Collectibles are designated as glowing objects and picking them up will enable you to get the required funds to obtain better permanent gear as well as grenades and Molotov when you are out of crafting materials.

Make sure you purchase the Tactical Vest as soon as you are able to. This piece of permanent gear which costs $5000 to unlock is basically a perk that reduces the amount of enemy damage by 50%. Health in Homefront: The Revolution does not regenerate over time so managing the amount of life you have is critical. This is not easy as the enemies you encounter are no slouches and pack a wallop. This means in order to stay alive longer you should always keep some sort of object in front of you as cover.

There are two big advantages when you do this, the first is if you crouch whilst behind cover the AI of the game tends to forget about you and wander into a more vulnerable position and if the object you are crouching behind is waist-high you will have the option of propping your gun up which reduces recoil which turns you into a protected killing machine.

In Homefront: The Revolution you are given a great deal of gun variety so in order to save yourself cash going forward you need to quickly decide what your favorite two weapons are and focus on upgrading them to three stars as quickly as possible. Try to purchase items that boost their damage, so you can take down enemies faster. Just upgrading your two favorite weapons will also enable you to have cash to spend on other important things like character gear upgrades and consumables.
