Cadence of Hyrule Cheats and Tips

We have several Cadence of Hyrule Cheats and Tips that will help you survive longer in this rhythmic action-adventure game that blends the movement fighting mechanics of NecroDancer with the settings, characters, and music from The Legend of Zelda series. The game is available on Android and iOS.

Cadence of Hyrule Cheats and Tips

Cadence of Hyrule is a top-down, roguelike RPG where you are forced to move around the map to the beat of the game's soundtrack. You play as either Link or Princess Zelda as you explore the randomly generated overworld and dungeons on a quest to save Hyrule.

  • Shovels and Torches

Although you can buy shovels and torches from the diamond merchant whenever you die there is no need to do so as enemies drop these basic items faster than you can kill them. Save your diamonds for more beneficial items.

Check out our Weapons Infuse Guide to find out how you can upgrade the weapons you pick up.

  • Free Diamonds

You don't just get diamonds from combat, this currency can also be earned by digging if you know where to dig. Keep an eye out for dirt walls in dungeons as they will reveal free diamonds if you dig through them. As there is no time limit in Cadence of Hyrule it's always worthwhile checking for this precious mineral.

  • Spending Diamonds

Each time you die you can access the Diamond shop which sells both permanent and temporary upgrades. It is advised that you first focus on spending your diamonds on permanent upgrades. The first two times you die get the pair of heart containers which increase your maximum health.

Then once you have those and assuming you have enough diamonds, buy the spear. This is a permanent upgrade you can equip from your inventory at any time. This weapon will allow you to attack enemies up to one tile away.

  • Bottomless Pits and Deep Water

Each of these traps in Cadence of Hyrule works a little bit differently. If you fall into a bottomless pit it will shave off one half of a heart each time you stumble into one. You will then respawn right where you fell into the pit. Deepwater, which you can easily identify from shallow water as it is a darker blue color does not damage you.

What it does is eventually douse your torch, the torch like most of the other items in Cadence of Hyrule comes with a durability meter which unfortunately is susceptible to water damage. Try not to lose the torch as doing so will prevent you from being able to burn bushes and unable to see far in dungeons.

  • Talk to the Old Woman

Make sure you visit the Grassland and the old woman who lives in a hut. The hut is marked on the map as a giant eyeball symbol. The old woman sells you health and stamina potions which will come in useful as well as advice.

This advice costs you 10 rupees and will be in the form of a waypoint on your map that leads to a dungeon you have not completed. It won't however show you how to reach the location.

  • Collect Hearts

You must pick up every heart you come across in the world as trying to navigate through Cadence of Hyrule can be tricky from the start. Hearts tend to be visible on top of platforms out in the open, there will be times when to reach them you will have to solve a short puzzle or enter the zone from a different direction. Even so it's worth the inconvenience to pick them up.

  • Dungeon Shops

Inside the dungeons are shops, these are marked by gold walls and the sound of singing. Each of the four dungeons has one or two shops and they always sell at least one heart. Getting to these shops can be a problem as they tend to be hidden behind destructible walls or guarded by enemies.

Check out our Lost Woods Puzzle Guide to find out how you can solve this puzzle.

  • Finding Shopkeepers

Shopkeepers do not only appear in dungeons, they also appear scattered throughout the world of Hyrule, mostly in underground lairs. The easiest way to find these subterranean sellers is by listening to their singing music which will have lyrics.

As you approach the hidden entrance to their shop the singing will get louder. Just keep an eye out for anything you can move or break to reveal a secret door.
