StarFox 2 reproduction carts are appearing on eBay
The Super Nintendo or SNES Classic Edition, has unsurprisingly, been a huge hit with fans, selling out as soon as they became available for pre-order, and even though Nintendo did promise higher stocks on launch day, those still sold out that same day. The silver lining, however, is that since Nintendo is at least better at meeting public demand, the eBay listings for the SNES Classic aren't reaching as high, averaging around $150, as opposed to the average of $300 for the NES Classic. However, since the SNES Classic's release, bootleg cartridges of Star Fox 2 have been appearing on eBay for around $70. For those that might be unfamiliar, Star Fox 2 was the previously never released SNES title that Nintendo added to the SNES Classic as a nice bonus, giving fans the ability to play it for the first time. Now, those sellers on eBay extracted the Rom file from the SNES Classic, put it on an official SNES Cart with official-looking artwork, and are now reselling the game separately.
