Crafted Items

Remember when you equip someone a crafted item it is only semi-permanent and you are not getting it back. You will though be able to replace the item but the replaced item will be discarded.

Jobs

Remember that when you have jobs in progress you will not be able to add any more people to them so you need to make sure you assign everyone you want to work on it before you begin the job.

Revisit Locations

It's always worth revisiting previously explored areas as many of these locations will allow you to collect special items which you will eventually need when you craft more advanced things further into the game. You will almost always come away with a few extra resources like stone or if you are lucky gold.

Build

Even when you do not have enough supplies to build what you want always look to build as everything you craft is useful, even if it's just a workbench from some wood or a health potion from some food.

Storage

Make sure you keep upgrading your buildings that increase storage space to the maximum amount of supplies they can hold otherwise you will struggle to build anything else.

Run Away

If you encounter an aggressive animal and you do not have much health or do not think you can deal with it you can always run away and return with more people, the animal will still be there waiting for you.

Animal Attacks

There is always a chance of being attacked by animals when exploring so the best strategy is to send people out in groups and/or giving them weapons so their combat value increases. Their combat value is indicated by the red bar with the sword icon.

Food

Before you begin to explore a new location it is important that you check to make sure you have enough food stored otherwise you will not get very far.

Explore

In the early stages of the game the only way you are going to find supplies and unlock new structures to build is by exploring.
