Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This one covers the GameBoy game Tiny Toon
Adventures: Wacky Sports. Basically, it is just Mario Party with the characters
from the Tiny Toons TV series.

Section Four: The Game Modes **TINYTOON_4**

There are two game modes you are able to play.
The first is Sports Festival. This mode can be one- or two-player. In it, you
will choose one of three classes (Beginner, Amateur, and Super) and then your
character. You'll then play minigames in a set order until you fail to do well
enough to qualify for the next one, at least in one-player mode. I don't know
about two-player. It's all-or-nothing, too, so you MUST qualify to move on.
The other mode is Carnival, which has two games for you to play, which are
covered later.

We'll first cover the Sports Festival, then the Carnival Mode. Each game is
listed in the order you'll come across them in the game, first to last or left
to right, depending on the situation.

Sports Festival

Controls:
~~ D-Pad : What the D-Pad is used for.
~~ A Button: What the A Button is used for.
~~ B Button: What the B Button is used for.
Playing the Game: How you play the game, what you do, tips, etc.

Baseball
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : N/A.
~~ A Button: Swing.
~~ B Button: Swing.
Playing the Game: In the background of the field, you'll notice various marks:
out (gets an out), 1B (single), 2B (double), 3B (triple), and
HR (home-run). You'll want to time your swing at the ball to
hit it towards the non-outs, and preferably home-runs.
Three strikes are an out, and the game continues until you
meet the qualifications as designated or get three outs. If
you miss the ball during a swing, don't swing, or don't hit a
mark, it is a strike.
You'll need to watch the map in the lower-right corner of the
screen to note the "batters'" positions. You'll need to get
someone around all four bases (total of "4B" or a home-run)
to get a point.
As for hitting... When it is between the batters' boxes, it
usually can be hit. You'll be playing right-handed. The
earlier you swing, the more you'll have the ball head left;
the later, the more it'll go to the right. Hit it dead in the
center to go deep into center field.

American Football
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Move up and down.
~~ A Button: N/A.
~~ B Button: N/A.
Playing the Game: In this game, you'll automatically be running to the right.
Your goal is to make it, from a kickoff, all 100 yards to the
other touchdown zone. You'll get four tries to meet the
requirements. You'll fail if someone hits you. I suggest
staying the center when reasonable to allow the most
freedom in your movements.

Tennis
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Move left/right.
~~ A Button: Swing forehand (from the right).
~~ B Button: Swing backhand (from the left).
Playing the Game: In this game, you'll notice the white panels on the wall in
the distance. You'll want to smack the tennis ball so it
hits those panels. Simple enough.
If you swing from the right (forehand), the ball will go
right if you're late and left if you're early. If you swing
backhand, it is the reverse: left if you're late and right
if you're early. Remember that. There are also star-shaped
panels worth one of three points.
The game lasts sixty seconds.

Soccer
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Move the targeting cursor.
~~ A Button: Kick the soccer ball.
~~ B Button: Kick the soccer ball.
Playing the Game: A soccer ball will come by and you'll want to move the
cursor to aim it past the goalkeeper into the goal. I can't
really say much, except try to the inner sides of the net or
the corners. If the goalie is more on one side than another,
go for the side he *isn't* on.

Basketball
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Stop speed gauge.
~~ A Button: Hold and release to jump at a set angle.
~~ B Button: Hold and release to jump at a set angle.
Playing the Game: You'll want to press the D-Pad to stop the speed gauge at the
bottom of the screen, then approach the goal. When you want
to stop, press and hold A/B and release them when the jump
angle is as you want. You'll want to hit the basket to dunk
it.
Me, I use full speed and ~35-degree angles at the free-throw
line; that is just a half-ish-second tap of A/B.

Golf
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Position (Up/Down), trajectory (Left/Right).
~~ A Button: Hold and release to putt.
~~ B Button: Hold and release to putt.
Playing the Game: You must make the ball into the hole in one shot. You'll have
five chances to meet the requirements. You will use the D-Pad
to make the angle proper. You'll hold and release A/B to
smack the ball.
Treat the power gauge as proportionate to the distance to the
hole. A direct shot from edge to edge is a full power shot,
for example. I'd try for straight shots when possible, though
times are possible when you'll want to prefer to be indirect.
In that case, add just a *little* more to the power. And
remember that you can bounce balls off of the edge walls.

Carnival Mode

Shirley the Loon's Water Panic Game
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Move left.
~~ A Button: Move right.
~~ B Button: N/A.
Playing the Game: Move around to catch water in your cup, then move to the
Dizzy Devil to let him drink some. Once he drinks enough,
he'll stop the pipe from falling. If it does fall, you'll be
chased down by Elmyra. Don't get caught!
You'll earn points as you catch water. As time goes on,
however, the pipe will get lower and lower, much like the
Cutter in Tetris Plus. Feeding the Dizzy Devil enough water
will move the pipe back up. If it hits the bottom, you lose.

Fifi's Water Squirting Challenge
Controls:
~~ D-Pad : Move targeting cursor.
~~ A Button: Shoot.
~~ B Button: Shoot.
Playing the Game: In this game, you'll be playing the role of exterminator as
you squirt rats with water to earn points. That's actually
about it. You'll want to hit them before they get you and end
the game. Also don't hit Concord Condor, Sweetie, and Little
Beeper; they're your friends! If you hit a friend or get hit
three times, you lose.
