Question for Pokemon Gold

Is it possible to get Skarmory in Gold? If not, then what's a good Pokemon to teach Fly to? (Aside from Ho-oh or Lugia)
And what are some good additions to my team for the E4?
I have:
Espeon Lv. 40 something
Ampharos Lv. 40(working on leveling up)
Red Gyrados Lv. 39(also working on leveling up)

Yes if you trade from Crystal or Silver. They are hard to find.

Fly, anything with wings unless you plan to use the monster in battle then forget Fly. Go with Wing Attack. Turn waster= Fly.

Use your starter Pokemon and Raikou and Suicune when you get them.

No, skarmory is not in Pokemon gold. If you have pidgeot it is good to have it learn fly.
Your Pokemon arent strong enough 4 the e4.
Try get them to level 55 and you can boot the e4 way out. Hope this helps.

Gen 1 Charizard can't learn fly in Red and Blue, but, can in Yellow.
darkboarder_77 answered:

Fly isn't a very good Flying move. Although Wing Attack is slightly weaker than fly, it's accuracy is 5% higher, and it doesn't waste the time of two turns to use. Plus, if you get hit by Thunder, Gust, or Twister while in the air, they'll do double damage.

Guest answered:

Don't bother teaching fly to anything but hooh/lugia. My party is hooh, dragonite, tyranitar, snorlax, heracross and espeon. I taught hooh fly and kept wing attack for dragonite. It nearly as powerful and doesn't waste the extra turn, making it exceptionally useful for the e4. A dragonite (L55 basic) will k/o most of the fighting and ninja leaders Pokemon in one. Also teach it blizzard/ice punch and surf - you will destroy lance with this combo of moves.

I agree I taught Fly to Ho-oh and it made a difference in my E4 battles
Guest answered:

For e4 I used only 3 pokémon
Haunter can wipe out the three first trainers with shadow ball and psychic/dream eater
And then I used primeape (perfect for Karen) with his cross chop and ice punch. Last I h had dragonair as a backup against Lance and his dragon crew

Didn't think ahead that they would be so suitable for e4 tbh, they are just my favourits

Guest answered:

You should use butterfree, who is super underrated. Its compound eyes ability will make fly never miss. Also, if you throw on sleep powder or stun spore (either works) those will have a boosted 93ish accuracy. Combined with psybeam and shadow ball (since he doesn't get big buzz gen 2), he can actually put in some work. Plus you can get him very early on, and he gets confusion at level 10.
