------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------[Steel Diver]--------------------------------- ------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]------------------------------ ---------------------------------[Nintendo 3DS]-------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o Steel Diver is a submarine simulation game that I found to be a very good game that is challenging. Choose 1 of the 3 submarines that vary by challenge but all objectives are still the same. You got to complete each level three times. Once for each ship. o---------------------o OVERVIEW o---------------------o The year is 19XX. A power-hungry rouge nation has been invading its neighboring countries, placing the stability of the entire world in danger. In order to preserve the peace, a secret submarine fleet, chosen from the best and the brightest of the world's navies has been formed. They are known as the Steel Divers. o---------------------o SHIPS o---------------------o ND-01 Mantee (Compact) Captain: Luc Fisher Length: 19m Beam: 2.7m Engine: 1800 HP Crew: 11 A highly maneuverable sub that can fire missiles vertically. ND-03 Blue Shark (Midsize) Captain: Ben Triton Length: 28m Beam: 3.4m Engine: 2900 HP Crew: 24 A balanced, all around sub. ND-05 Serpent (Large) Captain: Dante Cruz Length: 38m Beam: 4.9m Engine: 4000 HP Crew: 40 A powerful sub with limited maneuverability. o---------------------o WALKTHROUGH o---------------------o ********************** * MISSIONS * ********************** Play through the campaign or time-trial missions. Campaing - Complete the mission objectives. --Training-- Here you'll learn the basics of piloting submarines. Each submarine has different controls. Pilot them all to familiarize yourself with them. Use the bottom meter to move back or forward. Use the meter on the right to dive (go down) or surface (go up). If a homing missile comes, press the masker button. This works on heat mines as well. You use up some of your air supply when masking your ship. If you return to the surface you can restore your air supply and your health. When you see a ship, use verital missiles or adjust the pitch (angle) of your ship to destroy it with missiles. Towards the end, use your missiles to destroy the weak walls and proceed to the end of the level. Mantee only: The Mantee will adjust its pitch (angle) depending on the position of the meters. Ex: Full forward and full dive will tilt it downward while full surface will tilt it upwards. Mantee can fire missiles upward which are more powerful than regular missiles. Blue Shark only: You can fire up to 2 missiles. You can adjust the pitch of your sub by moving the lever up or down. Use this to manuever through angles when the ship is moving. Touch the center to level the sub out. Serpent only: You can fire up to 4 missiles. You can adjust the pitch of your sub by twisting the handle to left for up and to the right for down. Just like with the Blue Shark, touch the center to level out the sub. --Mission 1: Frontline Base-- Aerial recon has located an enemy base. Capturing it will give us a foothold in the area. Your mission is to find a way into the base so we can deploy our troops. Tip: Stay on the surface of the level and destroy the ship then look at your map and dive when you see the terrain apporaching then manuever under it and avoid the mine and the missile being fired at you. Destroy the submarine then resurface. Destroy the ship there and stay on top until you get to the wall and dive and destroy the weak blocks. Surface to finish the level once you are past the wall. --Mission 2: Jungle Canal-- Your mission is to find a way through this jungle canal. It sounds simple enough, but out enemies are attempting the same thing, so be on your guard. Good luck! Tip: Use your missiles to destroy the rocks then maneuver through the terrain. There is only one mine to worry about in the early going. When you are able to surface again, keep moving forward and destroy the ship above that is dropping depth charges. You will eventually come across a fork. Use the top one to get a boost from an underwater stream and surface if you need to restore your health and at the end of the fork, destroy the rock you come across. --Mission 3: Undersea Cave-- Reports indicate that hostile subs have infiltrated this undersea cave! They'll cut our supply lines if we don't put a stop to them. Make your way through the cave and find the other entrance! Tip: The terrain here is very tricky. There are plenty of submarines in this level but most of them are in the background and can't be destroyed. There are some air pockets you can use to restore air and health and eventually you got to maneuver through volcanic rocks falling from above. If you are fast enough, then they won't be any hassle at all. Destroy the submarine at the end of the volcanic area then get through the mines and surface to end the level. --Mission 4: The Depths-- Our deep-sea research vessel was attacked by an unidentified sea creature! This sea-lane is important to us, so you've got to stop whatever it was that attacked our ship. Tip: This time you'll be moving downwards and there is only two air pockets in the level. Dive to the bottom as much as possible. There are no enemies to face at this point. You will notice that you must somehow destroy the floor below. Shoot the stand holding the buddah rock and said rock will tumble down and it will destroy the floor and anything below it including your submarine so don't be below it when it tumbles. Keep diving again and avoid the mines and destroy the green submarine if you can then shoot two levels of columns to make the next buddah rock through the next floor. Be sure to restore your sub in the air pocket then proceed down the bottom again. Use your masker to get through the Heat Mines safely. Get that enemy submarine out of your hair then fire at a column to make the buddah rock roll down and block the upstream. There are three more mines to get through then go right and restore the sub and continue forward. The boss is not that tough at all. It is some time shelled sea crab that moves back and forth. Aim your missiles to hit it in the flesh. Missiles will not harm its shell. After a few hits, jet streams appear. It takes five hits to defeat the boss. --Mission 5: Preemptive Strike-- Enemy forces are preparing to launch an attack! An advanced enemy battleship is leading the hostile fleet. Your mission: find the enemy's flagship and send her to the bottom! Tip: Staying on the surface is a bad idea this time around. A bunch of missiles will rain down from the sky and strike you with ease and the ships fire their own missiles as well. There are three to contend with as well as some heat mines that are a pains. When you maneuver beneath the terrain, stay near the top and avoid the submarines. When you can surface again, do so and recharge. The boss battleship is up ahead. There are two ways to fight the boss. You can stay on the side of it at the surface and shoot missiles at it all day and only back up when it starts to come at you or you can swim under it and wait for it to open its hull below and shoot missiles inside of it. The latter strategy does more damage and is easier to do with the Mantee. When it is low on energy, it will retreat to the back and start firing missiles everywhere. Survive the onslaught and wait for it to return to the foreground and finish it off. --Mission 6: The Arctic Circle-- **Finish the first five missions with all ships to access this level** Our polar base has reported hostile destroyers in its vicinity. Enemy airships are patrolling for surface ships, so we haven't been able to get supplies to the base. Now it's your turn to try. --Mission 7: Enemy Stronghold-- **Finish the first six missions with all ships to access this level** If the submarine being built in this base is completed, it will place the entire world in danger. You must find the sub's construction site and destroy it before it launches. Good luck. ******************************************************************************* Time Trials - Race against the clock. --Course 1-- Difficulty: * A basic course of curves and straighways. --Course 2-- Difficulty: ** If you mind the tight curves, you'll make it. --Course 3-- Difficulty: ** Maneuver ariund the giant, moving obstacles to make it to the finish! --Course 4-- Difficulty: *** This course is a straight shot, but squeezing past the moving blocks is tricky. --Course 5-- Difficulty: *** Watch out for the two large, moving blocks. --Course 6-- Difficulty: **** This course will test your steering skills. Avoid the obstacles and mind the currents. --Course 7-- Difficulty: **** Use the currents to make it through the curves. --Course 8-- Difficulty: ***** Plot your path through the giant blocks to reach the goal. ********************** * PERISCOPE STRIKE * ********************** Hunt for enemy ships with your periscope. --Enemy Ships & Enemy Ships in a Storm-- Use your periscope to find enemy ships. Remember to account for your target's speed and distance before firing. --Enemy Submarines-- You won't be able to see enemies that are far away. Rely on your sonar! Tip: Tap the radar screen to use the sonar. ********************** * STEEL COMMANDER * ********************** A strategy game playable via Download Play. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o GameFAQs and other sites for hosting GameFly for renting this out game out to me.
