As you progress through Yakuza: Like a Dragon you will find that upgrades, weapons, and even eating will start to deplete your savings. One way in which you can keep them topped up is through the Treasure Hunt skill which is one of the first mechanics the game teaches you. What you simply have to do is find a vending machine or a pile of trash and stand next to it. If you then press the Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) button on your controller you will search for 'treasure'.

Most of the time you will only find ¥10 or ¥100 coins but there is always the possibility that you will hit the jackpot which will result in a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum plate which once you unlock the Benten Pawn Shop on Misaki Street you will be able to trade these in for a decent amount of coins. The Platinum plate for example will fetch you ¥20.000 coins.
