Introduction ============================================= [A01] What is the Ducal Restaurant? ============================================= The Ducal Restaurant is a location within High Lagaard, available to the player around the time they reach the second floor. Sometime upon returning to town, Minister Dubois will ask your help regarding a matter, which will lead to the restaurant being opened and run by his granddaughter, Regina. ============================================= [A02] What is the purpose of the restaurant? ============================================= The café's aim is to serve the food of Apicius, a deceased former chef of High Lagaard who, due to the harsh climate of the city being unsuitable for growing crops, created food using the ingredients found in the Yggdrasil Labyrinth. The citizens of the town enjoyed his cuisine, due to the supernatural effects it would imbue them with. Due to his secretive nature, however, his recipes were lost upon his passing until recently, though they are still decoded. The player's goal is to gather the ingredients hinted at within each recipe and recreate them, with Regina serving the food to the player for a small fee. Each meal has its own unique beneficial effect that will last until overwritten (with a few exceptions). If you've played previous entries in the series, this system is akin to the cooking system in Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan and the Guildkeeper's Prepare option in Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl. ============================================= [A03] What can I do here? ============================================= When the game begins, a limited number of options are available in the restaurant. As you complete more recipes, however, new features will open up. Grimoire Trading and Recycling, for instance, are available after developing a district. * Restaurant o Develop Dishes: Create new recipes. o Prepare: Remake a previously created recipe. The effect of a currently active recipe can also be canceled here. o Advertise: Market your prepared recipes towards a particular district of town to make money. Later in the game, the Gourmet King can appear, which will allow you to sell any food to him, causing anyone in the district to eat what you purchase. Festivals have a similarly positive effect. o Town Development: Using your en to develop a district further in order to increase the number of customers at your restaurant and obtain better Grimoire Stones from your guests. o Ingredient Storage: Your inventory of ingredients. o Guild House: Switches to the Guild House menu. * Guild House o Grimoire Stones: ? Equip Grimoire: Menu for equipping Grimoire Stones to your characters. ? Grimoire Trade: Unlocked after developing the town.
