So I've been playing this Game for quite awhile now and I noticed that no one had put up a Guide for the Challenges in this Game at the time I started this Guide. So what's that mean? It means I'm still going to do the Guide, so if another came out while I was doing this one, I'll still do this one and submit it. My e-mail is listed at the top of this Guide, so if at anytime you notice that there's a mistake or if there's an easier way to complete a Challenge, shoot me an e-mail and if it's noteworthy, I'll update the Guide and give you credit. Now, when I say that, it means for basic completion. For example, for the Classic Mode 9.0 Intensity Challenge, I used a customized Kirby. I'm aware that many of you will no doubt use a different Character you're familar with and e-mail me with that info. That type of info won't be used because if I were to jot down everyone's preference, this Guide would be much longer than it needs to be. This Guide is meant to be short with as much detail in the shortest amount of words possible to make it easy to understand and execute. Well, enough prattle... Let's get to it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2) How It Works [HOWIT] Anyone who's played Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii knows how the Challenge System works. When you access the Challenegs Screen, you'll notice a blank canvas covered in squares. When an exposed Challenge is available, highlighting it will give a small clue on how to complete that Challenge. In the beginning however, none of them will be exposed until at least one Challenge is completed. When a Challenge is completed, you'll not only get a prize like a Trophy or Custom Item, you'll expose Challenges one square to the Right, Left, Upper, and Lower areas of the Challenge Square you just completed. Now, that part is still the same from SSBB. However, some things have changed in this Game. For starters, there are three Challenge Panels each with 35 Challenges. While you only start with one Panel in the beginning, you'll unlock the other two as you complete Challenges. Now, you do not have to unlock a Challenge Panel to complete it's Challenges. For example, on Panel 2, one Challenge is to collect 150 Unique Trohpies. If you complete this Challenge before unlocking Panel 2, it will clear automatically after unlocking the Panel. What's that mean? It's means use this Guide to complete as many Challenges as you can without worrying about limitations! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * A) Challenges [HOWCH] Challenges are split into several Categories that can be completed in any order and, most of the time, with any Character. The categories are listed in the categorial listing in Section 7. However, they're listed without discriptions, so just use the CTRL + F function to find what you're looking for in Sections 5, 6, and 7. These Categories are as follows: -> General Play This is what it says. This includes how long you play the Game, unlocking Characters and Stages, etc. -> Classic These Challenges are exclusive to the Classic Mode in the Solo Section of Games & More. -> All-Star These Challenges are exclusive to the All-Star Mode in the Solo Section of Games & More. I do believe you can complete all these Challenges without the True All-Star Mode unlocked, though correct me if I'm wrong. -> Training These Challenges are exclusive to the Training Mode in Games & More. -> Multi-Man Smash These Challenges are exclusive to the Multi-Man Smash Modes in the Stadium Section of Games & More. -> Target Blast! These Challenges are exclusive to the Target Blast! Mode in the Stadium Section of Games & More. -> Home-Run Contest These Challenges are exclusive to the Home-Run Contest Mode in the Stadium Section of Games & More. -> Smash Run These Challenges are exclusive to the Smash Run Mode. -> Smash (Multiplayer) These Challenges are exclusive to the Smash Mode which is the Game's Multiplayer Mode. It has been labled as (Multiplayer) to avoid confusion with Smash Run as a Category. Now, you can do all these on your own, though some are easier with friends who have the Game. -> Customization These Challenges are exclusive to the Custom Mode in Games & More. -> Vault These Challenges are exclusive to the Vault Section of Games & More. Challenges include collecting Trophies or completing milestones in the Trophy Rush Game. -> StreetSmash These Challenges are exclusive to the StreetPass Game, StreetSmash. All but one of these Challenges can actually be completed in the Practice Mode. It's accessed by the StreetPass Option from the Main Menu. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * B) Golden Hammers [HOWHA] Challenge Squares that are a lighter blue color than the rest contain a Golden Hammer. SSB Brawl players will remember what they are. Those who don't, here's a recap: When you complete the Challenge that has the Golden Hammer, you'll gain that Hammer which can be used to automatically complete a single Challenge and gains it's prize without actaully completing the Challenge itself. Unlike Brawl however, Hammers can only be used on the Panel they were gained on, though you can unlock three per Panel. However, some Challenges on Panels 2 and 3 cannot be unlocked using Golden Hammers. They will be pointed out in the Challenges' description as well as in the Panel Introductions. Now, I wasn't sure if you could use a Golden Hammer on a Challenge that yields a Golden Hammer, but a someone named Tanner shot me an e-mail that said you could. Since I don't use them myself, I can't confirm that, but I assume the tip legitimate. Also of note is that if you do use a Hammer to clear a Challenge, a Hammer symbol will appear next to the picture on the top screen. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * C) Modes [HOWMO] Just like Brawl, there's a lot of Modes in this Game. Here's a brief rundown of these Modes: -> Classic Mode Found in the Solo Section of Games & More, you'll play through 6 Stages with a Boss being found at Stage 6. Stages 1 to 5 can be made up of several matches including One-On-One, Team Battles, Metal Battles, Four Player Free-For-Alls, or Giant Battles. You have a choice of paths before each Stage including a Blue, Green, and Red Path. These are Easy, Normal, and Hard Matches respectively with harder paths offering better prizes. In higher Intensities that you set before Gameplay, the Path to Stage 6 may change offering a path to the Master Hand through a white path or the black path which pits you against to Master and Crazy Hands and the Master Core in higher Intensities. -> All-Star Mode Also found in the Solo Section of Games & More, you'll play through 7 Stages each with a set amount of opponents who you'll face in the order of their first game's release date. After each Stage after Stage 1, you'll go to a Rest Area where you'll find a Maximum Tomato, a Fairy Bottle, and two Heart Containers. The Heart Containers will replenish all Damage, while the other two items work normally. The Stages in the beginning only have the Starter Characters, though all Characters will be unlocked in the Stages once all Characters are unlocked. You can also change the difficulty of mode to be Easy, Normal, or Hard. -> Multi-Man Smash Modes Found in the Stadium in Games & More, Multi-Man Smash pits your Character against a group of Mii Fighters under different rules. 10-Man and 100-Man Smashes pit you against an amount of Miis listed including a random Character at 25 KO marks in 100-Man, and your won Character Choice at the end of both with your best time being recorded upon completion. 3-Minute and Endless Smash have a 3-Minute or Endless Time Limit to rack up KOs. Your KO record is recorded upon completion of 3-Minute, though your record is set upon being KO'd yourself in Endless. In both, a random Character appears every 25th Fighter. Rival Smash works similarly to Endless, though you complete with a duplicate of your chosen Character. When KO'd, your Rival's KOs are subtracted from yours and that becomes your Record. Cruel Smash has the Mii Fighters pulling no punches and attacking you relentlessly. It operaters under the same rules as Endless Smash, though scoring KOs is very, very difficult as you sent flying easily. -> Target Blast! Found in the Stadium in Games & More, Target Blast replaces the Break the Targets game from previous SSB Games. To play, tack damage to the Bomb and send it flying towards the Targets with a strong attack. Once touched, the Bomb will explode in 10 Seconds. You have two Rounds to destroy as many Targets and blocks as you can to score points and set a High Score. -> Home-Run Contest Found in the Stadium in Games & More, veteran Smashers will remember how this Game works. You have 10 Seconds to tack damage on the Sandbag and use the provided Home-Run Bat to send it flying as far as you can with the longest length being recorded as your High-Score. A quick hint: Hit the Sandbag with the tip of the Bat to send it flying farther than normal! -> Training Found in Games & More, this is just a Training mode that lets you practice with Characters, Stages, and Items. The highest amount of Attack Combos are recorded for each Character. -> Smash Run The Main Event of the Game, you take Character of your chosing, play in a open maze-like Stage for 5 Minutes defeating enemies and completing small Challenges to build Stats including Speed, Jump, Attack, Special, Arms, and Defense. These can all be built up as you move and attack, while Stat Boosts build them higher. While all Stats are self-explanatory, Arms is not. Arms deals with Items and thier effectiveness. Stats lower if you're dealt heavy damage or are KO'd. Once the 5 Minute Limit is up, you'll always face off against three other opponents in varying matches. These include Free-For-Alls or Team Battles with varying rules, Enemy Matches where you must defeat more minor enemies than the others, Multi-Man Smashes, or Races involving running to the finish or climbing a tower higher than anyone else. Each Final Match is 1 Minute long. -> Smash Mode The Game's Multiplayer Mode. Without other friends with copies of the Game, you'll only be able to fight CPU Opponents. This mode can also be used to unlock every Character by playing certain numbers of matches. -> Custom Mode Found in Games & More, you can use this Mode to create Mii Fighters or custom both them and normal Characters with Stat Boosting equipment or customize their Special Moves with those that are available. In Smash Run, you can also equip special Power-Ups that can be used during the 5 Minute maze run. -> Vault Found in Games & More, you'll find several things here. Your Trophy Collection, Screenshot Album, Replay Album, the Sound Test, Records including Fighter (Multiplayer) Records, Stats (General Play Records), and Milestones, and finally you access ll the Tips that appear when something's loading. -> Trophy Rush Found in the Vault in Games & More, Trophy Rush lets you spend collected Gold you've collected throughout the Game to play this Game up to a Maximum of 2 Minutes, and 30 Seconds. During the Game, your Character is used to smash blocks to build up a special meter. Once the meter is full, Special Blocks appear that give you Gold, Trophies, or Custom Parts when destroyed. Higher Combos of destroyed blocks build the Meter faster. You lose time if you're KO'd either by Bomb Blocks or Lightning Balls that appear from time to time. If the blocks stack too high for too long, the platorm collaspes resulting in a KO also. You get to keep what you gain after the Time Limit you set runs out. -> StreetSmash This one's a bit odd. Through StreetPass, you can play a Battle-Tops like game using Smash Tokens. The rules are simple, move with the Circle Pad, Shield with R, and Attack with A. Last one on the Battle Stage wins. You can counter-attack other Tokens by holding R, then quickly moving in a direction while pressing A when an Opponent tries to attack you. Tokens are KO'd by being knocked off the Stage, and are easy to knock off the more red their outline is. As I stated in a previous section, there's a Practice Mode. This Practice Mode let's you practice with up to 1 to 12 Tokens and Practice Mode can be used to complete all, but one of the Challenges involving StreetSmash. -> Online Mode Found on the Main Menu, this let's you fight against other players through the Nintendo Network either in normal matches or conquest matches. There's also a Spectator Mode where you can bet Gold on the Player you think will win a match. You don't need to come here to complete any Challenges, but the Mode is worth mentioning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3) Unlocking Characters [CHARA] Since Several Challeges involve unlockable Characters, I'll do a quick listing of the unlockable Characters here. If you know of other ways to unlock these guys, just shoot me an e-mail. Of note is when I say "Smash Matches," I'm refering to the Multiplayer Mode. -> Ness: Play 10 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode on any Intensity. -> Falco: Play 20 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode without continuing. -> Wario: Play 30 Smash Matches or complete a 100-Man Smash. -> Lucina: Play 40 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode with Marth without conitnuing. -> Dark Pit: Play 50 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode with 3 different Characters. -> Dr. Mario: Play 60 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode as Mario on 4.0 Intensity or higher. -> R.O.B.: Play 70 Smash Matches or collect 200 unique Trophies. -> Ganondorf: Play 80 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode as Link or Zelda on 5.0 Intensity or higher. -> Mr. Game & Watch: Play 90 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode with 10 different Characters. -> Bowser Jr.: Play 100 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode as Bowser on 6.0 Intensity or higher. -> Duck Hunt: Play 110 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode with 8 different Characters -> Jigglypuff: Play 120 Smash Matches or collect 30 different Custom Equipment Items. When you complete these requirements, the Character will challenge you to a One-On-One match. KO the Character to unlock them. Since you have to do several Challenges via Smash Mode, it's easier to use that Mode to unlock the hidden Characters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4) Using this Guide [USING] In Sections 5, 6 and 7, you'll find the Challenge listing. Each Section starts with a description of the Panel and how it's unlocked. At the end of the Panel description is the prize for what you get for completing all 35 Challenges on the Panel. It will also list which Challenges yield Golden Hammers when completed. As for the Challenges themselves, they're listed by row from top to bottom, then left to right. Each Challenge description is setup like so: Challenge #: Challenge Name Prize: Prizes recieved including Golden Hammers Difficulty: On a scale of 1 to 5, how difficult the Challenge is Description: How to complete the Challenge. Prizes include Trophies, Custom Specials, Custom Equipment, Custom Outfits, Custom Headwear, Smash Run Powers, Pokéball Pokémon, Stages, Music, and of course, Golden Hammers. If you're looking for a particular Challenge, use the CTRL + F Function and type in the Name of the Challenge as it appears on your 3DS screen to find it. Now, let's get this show on the road! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5) Panel 1 [PANE1] Panel 1 is available from the start. It can be frustrating at times however, as the randomness of Custom Items doesn't always yield Headgear or Outfits. Headgear unlocked in Challenges do count towards these types of goals. #011: Play Target Blast for the first time. Prize: Xerneas (Pokéball Pokémon) Difficulty: 1 Description: You can do this one with any Character. Enough said. #012: Play Rival Smash for the first time. To unlock him play 50 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode with 3 different Characters. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * D) Fourth Row [1ROW4] #022: Clear Classic on intensity 3.0 or higher. Prize: Master Hand (Music) Difficulty: 2 Description: Just what it says. You need at least 80 Gold to play Classic on 3.0 Intensity. #023: Unlock the hidden character Wario. Prize: WarioWare, Inc. (Stage) Difficulty: 2 Description: Unlocking Wario isn't too hard. Either play 30 Smash Matches or complete a 100-Man Smash. #024: Play 100-Man Smash for the first time. Prize: Victini (Pokéball Pokémon) Difficulty: 1 Description: You don't have a to complete the 100-Man Smash, just play it once with any Character. #025: Use Villager 3 or more times in Smash. Prize: Balloon Fight (Stage) Difficulty: 1 Description: Just use Villager 3 times in Multiplayer. You don't need to win with him/her. #026: Play Endless Smash for the first time. Prize: Genesect (Pokéball Pokémon) Difficulty: 1 Description: You do this with any Character. You don't have to set a record in Endless Smash, just play it. #027: Clear 10-Man Smash. Prize: Zoroark (Pokéball Pokémon) Difficulty: 1 Description: Any Character can do this, so get it done and over with. #028: Get at least 20 KOs in 3-Minute Smash. Prize: Karate Joe (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: This can be very hard or very easy. It all depends on your Character choice and your skill. I usually use Kirby or DK for this since both of their Down Specials are good for clearing out foes and making room to escape. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * E) Fifth Row [1ROW5] #029: Destroy 300 blocks in Trophy Rush. Prize: Giant Bomb (Link Custom Special) Difficulty: 2 Description: You can't really keep track of how many Blocks you've busted in Trophy Rush so you'll have to keep playing it until this Challenge is broken. You only have to play it once with any Character. #033: Collect 3 unique custom outfits. Prize: Lv. 1 Strong Body (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 3 Description: Like Headgear Items, Outfit Items appear randomly as you win Custom Items in most modes. It can be frustrating at times however, as the randomness of Custom Items doesn't always yield Headgear or Outfits. Outfits unlocked in Challenges do count towards these types of goals. #034: Win 2 Smash battles with Zelda. Prize: Princess Zelda Wig (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 1 Description: Simple enough. Just win 2 multiplayer matches with Zelda. #035: Score 100000 or more in Target Blast. Prize: Blast Box (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: This isn't as hard as it seems. Just remember to use a strong attack to launch the Bomb before it explodes. The more damage you do to the Bomb, the higher it launches when you slam it with your strong move of choice. Test launchings with different Characters and try to get the Bomb to land in a spot where it can rack up a lot of points when it blows. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6) Panel 2 [PANE2] Panel 2 becomes available once you complete all 35 Challenges on Panel 1. As one would expect, the Challenges on this Panel are a bit more advanced and require some footwork. Panel Completion Prize: Tutorial Pig (Trophy) Golden Hammer Challenges: #36, #39, #61 Can't use Golden Hammers on Challenges: #55 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * A) First Row [2ROW1] #036: Place first in Smash Run final battles with 5 different fighters. Prize: Lv. 2 Spinning Blades (Smash Run Power) / Golden Hammer Difficulty: 3 Description: Self-explanatory. Win Smash Run Final Battles with 5 different Characters. They can't all be different Miis either. Just remember to trudge through the Smash Run Maze with good custom parts and be sure to boost your Stats evenly for better results. #037: Get a max combo of 40 or more in Training. Prize: Beam Sword Agility Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: This can be a bit difficult since moves can't be spammed like they could in previous Games. However, it's only hard if you don't use some imagination. You can either throw Master Balls until an Entei appears or use Lucario. How you ask? Pick Lucario and chose Bowser as your sparring partner. Go to the Corneria Stage, then put Bowser near the large fin near the backside of the Stage. Now, with Lucario's back to Bowser and Bowser against the wall, charge Lucario's Aura Sphere. Now quickly press Start to gain access to the setup menu and the Aura Sphere will keep charging while it damages Bowser. Keep switching the Damage Setup from 19% to 20% and back again constantly. Bowser will still take damage, and you'll build your Combo slowly, but easily. UPDATE: An IGN user named xTreeCutterx gave a very great suggestion involving Ness. Set the Damage to 999% and grab the CPU sparring partner and start mashing the A Button to build up a combo. I should note that any Character can do this, but only Smaus, Kirby, Fox, Lucario, and Ness can pass the 100 Combo mark. #038: Unlock all playable fighters. Prize: Menu 2 (Melee) (Music) Difficulty: 3 Description: Use the info in Section 3 ([CHARA]) to unlock all the Characters in the Game. #039: Create 3 custom characters in Custom. Prize: Sprinter Agility Badge (Custom Equipment) / Golden Hammer Difficulty: 1 Description: In the Custom section of either Custom Mode or Smash Run, just customize 3 different Characters with any items. #040: Destroy 1000 blocks in Trophy Rush. Prize: Close Combat (Ike Custom Special) Difficulty: 2 Description: You can't really keep track of how many Blocks you've busted in Trophy Rush so you'll have to keep playing it until this Challenge is broken. Just remember that you need at least 180 Gold to play Trophy Rush. #041: Get 100 KOs in Smash. Prize: Hyper Smasher Brawn Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's simple enough. Just score 100 KOs in Multiplayer Mode. #042: Collect 150 or more unique trophies. Prize: Redd (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: Self-explanatory. Play modes or Trophy Rush and collect 150 different Trophies. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * B) Second Row [2ROW2] #043: Have a total high score of over 2000000 between all fighters in Target Blast. Prize: King Bob-omb (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: Just like it says, the total score between all Characters who have set a record in Target Blast! Mode must reach 2,000,000 Points or more. #044: Get a total of 5 hits in StreetSmash. Prize: Lv. 2 Shinespark (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 5 Description: This Challenge can be alomst impossible to complete without a Golden Hammer if you don't know anyone with a copy of the Game. If you have two 3DS systems and a copy of Game (not the downloadable version), you can cheat this a bit. First, setup the StreetSmash Option on both 3DS Systems with the single Game Cart between them. Now, close one system while the Game is active in it and close the other while it's on the Home Menu. Wait for the Green light, then check out the StreetSmash Option. Now switch Systems and check it again for another hit! You can do this once a day after midnight (you can't change the time or date, you have to wait.) for two hits a day. #045: Get 10 or more KOs in Rival Smash. Prize: KO Healer Protection Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 2 Description: This is simple enough. Just make sure the score you get after your opponent's KOs are subtracted from yours is 10 or more. I used DK for this one as his Down Special can really clear a crowd and keep your opponent at bay. #046: Battle 3 or more times on the Living Room stage in Smash. Prize: Golden Retriever (Trophy) Difficulty: 1 Description: You don't have to win the battles. You just need to have battles 3 times on the Living Room Stage when playing in Multiplayer Mode. #047: Get 10 KOs by knocking foes into other foes in StreetSmash. Prize: Mugly (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: A couple of things. First, you can accomplish this goal from the StreetSmash Practice Mode so you don't have to have any StreetPass Hits. Second, there's no real way to keep track of how many KOs you got by knocking Smash Tokens into other Tokens, so just keep going until you get the confirmation that the Challenge is complete. Naturally, you'll need to face 2 or more Tokens to get this one. I personally just set it to 12 and keep going until I complete the Challenge. #048: Obtain 25 types of Smash Run Powers. Prize: Lv. 2 Instant Drop (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 3 Description: There are two ways to get Smash Run Powers. Either get them by completing Challenges that offer them as prizes, or grab the bags with rainbow "?" stickers from Chests or defeated enemies in Smash Run. #049: Clear 100-Man Smash. Prize: Auto-Healer Brawn Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 2 Description: Simple enough. Clear the 100-Man Smash Mode with any Character. Pick one who can attack quickly and has good power making it easier to send the weak Fighting Miis flying. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * C) Third Row [2ROW3] #050: Reveal 99% of the wall during the staff credits. Prize: Credits (Music) Difficulty: 2 Description: During the Staff Credits at the end of Classic or All-Star Mode, you'll see a canvas slowly move up and down in the background. Using your Character's attacks, hit the Staff Credits to make them explode while they're over blank areas of the canvas to reveal parts of a hidden picture. You'll gain up to 100 Gold for revealing the whole picture, though for this Challenge, you only need to expose 99% of the picture. Your current percentage is at the bottom of the top screen. #051: Clear Classic with five fighters. Prize: Master Hand (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: Just clear Classic Mode with five different Characters on any Intensity. #052: Battle 3 or more times on the Find Mii stage in Smash. Prize: Dark Emperor (Trophy) Difficulty: 1 Description: You don't have to win the battles. You just need to have battles 3 times on the Find Mii Stage when playing in Multiplayer Mode. #053: Win 5 Smash battles with Meta Knight. Prize: High-Speed Drill (Meta Knight Custom Special) Difficulty: 1 Description: Simple enough. Just win 5 multiplayer matches with Meta Knight. #054: Unlock the hidden character Mr. Game & Watch. Prize: Flat Zone 2 (Stage) Difficulty: 3 Description: Unlocking Mr. Game & Watch requires some footwork. Either Play 90 Smash Matches or complete Classic Mode with 10 different Characters. #055: Defeat Master Core. Prize: Master Core (Music) Difficulty: 4 Description: On Intensity 5.1 or higher in Classic Mode, you'll face the Master Core when you take the Boss Path leading to the Battle against the Master and Crazy Hands. Once the duo takes 75% Damage, the Master Core will appear. Depending on the difficulty, it'll take on several forms. These forms include Sapien (Human-like form), Scorpion, Sabres, Simulacrum (doppelgänger of your Character), and finally the Source. Each form has it's own attacks. Once you reduce it to the Simulacrum form, you need to attack it constantly, or KO it like a normal fighter to expose the Source. Once the Source appears, keep attacking it until you KO it like a fighter. Just don't wait to long or it will send out five waves of energy that will KO you. It should be noted that this Challenge can't be skipped using a Golden Hammer. #056: Get 20 or more KOs by countering in StreetSmash. Prize: First Striker Agility Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: Yes, you can do this one in StreetSmash's Practice Mode. No, there's no way to keep track of how many KOs you get by Countering. You'll have to keep tabs on that yourself. Remember, to counter, hold R and wait for your opponent to attack. When they do, quickly press a direction and press A while still holding R. Your Token will flash then quickly attack. Countering won't always KO a Token though so you'll have to be presistent. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * D) Fourth Row [2ROW4] #057: Hit Sandbag 1968 ft. or more in Home-Run Contest. Prize: Home-Run Bat Agility Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: You have to set a record of 1968 ft. or more with a single Character to complete this Challenge. Bruisers like Bowser or Ganondorf are perfect for this Challenge. Again, remember that the tip of the Bat flings the Sandbag further when you use it on the Sandbag. #058: Get 30 or more KOs in Endless Smash. Prize: Fire Stingray (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: You can do this Challenge with any Character, though DK's Down Special can really rack up KOs quickly. #059: Play Smash Run 5 times. Prize: Lv. 2 Horizon Beam (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 1 Description: Only a 1 for Difficulty? Yes. You only have to play Smash Run five times with any Characters. You don't have to win it. #060: Unlock every stage. Prize: Tortimer Island (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: Complete Challenges #6, #9, #17, #20, #23, and #25 on Panel 1 and Challenge #54 on Panel 2 to complete this Challenge. #061: Play 10 collective hours of Smash. (Total gameplay x participants.) Prize: Knuckle Joe (Trophy) / Golden Hammer Difficulty: 3 Description: So, unless you really want to play Multiplayer by your lonesome for 10 hours all together, you'll need to find some friends with a copy of the Game and do Group battles via the Smash Mode (not Online Mode). Doing this will take the amount of time spent in each match and multiply it by the amount of Human Players. So, if you had a 10 Minute Match with four players, each player would be credited for 40 Minutes instead of 10. You can always do a single Stock match with no time limit and just let the Game go on for a few hours with other Players, otherwise, you'll have to build your time minute by minute facing CPU Opponents. #062: Win 10 Smash battles with Samus. Prize: Samus's Helmet (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 1 Description: Simple enough. Just win 10 multiplayer matches with Samus. #063: Collect 15 unique special moves Prize: Smash Ball Attractor Agility Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: Play modes or Trophy Rush and collect 15 different Custom Specials. Remember that a Custom Special is an item that alters the Special Moves (B Button) of Characters and each one is exclusive to one and only one Character. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * E) Fifth Row [2ROW5] #064: Collect 5 unique custom outfits. Prize: Spartan Helmet (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 3 Description: Like Headgear Items, Outfit Items appear randomly as you win Custom Items in most modes. It can be frustrating at times however, as the randomness of Custom Items doesn't always yield Headgear or Outfits. Outfits unlocked in Challenges do count towards these types of goals. #065: Get 300 KOs in Smash. Prize: Critical Hitter Brawn Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's simple enough. Just score 300 KOs in Multiplayer Mode. #066: Play Home-Run Contest with 15 or more fighters. Prize: Quick Batter Brawn Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 1 Description: This one's easy. Just play the Home-Run Contest with 15 different Characters regardless of whether you set a record or not. #067: Create 8 or more Mii Fighters in Custom. Prize: Top Hat (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 1 Description: You can always make 8 Fighters, then delete them later after you clear the Challenge to save space on your SD Card. #068: Collect 10 unique custom headgear items. Prize: Plate Armor (Custom Outfit) Difficulty: 3 Description: Like Outfit Items, Headgear Items appear randomly as you win Custom Items in most modes. It can be frustrating at times however, as the randomness of Custom Items doesn't always yield Headgear or Outfits. Headgear unlocked in Challenges do count towards these types of goals. #069: Clear All-Star on Normal. Prize: Medusa, Queen of the Underworld (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: This is really self-explanatory. Just be sure to pick a Character you're comfortable with as you can't use Characters with customized Specials or Equipment in All-Star Mode. #070: Have the game on for more than 8 hours. Prize: Melotta (Pokéball Pokémon) Difficulty: 1 Description: This one's easy as I'm sure you'll be playing the Game beyond 8 Hours. Just be sure to take break once in a while as you don't need to do all 8 Hours at once. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7) Panel 3 [PANE3] Panel 3 becomes available once you complete a total of 60 Challenges. So basically, all 35 from Panel 1 and 25 or more on Panel 2. Panel 3 has the most advanced Challenges in the Game, most of which will have you in a fit of rage at some points. Panel Completion Prize: Gold Bone (Trophy) Golden Hammer Challenges: #81, #87, #97 Can't use Golden Hammers on Challenges: #71, #73, #79, #84 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * A) First Row [3ROW1] #071: Clear Classic on intensity 9.0 or higher. Prize: Guardian (Trophy) Difficulty: 5 Description: Well... you heard about, you may have seen something about it, and yes, this Challenge truly is THE most rage-inducing challenge of the Game. Not only do you have no choice but to face off against the Master Core in the Boss Stage, failure means you'll have to start from the very beginning as you can't continue on the same Intensity after a Game Over since the Intensity is dropped by 0.5 with no option to raise it again. As an added bonus, playing on 9.0 requires 2200 Gold a pop and you can't use a Golden Hammer to skip this Challenge. Now, it took me probably 20 times using a Customized Kirby to finally clear this Challenge. I'm not saying you should do what I did. I will however tell you that customization is key. Pick a Character you're comfortable with and Customize them accordingly. UPDATE: Normally, I wouldn't include info about Customizations or what Characters to use, though IGN user xTreeCutterx did make a very fine suggestion. He said that a custom Ganondorf with a high defense customization should be able to tear up the CPU Opponents and the final Boss. #072: Hit Sandbag 3280 ft. or more in Home-Run Contest. Prize: Lv. 3 Ore Club (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 5 Description: Veterans of the Home-Run Contest may even balk at this Challenge, but it's not impossible. The key is getting the Sandbag to 110% or more before cracking the Bat. I used Ness to get 3336.9 ft. by using the Bat, his Down Standard Attack, and Side Special PK Fire in quick succession and barely made the deadline to crack Sandbag with the tip of the Bat. Remember, length of the Bat bad, tip of the Bat good. Fellow smashers have sent me countless e-mails talking about a special technique using Ganondorf. Credit however goes to the first one who told me. His name is Alexander. What you do is start of with two Side Smashes, then keep using his Side Standard (Sparta Kick) until time's almost up. Now face away from Sandbag, then start his Standard Special, Warlock Punch. While it's charging, quickly turn towards Sandbag. This sudden turn around super-charges Warlock Punch and can send Sandbag flying well past 5,000 ft. if you do it right. #073: Place first in 20 or more Smash Run final battles. Prize: Lv. 3 Dual Cyclone (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 3 Description: This one is a pretty moderate Challenge and can be completed by the same Character or any combination of Characters. Just be sure to adjust your customizations accordingly and raise your Stats evenly when you can. I should note that you can't skip this Challenge with a Golden Hammer. #074: Create 10 custom characters in Custom. Prize: Air Defender Protection Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 1 Description: This one's probably one of the easier ones on this Panel. Just customize 10 or more Characters other than Miis in the Custom Mode or in the Custom Section of Smash Run. #075: Get 50 or more KOs in a single Rival Smash. Prize: Lv. 3 Health Recovery (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 3 Description: This one's not too hard if you pick a good Character that can clear a crowd easily like DK or Bowser. Just make sure that you have things set up so when you're KO'd, the amount of KOs for your score is at 50 or more after your opponent's score is subtracted from yours. #076: Get at least 110 KOs in 3-Minute Smash. Prize: Crouch Healer Protection Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: Again, this one's not too hard if you use a Character that's good at crowd control. Just be sure not to stay in one place for too long as sticking to single spot not only increases your chance of being KO'd, but makes you pass up KO opportunities. #077: Obtain all custom outfits, headgear, and special moves. Prize: Evie (Trophy) Difficulty: 5 Description: This is pretty self-explanatory, though very difficult. There are 12 Custom Outfits (4 for each Mii type), 36 Custom Headgear, and 384 Custom Specials (8 for every Character except Miis). They can be collected through all Modes or through Challenges so get crackin'! Or use a Golden Hammer...cheater... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * B) Second Row [3ROW2] #078: Destroy 3000 blocks in Trophy Rush. Prize: Exploding Popgun (Diddy Custom Special) Difficulty: 3 Description: You can't really keep track of how many Blocks you've busted in Trophy Rush so you'll have to keep playing it until this Challenge is broken. Just remember that you need at least 180 Gold to play Trophy Rush. #079: Clear Classic with all characters. Prize: Crazy Hand (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: Well, if you've been enjoying Classic Mode, you'll have no problem completing this Challenge. Two things to note however. For starters, you can't skip this Challenge with a Golden Hammer. Second, you'd probably have to do this anyway since it's the only way to get Trophies for each of the Characters including the individual Miis. You also can do this one on the easiest Intensity Settings to get it done quicker. #080: Clear 100-Man Smash within 3 minutes. Prize: Effortless Blade (Marth Custom Special) Difficulty: 3 Description: This one's not to bad. Again, brusiers like DK or Bowser can really clean house nicely when it comes to this Challenge, though a Character like Mario or Kirby can be useful as well. #081: Walk at least 31 miles total between all fighters. Prize: Speed Walker Brawn Badge (Custom Equipment) / Golden Hammer Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's not too bad either, but it does require that it be done in Multiplayer Mode. Basically, you just move about with any Characters and the Game records the movement. You can check on progress in the Fighter Records in the Records section of the Vault. However, it bases distance by feet. 1 mile is worth 5280 feet. #082: Clear 10-Man Smash within 20 seconds. Prize: Quick Smasher Protection Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: While this one can be done with any Character, trying to do it can be a bit irratating as the Miis tend to act randomly throughout the match. Pick a Character who has great launch power and can move quickly to send the little guys flying ASAP to get this Challenge done and over with. #083: Get a max combo of 400 or more between all fighters in Training. Prize: Leaper Agility Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: As you may recall from earlier in the Guide, I mentioned that you can't really spam attacks to build combos like in previous SSB Titles. However, this isn't too hard to complete. On average, you need to get at least 9-10 combos between all fighters, of course compensating for those that were able to get more than 9-10. Miis can also be used for this equation as can Items like Fire Flowers and Pokémon. That being siad, getting 400 Combos total using this method should be a cake walk. #084: Clear All-Star with all fighters. Prize: Regal Crown (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 3 Description: Well, if you've been enjoying All-Star Mode, you'll have no problem completing this Challenge. Two things to note however. For starters, you can't skip this Challenge with a Golden Hammer. Second, you'd probably have to do this anyway since it's the only way to get Alt. Trophies for each of the Characters including the individual Miis. You can also do this on the Easy Difficulty setting if you want to get it done quicker. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * C) Third Row [3ROW3] #085: Destroy all red Targets in Target Blast. Prize: Steampunk Getup (Custom Outfit) Difficulty: 4 Description: Unless you've gotten really good at Target Blast! Mode, you'll probably want to use a Golden Hammer on this one as it requires a lot of precise attacks, good aim, and a bit of luck to decimate all 15 Red Targets over the course of the two Rounds you're given. Sometimes a Red Target is replaced by a Trophy or Custom Item. It still counts as a Red Target, so be sure to blast it. I suggest using a medium-build Character like Mario or a brusier like Ganondorf for this one, though light Characters like Kirby might be able to get this one done. #086: Reach a total of 49212 ft. in Home-Run Contest between all fighters' high scores. Prize: Sandbag (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's not that bad. On average, try to get at least 1005 ft. with all Characters including a Mii Fighter. Again, always hit with the tip of the Bat for better results. #087: Collect 500 or more unique trophies. Prize: Luigi (With Poltergust 3000) (Trophy) / Golden Hammer Difficulty: 4 Description: Self-explanatory. Play modes or Trophy Rush and collect 500 different Trophies. #088: Clear Solo 10-Man Smash with all fighters. Prize: Kat & Ana (Trophy) Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's not too bad. Completing this Challenge should be easy. One thing to note is that as the Challenge states, you can't do this in Group Mode, only in Solo. #089: Score 200000 or more in Target Blast. Prize: Explosive Punch (Mario Custom Special) Difficulty: 3 Description: This one must be done by a single Character. It doesn't matter which one, but that one Character must score 200000 Points or more within a single two Round play. Just remember to time your Bomb launch carefully and keep in mind that the more damage you do to it, the farther, and higher it goes. #090: Clear Solo 100-Man Smash with all fighters. Prize: Shadow (Trophy) Difficulty: 4 Description: Yes, you read that correctly. Solo Mode only, not Group mode, and you have to do it with all Characters. Either use the Training Mode to find which tactics will keep you in the Game to the end or use a Golden Hammer. #091: Play 50 collective hours of Smash. (Total gameplay x participants.) Prize: Color TV-Game 15 (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: So, unless you really want to play Multiplayer by your lonesome for 50 hours all together, you'll need to find some friends with a copy of the Game and do Group battles via the Smash Mode (not Online Mode). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * D) Fourth Row [3ROW4] #092: Place first in Smash Run final battles with all fighters. Prize: Lv. 3 Shuffle (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 4 Description: Well, if you like Smash Run, this Challenge is for you. You need to win Final Battles in Smash Run with all the Characters in the Game. Make sure your customizations are setup properly and that you boost your stats evenly for the challenges that lie ahead. Of course, you could always use a Golden Hammer too... but what fun would that be if you did that? #093: Jump at least 6 miles total bewteen all fighters. Prize: Lv. 3 High Jump (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's not too bad, but it does require that it be done in Multiplayer Mode. Basically, you just jump about with any Characters and the Game records the movement. You can check on progress in the Fighter Records in the Records section of the Vault. However, it bases distance by feet. 1 mile is worth 5280 feet. #094: Play Target Blast with all fighters. Prize: Dark Train (Trophy) Difficulty: 1 Description: This one's a cake-walk. You don't even need to set any records, just play the Target Blast! Mode at least once with all Characters. #095: Get 20 KOs by knocking foes into other foes in StreetSmash. Prize: Koopa Troopa (Green) (Trophy) Difficulty: 3 Description: Once again, this Challenge can be accomplished from the StreetSmash Practice Mode so you don't have to have any StreetPass Hits. Again, however, there's no real way to keep track of how many KOs you got by knocking Smash Tokens into other Tokens, so just keep going until you get the confirmation that the Challenge is complete. Naturally, you'll need to face 2 or more Tokens to get this one. I personally just set it to 12 and keep going until I complete the Challenge. #096: Get a max combo of 100 or more in Training. Prize: Protective Gear (Custom Outfit) Difficulty: 3 Description: This can be a bit difficult since moves can't be spammed like they could in previous Games. #097: Have the game on for more than 20 hours. Prize: Princess's Crown (Custom Headgear) / Golden Hammer Difficulty: 1 Description: This one's easy as I'm sure you'll be playing the Game beyond 20 Hours. Just be sure to take break once in a while as you don't need to do all 20 Hours at once. #098: Get 4 or more KOs in Cruel Smash. Prize: Lion Hat (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 5 Description: Oy vey... you should've seen this coming. I found spamming Kirby's Up Special near the edge to be useful in tacking on damage, then use his Down Special to send the Miis flying once they were at 100-120% Damage. I managed to get 5 KOs with this method, though you're welcome to try your own or just use a Golden Hammer. UPDATE: An IGN User named xTreeCutterx shot me an e-mail with a very nice suggestion. He said using Marth's Counter (Down Special) is a nice way to clear the Miis in Cruel Smash. I did try this myself and got 4 KOs. I should mention however, that there's some timing involved. Don't just spam the Counter Move. Start it just as a Mii Fighter gets close enough that you know they'll attack or the move will end before they attack and they'll launch you...hard. The Counter Move is a good one as xTreeCutterx did point out that the damage done by it is equal do what damage was inflicted when the move was Countered. So much so, that if a Mii uses a Smash Attack on you while Countering, you can KO that Mii even if it's 0% Damage. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * E) Fifth Row [3ROW5] #099: Clear All-Star on Hard. Prize: Nintendoji (Trophy) Difficulty: 4 Description: This is really self-explanatory. Just be sure to pick a Character you're comfortable with as you can't use Characters with customized Specials or Equipment in All-Star Mode. #100: Get 1000 KOs in Smash. Prize: Moon Launcher Brawn Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 3 Description: This one's simple enough. Just score 1000 KOs in Multiplayer Mode. It may take you a while though. #101: Get 2 or more KOs in Cruel Smash. Prize: Shield Exploder Protection Badge (Custom Equipment) Difficulty: 5 Description: Not as many KOs needed for this Challenge like Challenge #98. Again, I found spamming Kirby's Up Special near the edge to be useful in tacking on damage, then use his Down Special to send the Miis flying once they were at 100-120% Damage. #102: Get 200 or more KOs in Endless Smash. Prize: Lv. 3 Launch Ring (Smash Run Power) Difficulty: 4 Description: A bruiser like DK or Bowser will be helpful since they can take a lot of damage before really being knocked around. However, someone like Mario or Kirby might be able to get the job done as well. Really, it's about dodge and slam, dodge and slam. #103: Collect all Smash Run Powers. Prize: Prince Hat (Custom Headgear) Difficulty: 5 Description: Since Smash Run (and to the lesser extent, Challenges), are the only way to get Smash Run Powers, completing this Challenge will defintely take some time. There are 44 Smash Run Powers and each one has 4 Lv. Grades for a total of 176 Powers all together. Yeah, unless you're really into Smash Run, you'll probably use a Golden Hammer. #104: Clear All-Star with 15 fighters. Prize: All-Star Rest Area (Music) Difficulty: 2 Description: This one's pretty simple. Just complete All-Star on any Difficulties with 15 different Characters. #105: Collect 600 or more unique trophies. Prize: Wentworth (Trophy) Difficulty: 4 Description: Self-explanatory. Play modes or Trophy Rush and collect 600 different Trophies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 8) Challenges By Category [INDEX] So, here we are. A: Keep in mind, this Guide's purpose is to give a quick rundown of each Challenge and a simplified explaination on how to clear them. Q: You planning on doing a more in depth Guide for the Game? A: No. I've already seen others doing that already. However, if I finally get the final Smash Run Powers and Custom Specials I need, I may do a Guide that goes over them if no one else by the time I get them. I got a few Smash Run Powers left to collect yet, but I still have a couple dozen more Custom Specials left to collect, so it might be a while. I don't like doing Guides on subjects that I myself personally haven't completed. My Epic Mickey Guides were done after week or two of Gameplay in an effort to make sure the info I gave was precise and researched properly so I wouldn't have to do update after update. Q: I can't use Miiverse with this Title! What's up? A: This Game uses so much of the 3DS's CPU that it can't run Miiverse and this Game at the same time. Q: Can I use the Demo version with a retail version to get some of my Challenges completed? A: From what I've tried so far, I'm not really sure. I did try a couple of times, but the Game wouldn't link with the Demo version for some reason. Q: Did you really play 50 Hours of Smash for the 50 Hour Challenge?! A: No. I actually have 2 3DS Systems. I also have 2 copies of the Game, the Retail Cartridge and the Downloadable version, and yes, it cost a pretty penny for both. It's actually how I found out about a few of the prizes for some of the Challenges as I used Golden Hammers on some of the Challenges on the downloadable version. Q: I completed a Challenge, but nothing happened! A: More than likely, the Challenge you completed is on a Panel you haven't unlocked yet. Remember that you can complete them in any order and they'll clear automatically as a result once the Panel they're on is unlocked. Q: Do you know how many Trophies there are? A: I was a bit nosey and looked at a ripped file at the Spriter's Resource. I do believe there's 688. Yes you read that correctly. Q: I found a better way to complete a Challenge! A: Shoot me an e-mail and I'll update the Guide and give you credit. However, there's a couple of rules: -> Character specific suggestions for Challenges where any Character can complete it may not be accepted. For example, I stated that I used Kirby to clear Classic on 9.0 Intensity. You can however, use any Character. This Guide would become too long if I listed how to complete that Challenge with every single Character. -> I'm fully aware of the Smart Bomb technique to build Combos in Training. I opted not to list in Challenges concerning Training Mode Combos as the trick was already listed in the CHEATS SECTION of this Game's GameFAQs Page. -> Don't send e-mails saying what kind of customizations should be used. I didn't list specific customizations becuase everyone's preferences are different and what might work for you may not work for others. -> Make sure to stay on topic. This is a Guide about Challenges giving the simplest of descriptions. Telling me how to change Music for Stages or how to get the most amount Gold in a mode is off topic. -> No spam please and thank you. -> Don't send your 3DS friend codes. I'm not really interested in online play. No offense. Q: Can I host your Guide on my site? A: No. This Guide is only to be made available on GameFAQs or any of it's affliates. This is for several reasons. For starters, GameFAQs has always been one of the best places for game info. Secondly, if I have to update this Guide, I don't want to waste time resubmitting the updated guide to too many sites. Q: How'd you get this Guide out so quick? A: Been playing for quite a while now, so I've gotten pretty much everthing done with this Game at this point. As for the Guide itself, I pulled an all-nighter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10) Closing [CLOSE] Well, hope you enjoyed the Guide and really hope you're enjoying the Game. It must have taken me about 10 Hours to complete this thing. And do feel free to give critism or compliments. Both are greatly appreciated. Hopefully, this Game will be enough to quench the thirst of SSB Fans until the Wii U Version comes out in November... ...And yes, I already preordered it! Later, --Bill--
