- Go to Test Mode.
- Enter the following command within 10 seconds: →, ↓, ↓, 1P Start, ↑, ←, ↓, ↓, →, 1P Start, ←.
A sound tells you when done successfully.
A new "Hidden Character: On/Off" option is now available in the "Game Settings" menu.
Exit Test Mode.
In the game, at character selection screen, place your cursor on Fumiko and press "down". She's replaced by Munchausen.

At the 'Title' screen press Up, A, Down, Down, Left, Right, Up, Down, B, B, A, A+B to unlock Extreme mode at the 'Mode selection' screen. When enemies are now destroyed they will explode into bullets.
