Credits ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (27.05.15) Version 1.0 - First version of the guide. Partial completion on the first walkthrough. Next update will include new chapters and a few new sections. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II. Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Final Fantasy Type 0 HD for the PS4! When I started with my third playthrough I missed a lot in the first and second playthrough and this gave me an unsatisfied feeling. So I decided to start over and wanted to challenge myself by getting the most out of the first playthrough without being to overpowered. This meant doing all the possible tasks, Expert Trials, dungeons, etc., while keeping my levels lower than the requirements to provide a challenge. I enjoyed the game much more that way and wanted to share, so I decided to make a guide. And because there is a limit in doing everything in the first playthrough, I also made a second and a third playthrough. I hope this guide will be of great use to you. If you see anything that is incorrect or needs to be changed, please let me know! You can find my email at the very top of this guide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III. Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you start to read the first playthrough of this guide, remember that this walkthrough is based on how I played the game, so feel free to choose you own path. Other things you have to remember: - The first playthrough of this guide is in the difficulty mode. The second and third playthrough in this guide will be in Agito and Finis. - During the first playthrough, I will focus on recruiting the cadets and watching all the events during breaks. Kazusa and Emina will be xplained in the second playthrough. - In the first playthrough, I will cover all the quests, Expert Trials, dungeons and tasks, and when it's better to leave something for the second playthrough I will mention it. - Don't miss any of the Moogle's Classes. Everyone will benefit from it compared to gaining exp and stats during fights which only applies to the members that joined the fight. - Collecting SPP, Phantoma and landing Killsights strikes will unlock items in the game that are not available by other means. - I will not give every detail of where to find the random items you can collect in the rooms during missions, only those that are important. - There is no such thing as the "best" party. But always bring a ranged character with you. There will be situations you wished you had a ranged character or at least some ranged attacks. - Learn how to dodge! Always upgrade the passive skills that improves dodging first. Dodging makes you untouchable. - Learn how to land a Breaksight/Killsight strike by studying the movements of the enemy. This will be your most powerful "weapon" in the game. - Don't ingore the S.O. System. See it as a free shop. The rewards you get from SOs in the red envelopes are much better then the most items you can buy and it saves you money. =====---------------------------------------------------- CHAPTER 1: War-Three Hours that Changed the World (C1C1) =====---------------------------------------------------- ============================================== MISSION 1: The Cadets' First Deployment (C1M1) ============================================== ITEMS: ROOM [B] - x2 Knowing Tag ROOM [D] - x1 Knowing Tag ROOM [H] - x1 Knowing Tag UNLOCKS: Fire SHG | [B] | [A] After a couple of cutscenes, you gain control over Ace and his party. When you start the mission you can choose to begin with a tutorial, it teaches you the basics of the gameplay. For the first part of this mission, you are equipped with Life Armlets, a one-time accessory that brings you back to life if you die. Before heading forward in this area [A], some advice first, don't spam your attacks too much and learn the movements of the enemy. The majority of attacks they perform will trigger a Killsight or a Breaksight, and you will recognize them by a red and yellow circle and hitting the enemy at that same moment will do immensive damage. During the walkthrough, when you ecnounter new enemy types, I will provide some tips. Approach the closed gate in front of you, and it will open and an Imperial Trooper will shoot down some poor Dominion soldiers. Defeat him and the blue barrier will disappear, then head up the stairs and kill any other incoming Troopers you encounter. When you reach the top, Sergeant Major Blaise with a Trooper will enter the room. The orange icon above his head indicates that he is a leader and defeating leaders will make the rest surrender. When the enemy surrenders, you can steal an item from them which makes them a good source for healing and some other rare items. The Sergeant is a Supersoldier, so try to hit him when a Breaksight appears, which happens mostly after when he throws a grenade, fired four bullets or his rifle attack. When you succeed, he will be knocked down for a short moment. If things get critical, make use of the RECOVERY PORTAL in front of the exit and enter the next room [B] after defeating the leader. Once you enter the area, DON'T KILL all the Troopers if you want to grab the shiny object on the ground near some dead bodies. Wait until the COMM Speaker is done talking, and then kill the last Troopers but DON'T harvest their Phantoma. Now you can grab the shiny object, a Knowing Tag. Shortly after that, an Unidentified Target surrounded by mist, will appear on the battlefield. Don't bother attacking it, instead go to the right and wait on the stairs until it disappears. Then head up the steps, grab another Knowing Tag next to the burning flag, and interact with the red panel at the end. Make use of the RECOVERY PORTAL and take the exit into [C]. -[I] | | -[H] [D]-[E]- | [C] | A transporter will drop two Imperial Troopers on the bridge and from the sides, more Troopers await you. Near the blue barrier, that blocks the way out, is a RECOVERY PORTAL you can make use of. When you have cleared the room, a scene will follow and after that you end up in room [D]. This is a save room that contains a SAVING POINT and a RECOVERY PORTAL. Heal and save if needed, then grab the Knowing Tag from the dead body near the exit and proceed to [E]. Defeat the Troopers and head towards the red panel in front of you. Activate it and the platform will make a bridge to the other side of this room where Second Lieutenant Ernest awaits you. He is a Nymurod enemy type, and the best way to deal with this type is by standing in front of him as close as possible, so the bullets he fire will not hit you. After he fires his bullets, he will do a stomp attack and when he stands on his two legs a Breaksight will appear. After defeating the leader, take the lift and kill the two Troopers that drop down on your way up. [G] | [F]- When the lift stops, more Troopers await you behind a barricade and a RPG-155 Gunner shoots at you from higher ground. Kill the enemy that is marked on your minimap to clear the room by using Blizzard BOM that can destroy the barricade or run around the containers to attack them from behind. Make use of the RECOVERY PORTAL and take the exit into [G]. Ingore the first Troopers you encounter and make your way up to the end of the room where Second Lieutenant VanDamme will appear. Kill the RPG-155 Gunner first on the left balcony, then focus on defeating the leader and don't forget to loot the surrendered soldiers afterwards. After that, place the bomb and turn around. There is a RECOVERY PORTAL, but it's best to leave it for later because when you head to the exit you will encounter some Troopers and Major Xulian. Major Xulian is a Warrior type and will perform a charge attack most of the time. Run around him or dodge to the sides, and hit him when a Breaksight appears after he performs a charge attack. After beating him, the airship explodes and you will automatically return to [E]. -[I] | | -[H] | [D]-[E]- | [C] | Take the east exit into the save room [D]. The status Reraise will be lifted and from now on, when a character dies, he or she, will be unavailable for the whole mission. Save, and go through the north exit into [H] and watch a cutscene. After that, you may destoy the two Nymurods thanks to the nice lady. Grab the Knowing Tag from the dead body at the entrance you came from, then take the exit to [I] and get ready for a boss battle. --------------------- BOSS FIGHT: Dainsleif --------------------- You start the boss fight as Odin. Charge up his Zantestuken. Stay close to Dainsleif and when 100% is reached, release his attack. This will make her immobile. A second battle follows. This time you play with Ace and two other members (Seven and Jack). Dainsleif will use only one attack, but if it hits you, it does a lot of damage. You will recognize her attack by a green light that appears. She will strike you 4 times, and after that, you can hit the boss for a few seconds before she launches a new attack. Everytime you dodge her attack, you get the chance to land a Breaksight. This also will cancel her attack. When you depleted her HP bar, she will heal herself. Repeat the same strategy. Dodge her attacks and land a Breaksight. When you depleted her HP bar for a second time, you can finish her off with a Killsight strike. Congratulations with finishing your first mission of the game! This will unlock the magic spell, Fire SHG. After a couple of cutscenes, you gain control over Ace in a ruined Akademeia. You can listen to the speech of Chancellor Chival VI you want or proceed with the story by entering the building. Make use of the save option and watch some cutscenes. =====--------------------------------------- CHAPTER 2: Raise the Vermilion Banner (C2C2) =====--------------------------------------- ============================ CHAPTER 2: First Break (C2B1 ============================ ITEMS: x1 X-Potion x1 Elixir x3 Hi-Potion x3 Gysahl Green With Akademeia rebuilt to her original state, you are free to explore the school, but first head towards the fountain and listen to what Aki has to say. She tells you about your next destination, check it on your map by pressing the OPTION button. Enter the big building in front of you and go left into the Hallway where Dr. Al-Rashia will interupt you for a small talk about collecting Phantoma. As you noticed in the first mission, you can gather Phantoma from defeated enemies. You can use this for upgrading magic and unlocking new items, but that's for later. After the talk, enter Classroom Zero and go down the steps and you will hit a cutscene that will introduce your new Commanding Officer, Kurasame. After the entertaining introduction, speak with Moogle to the left and watch how Cinque transforms her to Moglin. Moogle... err, Moglin will tell you to go to the cemetery, but before going there, speak first to the shy girl, Aria, with the INFO above her head. She will sell you the basic items and more can be unlocked by completing certain missions. Take the door behind her and interact with the fence at the end for a cutscene. After that, head back to Classroom Zero where Moglin will speak to you again about spending your free time. During breaks, you can speak to people with a "!" above their heads for an event or small talk that will consume 2 hours everytime. During this first walkthrough, you will mainly speak to people that you can recruit or have an event. Leave the class by entering the Hallway and approach the SAVING POINT for a cutscene. It's called a Relic Terminal, but let's stick with SAVING POINT. Interact with the SAVING POINT and assign Machina as the active leader, and then return to the Cemetery for your first event. This has not gone unnoticed by Moglin and she will give you an Elixir for spending your first 2 hours. Switch back to your main character if you want, then enter the Hallway and approach the red circle in the middle. Aki will tell you all about it and after that you can make use of the Great Portal. Interact with it, then select Sorcery and speak with Dr. Al-Rashia for a small talk. You have two hours left, but there a couple of things I recommend doing first. While you are at the Sorcery, speak to the man with the INFO icon above his head and choose to allow SOs. During the missions, you will receive white and red envelopes from Moglin and by pressing the touch pad on your controller you will be given info about the SO. You only want the red envelopes as they give you rewards like equipment on the spot, but keep in mind that if you fail to complete the SO, by not meeting the requirements, three magic circles will appear that can kill you instantly. Fortunately, you can dodge them. After that, go to Chocobo Ranch and talk to the woman with the INFO icon above her head, she will give you ten Chocobos in both gender and some Gysahl Greens, but unfortunately, you can't breed Chocobos at this moment. If you have visited all the available areas in Akademeia, Moglin will give you a Hi-Potion. Once you're done with everything, spend the last two hours by speaking with Machina on the Terrace for an event. After that the siren will go off, meaning it's Mission Day. Head to Classroom Zero and speak to Kurasame for a small briefing about the next mission. Proceed to the Main Gate, save the game, and approach the exit where Moglin will give you new info about the encounters on the World Map and gaining EXP during missions, but that's something you will learn quickly enough. Leave through the door that leads to the World Map. --------- WORLD MAP --------- Remember the chocobos? You can press Square+X and summon one. But your next destination is nearby, so using it now would be a waste. Head north towards the first town, McTighe, and interact with it to start with the mission. You will given the option SP Support, ignore this when doing missions for the first time. SP Support is only usefull if you want to collect SPP for unlocking and buying new items, but you will find more info about this in the next break. Choose the option without SP Support and set-up your party if needed, but don't spend your AP, save it for later when you can upgrade passive skills that improves your movement and dodging. More passive skills will unlock after you gain a few levels. ============================================== MISSION 1: The Cadets' First Deployment (C2M1) ============================================== ITEMS: ROOM [C] - x1 Knowing Tag SO REWARDS: ROOM [D] - x1 Elixir ROOM [E] - x1 Iron Bangle ROOM [J] - x1 Megalixir UNLOCKS: Remedy (Aria's Shop) [J]-[I]-[H] | [F]-[E]-[G] | | [D] | | [B]-[C] | [A] When you enter the town [A], three Imperial Troopers will run towards the gate, but will be locked up together with you. Take them down and leave through the gate that was closed. In [B], go right and enter [C]. The gate here is locked, so defeat the marked Troopers and don't forget to pick up the Knowing Tag from the corpse before you leave. When you enter [D], the doors behind you will close and there is only one way out which is by taking down Second Lieutenant Mouton. If you want to complete the SO, be sure to accept it before you beat the leader. Head back to [B] and take the north exit into [E]. Go around the corner, past the stairs with the enemy behind barricades, and take the west exit into [F]. Head up the steps to your right into the narrow passage and leave the area at the end. You're back in [E], only this time you can attack the enemy from behind. Destroy the three Autoturrents, the last one is behind some crates, and then kill Lieutenant Theodore that was hiding in the storehouse. If you want to complete the SO in this room, accept it before defeating the leader. After killing the leader, leave through the east gate into [G]. Make use of the RECOVERY PORTAL if needed, and proceed to [H]. Ignore the snipers, they will keep respawning anyways, and take down Second Lieutenant Necker that awaits you. When successful, leave through the west gate and go directly to [J], there is not much you can do for these poor villagers. You will be brought into the final fight against Major Massena and he is no different than the other Nymurods you have encountered so far. If you want to complete the SO be sure to accept it before you accidentally destroy the fuel tank standing next to the Major. Use lock-on and move the target with the right-analog stick if you have trouble with selecting it. Be aware that if you stand too close, it can damage you when it explodes. During the fight, Troopers will keep coming until you defeat their leader. Completing the mission will unlock Remedy at Aria's shop in Classroom Zero. --------- WORLD MAP --------- ITEMS: x1 Mizua's Crystal Now that McTighe is set free, you can enter the town. Talk to the man that is sitting on the ground on the other side. Agree to help him and speak to the townspeople and interact with three doors in this town. When you have gathered everyone, speak to him again. He will give you the Mizua's Crystal. You can do some shopping here if you want, but the only interesting item is the Teleport Stone and you don't need it right now. Go back to Akademeia when you are done. ============================== CHAPTER 2: Second Break (C2B2) ============================== ITEMS: x1 Tactical Vest x1 Mega-Ether x1 Mega-Potion x2 Turbo Ether x1 Pretty Pelt UPGRADES: - 2,000 EXP - Defense Magic +2 SPELLS: - Avoid After returning, you can do some interesting new stuff in the second break. There is a chance that a Catuar will show up when you visit the Terrace, Chocobo Ranch, Airship Landing or the Backyard in Akademeia. When you enter the area the Cactuar will flee and leaves a random item behind on the ground. If you encounter him for the first time, he will drop a Tactical Vest. When he will show up is completly random, but I have noticed that there is a order of the locations where he will appear. The first location seems to be Chocobo Ranch. Save the game, re-enter the area a couple of times and if he does not show up, reload and try again. I have replayed the game a couple of times to check this and the outcoming is always the same. Depending on how much time you have played, there is a Moogle at the Fountain Courtyard in front of the door leading into Akademeia that will give you a reward. If you have spent 10 hours of gameplay, he will give you the magic Avoid, a great defensive skill you can equip on all your characters. When equiped, the character will auto dodge an attack by consuming MP. If you haven't reached 10 hours of gameplay, be sure to check him from time to time. When you have enough playtime to receive an item, the "INFO" will appear on top of the Moogle's head. Another Moogle, near the Great Portal at the Entrance, will ask you to give him the Knowing Tags you find during missions. The Knowing Tags in story missions will respawn. For exchange, he will give you items when you have collected enough. If you want new weapons, you can unlock some in the SP Shop if you collect 30 Phantoma. They are better than the weapons you can buy at the Armory shop at this moment. The weapons you can unlock will cost you 200 SPP, which you can collect by choosing SP Support during Missions. The best way for doing this is to replay the first mission. You can replay missions via the title screen. Let the Support personnels, that randomly join your party, do the killing as they will collect the SPP for you. To unlock the weapons, after you have collected 30 Phantoma, you need to finish a mission first and it doesn't matter which one. What you have unlocked will appear on the results screen. To see how far you have progressed with collecting Phantoma you can check the Historical Personae of your characters. It can be accessed in the Crystarium in Akademeia or from the History option on the title screen. From now one Moglin will offer you lessons. Following her lessons will gain you stat boosts, so don't miss any of them. Go to her and check the two lessons she offers. Following her lessons for the first time will get you a Mega-Ether. After the lessons, head to the Terrace and talk to Rem for an event, then switch to Machina and speak with Ace in the Crystarium for another event. For the next one, head to the Fountain Courtyard and talk to Celestia for an event. After that, visit the Ready Room and speak with Carla. She is one of the cadets that can join Class Zero. Keep the Pretty Pelt you recieve after the event, you need it for later. Once you have spent the last two hours, the sirene will go off. Go to Classroom Zero and speak with Kurasame. The next mission is a RTS mission. You will have to take over areas and towns that are occupied by the enemy. You can skip this mission if you want, but for the first playthrough you want to do as much as possible. Accept the mission and make you way to the Main Gate. Set up your party if needed, then save the game and leave Akademeia. ======================================= MISSION 2: Operation Reconquista (C2M2) ======================================= CORSI-----[D2] |\ / | \ / | \ / | [D1] | / \ | / \ |/ \ MCTIGHE---AQVI After entering the World Map, summon a chocobo. During RTS missions, you can do a Chocobo Kick that will kill enemy troops in one hit. When you cross the bridge, choose or decline the option to start with a tutorial and head forward to Domain 1. Help the Blaze Troops that comes from McTighe by defeating the enemy infantary. Once your troops have occupied Domain 1, go northeast to the forest and destroy the Autoturret. After destroying the turrent, interact with Domain 1 and command the Blaze Troops to attack Aqvi. Your troops will attack Aqvia from both sides now. Help your troops if you want and wait for the Energy Wall to be dropped and invade the town. If your HP and MP is low, use one of the Recovery Portals that are spread around the area or use the domains and towns if your MP is low. [B] | - | [A] When you enter Aqvi, a timer will show up. Don't bother with the Troopers in room [A], instead, go directly to the closed gate and attack the Imperial Officer that tries to escape. Keep attacking him until he leaves the room. Follow him through the same exit into the next area [B]. Defeat the Imperial Officer first, this will stop the timer. After he is defeated, collect five Phantoma. The Troopers will keep respawning until you have harvested enough. After recapturing Aqvi, interact with the town and command Spark Troopers to attack Corsi. You can ignore the enemy Warriors that are marching toward McTighe, your troops will take care of them. Command your Blaze Troopers in Domain 1 to attack Domain 2. When Domain 2 has fallen under Dominion command, all your troops will focus on attacking Corsi. When the Energy Wall is neutralized, invade the town. [B]-[C] | [A] The exit that leads to the next area is blocked by an Energy Wall. Just clear the room and the barrier will eventually drop. When entering the next room [B], another barrier prevents you from proceeding. Kill the marked enemies and ignore the snipers that attack you from higher ground. After you killed the marked enemies, the barrier will drop. Proceed to the last area [C] and focus on defeating Lieutenant Hamilton. Don't bother with the Troopers, they will keep spawning anyway. Taking him down will complete the mission, and without much effort, you should probably also gain a S Rank. The RTS story missions are the easiest to get a S Rank for. After completing the mission, you will be transported back to the World Map and have access to the occupied towns. --------- WORLD MAP --------- ITEMS: x1 Kayahara's Crystal x1 Yu'u's Crystal Go to Corsi first and grab the Kayahara's Crystal on the left side of the street, then buy from the merchant the Sexy Swimsuit you need for a request later. At the end of the street, you can buy or sell Phantoma and near the save point is a man that provides you info about certain areas. Leave Corsi and head this time to Aqvi. Speak twice to the little girl, called Nazuna, standing under the tree on the other side of the town. The children that are running around in front of the tree will enter the conversation. Speak with the children and Nazuna will run away. Go back to the entrance and talk to the Dominion Tribune that enters the town. Take the letter and give it to Nazuna and in return she will give you Yu'u's Crystal. You can also do a bit of shopping right here, but there is nothing that you really need at the moment. When ready, return to Akademeia. ============================= CHAPTER 2: Third Break (C2B3) ============================= ITEMS: x1 Phoenix Down x1 Ether x1 Ferric Ring x1 Fulgur Primus Vol II x1 Iron Bangle x1 Mega Elixir x1 Ignis Primus x1 Glacies Prima Vol II x2 Ether UPGRADES: - Magic Power +1 - Fire Magic +1 - Ice Magic +1 - Lightning + 1 SPELLS: - Thunder RF This will be the last break in Chapter 2 and you can undertake a lot of new things. Let's start with the Tasks. Tasks are miniquests you can fulfill by speaking to people with the TASK icon above their head and by completing them you will be rewarded with equipment and items. In this break you can complete in total 8 tasks in Akademeia and 2 of them requires you to leave the school, which will consume 6 hours everytime you enter the World Map. And like I metioned at the start of the guide, I will cover all the tasks that can be done during the first playthrough! For the first one, switch to Rem, then head to the Fountain Courtyard and speak to Enra. This will complete your first task and for that Mooglin will give you an Elixir. After that, go to the Main Gate and give 3 Potions to the Logistics Researcher. If you don't have any, buy some at Aria's shop. Leave the Main Gate and go to the Sorcery. Give one red Phantoma to the Sorcery Reseacher. Head to the Ready Room and give to Tokito the Sexy Swimsuit you bought in Corsi. For the next one, go to the Armory and give the Pretty Pelt you got from Carla to the Guildsman. In the Lounge you can accept a task from the Administration Offical, but to complete this one, you need 100 SPP. If you have unlocked the weapons in the second break and have enough SPP left, you can complete it straight away. If not, collect the SPP and return to her to finish the task. Speak for the next task to Class Ninth Cadet in Crystarium. You have to defeat two Vertigos. Leave Akademeia and go to the north forrest. Do some random battles until you encounter a Vertigo. After you have killed two of them, return to Akademeia and finish the task. The last task can be done by talking to the Dominion Officer in the Central Command. He wants you to destroy a Striker. Go to the World Map and do some random encounters. When you have defeated a Striker go back to Akademeia and finish the task. Now you have done all the tasks that where available, there are a couple of other things you can do first before spending the rest of your free time. Head to the Hallway and speak with Dr. Al-Rashia, she will grant you access to the Altocrystarium. Enter the portal behind her and interact with the machine at the end of the room. Activating it will unlock the magic spell Thunder RF and after this you can upgrade your magic. Upgrading magic will consume Phantoma, but for the first playthrough upgrading your magic isn't really necessary. But if you do, don't use the rare Ivory Phantoma if you harvested one, try to save it for later. That includes all the tasks that are available in Academeia. A couple of other tasks await you on the World Map, but it's better to leave them for the Mission Day. Head to the Great Portal and go to the Chocobo Ranch. Speak with the man standing at the chocobo stable with the INFO icon above his head and breed a War Chocobo with the chocobos and Gyshal Greens you recieved in the first break. It will take six hours (Free Time hours, not gameplay hours) before you can collect the new chocobos. I really recommend to breed at least a couple of War Chocobos for a RTS mission in the next chapter. Check the Chocobo Breeding section for more info. Another new area you can visit is the Arena, which you can enter via the Fountain Courtyard. You can do here two kinds of training: Combat Simulation and Secret Training. The Secret Training let you automatically train one character when you are not playing the game. In the Combat Simulation you can battle against three enemies at a time for twenty rounds and repeating this until you get defeated. With the last hours left to spend, switch to Machina and head to Classroom Zero and follow the four Moogle lessons, this will boost you magic power. After that, talk to Rem in Classroom Zero for an event (if you have breed some chocobos, don't forget to check them out now). Change back to your main character if you want and watch the event by talking to Naghi in the Lounge, he is the second cadet that can join Class Zero. When you have spend all your free time, Mission Day will start. Head to Classroom Zero and speak to Kurasame for info about the next story mission. After the briefing, save and leave Akademeia. --------- WORLD MAP --------- ITEMS: x1 Ferric Ring x1 HP Enchancer x1 Silver Bracelet Don't use a chocobo, instead, do random encounters while heading to the towns. This way you can level up your characters to prepare for a dungeon you have to visit later. When you are given the option to retreat or to fight after defeating the enemy in a random encounter, choose to fight. The same enemies appear again but with a level boost, and this way you can level up faster. Head to Aqvi and speak with Koki standing at the back of the street. To finish his request give him one Fire Shard, a drop from Bombs you have encountered on the World Map. Exit the town and go to Corsi. To the right, you can speak with Tamano for another task. Defeat for him ten Aqua Flans on the World Map and return to him to finish the task. Leave and head to McTighe. Speak with Amane and accept the task for killing three Lesser Coeurls. The Lesser Coeurls are monsters in Corsi Cave, a level 22 dungeon north of McTighe. Level up your three main characters to level 18 and equip them with HP and DEF accessories. Give Cure to your active leader, preferably a ranged character and if you allready have the spell Avoid, equip it on the other two characters. When ready, save and head out to Corsi Cave. -------------------------- DUNGEON: Corsi Cave (C2D1) -------------------------- ITEMS: ROOM [A] - CHEST: x1 Rumbrum Analecs ROOM [D] - x1 Knowing Tag ROOM [F] - CHEST: x1 Mimett Greens (37.5%) x2 Mimett Greens (37.5%) x2 Curiel Greens (12.5%) x1 Amulet (12.5%) ROOM [H] - CHEST: x1 Crystal Ball (50%) x1 Circlet (25%) x1 Megalixir (25%) [H]- | -[G] | -[E]- | | | [D]- -[F] _| | [C] |_ | [B] _| | [A] When you enter [A], you will find a girl and a frog. In this dungeon you can only talk to them, but you will meet the girl again in other places. Check the chest near the entrance to collect the Rumbrum Analecs that is needed for a task later. Head straight to[D], clear the room and grab the Knowing Tag on the ground. Take the right exit and proceed to [F]. Defeat the Coeurl leader and collect the items from the surrendered Lesser Coeurls. Loot the chest containing either random Greens or an Amulet. This chest will respawn everytime you re-enter the dungeon. Head back to [D] and take the north exit. Go straight to [H]. In this room you will encounter a Coeurl with some nasty attacks. Defeat him quickly and try to land a Breaksight after he teleports. If the fight takes to long he will summon three Lesser Coeurls. Beware of his Electric field attack, but the real danger comes from the Electric bolts he shots at you as they can instantly kill you, but fortunately, they are slow and can be destroyed. After the Coeurl is dead, open the chest at the end of the room to find a random item. If you bought a Teleport Stone, use it to exit the dungeon or backtrack to the first room and leave through the entrance. With three Lesser Coeurls defeated, you can return to McTighe and receive your reward. Now that you have finished all the tasks, save and go to Togoreth Region. When you enter Togoreth Region, be sure to keep your distance from the LVL99 monsters that are roaming here. If you need Chocobos, you can catch four of them in this region and they will respawn when you re-enter. Do some random encounters first and collect 3 Tree Saps from Capparwires that are needed for a task later. After that, head north and enter the town that is marked on your minimap to start the next story mission. ==================================================== MISSION 3: The Capture of Togoreth Stronghold (C2M3) ==================================================== ITEMS: ROOM [E] - x3 Knowing Tag ROOM [F] - x1 Knowing Tag ROOM [K] - x1 Knowing Tag SO REWARDS: ROOM [A] - x1 Elixir ROOM [B] - x1 Ignis Tertius Vol I ROOM [C] - x1 Fire ROK-II ROOM [D] - x1 Feathered Cap ROOM [F] - x1 Lustrous Deck ROOM [G] - x1 Megalixir (After disabling the security) ROOM [A] - x1 Ballistic Armor ROOM [C] - x1 Elixir ROOM [D] - x1 Megalixir ROOM [M] - x1 Firewyrm Armlet ROOM [O] - x1 U1-Sock Damper ROOM [P] - x1 Metal Glove UNLOCKS: Eidolons Ifrit, Shiva ---[D] | | | | | [C] | | | | | ---[B]- | -[A] After entering [A], go directly to the open gate at the end of the street. Take down Lieutenant Nurbert that enters the area and leave through the gate. To complete the SO, accept it before taking down Nurbert. You can ingore the enemy in [B] and take the left exit. If you're planning on doing the SO in this room, defeat the enemy on the ground first, then accept the SO and kill Lieutenant Bancroft that appear to the left on higher ground with ranged attacks. Once you have entered [C], the enemy will activate the security system thats blocks the exit and a timer of 30 seconds will show up. Go to the north exit and wait for the timer to expire. Don't worry about the Golem that appears through the Channel Gate, he will be too slow to reach you in time. When the barrier is down, leave the area into [D]. To do the SO in this room, don't destroy the Channel Gate and decline the white envelopes until the red one appears. Stay one minute in the same room without dying, and if the Golem comes too close, dodge to the other side of the room. When entering [D], the exit is blocked by an Energy Wall. Take down Lieutenant Oreck and the barrier will drop. If you want to complete the SO in this room, kill three Imperial Troopers with your active leader. There are only four of them, so do this quickly, otherwise your party members will kill them before you do. Exit through the door that was blocked into the base [E]. --[F] | | | [E]-- [G] | [J] -[H] | | -[I]- | | [K]- [L] | Heal your party and save if needed, then grab the 3 Knowing Tags in this room and head to [F]. If you want to complete the SO, accept it before you take down Lieutenant Radford that enters the room and don't let the Dominion Soldier die. After Radford is beaten, grab the Knowing Tag to the left from the corpse and proceed to [G]. You can ingore the enemy and go directly to the next area or do the SO first. If you do the SO, defeat the three Imperial Troopers on the ground first and land two Killsights on the two Warriors that enter the room after defeating the Troopers. If you have trouble, just watch their movement and run around them until a Killsight appears after they do the charge attack. When you enter [G], speak with the girl standing in the middle and she will hand over the Eidolon, Ifrit. After the talk, an explosion taking place followed by an enemy suprise attack. Clear the area and take the west exit to [H]. Ignore the Golem, dodge to the other side and enter [K]. Talk to the man leaning against the pillar and answer his quesions. The first answer will give you his Knowing Tag and the second one will get you a Hi-Potion. Make use of the RECOVERY PORTAL, then grab the 2 Knowing Tags and go back to the room with the Golem. Sacrifice your active leader and summon Ifrit to destroy the Channel Gate with his Blazing Attack or stay on higher ground and attack the Channel Gate with ranged attacks by standing in the corner near the crates. When you are strong enough, you can replay the mission and do a SO that involves defeating the Golem within one minute. After the gate is destroyed, go through the exit into [J] and disable the security system. With the security disabled, the Golem will be gone. Make use of the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL that appear and backtrack to [H]. After entering, three other Dominion Soldiers will enter the room. Speak with the woman to the left and she will give you an Ether or a Hi-Potion. Go back to [I], take care of the marked enemies and after that Lieutenant Hougoumont will enter the room. Once Hougoumont is defeated, head through the open gate. You don't have to fight in [L], take the exit and you're back outside the base in [B]. ---[D] | | | | [P]----- | | | [C]-[M][Q]-[R][O] | | | | -[N]----- | | | ---[B]- | -[A] Proceed with the mission and go directly to [M] or complete the SOs in [A], [C] and [D] first. To complete the SO in [A], collect 5 Phantoma and for the SO in [C], land 3 Killsights on Imperial Troopers. Use a ranged character if you are planning to do the SO in [D], and try to time your attacks, otherwise landing a Killsight on the retreating Troopers on lower ground will be very difficult. When you enter [M], leave the Troopers and head towards the blocked exit at the end. Fight the enemy there and once Lieutenant Roberts enters the area focus on defeating him. For the SO in this room, defeat three Warriors with your active leader. With the barrier gone, go through the exit into [N]. Defeat the marked enemies that will make Lieutenant Eudemond appear and take him down. With the room cleared, you can now enter the next area [O]. Ignore the enemy by heading up to the end of the room and focus on defeating Lieutenant Moris. The SO you can do in this room requires you to collect an item from an surrendered enemy, but completing it is only possible if there is at least one soldier alive, so make sure to kill the commander quickly. After that, enter [P]. Leave the enemy in this room or defeat them if you want, Commander Schmitz will escape anyways. Once you enter [Q], you can make use of a SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL. After that, head to [R]. Take the stairs and defeat the enemy on your way up. When you reach the upper room, kill the Imperial Trooper and the Supersoldier first and then focus on Commander Schmitz. To make it easier on yourself, take cover when he is in Rage mode and use attacks that stuns or interupt him. For example, Machina's upgraded version of his Cyclone Drive or Cincue's Earthquake can do wonders. When he is down, a boss fight will follow. --------------------------------- BOSS FIGHT: General Qator Bashtar --------------------------------- Switch to your ranged character and keep dodging towards him until a Breaksight appears after he performed an attack. If you stay too far, your own attacks will likely miss the Breaksight, so keep close to him. His shoulder attack and the last purple plasma bullet he fires will trigger a Breaksight. When you succeed in landing a Breaksight he will fall to the ground and you can land several Breaksights on him for a short time. Switch to your character that can inflict the most damage in combination with an item that casts Aura, will end this battle after landing one Breaksight. Use the RECOVERY PORTAL in this area if you need to heal. Once you have defeated the General you will complete the mission and unlock the eidolon, Shiva. After a couple of scenes, you can save the game and more scenes will follow. After that, you will automatically be transported back to Akademeia. =====---------------------------------------- CHAPTER 3: Weapons of Mass Destruction (C3C3) =====---------------------------------------- ============================= CHAPTER 3: First Break (C3B1) ============================= ITEMS: x1 Yugino's Crystal x1 Wizards Hat x1 Argentic Ring x1 Fulgur Secondus Vol II x1 Shock Shield x5 X-Potion x1 Ballastic Shield x1 Aegis Veritas x1 Turbo Ether x1 Mega-Potion x1 Glass Pendant UPGRADES: - 20,000 EXP - Max HP +20 - Magic Power +1 - Magic Power +3 - Defense Magic +2 SPELLS: - Protect Speak with Kurasame in the Central Command and he give you some info about the Triad Maneuver and Eidolons. From now one you can choose at the start of a mission between these two commands. Just like with the Class Zero members, Eidolons have to participate in the battles to gain EXP and AP. When leveled-up propely they can be powerhouses, but the downside is that you have to sacrifice a party member and when summoned you can only use them for a limited amount of time. The Triad Maneuver is a special team attack that can be performed when you have three party members and a full Ability gauge. Remember the Cactuar from the last break in the previous chapter? This time you can encounter him twice. The first location will be on the Terrace, and he will drop the Yugino's Crystal. If he does not show up, just reload and try again. After spending a couple of free hours in doing events and other stuff, he can be encountered for a second time in the Backgarden and will drop a Wizard's Hat. From now on you can undertake Expert Trials, optional sidemissions and completing them will unlock new spells and Eidolons. However, unlike the story mission, the Expert Trials can be a challenge because of the minimum LVL36 requirement. For now, leave the Expert Trials for later and begin first with following the four lessons that Moglin is offering. After that, let's complete some tasks right away. Head to the Central Command and speak with Kurasame. To complete this task, land 10 Break or Killsights on enemies. Do this in the Arena or replay a mission. After that, go to the Hallway and accept the task from Dr. Al-Rashia. Take your leave to the Arena and defeat three enemies with Fire RF. When you have completed the task, take a visit to the Sorcery Researcher in the Sorcery and give him 3 Green Phantoma, then go the Armory and give the 3 Tree Saps you have collected from Capparwires, to the Guildsman. Another task can be finished if you have 300 SPP, so head to the Lounge and hand over the SPP to the Administration Official. For the next one go to the Main Gate and give 3 Ethers to the Logistics Officer. There are two tasks left that only can be completed if you undertake the Expert Trial: United Front. Before you go there, I highly recommend to collect new weapons for your three main characters. You can unlock higher attack weapons by landing 200 Killsights at the Armory Shop. The best place for doing this is the Arena. Not only will you build up your Killsight score very easily, you will also gain some levels. The weapons cost 35,000 Gil each and that sounds a lot of money, but you should have gained enough for buying at least one weapon. For buying the rest, solo the first mission and complete it with a S Rank and together with the Elixirs you gain from the SOs, you can collect 9500 Gil each time. After buying the weapons, go to the Crystarium and accept the task from the Class Ninth Cadet, then go to the Main Gate and take the Expert Trial: United Front from the woman with the TRIAL icon above her head. Save, leave the school and go to the North Togoreth Region. Do some random battles in the forest until you encounter an Imperial Commander. Take him down so that the Troopers will surrender, this will fulfill the task you accepted from the Cadet back in Akademeia. For the leveling part, do random encounters in Togoreth Region until you reach LVL28, this should not take more then 20 minutes. Head back to Corsi and setup your party, but don't bother with magic or Eidolons because they are not allowed during the Expert Trial. Equip your best HP and DEF accessories and don't forget to equip healing items and the new weapons you have bought. Save, head to North Togoreth Region and interact with the town that is marked on your minimap to begin your the sidemission. ----------------------------------- EXPERT TRIAL 1: United Front (C3E1) ----------------------------------- SO REWARDS: ROOM [E] - x1 Thunderbolt Armlet ROOM [F] - x1 Sentinel Emblem (After disabling the last Antenna) ROOM [B] - x1 Platinum Deck ROOM [H] - x1 Blaze Armlet UNLOCKS: Eidolon Firebrand [G]-[H]-[I] | | | [F] | | _| -[M] | | | | [J]-[K] [E]- | | | | | [C]---[B]-[L] | | [D] [A] Your first mission is to dissable three antennas. After the meeting with a mysterious little woman, leave and go directly to [E]. Use attacks to destroy the barricade that is blocking the way and focus on killing the two snipers and then clear the room by defeating the remaining Troopers. After that, interact with the antenna in the middle of the square and stay in red circle until the antenna has been disabled. This will also complete the SO in this room if you have accepted it. Leave by taking the left north exit into [F], then go from there directly to [G] or if you want to do the SO in this area, take down the two Shock Troopers first. In the area [G] you will find the second antenna. Clear the room first and after disabling it go directly to [J]. This room can be a challenge, because you can't leave and there are snipers shooting you from all sides. Leave the snipers to your ranged character and focus on defeating the leader quickly by dodging his attacks and hitting him with Breaksights so he will be knocked down. When the leader is down, the doors will open again and the last antenna awaits behind the east gate [K]. When entering, take down the two Heavy Gunners standing in front of the antenna and the Trooper behind the broken wall, then defeat the new Troopers that spawn and when the enemy stops respawning interact with the antenna. After disabling the three antennas, your next mission will be taking down the Prometheus leaders that appeared in three different areas. For the first one, go to [B] and when entering stay on higher ground and use ranged attacks on Lieutenant Tucker. To complete the SO in this room, be sure to accept it before defeating her. For the next one, head directly to [E]. Keep an eye on the two Prometheuses when fighting Lieutenant Mugford, and when things get critical, backtrack to the exit you came from to recover. After the second leader is down, proceed through the north exit and go directly to [H]. Here you will face the last leader of the bunch, but the room is small this time and no place to hide. To complete the SO, focus on damaging one of the two normal Prometheuses and let your allies defeat him and after that, focus on defeating Lieutenant Wainwright. With the last leader down, the mission is completed and the Eidolon Firebrand will be available to you. Return to Academeia and head back to the Class Ninth Cadet for completing her request. Now that the ET: United front has been undertaken, the last task can be done together with the ET: The Keziah Diversion. Head to the Central Command and accept the task from the Dominion Officer, then visit the Main Gate and take the next sidemission. Leave to the World Map, make your way to North Togoreth Region where you can do some random encounters to defeat enough Perkunas for the task you accepted back in Akademeia. After that, make sure you save the game in Mi-Go. Prepare your party for the next Expert Trial and equip Cure or other magic. There are no limits this time. Head to Keziah, the only town left in North Togoreth, and begin the sidemission. ------------------------------------------- EXPERT TRIAL 2: The Keziah Diversion (C3E2) ------------------------------------------- ITEMS: ROOM [A] ' x1 Knowing Tag UNLOCKS: Bio -[B] | | [C]- | [A] Kill the marked enemy and grab the Knowing Tag from the dead body, then proceed to [B]. After entering, focus on the annoying Nymurod first, then kill the Troopers. With the barrier down, you can enter the final area [C] where you encounter some Troopers and Coeurls at the beginning. After taking them down, proceed further into the area and Lieutenant Colonel Lindemann with two Martinets will make his appearance. Before taking on the leader, destroy the Martinets first. The best strategy for destroying them is to wait for their tail attack that triggers a Killsight. With them out of the picture, you can concentrate on defeating Lindemann. Your best chance to defeat him is to utilize the Breaksights. A Breaksight will appear when he tries to punch you with his right arm or when he shoots one grenade. When he is in Rage mode, dodge the grenades and stay behind him. Defeating him will complete the mission. Back on the World Map, return to Akademeia and finish the task by speaking to Dominion Officer in the Central Command. Now that you have completed all the tasks, you can do some events and for the first one speak to Quon in the Crystarium. Quon will be the third person that can join Class Zero and for making your first friend, Moglin gives you an Elixir. For the next one go to the Armory and talk to Mutsuki for another event, she will be the fourth person that can join Class Zero. Head to the Lounge and give Carla the 1,000 Gil she asks for, then go to the Fountain Cartyard and speak with Orderly, a little girl that looks a lot like Aria. She will give you the Glass Pendant that is needed for an accessory later. After that, switch to Ace and interact with the bench in the Backgarden for an event, then play as Rem and interact with the door in the Sorcery for another event. There are still four hours left, but you can leave the rest for the second playthough. To start with the Mission Day, speak with Kasumi and choose ready to march. As always, the siren begins, and to proceed with the story, speak to Kurasame. After the briefing, you will recieve the magic, Protect. Instead of leaving Akademeia through the door at the Main Gate, you can take, from now on, the airship at the Airship Landing. --------- WORLD MAP --------- ITEMS: x1 Yuka's Crystal x1 Aegis tertia Vol II x1 Lazuline's Crystal Go to Mi-Go and enter the town. You will find here another gift shop and a shop that sells some accessories, but the only interesting items are the Teleport Stone and the Greens. You can also collect Yuka's Cystal by speaking to the four men and responding with the correct answers: "Just be casual with her," "With a friendly Heya!," "Smart colors," "like suave navy," and "Get a wild and sexy tan." There is a task that can be done when speaking to Moto that requires defeating ten Hundlegs in the Togoreth Region. After that, there is not much else to do in Mi-Go. Leave the town and head to Keziah. Keziah has one shop that sells the Gysahl Greens, so buy some if you want to breed chocobos. In front of the entrance, you can talk to a woman that needs help with delivering ten missives. Everytime you have delivered one, speak to her again for the next one. For the last missive you need some exta info. Talk to the male citizen that is standing to the right of the entrance at the end of the street, then deliver the last missive and return to the Dominion Quastor to recieve Lazuline's Crystal. To the right, in the second alley, you can talk to Nenji for a task, but leave this one for later as it can only be completed in chapter 5. Save and prepare yourself for the next story mission. If you have some Poison protection, equip them now. When ready, leave and interact with the first town in the Iscah Region to start the mission. =========================================== MISSION 4: The Infiltration of Iscah (C3M4) =========================================== ITEMS: ROOM [O] - x1 Knowing Tag ROOM [P] - x1 Knowing Tag SO REWARDS: ROOM [H] - x1 Ignis Terius Vol I ROOM [U] - x1 Elixir ROOM [Z] - x1 Phoenix Pinion ROOM [Z] - x1 Megalixir UNLOCKS: Eidolon Golom | [J] | | [H]-[I] | [E]-[C]-[D] | |_ [G]-[F] | [B] | [A] The Ankhegs you encounter here can poison you, so keep an eye on your health when that happens. In the first room you can speak to the woman to gain some info. Proceed through the north exit into room [B]. Interact with the drain valve marked on your minimap to lower the water. After the water is drained, go to the other side and leave the area into room [C]. Take the east exit to room [D] and place the first magicite. Then head back and take the west exit to [E]. Head forward and take the first exit to your left into [F]. Turn the drain valve and take the west exit into [G]. Head up the stairs and place the second magicite, then return to [E]. Now the water is drained, you can leave through the north exit into [H]. To complete the SO in this room, don't use magic for one minute. Proceed through the east exit, then go directly to [J] and place the last magicite. Head back to [H] and leave the area through the door marked on your minimap into [K]. -[P]- | | [N]-[M]- -[Q] | | _| [O] [L] | | |_ [R] -[T] | | | [K] [S]- | Use the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL and be sure to equip Lightning magic that will help you to complete the SO in the last area. Take the north exit into [L] where you encounter Troopers fighting some monsters. A timer will show up and you have to complete the mission within 25 minutes. Enter door that opens after the COMM Officer stops talking and turn the drain valve in [M]. While waiting for the water to be drained, kill the Ankegs that keeps spawning after you turned the drain valve. When the water is drained, go down the steps and turn left to the exit behind the valve that leads to [N]. Head through the small passage into [O] and grab the Knowing Tag in the back. Go back to [M] and leave through the east exit that takes you to [P]. Run down the stairs and go left towards the north side of the room where the path is blocked by an barrier. Defeat the marked enemy and grab the Knowing Tag near the exit, then leave and go directly to [S]. Use the RECOVERY PORTAL at the entrance if needed, then take down Second Lieutenant Leland and continue on to [U]. [Z] | [Y] | [X] | [V]- | -[W]-[U] | Defeat the marked enemy at the east side of the room and to complete the SO in this room, DON'T grab the shiny object before accepting it. After that, go up the steps and leave through the open door and go from there directly to [V]. Take down the Panjandrums and Supersoldiers you encounter and head into [X]. Run past the first Troopers and head up the stairs towards Corporal Helmutt. Defeat him and leave the room through the exit that was blocked by an barrier. In [Y] you will find a RECOVERY PORTAL. Heal your party and enter the exit to [Z]. Kill all of the Troopers you encounter and make sure to accept the SO before you take down the two snipers if you want to complete it. When they are down, Major Odilon will enter the area. Shortly after that another SO shows up and to complete this one hit him with Lightning magic. Defeating him will finish the mission and the Eidolon Golem will be available to you after that. --------- WORLD MAP --------- ITEMS: x1 Sentinel Emblem Back on the World Map, enter Iscah. The shop here has some nice accessories like the Metal Gloves, but you will get better ones for free in the second break. Here you can do a task by talking to Mayor Aoba to defeat two Imperial Commanders for him. You will encounter them outside the town on the World Map. After completing the task, new people have arrived in town. Speak with the big guy, Atra, in the back and listen to his story. He collects the l'Cie crystals you have found so far during your travels and there are in total 43 to collect. When you have collected all the crystals, deliver them to him and he will open his shop with one of the best items in the game. But don't get your hopes up too high because you can only obtain the last crystals at the end of the game, and therefore, it will not be possible to complete it until the second playthrough. Near the entrance, you will find a man that trades a FIR Enhancer for 50 Magenta Phantoma. Right now you probably don't have enough, but you can always return to him when you do. That includes everything you can do right now so let's return to Akademeia and watch some scenes. ============================== CHAPTER 3: Second Break (C3B2) ============================== ITEMS: x5 Megalixir x1 Protector Ring x1 Ether x1 Shock Shield x2 X-Potion x1 Crystal Shard x1 X-ether x1 Auric Ring x1 Phoenix Pinion x1 Hi-Potion x1 Flak Jacket x1 MP Enhancer x1 Maona's Crystal MAGIC: - Esuna - Fire BOM - Blizzard RF - Thunder BOM - Vermilion Bird After the cutscenes you're back at the main gate in Akademeia with 3d 12h on the timer and while you are at the Main Gate you can finish you first task by speaking to the Commissar. Once you have finished this one, go to the Central Command and accept the task from the Commandant which you can fulfill in the arena or by replaying a mission. For the next one head to the Sorcery and give the Sorcery Researcher one Purple Phantoma which will unlock the command Vermilion Bird. This is another command you can choose at the start of a mission and to make it stronger, upgrade it with Crystal Shards under the Promotion option at the Saving Point. While you are at the Sorcery, speak with Quon and stand watch for him. After the event with Quon, head to the Armory and hand over 5 Light Feather to the Guildsman. In the same room you speak with Cinque for an event that involves the fourth cadet, Ryid, that can join the class. Switch to Rem after that and visit the Ready Room. Speak first with Enra to complete his request and then talk to Carla for an event. When done, go to the Lounge and give 500 SPP to the administration Official. Leave the Lounge and switch to Ace for an event in the Backgarden by interacting with the bench, then play as Machina and watch an event by speaking to Rem on the Terrace. For another event, head to the Central Command and talk to Queen. After that, visit Classroom Zero and follow all of the four lessons that Moglin has to offer. You will learn some new magic spells from the lessons. After finishing all the lessons, go to the Crystarium and speak with the Class Ninth Cadet to accept her task. She wants you to capture three Imperial Troopers and to do that you have to leave the school. There are also two Expert Trials to do, so to spare your free time combine her task with the Epert Trial: The Clash in the Caverns. When ready, hop on one of your chocobos or take the airship to Mi-Go, and enter the Iscah Region. Do some encounters and capture three Imperial Troopers. When finished, enter Iscah and equip ice magic that is needed for an SO you can do in the next upcoming Expert Trial. Save, leave the town and enter Rokol Caves located northwest of the town. ----------------------------------------------- EXPERT TRIAL 3: The Clash in the Caverns (C3E3) ----------------------------------------------- SO REWARDS: ROOM [B] - x1 Mythril Gloves ROOM [E] - x1 Gold Bangle ROOM [F] - x1 Mythril Ring (After interacting with the case) ROOM [D] - x1 Phoenix Pinion UNLOCKS: Blizzard MIS [H] | [G] _| | [D]-[E]-[F] | [C] _| | [B]- | -[A] After entering the cave, head forward and take the exit into [B]. To complete the SO in this room, don't kill the Supersoldier before accepting it. When done, continue on to [E] where you can do another SO and to complete this one by destroing the Autoturrent. Take the east exit to loot a chest in [F]. Go back and take the north exit into [G] where you will encounter Second Lieutenant Lewis. To complete the SO here, be sure to accept it before you take him down. With the leader dead, proceed to the exit that was blocked by the barrier and enter [H]. The room here is filled with dead bodies, and in the middle, is the case you have to interact with. After interacting with the case, it will attract high level Flame Flans. Fighting them is not necessary because you only have to backtrack to the first area. But don't forget to make a stop in [D] if you want to complete the SO in that room. When you're back in the first room, approach the entrance to finish the mission. Return to Akademeia and visit the Crystarium to finish the task. With all the tasks being completed in Akademeia, the only thing left is the Expert Trial: Expelling the Empire. Head, as usual, to the Main Gate, take the Expert Trial and set-up your party at the Saving Point. Because this is a RTS mission, I recommend making your ranged character as the party leader and I do hope you have breed some War Chocobos as suggested back in the previous chapter. Save when you are ready, then leave the school and enter the Iscah Region. --------------------------------------------- EXPERT TRIAL 4: Expelling the Imperial (C3E4) --------------------------------------------- ITEMS: Room [B] - Knowing Tag (Rokol) Room [A] - Knowing Tag (Limbo) UNLOCKS: Eidolon Gigas ROKOL /|\ / | \ / | \ [D3] | ISCAH /\ | / / \ | / / \|/ LIMBO [D1] / / [D2] As soon the mission starts, head directly towards Domain 1 and defeat the Mid- Sized Carrier that appears from the right. After that, defend the Domain for 25 seconds against the enemy infantry. When you have defended the Domain successfully, go up to the northwest ruins and defeat the Autoturrent. Then make your way to Domain 2 and command the Blaze Troops to attack Rokol. Help them defeat the enemy Warrior troops to speed things up and when the barrier is down, invade the town of Rokol. [C]- | | [B] -[D] | - | | [A] When you enter, go directly to [B] and dispatch the Heavy Gunners first. Then focus on taking down Major Morgan. When he is defeated, grab the Knowing Tag from the dead body in front of the fence and take the exit on the higher ground into [C]. Leave the Striker Transporter alone as Moglin suggests and focus on killing Second Lieutenant Barto, then exit east into [D]. You will see Major General McCowan running away, so leave him for now and kill the two troopers first at the stairs. Then go up the stairs and defeat the two Prometheuses at the end. When you approach the General, a Supersoldier will appear. Kill him first and be cureful when he is in Rage mode. You can always take cover behind building if needed. With the Supersoldier out of the picture, you can beat the living hell out of the General. Now that the town is under Dominion control, Limbo will be the next target. Back on the World Map, two Mid-Sized Carriers make their way to Domain 1 and Rokol. Destroy them quickly and if they go to another target, follow and finish them off. For the next part, hop on a War Chocobo and help your troops with defeating the Colossus enemy troops, but don't attack them right away as you can't take them down with one hit. Instead, attack the Colossus army when your troops delivered the first attack, this should be a one hit kill with your War Chocobo. When Limbo is reached, wait until the barrier is down and invade the stronghold. [B]-- | --[A] To proceed, you have to defeat the Nymurods and some Troopers first. When they are down, the west gate will open and the path to [B] is free. Enter and take the steps towards the big open gate where Colonel Kinburn will meet you and prepare yourself for an hilariously easy fight compared to what you have been through to get here. With him down, you have completed the sidemission and another Eidolon has been added to your collection. Before heading back to Akademeia, visit Rokol and talk to Nana for a task. If you don't do this task now, you will have to wait until Chapter 5. Head outside the town, defeat six Evil Eyes and return to her to finish the task. After that, talk to the man across the entrance to accept his request and speak with all the Legionaries and Quaestors in this town, then return to him to recieve Maona's Crystal. There is also a gift shop in Rokol and another shop that sells equipment. Buy for next mission some Star Pendants that prevents poison. Return to Akademeia, skip the last four hours by speaking with Kasumi in the Central Command and begin Mission Day for the next story mission. Talk to Kurasame in Classroom Zero to hit a cutscene. --------- WORLD MAP --------- After the scene, leave the school and head to Rokol in the Iscah Region. When you enter Rokol, go to the marked spot on your minimap and speak to Naghi standing in front of the Striker Transporter. This seems to be the one you had to keep intact during the last sidemission. After some dialogue, you can interact with the transporter to start the mission, but before that, equip the Star Pendants you bought earlier and save the game. ========================================= MISSION 5: Operation MA Demolition (C3M5) ========================================= ITEMS: x1 Shock Buckler x1 Ballister Armor x20 Combat Ration SO REWARDS: ROOM [A] - Blizzard ROK ROOM [E] - Elixir ROOM [J] - Phoenix Down ROOM [K] - Sleipnir Tail ROOM [L] - Elixir ROOM [M] - Phoenix Down ROOM [N] - Elixir ROOM [Q] - Thorn Bow ROOM [R] - Silver Gloves ROOM [S] - Elixir ROOM [T] - Fulgur Secundus Vol. II ROOM [U] - Glacies Secunda Vol. II ROOM [V] - Iquis Secundus Vol. II ROOM [X] - Auric Ring ROOM [Z] - Magnati ROOM [Z] - Medical Kit 1ST BOSS - Rubicante 2ND BOSS - Tiz's Prayer UNLOCKS: Fire ROK XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX[EXIT]XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXX XX XX XXXXXXX XX XXXXXX X XXXX XX X XXX X [F] XX XX [*] XXX X X XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX X XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXX X X XXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX X XXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX X XXXXX XXX XXXXX [S] XXXX [*] X XXX XXXXX X X [F] XXXXXXXXX [F] X X XXXXXXXXXXXXX X XX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX X XXX XXXXXXXXXXXX X XXXX XXXXX [*] X XXXXXX [F] X X XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX XX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXX XXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX KEY: [F] Fuel [S] Start Location [*] Chest Location You will start the mission in the Azurr Region, and with the Striker Transporter, you can travel around to loot some chests while picking up fuel tanks to refill. The map above is a rough outline of the area and gives you a good indication where to find the fuel tanks and the three chests. When you are done, head north and enter the factory across the bridge to proceed with the story mission. | [A] If the flying robot and the Panjandrums will detect you, you will have to start over at the beginning of the area. Just stay out the green beams and the red circles and you will be fine. Head north into a narrow passage and when you reach the end of the wall, it will explode. Turn around past the two Pandjandrums and go down the ladder that appears behind a door. Reaching the ladder undetected will also complete the SO if you have accepted it. | [I] | [H]- | | | --[E]-- [G]- | | | | -[F] --[C]-- | | | | | -[D] [B] | You will end up in the sewers at [B]. This is a place where you can get lost easily. If you encounter a monster called Marduk, don't attack it! At the moment, he is too strong for you. Also, there is no point in clearing the rooms as the monsters will keep respawning the whole time, which can be very frustrating if you want to loot the chests. Head forward and take the right north exit into [C]. Take the first east exit on your right which takes you to [D] where you can loot a chest around the corner at the end. Back up into the previous room and enter the north exit into [E]. Go around the corner and leave through the exit into [F]. You can do a SO here, but be becareful with the Marduk around. Enter the south exit and you will end up in [D], but this time on the other side of the room. Here you can loot another chest, but as mentioned before, the monsters will make it almost impossible. Backtrack to [B] and take the left north exit and continue on to [G]. To complete the SO that appears in this room, you have to kill the Marduk, so there is no reason in accepting it. Take the right exit which takes you to [H] and loot the chest if you can, then backtrack all the way to [E] and leave through the west exit into [H]. Head towards the marked spot on your minimap that leads you to a ladder. Go up and you will end up in [G] with a SAVING POINT and a RECOVERY PORTAL. You don't need the poison protection anymore, so you can exchange it for something else. Als be sure to equip Thunder BOM! When ready, head up the ladder that takes you to [J]. [M] | [N]---[L] ||_ | [K] | | | | | | [O] | [Q] -[J]---- | | ----[P] At the first Panjandrum in front of you go left around the container. Then go right and between the two Panjadrums where you will find the lab [K]. If you accepted the SO, reaching this lab undetected will complete it. Once you enter the lab, look through the blue window and check for a small box with red light on top of it. This is the alarm, and to complete the SO here you have to make sure that the Lab Researchers do not sound the alarm. Your best chance to succeed is to destroy the alarm quickly with Thunder BOM. A bit harsh, but kill the Lab Reasearchers to recieve a keycard and interact with the computer marked on your minimap. Leave the lab and go right, up to the higher part and stick to the left wall until you reach the exit that takes you to [L]. Stick to the right side of the room and go north until you reach the second lab. Reaching it undetected will also complete the SO. Enter the lab [M] and do the same as you did in the first lab. Same goes with the SO you can do here. After that, leave and follow the yellow marker on your minimap and take the east exit into [N]. Go left, then right, and stick to the right wall until you reach the last lab [O] and if you accepted the SO, you will complete it when reached undetected. Enter the lab, do your thing and then backtrack to [J]. Go through the big door in the south that takes you to [P] and make use of the SAVING POINT and a RECOVERY PORTAL. Leave the room by taking the stairs and you will hit a cutscene. After the cutscene, you will end up in [Q] where you encounter Lieutenant Kleimann. If you want to do the SO, land only one Breaksight on him and then deplete his health enough so you can finish him of with a Killsight. Once he is defeated, you can continue on to [R]. -------[T] | | [S] [U] | _| |__ | | [W] [R] | | [V] | [X] | [Y] | [Z] Destroy the Warrior, then take cover behind the wall and wait for the door behind you to open. To complete the SO, just stay behind the wall and don't get hit for five minutes. Go through the open door and take down Lieutenant Steiner and his crew that enters or go directly to the next area [S]. To lower the gate that blocks the path to the other side, you have to defeat the marked enemy. To complete the SO here, don't kill the Shock Trooper before accepting it, there is only one of them. When the gate lowers, go to the other side and defeat the remaining Troopers. Take the exit to [T] and clear the first part of the room. When the gate is down, go to the other side where you will encounter Lieutenant Werner, but you don't have to defeat him if you want to continue on with the mission. To complete the SO in this area, kill seven enemies. Act quickly, otherwise there won't be enough left to kill thanks to your party members. Once you enter [U] you can take a small break. Save at the SAVING POINT and then take the south exit into [W]. After entering, don't kill the Troopers yet if you want to do the SO. First accept it, then defeat them and collect their Phantoma. DON'T cross the bridge yet if you don't want to loose your active party leader. Cast Reraise or use a Phoenix Pinion, then cross the bridge. At the end of the bridge, Nimbus shows up and kills your party leader, but thanks to the Reraise status, that character will be brought back to life. Continue on to [V]. To do the SO in this room, accept it before taking down any of the Shock Troopers. When the gate is lowered, proceed to the other side of the room where you encounter Sergeant Major Maximilian and some other Shock Troopers you need to defeat to complete the SO. When done, take the south exit into [X]. After entering, you can accept another SO that requires defeating three Martinets. Proceed south and exit this area into [Y] and make use of the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL. In the next area, there are two SOs to do, and for the first one I recommend equiping Fire SHG. When ready, leave the exit into [Z]. The enemy will activate a Colossus right after you enter. For the first SO, this will be the best moment to accept it because when the Colossus is defeated, the first pilot you have to kill will appear immediately northwest of the room. The second one will appear southwest right after the first, and the third, Lieutenant Enriquez will appear southeast. Killing them before they activate one of the Colossuses will complete the SO, but don't worry if you fail the first time. I tried it a couple of times with my ranged character, and I found Magic SHG a better solution. After the third pilot is dead, Lieutenant Commander Charlot enters with some Troopers at his side. For the second SO, land 3 Killsights on the Troopers. When you have defeated the Commander, a SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL will appear. There are two boss fights waiting for you and your party members will likely not survive there brutal attacks, therefore I recommend to solo this part with the ranged character. Save and leave through the south exit and get ready for battle. ------------------- BOSS FIGHT: Brionac ------------------- Upon entering, go foward to let the boss appear and then run back to the entrance you came from, as his attacks can't reach you there. When he lifts his both arms and starts spinning, approach him and land Killsights on the Strikers he send at you. By destroying them, they will fly back and can stun him. When he is stunned, you can land several Breaksights. Repeat this and when his health is completely depleted, finish him off with a Killsight. To complete the SO in this battle, you have to defeat the boss within five minutes. After he is taken down, you will be brought into the next boss fight against Nimbus. ------------------ BOSS FIGHT: Nimbus ------------------ To continue on with the story, you don't have to win this battle, the fight will end normally if all party members are KO'd. But that's no fun, right? Besides that, there is a SO to do during this fight that rewards you with an interesting item and surviving this fight is not that hard to be honest. During the fight, he disappears for a short time after he performs an attack. Just keep an eye on the minimap to see where he will appear next. Sometimes he appears in the middle of the room and performs a close combat attack, when that happens dodge away from him. When he shows up to the far sides and starts casting symbols on the ground, dodge to a corner and wait there until he teleports again. After a while, you will hear an announcement by the Imperial COMM Officer and Nimbus will teleport to the end of the room for an final attack. Stay at the left or right wall of the room and let him finish his large straightforward beam attack. After that, he will leave the battle ground followed by some cutscenes. =====----------------------------------------------- CHAPTER 4: The Last Queens Return to Oblivion (C4C4) =====----------------------------------------------- ============================= CHAPTER 4: First Break (C4B1) ============================= ITEMS: x2 Hi-Potion x1 Aria's armulet After the cutscenes, you end up in a hotel. Don't leave yet if you want to see the events of the Class Zero members that are staying in the hotel, they will be gone if you leave. However, there are no consequences, so you are free to talk to whomever you want, but don't spend the last hours until you have visited all the areas or you will miss some interesting scenes. If you're ready, talk to the Imperial Quaestor in front of the door and leave the hotel. Outside you can make use of the Armory Shop and the Combat Simulation if you want, but more importantly, speak twice to Aria and she will trade the Glass Pendant for a nice accessory. Enter the next area and speak to Piett, the Supersoldier facing the entrance, for another fun event. Try to remember this guy. Go to the last area and you will hit a scene. In the same area you can accept a task, but leave this one for the second playthrough. It's not impossible to complete the task during your first playthrough, but you need the SP Crystal by reaching the rank Guardian God (120,000 SPP, I believe). Leave the area to see a cutscene with Machina which will not show up if it's already Mission Day. After spending your time by talking to people, go back to the first area and watch a scene, then talk to the man in front of the hotel and go inside for more cutscenes. ================================================ MISSION 6: Escaping the Imperial Capital (CH4M6) ================================================ SO REWARDS: Room [A] - Elixir Room [C] - Vitality Appratus Room [D] - Elixir Room [E] - Blizzard ROK-II Room [F] - Rune Rapiers Room [I] - Elixir Room [K] - Phoenix Down Room [L] - Elixir Room [L] - Mega Elixir Room [L] - Phoenix Down Room [L] - Room [L] - Ribbon Room [O] - Rune Daggers Room [N] - Stormwyrm Armlet (After the train) Room [B] - Firewyrm Armlet Room [D] - Argentic Ring Room [D] - Fulgur Essentia Room [F] - Gold Bangle Room [I] - Thunder ROK-II Room [J] - Rune Saber Room [K] - Inis Tertius Vol. I Room [L] - Aegis Secunda Vol. II Room [M] - Elixir Room [N] - U1-Shock Damper Room [Q] - Silver Gloves Room [Q] - Silver Bangle UNLOCKS: Thunder ROK | [H] | [F]-[G] | [E] | [D]--- | [C] | [B] | [A] As soon as you start in the first area, two Troopers attack you in the hallway. When you have killed them, go left and defeat the remaining enemies, then proceed to the other part of the room and leave through the north exit or complete the SO first by colleting the two shiny objects from the desk in the northern part of the room. Make use of the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL in [B], then take the exit into [C] and you will be outside. Take down the marked enemy so that the barrier between the trucks will drop, then proceed north to the other part of this area and defeat Corporal Evand at the end. If you have accepted the SO, killing the leader will complete it. Go north to [D] where you will encounter Piett. When his health is depleted, he will flee the area. To complete the SO here, harvest the Phantoma of the three Shock Troopers. Take the same exit as Piett that leads into [E]. When you enter, the gates on both sides will close and a Mid-Sized Carrier will drop some Troopers. Kill the marked enemies and the SO in this area requires you to destroy the Carrier. After that, take down Second Lieutenant Davis, who jumps over the north gate, and then leave through the same gate into [E]. Defeat the Troopers and the Colossus that appear around the corner. Land three Breaksights on him to complete the SO here. Continue east through the gate and defeat Captain Frost at the end. Then take the east exit leading to the underground [G]. In the first room, there is a SAVING POINT and a RECOVERY PORTAL. Save and take the north exit into [H]. | [P]-[O]-[M] | [L] || [N]- | [K] | [J] | [I] | Go past the incoming train and head towards the north exit where Second Lieutenant Dawson will enter the room. Defeat him and loot the surrendered soldiers, then proceed north to [I] and watch a short cutscene. After the scene, head to the east side of the room and take down Major Randolph, then accept the SO if you want and collect the three items in this room to complete it. Enter the next area [J] and watch a scene, introducing Supersoldier Akkad, a very though guy but beatable at this stage. If you want to do the SO, just stay in the same room for one minute. If he comes too close, dodge away from him to the other side. In the next several areas, Akkad will keep following you so keep an eye on him. Continue on to [K]. After you enter [K], take down Warrant Officer Raymond at the end of the room, but if you are planning to complete the SO then defeat the three troopers first and collect their Phantoma. With Akkad on your heels, head north into [L] and lock-on the Trooper to ensure that the other members will not attack him. This is needed to complete the SO in this room and there is only one Trooper. You can leave the Colossus alone and continue on by following the yellow marker into [M]. When you enter, it is better not to attack Captain Norman and let him flee the area as this will give you the possibility to do a SO later that will otherwise unavailable if you kill him right now. Interact with the panel marked on your minimap and Moglin advises you to follow Norman to retrieve the gate card. Well, that was the plan anyways. Go back to the previous area and defeat Lieutenant McKean. To do the SO here, you have to take him down with the character you control. After that, you can complete three more SOs in the same area and they all have to do with mister Akkad. The first one is hitting him three times with magic, ranged magic will be the safest solution. For the second one you have to land three Breaksights and only his vertical slash will trigger it. When succeeded, a third SO will show up and for completing this one, you have to defeat him. It's completely optional and the only reward is a Rubruc Entry, but the fight itself is totally worth it and the SO rewards are not that bad either. ---------------------------------- OPTIONAL FIGHT: Supersoldier Akkad ---------------------------------- You probably have to reload the game to set up your party properly. Make your ranged character the active leader and equip him with Cure. Give Avoid to your other characters. It's also a good idea to remove any other magic spells, otherwise they will burn through their MP quickly. If you have items that can cast Aura, equip them. Aura will double the damage and the faster you can beat him the better. If you took the command, Triad Maneuver at the start of the mission, then this can also help you deplete his health much faster. Akkad will first walk very slow and only uses two attacks. A horizontal spinning attack and a vertical slash attack. His vertical attack triggers Breaksight, but landing a Breaksight only does little damage to him and isn't really worth the risk. That's why a ranged character is a much better choice. Keep attacking him from a safe distance and when he is approaching you, dodge away from him and keep attacking. Once you have depleted his second health bar for a quarter, he will become more aggressive. From this point on, he will charge three times at you at full speed that can knock you down. Just keep dodging away from him. When he is done with running, try to dodge in circles around him and hope that he will do his new whirling attack. If you're lucky, he will perform that attack, and you can stun him if you hit him with a Breaksight that appears after his last spin when he raises his sword. This is how you have to beat him. When he is stunned, switch to your character that can do the most damage and cast Aura. Repeat the same strategy when he stands up again. When you almost depleted his second-to-last health bar, his attacks become more dangerous. He will keep attacking the same way, but every time he swings with his sword, he will shoot blood projectiles at you. To avoid getting hit, never dodge away or towards him, but always dodge to the sides. Keep repeating the same strategy as before and try to trigger his whirling attack. For your party members to survive, this will be the most difficult part, but thanks to Avoid they will have a good chance to stay alive. When your health is low, take cover behind one of the trains and heal. The SO reward for beating him is a Ribbon, a rare item in this game and gives you protection against almost every status effect. Take the south exit into [N] and take down McKean to obtain the key. For the SO in this room, you need to collect three items. They can be found on the yellow crates. When finished, return to the room with the panel and activate it, then leave through the open door into [O]. After the cutscene, use the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL and then go to the exit that takes you to the last area [P]. Moglin suggests to hop on the train, but you only have three minutes and the path is blocked by a barrier. Taking down Lieutenant Neill on the other side of the room will do the job. To complete the SO here, collect the three items that are on top of the yellow boxes. One is close to the entrance and two are near the ramp that leads to the train you have to hop on. At last, take the train to leave the underground. | [R] | [Q] There is a SAVING POINT and a RECOVERY PORTAL you can use in the first part of the train [Q]. When ready, head forward into [R] and a second train will approach with the enemy. You will encounter a new type of enemy, the Airborne Trooper. Stay at the rear to avoid his flame attack and dodge his missiles, both attacks will trigger a Breaksight. Proceed north up the ramp and drop down the bridge to get access to the other train. Cross the bridge and go to the right where you can pick up a HP Enhancer at the end. Turn around and head forward down the ramp where a group of Troopers are charging at you. At that same time a SO will pop up, so accept it right away if you want to complete it. With all the enemies defeated, the train trip will come to a end. [L] | _|| | | | | [M][K] | | | --[N]-- [J] | [D]--[E]-[F] | | | | -[C] -[G] | | [A]-[B] [H] | [I] Save and heal if needed and then take the steps to [B]. Kill the marked Troopers while going up to the higher ground and head towards the north exit where two trucks arive with more Troopers. When those Troopers run towards you, a SO will pop up. Accept it right away so that there will be enough enemies to land two killsights. When they are defeated, the gate opens and Second Lieutenant Allan with a Trooper enters the area, but DON'T kill the Trooper since he has the key that opens the backdoor of the trucks. A nice suprise awaits you inside the trucks. When you enter [C], ignore the enemy you encounter at the start and head towards the west gate where Captain Hallway will fly over the gate to stop you. Take him down and use the key he drops to obtain the items you can find in the back of the trucks. After that, leave the area into [D]. Go around the corner and approach the barricade. A big magitek armor that looks like a Scorpion, will rush towards you. Just stay where you are and wait for her to jump. This will trigger a Breaksight, and if you hit her, she will drop to the ground in front of you. After you depleted her health for a bit, she retreats to higher ground and starts firing missiles at you. At that same time, a SO will appear. If you want to complete it, take cover first and then accept it. To proceed in this area, let her destroy the truck at the first barricade and do the same at the next barricade. Behind the second barricade is the exit, but don't leave yet as there is a second SO to do. However, this one can only be completed if you have abilities that can cover a long distance like Ace's Burst attack because normal ranged attacks can't reach her. When done, enter the door to your right that takes you in a small room [E] where the exit is blocked by a barrier. Wait for Vajra to give up, and when she leaves, you can exit this area into [F]. Make use of the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY POINT and take the stairs that leads to [G]. Head north into the hallway and a Snow Giant will appear around the corner. Don't damage him yet if you want to do the SO, otherwise, he will not have enough health to take three Breaksight hits that is needed to complete it. When he is defeated, enter the first left exit which takes you into [H]. Go down the stairs and defeat all of the Bat Eyes you encounter in this room. With the barrier gone, proceed south and enter [I] where two Snow Giants await you. The SO in this room requires you to defeat them with the character you control. Pick up the 3 Supports Serums that are scattered around and backtrack to [G] and take the other exit into [K]. When you enter the room, DON'T grab the shiny object in front of the entrance, otherwise you can't complete the SO here. Kill all the Evil Eyes and enter the north room [K] where you will encounter your first Behemoth. There are two SOs in this room, the first one is landing two Breaksights on the monster and second one requires you to kill him with your party leader. After the Behemoth is defeated, a raged Piett will enter the room. Now you can finaly put a end of his chicken behavior, and for that you will recieve a Hi-Potion. Leave through the door and you will end up outside in [L]. Upon entering, a giant wyvern will fly away and seems to not have the intention of stopping you at this moment. Use the SAVING POINT and RECOVERY PORTAL and then go down the stairs that takes you to [M] Down the stairs a SO will appear, it's wise to take this before killing the Troopers since you need three Phantoma to complete it. Approach the edge of the building and Vajra will show up again. Damage her until she retreats to the left side. When all the Troopers are dead, you can go to the left and face Vajra for a second time. A new SO will appear, and like before, you have to damage her enough until she retreats. Go down the stairs to the lower ground and take the south exit into [N]. Take down the two Supersoldiers behind the trucks and then go toward the RECOVERY PORTAL where Major Tovay and another Colossus will enter the area. Use the fuel tanks scattered in this area to complete the SO, and when you receive the key after defeating the leader, you can complete a second one. When done, leave through the west exit and you will end up in [O]. Save at the SAVING POINT and leave the room for the final fight with Vajra. ----------------- BOSS FIGHT: Vajra ----------------- This battle is not that hard since almost every attack she performs will trigger a Breaksight that stuns her for a short moment. If she starts shooting missiles at you, just run from side to side to avoid it. When you depleted her health to a certain point, she will climb the building to heal. When that happens, make sure to hit her with Breaksights as this will interupt the healing process. When her health is almost depleted, she charges her attacks with electricity that can do a lot more damage than her regular attacks and she becomes more aggressive. Try to finish her off quickly if she is in that state and keep dodging away if she is charging at you. When you have completely depleted her health, she becomes immobile and you can finish her of with a Killsight which will end the mission. It's better to wait with attacking her if you want to complete the two SOs you can do during this fight as the second SO requires thirty hits on her to complete it and you want the boss to have enough health left. The first SO only appears when she fires for the first time a big missile at you that is coming out of her tail. You can't lock on the missile, so instead, lock on the boss and wait for the missile to be close enough, then attack it. Do this twice to complete the SO and immediately after that the second SO will appear. ============================== CHAPTER 4: Second Break (C4B2) ============================== ITEMS: x1 Turbo ether x1 Mega Potion x2 Hi-Potion x1 Anshar's Crystal x1 Qun'mi's crystal After a series of cutscenes, you end up at the Deserted House in Old Lorica Region and during this break Machina will leave the party. Talk to the four ladies around the campfire for an event, followed by a cutscene and after that, Machina will return. Deuce has recieved a message from the COMM speaker that the Airship is awaiting for them in the Jubania Region, but before heading out, grab Anshar's Crystal near the SAVING POINT on the veranda first. When you enter the World Map, Moglin will tell you about a cave north from here where high level monsters are roaming. That cave offers some interesting stuff, but let's leave it for later. Also when entering this region, there is chance that a Fleet Chocobo will spawn nearby the Deserted House. It's a good idea to catch some if you want to breed stronger chocobos. From the forest, go north towards the blast site and pick up Qun'mi's Crystal near the edge. Leave Old Lorica by foot, as you can't summon a chocobo at this moment, and board the Airship that is waiting for you in the Jubanina Region. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V.
