While I do write all of my guides for free, it does take a lot of time and
effort to put them together. If you're feeling generous and want to show your
appreciation, I am gladly accepting donations. I don't know exactly what the
donations will be used for, but just know that you would definitely be helping
me make more quality FAQs! Even the smallest donation amounts are appreciated,
and are a great way to say how much you appreciate the work I do. If you do
decide you'd like to donate, please send the donations through PayPal at the
e-mail address listed below. Thank you so very much for considering this!!

By the way, this is also my contact e-mail, so if you want to contribute
something to this or any of my other FAQs, or have a question to ask about one
of them, go ahead and use this e-mail.

Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This one covers the GameBoy game, Tetris Blast,
which, in its many years, has not had a single FAQ completed for it. This
excellent game puts a rather challenging spin on the original Tetris game by
using various modes, methods of play, and even introducing enemies into the
game. Quite an interesting change.

Well, actually, that pretty much ends another crappy introduction. Here is an
FAQ for you. Enjoy.

-------------------
General Game Basics
-------------------

During the course of the game, like normal Tetris, your goal is to make rows of
blocks by moving them around and, if needed, rotating them. However, unlike
normal Tetris, you'll need to also have bombs in those rows to make the rows go
away.

Basically, let me give some examples. Say each row is ten blocks. "O" will
represent normal blocks; "#" shows the bombs. Any pseudo-underlining is what I
want you to pay attention to in the following description in the single-line
versions.

O O O O O O O O O O

In this case, nothing is removed. The only way to get rid of anything here in
normal cases is to complete a line above/below. See the set of six examples
below to understand what I mean.

O O O O # O O O O O (or) # O O O O O O O O O

Simple enough. You have completed a line of blocks. Now, you see the underlined
O's? Those are the ones that get destroyed in this situation. One individual
bomb will destroy three blocks to its left and right.

O O # O O O # O O O (or) # O O O O O # O O O (or) # O O O O O O O O #

# # O O O O O O O O (or) # # # O O O O O O # (or) O O # # # # O O O O

This can also happen, when a row is completed with multiple bombs. It's just an
upgrade of the above description, basically. Each bomb on its own will destroy
three blocks to the left and right. These blocks can include other bombs. Hence
why you see a full destruction in example number two, with two bombs, but not
in the sixth one with four bombs. Interesting.

O O O O O O O O O O O O O # O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O #
O O O O O # O O O O (or) O O # O O O O # O O (or) O O O O O O O O
O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O # O O O O O O

What happens if you complete multiple lines at once with bombs in them? Well,
each bomb explodes as normal, eliminating three to the left and right, but this
also goes to one row above and below the bomb's level. I didn't use any kind of
underlining here because some bombs still wouldn't be destroyed, as in the
third example. There will still be three on the bottom row and six on top.

O O O O O O O O O O
X O O O O O O O O X
X O O O O O O O O X
X O O O O O O O O X
X O O O # # O O O X
X O O O # # O O O X
X O O O O O O O O X
X O O O O O O O O X
X O O O O O O O O X
O O O O O O O O O O

Now, whenever four bombs are adjacent in the form of a square, they make a mega
bomb. This bomb is unique in that, when destroyed, it will destroy everything
within four tiles. This is tough to explain like that, though, unless you
assume that the distance between any two adjacent tiles equals one unit.
Anyway, the area of influence is described above. Everything within the X's
will be eliminated once the bomb is part of a completed row; this also includes
the X's.

That distance is measured from the top of the bomb going up, bottom going down,
left going left, and right going to the right. Therefore, you may incidentally
knock out five rows by completing that bomb's row and such. Only one row needs
completion.

----------------
One-Player Modes
----------------

In Contest Mode, your goal is moreso to survive through the levels than
anything -- at least, that's how I focus on it.

In Training, you'll start with a blank playing field and simply get to place
the blocks as in a normal Contest.

In Fight, you'll have to defeat the enemy in each level by trapping them in an
explosion or bopping them with blocks to lower their health (bottom-right
gauge). Each enemy also has its own characteristics. I'll be listing these
characters chronologically as you proceed through the game. Note that I did
note that pretty much every enemy here will make rows of blocks and can drill
through them when blocked unless otherwise noted.

-- Cubit: Moves around randomly; may make some rows of blocks.
-- Snaptor: Eats normal bombs and leaves the block behind.
-- Gloop: If a falling block hits him, the block instantly goes to the bottom.
-- Creepa: Mostly just makes single blocks.
-- Squidly: Randomly adds rows of blocks.
-- Dug Grub: Eats mega bombs.
-- Shadow: Can add rows of blocks and use a "freeze attack".
-- B-Boy: Moves around quickly and will often make rows of blocks. Can also use
          a "bomb attack".

To play two-player mode, you'll need two GameBoy handhelds (whether GBA SP's or
GameBoy Player accessories apply is unknown), two Tetris Blast game paks, and
one GameBoy Link Cable. Connect the two and opt to play two-player mode from
the title screen.

This really is just trying to eliminate your own rows of blocks and eventually
adding to your opponent's rows. For every 10 blocks you destroy, you'll add one
row to your opponent's screen, and vice versa. The game ends when someone's
screen is full so that another block is unable to come down; that person loses.

I know this really doesn't need clarification, but here it is anyways. These
only apply to the only mode that uses Passwords -- Contest mode. Also, this
list is only partial, as I've only gotten this far.
