Question for Nintendogs + Cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends

I just got a dog from the kennel that was Skinny. So I went out and bought some Wet Food to help it regain some weight to make it Ideal. But since I didn't have any other dog food, I had to give my Ideal dog the Wet Food. And he suddenly became Plump! What are all the ways I can make him lose weight! Please tell me!

Take him on lots of walks and make them really long ones. (simply by keeping going to different places and go out with friends to the cafe or park. Dont feed him that much and DO NOT give him treats. At the store there is this diet food
