As with previous games in the Yakuza series you should always pay attention to your surroundings during a fight as the game allows you to use objects in the environment to deal a large amount of damage to your enemies. To use these environmental items which includes things like chairs and beer crates you just need to make sure the item is situated between you and your enemy when you attack. When you do so you will automatically perform a contextual maneuver with the object.
