I. Introduction

Hi there, this is Jake "sk8terguyjake" Parker. This will be my
fifth guide I've written, they have all been multiplayer guides. In this guide
I'll go through general tips and strategies, weapon strategies, then I'll go
through game type strategies for each game mode, then I'll hit the map
strategies. Lastly I'll have Legal info and Acknowledgements and contact info.
When you're reading this guide use my table of contents well. So if you're
interested in general tips for Attack and defend, look at the table of contents
then press ctrl+F and then type in TY 123 then search. This makes it so that
you don't have to scroll down and find it
That's my guide in a nutshell. If you have anything you want to add anything
to this guide, if you've got any questions, or anything you want to tell me,
just send me an email at [email protected], that is
[email protected].
You could also send me a voice mail at my xbox live account, my gamertag is
bigbadblubanana. That's right, bigbadblubanana is my gamertag. Don't ask. I
like to hear from my readers, and I check my email everyday so I actually would
like to hear from you. That's about it, let's get it on.

III. General Tips and Strategies

In this section I'm going to go through some general tips and strategies that
can be used in just about any situation. For any experienced Rainbow six
player, most of this is going to be a flash of the obvious. These tips are
mostly for the people who are new to this kind of game, or new to the series in
general. With that, let's dive into it.

1. Communicate with your Allies!!!

In every single guide I've ever written this has always been my number one
general tip. That's because I really think it's important. Communication is
what makes rainbow six, well, rainbow six. The Rainbow six series has always
been known for the people who have good communication over live. None of that
Halo 2 crowd. People who play rainbow six tend to be much more eager to
communicate and be strategic. So take good advantage of this, tell your allies
where you're at, what you're seeing, stuff like that. It will go a long way
towards you winning the game.

2. Use the Cover System!!

This is new to the rainbow series. IF you walk up to any wall, slot machine,
what have you, and press the Left Trigger, you'll take cover up against it.
You can lean out by using the left stick. The cover system represents a great
way to cover streets, or other areas, with minimal exposure. Another good thing
to do is take cover, then when someone walks by, you just pop up and cap the
guy. Another thing you can do is blind fire, which is extremely inaccurate, but
if used correctly can be effective. You do this by simply pressing the Right
Trigger.

3. Use the right weapon for each map!

Certain maps and parts of maps tend to be better for certain weapons. Keep
This in mind as you choose which weapons you're going to go with, as well as
what part of each map you're going to patrol or what routes you're going to take
towards the objective. There is a big difference between an assault rifle and
a submachine gun. I'll go through this more in my weapons section.

4. Be smart with your outfitting.

This game features a character creation mode. As you rank up in the games
multiplayer, more gadgets, armor, weapons, and clothing become available. Be
smart with this, take advantage of what you unlock, because these are probably
going to be better than what you were originally using.

5. Fire short controlled bursts!

Doing this will greatly enhance your accuracy, especially when you're using
assault rifles. If you fire short controlled bursts you will be amazed at how
much more accurate you are, especially over distances. Even at close range
fire in short controlled bursts. Another thing this will prevent is you running
out of ammo and being caught in a reload, also known as "being caught with your
pants down."

6. Aim down the sight!!

Even when you're walking, you're so much more accurate this way. Actually you
can even do this while your moving to become much more accurate. The only
problem I see with this is that your peripheral vision is very limited, but
when you're scoping in on a target, or a guy you know is hiding behind
something, this issue becomes minimal. Whenever you are advancing on a guy you
know is taking cover, who is watching you, always aim down the sight. Oh, by
the way, this is done by clicking the right trigger.

7. Flank your Enemy!!

Now that you have the new cover system, it's actually possible for you to be in
a shootout with the guy, be behind cover, then swing around and shoot the guy
in the back. I can't tell you how many times I've done this with a good result.
You're going to find that this works best in the close combat situations inside
the casinos. That's when this strategy will really come into play. One other
thing to keep in mind is that while you're shooting a guy up, and you're taking
cover, telling an ally to go around and shoot the guy is a very effective way
to take a guy out.

IV Weapons and Gadget Strategies

In this section I'm going to go through each type of weapon, then go into each
weapon and type up their stats, then I'll add up their stats and give you the
total for a general look at the weapon. Then I'll give a brief opinion on
them, then I'll go into each weapon in general. Then I'll get to the different
scopes and what not, then I'll hit the gadgets. That should just about do it...

A.	Submachine guns WP039

These are your guns that are preferred for close range combat. If you stick a
rifle scope on one of these babies you can be pretty effective at medium range
as well. These guns are very accurate, especially when you're on the move. If
you're on a close range map, this is your gun. Now the only problem with these
guns is that they are a little weak on firepower. Especially when you're going
up against armored opponents. But if I'm playing CO-OP, this is my preferred
gun.

MP5N

Damage: 5/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 8/10
Total: 15/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

This is one of your default submachine guns that you have at the beginning of
the game. It has good accuracy, especially while you're crouching. This gun
is VERY accurate when fired in short bursts. This is your average in between
submachine gun.

MP7A1

Damage: 4/10
Range: 3/10
Accuracy: 8/10
Total: 15/30
Magazine Capacity: 40

This is one of the most accurate guns in the game and with a 40 bullet clip,
you'll be able to spray on auto very accurately, and for a relatively long
period of time. I would say the major downside is that if you're trying to
shoot a guy with armor, you're not going to have much success. You're going to
have to aim at the head in order to really take full advantage of this gun.

UMP .45

Damage: 5/10
Range: 3/10
Accuracy: 9/10
Total: 17/30
Magazine Capacity: 25

This is a very accurate submachine gun, actually the most accurate in the game
this gun and the MP9. This gun has a good cross of awesome accuracy, good
damage, and well, crappy range. But still, this is probably the best
submachine gun in the game. I would say the only fault is that it only has 25
bullets in it's magazine, but that's a minor complaint.

P90

Damage: 4/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 7/10
Total: 13
Magazine Capacity: 50

This is one of the best guns in terms of accuracy, rate of fire and damage.
The only thing I really don't like is that you will run out of ammo way too
easily. This gun though is accurate, and it spits out bullets at an amazing
rate. Again the thing is that it only comes with 3 clips, so you're probably
going to run out of ammo if you get trigger happy.

MP9

Damage: 5/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 9/10
Total: 16/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

This gun is quite similar to the MP7A1 but I think is better because I've
noticed that this gun is just a little more accurate than the MP7A1. Only
problem is that this gun doesn't quite have the magazine capacity, so you're
going to have to be smart with your shots.

MAC11

Damage: 4/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 6/10
Total: 12/30
Magazine Capacity: 32

This is a gun that I think is often overlooked because of it's horrible stats.
The one redeeming factor that this gun has is a GREAT rate of fire. Now I
personally don't like this gun. I feel as if it has no power, and it's
accuracy is pretty weak. So this is a good gun if you're good at getting
headshots because let me tell you something. This gun isn't going to pierce
any armor.

Submachine Gun Add Ons

The Submachine guns don't have a whole lot of options in terms scopes, but they
have a couple. I'm going to all of those right now.

Reflex Scope

This is a good aiming site for close range. On maps like Calypso Casino this
would be a good site to use. Any map where you are having lots of close range
is a good one. This sight basically is a little circle with a red dot in the
center. Wherever that red dot is that's where the bullet goes. It doesn't
offer much in the way of scoping in on a distant target, but it provides a
clear aiming site.

The Rifle Scope

This is much better for shooting at distances. You basically scope in and have
a little aiming sight in the middle. I would say the only problem with this is
that if you're going to need a scope, maybe you should be using an assault
rifle. But that's just my opinion. If you're good with submachine guns but
just want a bit more accuracy at a distance, this is your scope to use.

Laser Sight

The laser sight basically just improves your accuracy. You can turn it on in
the weapons settings and you'll see the laser come on. Basically you aim the
same as if you didn't have an attachment, but somehow the gun is just more
accurate. This is another good sight if you're going to be up close and
personal, because at a distance this sight doesn't do anything for you. One
thing to be careful of is that your enemy can see the light too, so you might
alert them to your presence.

B.	Light Machine Guns (LMGs) WP809

These are the masters of suppressing fire. You can pump out a lot of high
velocity bullets quick. Considering the guns each have 100 bullet mags, you
can shoot a bunch without having to reload often. The thing with this is that I
think it's somewhat excessive. To keep a guys head down you probably don't
need 400 bullets a minute of fire. If I was taking cover and I had bullets
hitting the wall next to me every 2 or 3 seconds, that would be enough to
encourage me to keep my head down. Another problem if you're using an Light
Machine Gun is that they will find out where you're firing from pretty quickly.
For me it's like, how bad do you need to kill somebody??

MK46

Damage: 7/10
Range: 4/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 15/30
Magazine Capacity: 100

This is a good LMG with decent stats across the board. This baby like all of
the other LMGs can lay down suppressive fire with no mercy. Of all of the
LMG's it's the one that fits right in the middle.

21E

Damage: 6/10
Range: 3/10
Accuracy: 6/10
Total: 15/30
Magazine Capacity: 100

This gun doesn't quite have the stopping power or range that the MK46 has. It
is two points more accurate though, so I favor it slightly more than the MK46.
With Light machine guns, you need all of the accuracy you can get, and that's
what this guns got.

M249 SPW

Damage: 8/10
Range: 4/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 16/30
Magazine Capacity: 100

This gun is the most powerful and useful at a distance coming out of the Light
Machine Gun division. It's good at a distance and has tremendous stopping
power, coming at you at a frightening rate of fire and high capacity magazine.
This is definitely the best gun if you're looking for sheer firepower.

Light Machine Gun Add ons

Reflex Scope

This is a good scope that provides a clear aiming sight. It's accurate, and is
effective at close range. You can't shoot much at a distance with this scope,
but you're not shooting at a distance with these kind of guns all that often.

Rifle Scope

Same scope as the submachine gun. This allows for you to scope in on targets
and hit guys at a bit more of a distance then with a reflex or laser sight.
Only thing I would say is that when you're shooting with an LMG, a scope might
be somewhat hard to use, considering how much the gun is going to be bouncing
around.

Laser Sight

Same laser sight as before. This laser sight improves your accuracy when the
laser is turned on. You can turn it on by going to the weapon menu by holding
X, then go to the right with the D-Pad. Be aware that your enemies can see the
laser as well.

Recoil Control Stick

This is a good add on that lowers the chance of your gun losing control while
firing. It basically cuts down on the recoil of your gun, which is always an
LMG's biggest drawback.

C.	Assault Rifles WP720

Assault rifle's are a cross between sniper rifles, and submachine guns. They
can have 6X scope which is good, as well as good range to back itup, but they
fire automatically. These are excellent guns for accurate suppressing fire,
and for taking cover for a firefight On the stats they say they're inaccurate,
but in actuality these guns are accurate, they're just horrible if you're on
the move. So if you sit down, take cover, and take your time, you'll do just
fine with these guns. The nice thing is that assault rifles have enough power
to actually punch through all of the body armor, so a few shots to the body is
going to be ver effective in terms of killing your enemy.

552 Commando

Damage: 8/10
Range: 7/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 19/30

This gun is very accurate and it has excellent stopping power. This and the
MTAR-21 have the best damage of any assault rifle in the game, so this thing
will take guys out quick. It's rate of fire is quite average though, so keep
that in mind.

AK-47

Damage: 7/10

Aug 43

Damage: 7/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 5/10
Total: 14/10
Magazine Capacity: 30

This gun does decent damage, has alright accuracy, but for some reason has
horrible range. I don't really know how it's possible for an assault rifle to
have a range of 2, but this gun does. That really takes away from the
usefulness of this gun, because most assault rifles are only useful at a
distance.

Famas

Damage: 7/10
Range: 6/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 17/30
Magazine Capacity: 25

The famas is the P90 of the assault rifles. It does good damage, has average
range and accuracy, but it just spits out bullets at an incredible rate. If you
like the P90 and want a bit more range and power, this is your gun. One thing
to note is that you get more ammo then you would normally with the P90.

G36C

Damage: 7/10
Range: 6/10
Accuracy: 5/10
Total: 18/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

This gun is very average. It doesn't excel in any one category, and doesn't
totally suck in a category either. The main problem with this gun is that it's
the exact same as the G3KA4, except the G3KA4 has 2 points better in the range
department, so you might as well use that gun.

G3KA4

Damage: 7/10
Range: 8/10
Accuracy: 5/10
Total: 20/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

This gun is very similar to the G36C except it's a bit better in the range
department, and that makes it a decent gun for ranged combat. This and the
SCAR-H are your best assault rifles when fighting at distances.

M8

Damage: 7/10
Range: 6/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 17/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

This gun switches over from the ghost recon series to makes it's debut in the
Rainbow Six Series. This gun doesn't represent ghost recon very well,
considering it has average damage, but below average accuracy. That's the real
killer for this gun. It's just not accurate.

MTAR

Damage: 8/10
Range: 6/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 18/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

This gun is the most powerful assault rifle in the game, along with the 552
commando. The other note on this gun is that it has a blazing rate of fire.
This thing just spits the bullets out like there's no tommorrow. It is
somewhat inaccurate, but it does have the best stopping power of any assault
rifle in this game, along with an awesome rate of fire, so this gun is
definitely worth checking out.

SCAR-H CQC

Damage: 7/10
Range: 8/10
Accuracy: 5/10
Total: 20/30
Magazine Capacity: 30

In case you didn't notice this gun is the exact same as the G3KA4, so yeah.
This is another gun from ghost recon, which is representing the game well. This
is a good gun, solid at a distance, with average stopping power. The one thing
that is good is that it is more accurate than a lot of the assault rifles,
especially when you're moving and all.

Assault Rifle Add ons

The assault rifle's have a couple more options than the submachine guns do.
These are the 6X scope and the Acog Scope. I'll also take a look at their
Other options which are in the submachine gun part as well.

The Reflex Scope

This is basically the same thing as the submachine gun add on. The main
Problem I have with it is that on an assault rifle, a reflex scope is just
useless. Assault rifles are used at a distance, and the reflex scope really
can't help you all that much. You'd be much better off with a 6X scope or an
ACOG Scope.

Laser Sight

Same deal as submachine gun, but the main difference is the one I went through
with the reflex scope. I'd take a 6x scope or ACOG anyday, considering that
you're going to be fighting at a distance. That's where this thing is useless.

ACOG Scope

This is a good scope for mid range combat. It doesn't scope in too much to
Make you feel uncomfortable at close range, and yet it scopes in enough to make
you feel adept at longer ranges. This is actually very similar to the Rifle
Scope on the Submachine gun, which is a good add on.

6X Scope

This is a good scope for long range. It's the longest range scope you can get
for an assault rifle, so if you want distance on that assault rifle this is
your best add on. This thing can scope in very well, and provide awesome
accuracy at a distance.

D.	Sniper Rifles WP798

Every game has them. Here you are, your sniper guns. These are extremely
accurate, powerful, and useful at long range. These guns are the best if
you're looking for sheer firepower per bullet. Only problem with these guns is
that they are nearly useless at close combat. As soon as you fire you're going
to have to cock the gun if you want to shoot again, so if you miss that first
shot you're in serious trouble. The other problem is that you can't put a
silencer on these guns so as soon as you fire, everyone's going to know where
you're at.

M40A1

Damage: 10/10
Range: 9/10
Accuracy: 10/10
Total: 29/30
Magazine Capacity: 05

This is a very good gun, with awesome firepower, great accuracy, and distance
At long range. If you want to put a hole in somebody at a distance, this is
your weapon of choice. The only point it's missing is one for range, but who
cares, you can shoot far enough.

PSG-1

Damage: 8/10
Range: 9/10
Accuracy: 10/10
Total: 27/30
Magazine Capacity: 05

This is actually a really good sniper rifle for one main reason. This being
that it can fire shots without having to cock the gun again. So this way you
can take multiple shots without having to take your eyes out of the scope. The
M40A1 and the Scout tactical, as well as the SV-98 are all bolt action. This
comes at a cost. The PSG-1 does lack in the power department, so you might not
kill in one shot. That's why you are going to want to aim at the head when
using this gun.

Scout Tactical

Damage: 10/10
Range: 9/10
Accuracy: 10/10
Total: 29/30
Magazine Capacity: 05

This is the exact same in terms of stats as the M40A1. The two guns are very
similar, and to be brutally honest it doesn't matter which you choose. Just to
let you know, if you choose either one you're getting an awesome gun which will
kick butt at distance and provide awesome firepower.

SV-98

Damage: 10/10
Range: 9/10
Accuracy: 10/10

Another awesome sniper rifle that unfortunately uses bolt action. It's still
really powerful and probably will kill in one upper body shot. This is a very
strong gun at long ranges.

Sniper Rifle Add ons

6X Scope

This is the worst scope. It's not a matter that the scope sucks, as much as if
you're going to use a 6X scope, then you might as well use an assault rifle.
That's the thing.

12X Scope

This is a lot better. This thing is excellent for extremely long ranges. You
will be able to snipe people from across maps using this scope, and that's
going to be key towards the success of your shots.

6X, 12X Scope

This is the best scope in the game. Reason being that it can scope between
either 6X and 12X. This makes it so that if you're in a mid range situation,
you won't be totally helpless. Then if you see a guy really far off you can
scope in at 12X.

E.	Shotguns WP654

These are pure close combat weapons. They fire a shell that will basically rip
through anything upon contact. These are one of the best guns for room
clearing, and are very good as antipersonnel weapons. After testing, these
things can actually hold up at a distance. Now don't be trying to snipe people
with these things, but I mean at 40 feet you can still take a guy out, which
amazed me. I would say the only problem with these guns is that after each shot
you have to cock it so if you miss that first shot you're going to be pretty
vulnerable, especially when you're in the open. That's the main thing I would
watch out for is that you really don't want to miss that first shot you take.

M3

Damage: 8/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 3/10
Total: 13/30
Magazine Capacity: 08

This is a decent shotgun and has good stopping power, and fits right in the
middle statistically amongst the other shotguns. The only thing is that the
870 MCS is the exact same, but has one more point in damage, so you might as
well use that.

Spas 12

Damage: 9/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 5/10

This is a great gun for room clearing and is probably the best shotgun in the
game. This gun kicks serious butt up close and personal.

870 MCS

Damage: 9/10
Range: 2/10
Accuracy: 3/10
Total: 14/30
Magazine Capacity: 08

This shotgun has a slight edge over the M3 considering it has one point more in
the damage stat. This gun is the most powerful shotgun in the game, which
means that it will get you kills in those close combat situations, and
that'swhat really counts.

XM-26 LSS

Damage: 7/10
Range: 1/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 12/30
Magazine Capacity: 05

This gun is the most accurate shotgun in the game. It loses points though in
terms of both damage and range, so that "accuracy" comes at a price. One thing
that is awesome about this shotgun is that it can shoot at full auto, which
will basically obliterate your opponent. You want to be careful with that
because you could run out of ammo in your clip.

Shotgun Add Ons

Reflex Scope

This is the same Reflex scope we know and love. It's good for this gun because
a shotgun is basically a close range gun, and this offers a good close range
aiming sight, which is a perfect match of the two.

Rifle Scope

This is interesting. Combining a rifle scope with a shotgun. Here's something
crazy. After I tested this combination, it works. You can actually shoot at
decent range with a shotgun, and it's pretty accurate. Don't expect to snipe
people with this thing, but you can hit people at mid range. That is, if they
are in the open. If they are partially behind cover forget about it.

Laser Sight

This is the same laser sight you've known since...childhood. Just kidding,
since the submachine gun part. Anyway it's basically the same thing on this
gun, where it increases your accuracy. As always be careful to not let your
enemy see it.

F.	Pistols WP432

These guns don't really matter. The only time you'll pull one of these babies
out is if you're run out of ammo either altogether or in your clip and you're
up close. These guns lack the accuracy and firepower to do much damage,
especially against heavily armored people. If you're going to use these, aim
for the head, because it's your only real shot.

MK .23

Damage: 5/10
Range: 3/10
Accuracy: 6/10
Total: 14/30
Magazine Size: 12

This is a decent pistol with average damage and decent accuracy. This is a
Good all around pistol. Only problem is that it lacks range, but you're not
going to be using this at range so what's the difference?

Glock 18

Damage: 3/10
Range: 5/10
Accuracy: 4/10
Total: 12/30
Magazine Size: 10

This pistol is pretty good because it's a machine pistol. This thing fires
automatic, which is good because one of the biggest problems of pistols is
their slow rate of fire, which is now solved with this gun.

92FS

Damage: 4/10
Range: 6/10
Accuracy: 6/10
Total: 16/30
Magazine Size:

This is a good pistol because of it's accuracy, decent damage and good range.
Another awesome thing is that it has 15 bullets in a clip, which is a lot. You
won't have to worry about being "caught with your pants down" with this gun.

G.	Gadgets WP987

GPS Device

This is a gadget that scans the entire area to temporarily reveal the location
of all of the enemies. Having one guy on the team with this is actually really
good because then whenever you're pinned down, or just don't know where the
enemy is you can call that guy to give a GPS, then the enemies will show up.
This is an awesome gadget.

Radar Jammer

This basically jams and disrupts enemy GPS's, as well as Radar in the area. If
you have this you won't have to worry about anyone near you finding out where
you're at with GPS's or using Radar, which is good.

Motion Sensor

You basically setup some laser trip wires, so that as soon as the enemy goes
through it, you'll be alerted. This is good for games like attack and defend,
or Team survival, because you'll be able to cover certain areas without having
anyone there. Your enemy will walk in thinking he's found the gap in your
coverage, then all of a sudden you know he's there and you track him down and
kill him.

Shield

I didn't know what category to put this in so this is the one I put it in. The
shield basically protects you from bullets but you can only hold a pistol.
Sometimes it's good to have who ever is defending the objective in attack and
defend to have one of these. The good thing about this is that it is basically
mobile cover, the bad thing is you won't be able to get kills very quickly or
efficiently because all you have is a pistol.

XM50 Gas Mask

I never use these things. I would much rather have frag grenades, a GPS
device, or a Radar Jammer. What this thing does is protect you against Tear
gas, but tear gas isn't used all that commonly so these aren't too useful. I'll
take a grenade or GPS device anyday.

SF10 Gas Mask

This is another gas mask that does basically the same thing as the XM50.

H.	Explosives WP567

Frag Grenades

These are your basic explosives. These are really useful especially because of
the new cover system. If you're in a fierce firefight with a guy throw a
grenade. This will do one of two things. It will hopefully kill the guy, but
it probably won't. What it will do is force the guy to move, providing you
with a clear shot. Use these to flush people out of their cover so you can
shoot
them.

C4

The way C4 works is that you set it then you remote control it, so when you
want to blow it up you just press the button and it explodes. This makes it
sorta hard to use, but one way it can be useful is if you plant it on an
objective like in attack and defend, like in Calypso Casino and the briefcase.
As soon as you are alerted it's been taken you just blow it up and kill the
guy. That's one way it can be used.

Breaching Charge

These are more campaign items, and are useful in campaign situations, but not
As much in multiplayer situations. The way the charge is used is that you stick
It on a door where you know enemies are hiding at, then you blow up the door and
rush in. Problem with this is that when you're playing against other people
you rarely actually know where they are.

Flashbang

This is another explosive that is used more in campaign. This one is actually
really useful because when it goes off you are totally blinded. No joke. If
that thing goes off right at your feet you won't be able to shoot anything for
3 or 4 seconds which provides a huge window of oppurtunity for the flash thrower
to get a kill. If you learn to use these right you will be deadly. These
things are death.

Tear Gas

This just plain doesn't work. What it does is you throw it, then it has a tear
gas haze settle over the area for a while and whoever walks in there has a sort
of blurry screen and that's about it. If you're going to go with non lethal
grenades, you might as well use Flashbangs.

Incendiary

Oh these are fun. These release White phosphorus into the air which can kill
and eat through anything. Use these much like you would use frag grenades, use
them to get kills and flush people out of their positions.

V. Gametype Strategies

A. Survival TY111

This is a free for all no respawns death match. On this game type, I hate to
condone it, but camping is a very effective strategy. Avoid exposing yourself
because since this is free-for-all, there is no territory that you know is
safe. Keep on the move and shoot whoever you see. This is that game type where
I really can't help you all that out with. You have to get lucky and be a good
shot. The main tip I can give you is just don't expose yourself in wide open
areas, because someone will see you and light you up.

B. Sharpshooter TY241

This is a free for all game type where the player with the most kills wins the
match. It's as simple as that. This is somewhat similar to survival, so use
similar strategies. That is, don't expose yourself in wide open areas, just
don't go buck wild because you'll probably get capped. Be patient, locate your
target and go track him down. Using a silencer would actually be good because
then when you fire they won't know where it's from. Since respawns are enabled
you can be much more risky than survival.

C. Retrieval TY395

This game mode is where your team has to locate some biohazard canisters on the
at a time and take it back to your assigned depot to score points. The
canister sorta spawns in a few random spots in the map and it's your job to
track it down and stick it in your depot for points. A good strategy is to
locate where that thing is spawning, and just go in and get a hold of it. This
is a flash of the obvious, but you can often predict where the canister is going
to spawn, so use this to get ahead of the curve and score. Once one of your
allies does have hold of this, your enemy is going to be heading towards your
depot, so be ready for them. You have to cover your ally as much as you can,
because if he gets shot the canister is dropped. You can of course pick it up,
but you want to have as many people around to escort him in as you can. Get the
guy in there, score, rinse and repeat. Try and use smoke grenades to cover his
movement, so that he doesn't get picked off from a distance.
If your enemy gets a hold of the canister, the first thing to do is make
A break for their depot. Once you make it in there, find a good spot to watch
And wait. A good spot would be an area where he will come in and you can get a
Good shot at him, and you're not exposed to snipers. Sit there and watch and
wait for the carrier, then you pop him good and get the canister. Now chances
are that there are going to be some guys moving in with him, so you're going to
Have to contend with them as well. Another good thiing to do is have one guy
hea towards where the thing spawns so that from there you a hold of it right
away in the case that your enemy does score.

D. Team Survival TY222

Team survival is the same as regular survival except guess what, you're on a
team. This means that since there are no respawns, you actually have to play
smart, and this is where communicating really comes into play. Any
miscommunication could cost your ally his/her life. Then when you lose a guy,
you're outnumbered, now the battle is swinging against you. That's what one
miscommunication or lack of communication will get you. You really have to
work together, make sure that everywhere is covered, and that no one's back is
left uncovered. Flank the enemy force. If one guy gets around and kills a few
people, that will do 2 things. One it gets you kills, which always helps in
battle. The second thing is it causes confusion, a communication breakdown on
the other team. Use this confusion to strike at your enemy and you'll be able
to take the opposing team out like that. * snaps fingers *.

E. Team Sharpshooter TY671

This is the same thing as regular sharpshooter except you're on a team, so
you're going to have to work together to get kills. There's not a whole lot of
strategy to this game type, but one strategy I would use is have everyone cover
each others back, especially when you're going into open casions and areas like
that. If you sense that the enemy is holed up, or is camping or something,
flank them and get around. The one thing about this game is that you can go
anywhere in the map. You could go all the way in their spawn, and sneak all
the way around and shoot the enemy in the back. In other games, that's just not
really possible, or it's just not efficient. In this game type especially,
this is an excellent strategy.

F.	Attack and Defend TY123

Attack and defend is the new objective game mode in rainbow six vegas. The
objective is either a pair of hostages, a briefcase with intel, and that sort
of thing. When you're playing this game type you have to work with your allies
to find the weak point in the opposing team. To help you do that I'm going to
branch this into attackers and defenders.

Attackers:

You're going to have to work together to find the opening, the gap in the
opposing teams defenses. One thing to remember with this game type is that one
score and the game is over. So if you can slip by once, that will be a game
changing, possibly game ending deal. If you or an ally gets a hold of the
objective, then you have to make a clear path for them to get back to the
extraction point for the objective. Before you attack the objective a good
idea would be to say where whoever does get the objective should head. The
worst thing is when you have a guy holding the canister who has a no idea where
to go, and just wanders aimlessly until he's shot. Having an escort isn't a bad
idea either, because when that guy gets the objective, it's going to be a lot
harder for the defenders to track down and kill a posse of 4 guys than just one
guy holding the canister or whatever.

Defenders:

You guys have a hard job. You have to assign different people to cover the
areas where the attack can come from. If you have a single break down in
coverage, it can and will cost you the game. If you do have a break down and
they get the objective, the first thing to do is head towards their spawn or
wherever they're taking the objective, then just watch and wait. That's the
only thing you can do. Just head towards their spawn and shoot the objective
holder. You're not going to have much time, so as soon as you hear that the
objective has been taken just make a dash for where they have to return it.
Once there you're going to have to watch and wait. I would say that when the
attacking team gets the objective, the chances of actually stopping the carrier
is probably about 50-50, so don't let it come to that.

G.	Terrorist Hunt (co-op) TY586

The reason I'm including this is that this is basically when you take the
multiplayer map and stick 30 to 50 terrorists on there and you just go and kill
them. The one thing to really watch for is that you can't enable respawns, so
the second you get killed, that's it. This makes it so that you really have to
be smart and play together if you're going to get through it alive. One of the
big things to do is take your time. Don't be stupid and rush out because you
want to get kills quickly. Flank the terrorists, find out where they are, take
cover, and you'll slowly but surely work your way through it. That's what I
always do. Use smoke, flash, frag, grenades as well as the incendiary gas to
clear through tough parts. Another thing I do is attack rooms and areas at the
same time and at different angles. This will create confusion for the
terrorists, and if one guy is getting shot at, that means the other guy has a
clear shot at them, so he'll be able to take them out.

VI	Map Strategies

In this section I'm going to go through all of the maps, and how to play them
On each of the game modes. I even took the time to film for each map which was
a lot of work. You have no idea how many takes it did to get each one. That's
a lot of stuff, so let's get right to it.

 Border Town MS578

Overview:

This is definitely a ranged combat kind of map. You're going to have a lot of
firefights at distance, so using an assault rifle with a 6X isn't going to be a
bad idea. A good idea on this map is to have at least one guy hang back and be
a sniper. This is actually one of those maps where snipers can actually be
used effectively. Most maps are close range battles, but this one is actually
almost all at medium to long range.

How to play this map: Survival

This is going to be a tough map to survive and not totally get shot up. Try
And avoid at all costs. You will get sniped, or just shot up while crossing
that open terrain. Try and stay inside as much as you can, because this is
where you will not be vulnerable to all of the long distance fire.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

Similar thing as for survival. Chances are you're going to have one idiot in
the game that has no idea why he's getting shot going across open areas. Try
and find this person and kill them. If you have no such person then it's going
to be a bit tougher, so yeah. Another main thing to try and do is hide in a

How to play this map: Team Survival

On this map snipers are huge. They will play a large part of the battle, and
dictate the course it will take. In the big courtyard you have 2 sniping
areas. You have the church, and then you have the buildings that are across from
that. Having snipers support you when you're going across the areas is a big
deal. This is going to help so much, not only as a killing force but also as a
recon force.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

Snipers are going to be a big part of this like it is for Team Survival. Use
teamwork to navigate and get through the big firefights you're going to have.
This map is extremely exciting in terms of the firefights you're going to have.
Since this is Team Sharp shooter with respawns, over the course of the game
you're going to have to adjust to the direction the game is heading. This
includes what side they're attacking from, if they're hanging back and sniping
or rushing and the general flow of the map.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The canister spawns inside of the buildings that are right in front of the
church. You're going to have some pretty good fights over the courtyard when
you're trying to score the canister. You're going to have to either deposit it
right next to the church, or up at where the streets merge at the beginning of
the map. You're going to have to score it across some open terrain which is
pretty tough. Throwing smoke is a good way to provide cover.

How to play this map: Attack and Defend

Attackers:

The objective is two hostages, so you can be happy that if the defenders do cap
the hostage, you win. When you're attacking this map be aware of snipers.
Since your opponents are defending their objective they're just going to hang
back and pick you off as you come. That's what makes smoke grenades really
important. Usually when people are getting sniped they try and grab a sniper
then cap them. The best thing to do is just equip smoke grenades which will
cover you and enable you to get close and kill them with your assault rifle or
submachine gun.

Defenders:

Make sure to plant a guy up at the top of the church with a sniper rifle. This
guy will be able to watch the enemy attacking. He'll be able to do this from a
height, and he'll be able to see them and then relay his information to you and
your allies. Not to mention he'll be able to shoot guys. See the main thing
is that this game isn't always just about seeing a guy and shooting him, this is
Rainbow Six. You need to know where he is, this will give you a huge
advantage. Amongst other things take cover and seal off the points of entry that
the guys can enter from. The thing that you have to remember with the houses,
is that's where that sniper on the top of the church is going to have to step up
and pop those guys on the top of the houses.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

This map is going to have a lot of ranged combat, so be ready for that. Have a
couple of people go down the street on the left, and have the other guys go
straight ahead. From here you need to work together to get through all of the
firefights you're going to have. If one team is getting just shot up, chances
are that the other team has a clear shot at them, and vice versa. When you're
attacking the church you should have a team rappel up it then go down through
the stairs, and have the other team breach in through the windows. You could
also have one team breach in from each side as well, it's up to you.

Calypso Casino MS309

This is a close range map. Other than the combat you're going to encounter up
on the rooftop, it's all close range cover duels. You're going to have intense
firefights especially in the main room with all of the slot machines.
Especially considering that you can fast rope in from it. Another key thing is
cover on this map. Considering that there are so many slot machines all over,
that means that there are lots of areas in which you can hide behind and take
cover.

How to play this map: Survival

In this map there is so much close combat that the best thing to do is just
find an area and patrol around it. Avoid going into the main Slot Machine room
because people are just going to be shooting each other up in that room. The
thing is that since there are so many slot machines all over the map you're
going to have lots of cover to use so take advantage of it.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

Keep moving. When you get a kill just keep on the move. This will make it so
that you're harder to hit, and you won't get pinned down as easily. Take
cover, be smart, don't move into open big rooms, but just keep on the move in
general. This is so that you can encounter people and get more kills. See in
survival, you don't want to see people. You want to let every one else kill
each other. In Sharpshooter you just want kills, so your best bet is to keep
moving, especially in this map.

How to play this map: Team Survival

Work Together to make sure that all of the corridors and hallways are accounted
for. Since there are all of the walls and slot machines to use this won't be
hard. Really be careful and use lots of cover, because this map probably
provides the most cover in the game. I'm saying this because this map has so
many walls and slot machines use, so that's the real key to focus on.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

Similar thing, except you have a bit more flexibility to move out into the open
considering that one bullet wont end your game. Use this to really flank your
opponent. They'll be using so much cover that you can totally flank them, or
send an ally to go do that to get the easy kill. If you do get shot flanking
them, don't worry, you got respawns.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The Canister spawns right between the casino and the elevator shaft you can
Fast rope down. What makes this hard is that instantly upon picking up the
canister you're going to be in a lot of cross fire, especially if you spawned
down in the vaults. That's because you're going to have to go through the main
casino and go all the way to the top to score it. It's also hard to score it
the other way because you have to go all the way down to the bottom in the
vaults and score there so both ways is tough.

How to play this map: Attack and Defend

Attackers:

ON this map you really want to avoid trying to fast rope into the middle of the
map. You can try, but you'll probably get shot up from different directions
and quickly get confused and you'll wind up dead. My preferred way is to either
fast rope down the elevator shaft, or rappel down the side of the Casino and
breach into the slot machine room. What I like about doing this is that this
will enable to work your way through the level room by room, table by table,
instead of fast roping into the middle of the action and getting shot up.

Defenders:

Cover the areas leading down to the vault in which the briefcase is in. There
aren't too many areas that actually lead down into that vault, so if you can
just cut off those few areas you'll be in good shape to protect the briefcase.
If your enemy does get a hold on the intel, just head up towards their spawn.
You can actually get up onto the roof and walk right to where the carrier is
going to return the item. That's the main thing to do in the case that they do
get it.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

As soon as the game starts you're going to encounter a few terrorists out on
The roof. Make sure you take them out before moving on. You'll see a small
little building in the middle of the roof. Open up this door and a few
terrorists will come streaming in. Take them out. Now from here it's really
up to you. You can go down the elevator shaft and work your way through the
casino from there. You could also repel down the side although I prefer going
down the elevator shaft. From there you just have to take cover and work your
way through the casinos.

Casino Vault MS475

This is a good map for ranged indoor combat. You're going to have intense
shootouts in this map, and I think this is a perfect submachine map. The
majority of your combat is going to be at 10 to 20 feet. This is prime
submachine gun range.

How to play this map: Survival

On this map it's going to be unusually hard to survive because of all of the
indoor ranged combat you're going to encounter. If it be in the main vault
room, the tunnel leading up to it, or the hallway leading to it from the
offices. All of these are potential death areas that you would want to steer
clear of.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

Similar deal as above, but you just want to keep on the move. Keep moving
around the offices, the vault, and the hallway leading up to it. I guarantee
you'll run into people in those areas. Problem is that you'll probably get
shot in the back half the time, but that happens on every map anyway.

How to play this map: Team Survival

You really want to secure the vault area. The hallway leading up to it is
Going to be a major fighting area. A smart idea is to have a couple of guys
hang in the hallway and the vault area, then send the bulk of your force through
the office areas and have them swing around. This will enable you to flank the
opposing force and wipe them out. You'll probably run into people along the
way but you're going to have to silence them.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

You're going to encounter the bulk of your combat either in the vault or in the
hallway leading up to it. So get ready for that. Make sure your using a gun
you like at a distance, such as a UMP 45, and stick, a rifle scope on it.
You're going to have to scope in for the majority of your kills. Also take
cover and use grenades because in the firefights you'll have in the vault and
the hallway grenades are going to play a huge part in that.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The Canister spawns in the big room with all of the filing cabinets and all.
Alpha team has to deposit the canister in a small office, bravo team has to
deposit it in a bigger room with plenty of cover. The spot leading up to the
office where Alpha team has to deposit the canister has some long hallways
where you're going to have some intense firefights. Also, it's tough to score
the canister as bravo team because the room you have to score it in is in a big
room, where shots could come from anywhere.

How to play this map: Attack and Defend

Attackers:

You're going to have to attack your objective which is located inside of the
main room. You're going to have to get the intel back from the main room and
bring it back to your spawn. You can either work your way through the offices
or see if you actually make it through the long hallway and through the vault.
That's going to be pretty tough. A good idea is to have a couple of guys just
hold the hallway under control and have your main attack force swing around.

Defenders:

If you can keep the hallway and the offices in check you're going to be good in
terms of defending the intel. Watch for the use of grenades as your opponent's
are probably going to be rushing through the hallways and chucking grenades as
they go. One of the other things to do is have some people in the upstairs
part as well so that if someone does break through your front line, you'll be
able to pop them as they come in.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

When you play this map, you're going to have to deal with 2 big rooms. One of
these is the filing cabinet room, where the canister spawns in retrieval. This
is going to be hard, but the best way to clear is as follows. After clearing
the first vault room right outside of your spawn, you'll notice some stairs
leading upstairs. Take these, and at this level there are 2 doors. Have one
guy go through each. There will also be a couple doors leading to the same
room that is on the ground floor. Have your other 2 guys go through these.
Doing this will enable you to go into that room and have all of the angles
covered. Now this is where things will get out of control. You're just gonna
have to improvise, take some quick accurate shots and stay behind cover to get
through this part. The thing I would use is a lot of frag grenades, because
you'll be able to get plenty of terrorist kills that way. Then once you have
this room done it's on to the vault. This room is quite easy, and you can take
the tunnel to this room, and there's a couple doors leading to it. Come in at
one time and you'll handle it easily. Now all you've got left is the offices.
Have a couple of guys work their way through the hallway that leads to the
offices. This hallway has the vending machine and the potted plants and all
that, this is the one that you always seem to fight in when playing team
sharpshooter. Then you'll notice that in the main room you just had a fight in
there's a door that also will lead to the offices. Have a pair of guys go
through each. The guys going down the hallway will be able to flank the
terrorists and swing around the back while the guys going through the other
door.

Dam MS365

This map has a combination of ranged combat and close range combat. You're
going to have pretty intense shootout inside of the big room with all of the
machinery. Be ready for some good fights in there because that's what you're
going to be having a lot of.

How to play this map: Survival

This is actually an easier one to survive on because there is a lot of close
range combat in the corridors. You should probably just patrol those areas.
Don't go into the main room because you'll get capped. There's just too many
angles you can get shot from to actually make it through there.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

This maps fun on sharpshooter. Heading towards the main room isn't a bad idea
because you'll get plenty of opportunities to get kills and thus get points.
That's the main thing to remember when play this map. The only hard thing I
would say is that you'll get capped plenty so you're going to have to deal with
that.

How to play this map: Team Survival

You're going to have to really work together on this map especially when you're
handling the big turbine room. You're going to have to relay what you see and
where the enemy is because if you don't, you're going to have lot's of issues
getting sniped and losing guys.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

Go to the main turbine room because being here will provide you plenty of
opportunities to get kills, which of course will get you points. Using an
assault rifle isn't a bad idea considering that a lot of the combat is going to
be ranged, especially in the main room. Having an assault rifle will give you
the firepower you're going to need to pop those guys at long range.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The Canister spawns in the big turbine room, on the ground in the middle of it.
This means that you're going to get shot a bunch just trying to reach it. A
good idea is to have a couple of guys on your team just make sure that the top
is clear, and have a couple of guys make sure that the ground area is clear.
In otherwords it's good to assign some people a zone. The room with the
canister is a multi level room so to actually get through it alive you're going
to need to really work together.

How to play this map: Attack and defend

The briefcase is located inside of a small computer room. To get here I would
try to avoid going through the main room. You could also through the main room
on the bottom but that's risky. The best thing is just work your way there,
and you can actually hit the room from several different angles, so do that.
Have one guy toss a frag in there and then have another guy come from the back.
This will cause confusion giving you a good shot at the briefcase.

Defenders:

Just stay near the computer room, maybe send a couple of guys into the main
room. This will enbale you to pick off anyone trying to either fast rope from
the roof, as well as guys coming in from the other rooms. It's actually not
too hard to defend the objective because it's located in a small room that only
has a few doors leading to it, so just patrol the corridors aroud the door and
make sure to have a couple guys in there. This one is actually pretty easy to
defend.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

This is actually a really hard one for a couple of reasons. One is that you
have to take care of the main turbine room, which is huge and is going to have
a lot of really intense firefights. I guarantee you'll lose somebody in there.
The other thing is that there are a lot of doors and corridors leading to the
areas surrounding the main turbine room, so you'll run into situations where
you'll have cleared areas but terrorists went back through them and shot you in
the back. So the number one thing to do when clearing the main room is have
some people work their way through the ground floor, while other people work
their way through the top. This will prevent terrorists from totally flanking
your team.

Dante's MS852

This is actually a pretty small map where you're going to have a lot of combat
taking place pretty quickly. You have an outdoor area that is quite small, so
not a whole lot of combat in there. Most of it is going to be inside the
casino, which comprises of a couple big rooms where you will encounter some
ranged combat, as well as some smaller corridors for point blank shooting.

How to play this map: Survival

This is going to have a lot of close combat so get ready for a match of quick
reflexes. If you're slow, then you're out. I would say as usual use cover,
but one thing that is useful on this map is the snake cam. There are a lot of
long hallways in which the snake cam would be useful for taking a peek under the
door to see if anyone is in there before opening it.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

Going into outside and going to the big casino room isn't bad for getting some
quick kills, especially when you have a lot of people. The other thing to keep
in mind is that you're going to want to keep on the move when you get your
kills. There's a lot of corridors so you're going to find that people are
going to hunt you down when they hear your shot. That's why you really want to
keep on the move while playing this.

How to play this map: Team Survival

Now since it's team survival you really want to cover all of the areas that
Your enemy is going to come in at. This would mean covering the big rooms, the
outside area, and all of the corridors leading up and around. If you don't do
this there will be problems, namely that of getting shot up from behind or
something like that.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

Team Sharpshooter is a chaotic game. As usual just run around and kill people,
but try to really use the long corridors and big spacy rooms to flank the
opposing team. As usual you're encountering a lot mid ranged combat in the
hallways. If you have a buddy with you send him around another hallway so he
can catch the guy. This is an awesome general strategy which is especially
useful on this map.

How to play this map: Retrieval

You're going to have a lot of corridor and hallway combat. So having a
submachien gun is going to be best. When you are holding the canister it's a
good idea to avoid going across the main rooms and areas because you can just
as easily go around and through the hallways where you won't just get shot up
from the side somewhere. That's the big thing to remember because you can
basically score the canister without having to cross open terrain.

How to play this map: Attack and Defend

Attackers:

You're going to have to defuse a bomb, which happens to be located inside of a
large room which has a bunch of corridors leading to it. You're going to be
hard pressed to attack this bomb because it's in a big room which can be
covered from a lot of angles. A good idea is throw smoke and just run in there.
An even better idea would be to throw a flashbang or two, then run in and see if
you can neutralize it before they get their bearings.

Defenders:

One thing I tend to do is spawn at point B in the Elevator room and just rush
out onto the balcony. You can almost always find some lonely soul trudging
across the open ground. You know what to do from there. Another thing to do
is go down to the ground floor and see if you can find some of them coming from
that same courtyard. One key thing to remember is that the room that the bomb
is located in is pretty big, so you can probably have at least one guy just
hide in a corner and camp on the bomb.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

Right out of your spawn you're going to notice that you can take two routes out
of your spawn. One is a door and another is a long hallway. Have two people
take each route. This will enable you to attack the outdoor area from multiple
angles. Once you get to the outside area you just are going to have to slug
your way through it. Once it is clear you're going to notice that there is a
single door along the lit hallway. You can take this as well as the double
doors that are in the parking lot next to the cars. It's good to have someone
take each. Both the double doors and the single door lead to the same room,
which is a room with a lot of scaffolding. Once you clear through this room
there are a couple of doors that lead around the casino. You can have someone
take each. From here it's basically a clean up job.

Library MS209

This is a good map with lot's of indoor combat. This combat is going to take
place over short ranges and longer ranges, so I think a submachine gun is your
best bet. The one thing you will notice is that there is a lot of clutter on
this map. I mean that by saying there is a lot of crap laying around that
provides awesome cover, so you want to shoot carefully, because you don't want
him to hear the shot and then detect you.

How to play this map: Survival

There are plenty of corridors for you to wander around and patrol, and these
will be good because if you do see a guy you'll have a fair chance of killing
him. It will be face to face, none of that get shot from a different angle of
the map stuff.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

Similar Deal here, but when I play this map I actually go outside for a couple
reasons. One, it gives me a chance to just wander around and get some kills,
more importantly though is that I can rappel to the top of the building, go
down through the roof, or breach in on my way up. Since I have respawns, I'm
willing to risk going outside so I can play more flexibly.

How to play this map: Team Survival

If you're the team that spawns outside then what I like to do is either go
through the double doors or rappel up the top with a couple allies. This
enables me to get to the combat quickly, and since I have teammates, I know
that someones got my back.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

On this map just in general have everyone attack from a diffferent angle. That
means going to the top, rappeling inside, whatever you have. This map is
almost all indoor, so be ready for lot's of inter room fights. Use your allies
to help flank your enemy, especially when he/she is pinned down, which won't be
hard considering that everyone is going to be in such close proximity of each
other.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The canister spawns outside of the building. That means that you better be
ready for ranged combat because you're going to have plenty of fights in the
parking lot over the canister, especially in a full server. Once you do get a
hold of the canister just get inside as quickly as possible because you don't
want to be outside exposing yourself. Once you do get inside you just have to
slowly work your way towards the depot and submit it in. Just be patient and
you'll be fine.

How to play this map: Attack and defend

Attackers:

You're going to have to retrieve a couple of hostages, who are both in a room
that is right in the main library. This means that you can probably create a
lot of crossfire between the rooms that are holding the hostages. You really
want to be careful to not cap the hostage though as you'll fail the mission.
Once you do have the hostages you're going to have to take them back outside of
the library to rescue them.

Defenders:

Both of the hostages are in rooms that can be covered quite easily if you just
setup some people to cover the corridors leading up to it. You really want to
be careful with the use of C4 on this map. Especially if they already have a
hostage and they are bringing the second one along with them. If they do get a
hostage, just go outside and you'll be able to pick whoever is holding the
hostages once their outside.

LVU Campus MS961

This map is basically two office buildings connected by two bridges going
Across and a couple of doors leading in on the ground. You're going to have a
lot of intense firefights across these bridges as well as in the office once you
have crossed the bridge. The other thing to keep in mind is that you can
actually attack the other teams spawn quite effectively on this level. You can
really camp it, which some might consider cheap, but some consider a strategy.
I won't get into that debate.

How to play this map: Survival

First thing you want to remember is avoid being between the two buildings. If
you're on the bridge you're probably going to get shot by someone from either
building. So go in one building and stay in there. The other thing I tend to
do is take a point in the office and just watch from there, some might call it
camping but it does work. You can also choose to keep on the move through the
offices, which isn't a bad idea. You just want to avoid crossing between the
two buildings.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

You can choose to either patrol around the top of the level, or on the ground
floor and the areas around it. You'll be able to get some pretty good kills at
the top especially because people are always crossing between the two
buildings. Depending on where you go you're going to either encounter a lot of
mid range combat, or more close range indoor situations. It's up to you what
you want to fight and at what distance, it just depends on where you go.

How to play this map: Team Survival

You're probably going to see a pile of dead bodies laying on the top of the
bridge that connects to the building by the end of the game. Actually an
excellent strategy is to have a couple of guys just throw grenades from the
bridge into the opposing building, and just act as a diversion while the bulk
of
your force goes on the ground and comes from up under the other team. This is
an excellent way to just flank your opposing force and just kill them.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

The main spot of combat is going to be across the buildings on the bridge.
That's where I like to go just because I can't resist an opportunity to get
Some kills at a distance. That's why I like to go across the bridge. But you
can go where you want. Going across the courtyard beneath the bridge and into
the building from the ground is an excellent way to flank your opposing team.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The canister spawns right under the bridge between the two buildings. This
means that you're going to have to scratch and claw your way to get a hold of
the canister. Once you do get it you can choose to either enter the buildings
from the bottom, or go back up the stairs and cross the bridge. Going across
the bridge is sort of risky cause you can get capped from plenty of different
angles. Once you do have it you're going to have to go into the offices and
score from there. SO having some shotgunners go ahead of you and clear out the
offices is an excellent idea when trying to score it.

How to play this map: Attack and Defend

Attackers:

You're going to have to defuse a bomb on this map. The bomb is located inside
of a small office in one of the buildings. You really want to be careful
attacking it because the bomb is located inside of a small room where the
defenders could easily C4 the area or just camp it. There are 2 ways to go
into the bomb area. One is directly through the library on the ground, and the
other more efficient way is around the back. If you go around the back way
you'll be more likely to flank the guy who is guarding it.

Defenders:

You can easily camp the area around the bomb and the room that it is in
specifically. To get to this room they're going to have to go across the
library and expose themselves. There is only one way that goes around, which
is in the back that you have to worry about. IF you have guys patrolling the
library and a couple guys inside the bomb room there is no way they're going to
be able to defuse the bomb without killing everybody.

Research Labs MS723

This map is going to have quite a bit of mid range-long range combat. The
reason being that in the big room with the yellow stairs leading up you'll have
plenty of long range combat situations. Almost too long for a submachine gun,
so if that's where you're going to be heading then pick up an assault rifle.
Most of the room to room combat is actually prime submachine gun range. The
reason being that when you open that door you're going to be looking into
pretty large rooms, where you'll have good firefights, taking cover and all
that.

How to play this map: Survival

Avoid going into the big room with yellow stairs because you'll most likely get
capped going around there. The hardest thing is that if you do go in there
you're going to have to deal with guys who are probably waiting for someone
just like you to poke their head out, so don't be the idiot to do that.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

Going into the main room isn't a bad idea, but you want to be careful. If you
start getting shot and you're just not doing well pull out of that area because
you don't want to be giving other guys free kills. In fact a good idea is to
try to work your way around the main room and see if you can get some kills by
flanking the guys on the ground.

How to play this map: Team Survival

You're going to see a lot of combat either in the main room, but most likely in
the big silver room with filing cabinets. That room, and the rooms leading up
to it. This is definitely a submachine gun map, and with no respawns you're
not going to get much of a chance to actually go to the main room and catch guys
as they're coming out of their spawn.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

You'll definitely see a high amount of combat in the big room because respawns
are enabled, as well as the rooms leading up to the big filing cabinet silver
room. Sorry that's a horrible description, but I'm sure you know what room I'm
talking about. If you spawn in the lower part of the map be careful of going
through the huge room because chances are you're going to run into some fights
just getting through there.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The Canister spawns downstairs inside of the building. One of the hardest
things is once you do get a hold of the canister you're going to have to either
go across the big room where you could get capped and not even see the shooter;
or you're going to have to go across some hallways and long corridors and fight
your way through that. That's going to be pretty tough. Considering this map
is so huge, it's a good idea to send a couple guys to sweep around the whole
map and shoot up the other team in the back as they're trying to score.

How to play this map: Attack and Defend

Attackers:

On this map you're going to have to attack a briefcase which is located inside
of a small room, which means that bringing grenades or even breaching charges
wouldn't be a bad idea. Trust me though, if you think just grabbing the
briefcase is tough, it's going to be even harder to get it to your extraction
point. The reason is that the defenders could easily rush over there, take
cover against a wall and just wait. There is only one way into the extraction
point, so if they get there first you're going to have to go through an uphill
fight to score it. It's going to be tough, and that's going to be one of your
hardest things to deal with.

Defenders:

I tend to rush out and see If I can intercept some of the guys coming in from
the larger room, into the smaller rooms. A lot of the rooms can easily be
covered if you just take cover and watch them, considering that all of the
areas that lead to the objective can be covered if you can just watch 3 or 4
doors. If you can cover these you're good for defending it. Just makes sure you
don't get shot up in the back or something.

Streets MS692

This is a classic map that has been around at least since Rainbow Six Rogue
Spear, I don't know if it was in the original. This is an awesome map,
Probably the greatest rainbow six map, along with kill house. This is an old
classic. Anyway, enough of the history lesson, let's dive into it.

How to play this map: Survival

I would probably go underground if you want to survive. The reason being that
if you're on the surface level you're probably going to get capped by someone
in one of the buildings, or someone on the ground up there. The reason for that
is that it's just such a wide open area that there's no way that there isn't one
guy watching the area. If you go underground every time you encounter a guy
you'll have an even chance because you'll see the guy, where as when you're up
at the surface you'll get shot up and never even see the guy.

How to play this map: Sharpshooter

This is really up to you on how to play this. If you're better at close, point
blank combat then go underground, because that's where you'll encounter that.
If you prefer ranged combat then stay up on the surface, because you'll
encounter plenty of that. If you do choose to go at the surface then it's
probably smart to go in a building and just shoot guys from there. Then when
you get a couple of kills, move your position so no one can really track you
down and kill you.

How to play this map: Team Survival

A good strategy is to have a couple of guys just look out the window of the
spawn and see if they can pick anybody off right off the bat. Have another
pairof guys swing under the map and work their way to the enemy spawn. Then
have another pair of guys just go to the middle of the map at the surface level
and go inside the buildings on the side. From here they can shoot anybody who's
hiding in the middle building or who's wandering around on the ground. You'll
basically be able to have eyes all over the surface of the map. That's huge,
then you can focus on what's going on underground.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

Similar strategy, but it doesn't really matter if somebody gets killed because
there are respawns. I would definitely have some guys watching the enemy spawn
point from the base, as well as have guys work their way towards the enemy
spawn and put pressure on it. This will give the guys working underground a
chance to get in and really give the enemy base trouble. You'll basically be
able to just put a lot of pressure on the enemy spawn which is huge.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The canister spawns underground between the two bases. This means that it
Would be nice to have a couple of shotgunners for assaulting that part of the
map. You're going to have lot's of point blank combat in this map, especially
when you're fighting over the canister, so be ready for that. If you're trying
to prevent the other team from scoring the canister once they have the canister,
a good idea is to plant some people in the buildings so that when come above the
surface you can pop them.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

This one is tough. I would say have a pair of guys take care of the surface
level, then have another pair of guys go underground and work their way around
there. Be really careful sending guys to the middle of the map because you'll
probably get shot down over there. They'll probably get swarmed by terrorists
and then shot up, so don't do that. Have the guys going underground force the
guys in all of the buildings to come out so that the guys watching the surface
can pick them off.

Kill House MS297

This is another old map that has been around for a while. This map doesn't
support attack and defend though so be ready for that. You have some big
hallways that separate two big buildings. These buildings have multiple levels
where a lot of close combat is going to occur. You're also going to have to
deal with some intense ranged combat outside because there are a lot of long
hallways and just big areas between the two buildings where you're going to
have ranged combat.

How to play this map: Survival

This is going to be tough. You're going to have a lot of different angles that
you're going to have to worry about being shot from. That sucks because this
is one of those maps where there are so many angles to come from, and it's just
going to be a matter of luck with surviving on this map.

This is going to
be quite a task so you're going to need to assign some people to cover each
area, otherwise your going to get flanked.

How to play this map: Team Sharpshooter

As always it's going to be similar. If you're finding that you're getting shot
up a bunch try rappelling or going into the buildings themselves. Just keep on
the move. On this map there are a lot of areas you can flank your opponent
from. SO really keep that in mind. This is actually quite a small map, it's
just that there is a lot of open space.

How to play this map: Retrieval

The Canister spawns right between the two houses. That means you're going to
have some intense firefights in the area right around the canister. If you can
just get out of the courtyard with the canister you'll have achieved something.
To help you out with that a good thing to do is throw smoke. This will make it
so that if someone wants to take you out they're going to have to get right up
in your face.

How to play this map: Terrorist Hunt

A good thing to do is have one guy go up the stairs and have another guy take
each side at the base of the building. Once you have cleared through the first
courtyard you can begin clearing the building. Have the guy at the top come
down through the stairs and the other two guys go through the bottom. This
will enable you to attack the building from two different sides, which helps a
lot. Once you've done that have each guy take one side of the tunnel that leads
into the next courtyard. It's basically the same thing you did in the first
building, except now you're not spawning in the back, you're coming from the
front. So clear the back of the building, then have a guy go up the top and do
the same thing you did for the first building, that is have a guy come from the
top and have guys come from the bottom.
