To perform the final boss jump in Descenders successfully you don't need to go too fast, you want to just make it to the halfpipe in the middle, so you get the speed boost from riding down the ramp before making the second part of the jump. Try aiming for somewhere around 75 km/h right as you hit the ramp for the first part of the jump. It is important that your speed is correct, if you are too fast you will lose too much speed on the landing.

In Descenders you will have points deducted from your overall reputation every time you crash (bail). The number of points you have deducted will be determined by the intensity of the crash. Basically this means you will be penalised less if you are going slower than if you were careening down a hill at a fast speed. Therefore it is in your best interests to reduce your spped if at any time during the game you feel you are starting to lose control of the bike in order prevent losing your hard-earned points.

In Descenders pumping and counter-pumping are two essential skills you need to become adept at if you have aspirations of doing well in the game. Pumping makes you stick to the ground and gives you a spped boost on ramps which will enable you to achieve a greater hieght. This skill is performed by pushing the right joystick of your controller down and then releasing it at the top of the ramp. Counter-pumping is a skill that is used to soften your landing and reduce the amount of time spent in the air. To perform this skill you need to hold the right joystick of your controller up before hitting a ramp. Both of these skills when used correctly will help you easily navigate any obstacles in your way and make some of the bonus objectives a lot easier to complete.

In Descenders you are given different camera perspectives in-game from which to choose from. Experiment with each of them and select the one that you feel is right for you. These camera angles includes a first-person one and a more overhead view which expands the field of vision and enables you to take in more of the environment.

You will be given an additional bonus objective every time you select a track to race on. These are worthwhile doing as they will reward you with extra health and points towards your overal reputation. These bonus objectives are optional and not required to move on to the next race. They are however useful if you need to make up for any points you may not have picked up elsewhere from bailing.
