Side Journeys Guide

In Ashen there are several Side Journeys you can choose to undertake which are apart from the Main Journeys. Side Journeys are easier and shorter than Main Journeys and it is advised that you focus on completing these Side Journeys first as the rewards you get from them are essential for your progress in the game. Jokell

Jokell is your first companion and is unlocked automatically.

Ash On The Wind

How to unlock:

Talk to Jokell after using the ritual stone for the first time.

How to complete:

Go to the Wandering Lake and inspect the bones on the stone to find Aho's Lockbox and give it to Jokell.

Reward:

• Crimson Gourd

• 15 Health

Moth to The Flame

How to unlock:

Complete Ash On The Wind

How to complete:

Fnd Vorsa on the southeast side of Placid Stream. Talk to her and return to Jokell in Vagrant's Rest.

Reward:

• Lesser Vigor Crafting Unlocked (Increases Max Health by 2%)

• 15 Max Health

Predecessor

How to unlock:

Complete Moth to The Flame

How to complete:

Find Vann's Notes at Eye of the Needle.

Reward:

How to unlock:

Climb up the tall structure that is along the shores of the Whispers to find Kalla.

Reward:

Blood Ties

How to unlock:

Complete Heritage

How to complete:

Fly to The Loom and head towards the waypoint (you have to go up, not down).

Reward:

• 15 Max Health

How to unlock:

Complete Blood Ties

How to complete:

Search near Lathyrus Palace for Malik. When you find him, kill him.

Reward:

• 15 Max Health

• Malik's Shield,

Vorsa

You will find Vorsa after completing Jokell's first Side Journey.

Sheath

How to unlock:

Bring Vorsa one Einar Head and craft a Bone Spear.

How to complete:

Go to the Stormed Ruins and hunt a Corb for its bile.

• Prophet's Standard (Javelin) Unlocked

Vitnir

How to unlock:

Complete Sheath

How to complete:

Fly to Listener's Ridge and walk from there. Kill the Einar and return to Vagrant's Rest.

• Respite Talisman Crafting Unlocked

• Timeworn Spear Crafting Unlocked

Mountain

How to Unlock:

Complete Vitnir

How to complete:

Fly to Bronzed Mire and kill a Roamoar from the Swamp.

Reward:

• Forager Talisman Crafting Unlocked

• Cracking Spear Crafting Unlocked

Clarity

How to unlock:

Complete Moutain

How to complete:

Fly to Bronzed Mire, go beyond the swamp to collect the Mother Scale and go back to Vagrant's Rest.

You will be able to find Eila by following Bataran's Main Journeys.

Fly to The Matriarch's Seat. Turn around and throw a spear at the monk statue on the south side. Drop down towards the south and kill Ake.

How to complete:

Fly to the Whispers and go south. You'll find Flokir behind a wall near the water.

Kill Fiske and give Fiske's lure to Eila.

Go east from where you found Flokir by using the monk statues and recover Flokir's Toolkit.

Complete Cache

How to complete:

Fly to Bronzed Mire and head towards the waypoint.
