Cadence of Hyrule is a spin-off and crossover of Crypt of the NecroDancer with The Legend of Zelda. It combines the rhythm-based movement fighting mechanics of NecroDancer with the settings, characters, and music from The Legend of Zelda series. Cadence of Hyrule is a top-down, roguelike RPG where you are forced to move around the map to the beat of the game's soundtrack and hitting the beats consecutively will earn you a coin multiplier, allowing you to buy loot on one of the dungeon's stores. Moving out of beat will cause you to stumble which then causes you to lose momentum, leaving you open for one beat which will likely result in being attacked by a nearby monster. Check out our Cadence of Hyrule walkthrough and guide to find out how you can survive longer in this weird Zelda rhythm game that demands you move to the beat.

Look for Flags

To defeat Ganon you need to find Octavo's four magic instruments, these are each hidden in a temple and guarded by a boss. To find the temples on the Hyrule map is not easy so it is important that you keep an eye out for flags as these indicate you are in the correct area.

Spend your Diamonds

Diamonds are plentiful in this game so don't be afraid to spend them. You can either use them to help you unlock upgrades after you die or spend them on consumables. Even if you do start to run out of diamonds you will find them super easy to farm.

Stone Ball Shield

Take advantage of the moveable stone balls on the ledges to block projectiles and damage any enemies that are coming for you. These stone balls just need to be nudged to move them and walking behind one is like having an indestructible shield.

Empty Bottle

Although it is expensive it is advised that you make sure you buy the empty bottle when you come across it as it can be filled with either health or stamina potions when you find the woman selling the potions out of the two huge cauldrons. If you do not purchase the bottle you will not be able to get the benefits these two potions provide.

Blue Butterflies

You will find a hidden staircase that leads to enemies you can slay to get additional rewards whenever you come across something that is breakable like a bush, pot, or pile of bones which has a blue butterfly on it. These blue butterflies are not always easy to spot, if you do find one you can gain access to the staircase underneath by destroying the terrain with your sword.

Use your Bombs

Use bombs whenever you have to, like diamonds there is no shortage of them so don't worry about saving them for an important fight. There are two types of bombs, standard and 'bombchus', which moves forward for a few spaces before exploding, both are super easy to find.

Fortune Teller

Although it costs 20 rupees for the Fortune Teller to read your future it's worth doing if you are stuck as she will tell you exactly where you need to go next by marking it on the map with an exclamation point.

Don't Kill Cucco's!

Avoid killing Cucco's (chickens) in Cadence of Hyrule as doings will trigger flocks of them flying to start flying at you from every side of the screen kamikaze style and you will struggle to move.
