Credits and Contact Info _______________________________________________________________________________ 1.) Introduction This is my first guide to a game, so its going to likely be a bit rusty, but I think Ill get my point across pretty well, Ill include the setup I used to get all this info, and Ill give credit to the users here on GameFAQs, both the Sub-objective guide maker, Prothean, and the users on the boards for tips on how to do the extra missions. _______________________________________________________________________________ 2.) Tips for that First play thru of the game, and my favorite setup First playthru, set difficulty to easy, play through the game, don't worry about the sub objectives, merely try to get as kills as you can. On this difficulty, just stick with the weapons you get for free from the game, since they're typically good enough here, with only one mission, Flaming Clouds, which is mission 11, being all that difficult, though on easy, with some mid level missiles, youll be able to pass this one without too much trouble. Once you win main game, download the DLC, and then use a trick to get all the weapons unlocked for it. First, make a separate save for the clear file, then load that, and start a new game. At the launch screen, go into arsenal, and buy all the weapons you can, once done, go to system menu, and then reload the clear file without saving, now, get the weapons you didn't get last time, and simply repeat this process until you've unlocked all weapons. Then do the extra missions to unlock their weapons. You don't have to do them all, however. I believe the Divider unlocks after the score attack mission, and once you have that, that's all you need for this strategy. Once you have the Divider, all you need is Fire Control System, and then...well, you can leave the other slot for weapons blank, as really, that's all you need. Why This setup, you may ask? Well, first, look at all the Laser weapons in the game, and notice that not a one of them has a damage rating above a C in the main game. There's a reason for this, they're instant hits. No dodging from fancy maneuvers, no ability to counter, just instant death. Thing is, at power rating C, they can't one hit kill anything. Not so with the Divider, which is a massive weapon(Bigger than the Delta Saber), which has power and range ratings of A. With this thing equipped, all fighters go down in one shot(Save for Gargantuans on hard). The best way to take out fighters is to get them when they're all together, and fire the laser in a stagger patter, quickly pressing and then letting go of the fire button. Reason you need the Fire Control System, is because, despite it's description, what it does is add tracking to Laser, Gun, and Beam type weapons, meaning that with it equipped, you merely need to be kind of facing the enemy, to kill them. So setup Nose: Whatever you want, though I pick Saber LG1 or Spitfire due to them being more damaging than the other nose weapons, but a few of the gun types might be nice, since guns ignore shields and dont overheat, however, since they do such low damage, and have small range, I rarely use them. Main 1: I leave blank, since I never use it, and it's annoying to switch between this and the Divider at the start of every mission, but if you must pick, I'd say go with either Eagle 120AM for some added power against fighters, or Dart 23 Rockets, to take out ships when you accidentally overheat the Divider Main 2: Fire Control System, again, this one adds tracking to the Divider, allowing you to only have to be close to the enemy with your crosshairs, not spot on, allowing for easier aiming. Main 3: Divider L3GP, the Hammer of God, and comparable to the Falken's laser weapon in Ace Combat 5 for the PS2, it has the ability to take out almost any fighter with a single stagger fire, and ships in only a few seconds of sustained fire. _______________________________________________________________________________ 3.) Enemy List Alright, now that we know the weapon to use, lets discuss those guys youll be using it on, the ADAN Alliance. Ill go in the order they appear, and list what type they are, Fighter(Single Engine Trail), Bomber(Double Engine Train), Multi Role(Fighters that have bombs), Small Ship, Mid Ship, or Big Ship, as well as what I believe their HP rating is on normal, which is halved in Easy mode, and doubled for Hard, so you get about the same amount of points per enemy, as they have HP. Turret, Fighter, Approximate HP 50. These are the most basic enemy, and really, theyre nothing to you. C rated weapons do about 50 damage per hit, so once youre past the first missions, you should have a weapon that can take these guys out in a single hit. Luckily, most of the time, they spawn in a swarm, so you can take them out really quick with a single barrage of missiles, or a few shots from other weapons. Cyclopes, Bomber, Approximate HP 150. These are also the most basic of the basic, and are simple bombers. Their bombs do about 50 damage, meaning that it takes a lot of hits for these guys to even noticeably damage the Acropolis, or any of the ships youre protecting. Again, a few missiles, and these guys go down easy. Destroyers, Small Ship, Approximately 1000 HP. Your first ship, and one youll likely as not destroy, despite the protests of your flight lead, as even in that first mission, these things arent that strong. The unfortunate part is, after that first time, Destroyers will typically spawn in groups, usually 3. Fortunately, your weapons get better quick enough that no matter how many spawn, youll take these guys out without thinking about it. Cruisers, Medium Ship, Approximately 5000 HP. These are the early big guns, and boy, do they pack a punch. The first time you encounter these, in mission two, I highly recommend just ignoring them, as you wont have the fire power to take them out easily, and they like to target every weapon on you when youre in range, a single volley on hard capable of stripping your shields, and getting you down to half health. Luckily, you quickly get some better weapons, and by mission 6 you should be able to take these guys out with little trouble. ASF Frigates, Small Ships, Approximately 500 HP. These are jokes, setup just so you can knock them down. Their HP rating is so low, it doesnt take a lot to kill them, and you never encounter them in huge groups, the largest I think being 8, in 4 groups of two during Mission 8. Just take them out for the easy points. Inter Stellar Cruise Missiles, Small Ships, Approximately 500 HP. The objective targets in part 3 of mission 2, and thats the only place they appear, barring 1 at the very end of extra mission 1. These fly relatively quickly, about 200 klicks, and can reach the base they're aimed at in about 2 mins after appearing. Taking them out earns an achievement and sub objective for that mission, and theyre not that hard, so do your best. Night Ravens, Fighters, Approximately 250 HP. The enemy aces, these guys are quite a bit harder than Turrets, mostly because they have the ability to start juking and diving around like you do, dodging your guns and missiles. Luckily, theyre not that good at it, and stop after a second, allowing you to jam a few missiles up their tailpipe, and take them out. Elan, Multi Role, Approximately 150 HP. These areunique, and one of the fighters youll encounter most often in the story mode. They seem to have both bombs and normal fighter weapons, making them a mix of both the Turret and Cyclopes, with some good damage, and maneuverability. However, since theyre the same as level one versions of those two types, theyre still not a big deal unless a huge group is targeting an allied ship, so take them out, but dont focus on them. Night Raven Aces, Fighters, Approximate HP 500-1000. There are luckily, only two of these in the whole game, ones the second in command of the Night Ravens, the other is their leader. In 2 missions you have to destroy the Second to get the leader to appear, and then you fight the leader alone in 2 other missions. Unfortunately, these guys are actually pretty tough, keeping up with the dodging, and forcing you to follow them closely to get the good hits in. Luckily, with their HP values, and a few multi lock missiles, you can take them out in a pass or five, and once theyre dead, the missions involving them end. Turret Plus, Fighter, Approximate HP 100. Doubled HP and weapons doesnt make the Turret any more of a threat that it was, so just take these guys out the same way as before. Gargantuan, Bomber, Approximate HP 250. Not quite doubled HP for these guys, however, their bombs are now able to do 3 times as much damage. Thats a bad thing since they typically go right after the Acropolis, which can only survive about 25 hits before going down, and they fire about once a minute, so a group of these(Typically appear in flights of 4), can gut the Acropolis quicker than youd think, so take these guys out ASAP in missions where they appear. Hellfire Squadron, Bombers, Approximately 500 HP. Advanced bomber aces, this is a squad of 4, and they have a tendency to spawn in certain missions. Usually theres a sub-objective of killing them quickly, and thats a good idea, since their bombs, by my own estimation, do about 500 damage, almost 10 times the average bomber, and a bit more than 3 times what advanced bombers do. Not fun, but since theyre special targets(having lighting icons on them), youll know where they are at all times, and know youre supposed to take them out. Since theyre bombers, theyre not very agile at all, so a few good missiles take these out. Take them out in every mission to earn an achievement. Carrier, Medium Ship, Approximate HP 2500. With about half the HP of the Acropolis, these guys are actually still pretty tough targets, as they continue to spawn fighters, either at a fixed rate, or during certain parts of missions. As well as that, they seem to have the same fire power as a Destroyer, including its big gun, but target only fighters, meaning you. That fire can take you out on hard mode easily, but seems to have at best a C range rating, so just keep your distance, and take these guys out to prevent fighter from spawning. Battleship, Big Ship, Approximate HP 10000. The big guns, and one youll run into a few times in the main game. These are the enemy flag ships for most of the game, and they can take your fighter out with a single volley of shots on normal, so speed runs against these things are a must, especially on hard mode, where they have some better tracking. Luckily, theyre immobile, other than moving forward, and so some concentrated bombing from a distance can take them out with a bit of difficulty. This is one of the few targets where it might actually be a good idea to target those sub systems, if only to render the guns inoperable so you can fly close. Mines, Small Ships, Approximate HP 500. Stationary targets, appearing only in mission 8 in the main game, and the 3rd extra mission in the DLC. They exist to be destroyed, despite Cutscenes and even a level opening showing them taking out ships. Just blow them up at your leisure. Guilty Rose Squadron, Fighters, Approximate HP 500. An all female squadron, and thus, inferior to youI kid. Theyre actually pretty tough if you let them split up, as theyre agile, and can seemingly change course on a dime, diving and juking about like mad women, avoiding almost everything you toss at them. Best suggestion is simply to do some runs with missiles, get as far away as you can, then dive straight at them, as they have a tendency to come right at you, allowing quick released missiles to slam into their cockpits, and giving you some easy kills. Like with Hellfire, you typically get sub objectives to take these ladies down quickly. Also like the Hellfire, take them out in every mission they appear in, and you get an achievement. S Battleship(Super Battleship), Big Ship, Approximate HP 30000. The biggest of the big guns, and typically the bosses of their stage. You run into only 5 of these in the main story, 1 in mission 12, with another appearing if you take that one down quickly, 1 in the first part of mission 15, and then 2 are the OB targets of the second part of mission 15. Bigger, stronger, but completely immobile, these are the lumbering behemoths of the battlefield. If you want to take them out without them destroying your allies, take out the big gun on the bow first, it looks like a brick sticking out of the front. Without that, theyre helpless against the other ships until theyre close in, and you can take your time annihilating these guys. Do note, even on easy, these guys can take you out with less than a second of fire, so approach with caution. Phantoms, Multi Role, Approximate HP 500. Oh gods, these things suck. Only encountered in the final part of mission 15, these are like Night Ravens, but with advanced weapons and bombs to boot. Level 2 bombs only, luckily, as these things equipped with the Level 3 bombs of the Hellfires and youd never make it through this mission. Luckily, taking them out has no baring on the mission. Unluckily, even if you do focus on them, theyll keep spawning, infinitely as far as I can tell, thus your best bet is just to bash your way forward, take out the two S Battleships that are the mission targets, and hope for the best. Final Boss, Medium Ship, Approximate HP 10000. Not gonna spoil too much here, but as a note, this is one of those times where destroying this guy isnt the issue, theres another target. Unfortunately, to damage the target, the boss has to be disabled. Luckily, every 500 points of damage does that, so taking it out for a bit is easy, but note, it only stays out of the fight for 30 seconds or so, then gets right back up, and youre under a tight timer, so hit this thing hard, then hit the mission target harder. Best weapon to take this guy out is the Gravity Gun, a chargable A ranked weapon that can take it out in one hit at max charge on Easy and Normal, or 2 max charged hits on Hard. _______________________________________________________________________________ 4.) Mission 1, Surprise Attack Part 1 (1/4): Destroy all Enemies, the only problem with this is you need to target the non-OB enemies first, and that means waiting for them to spawn sometimes. My only tip here is to destroy the OB targets down to a few, 7 or 8, and then fly around until you're sure you've taken out all the others Part 2 (2/4): Destroy the enemy Destroyer, now, here comes a fun bit. There is one thing I forgot to mention about the Divider, a bit of a bug with it. Mainly, ships can only be taken down to half health with it, if you fire at their mid section. Luckily, the bug only affects that area, meaning, for Destroyers, you can simply aim at the hammer head part, and take them out in less than 3 seconds of sustained fire on hard mode, and even less on Easy or Normal. So just blast this sucker, he goes down easy. (3/4): Destroy the second enemy Destroyer, see (2/4) (4/4): Destroy all Enemies: Same as (1/4) for this mission, except this does include those Destroyers, so be sure to take them out as soon as they spawn, then take out non-OB targets, and finally the OB targets, easy, and using stagger fire for the planes, you'll rarely get under 5 secs of fire remaining in your Divider _______________________________________________________________________________ 5.) Mission 2, Declaration of War Part 1 (1/9): Rescue Ally Destroyer, when the mission starts, take out all the fighters in front of you by targeting them one by one, until they're all gone, and then the target will shift to some incoming bombers(Cyclopes) Instead of taking them out, though, look up, and you'll see 4 fighters moving towards a Destroyer above you. Easy enough, get in range(Targeting cursor will change from a circle to arrows when in range), and blast them, you can actually do this before the ship even asks for help. (2/9): Destroy the enemy Ship Fleet, after taking them out, rush towards the fleet, and start to take the ships down one by one. Remember to target the hammer head of enemy Destroyers, and the front of Cruisers, and you should be able to take them all out with a single change of the Divider. (3/9): Destroy all enemy Fighters, here's where things get tricky, use your radar map(Press down on the D-pad), to find all the enemy Turrets(The fighters). Some, if you see, are flying towards the planet, moving away from your fleet. Take these out quick, as if they leave the are, you failed this objective. There will be 2 groups of these, 9 fighters each, in three flights of three. Luckily, once you take these out, just go back and take out the rest, and once you kill the last Turret, this will pop up as a completed objective, and then you just have to take out the Cyclopes.\ Part 2 (4/9): Rescue Ally Destroyer, okay, easy enough here, when the mission starts back up, take out the fighters in front of you, they'll be easy to spot with the red triangles pointing to most of them. Once you've taken out the ones you see, turn sharply, and move towards your targeted enemy, this should be a Destroyer, and you should know to target the front section by now. One it's gone, turn a bit towards the way your fleet is facing, and you should spot a group of incoming fighters in an O formation, just out of range. Go towards these, and the instant your in range, take them all down, and you'll get this objective, usually without the Destroyer even asking for help. (5/9): Destroy all Enemies, easy enough here too. With no OB enemies, the whole point here is just kill everything, with the Divider you can do this part in less than 3 mins, and get a good score. Note, this will be your first time running into the ASF Frigates, small ships, bigger than fighters, smaller then Destroyers, and the most annoying enemies in the game from a Divider equipped ship. Why? Because, like all ships, they stop taking damage at half hull strength unless you target them in the right spot. The problem is, unlike all other ships, where just blasting their front will override this, Frigates must be hit in the scaffolding inside the ship, those things in the center of the ship, only visible from the side, meaning, you have to hit them precisely. Luckily, from the side, a single sweep of the Divider takes them out, unluckily, at any other angle, top, bottom, straight on, they're invincible to this, so be aware they're annoying, but no real danger. (6/9): Caliban, the Cruiser your protecting, takes no hull damage, just do this part quick, and you'll get this one. Might want to take out any Cyclopes that spawn before they come in range, but it's pretty easy even without that. Part 3 (Note, this is the first part where the Sub-Objective guide is wrong on an objective) (7/9): Destroy the Destroyer Attacking the Acropolis, easy enough, early on in the mission, a destroyer will jump in by the Acropolis, just take it out, and you get this one. (8/9): Destroy all Missiles, this one gets you an achievement too, and is fairly easy with a Divider, as even on hard, the missiles take less than a second of fire to sink. They spawn first two right where you start, so simply turn around to take them out, then later, a single missile will spawn about the middle of the map in front of the base, in the center of the enemy ships. Next, two spawn to the south of that(On the minimap) along with some fighters. Finally, 3 spawn, one where the last two did, along with more fighters, and two to the north, about the same position the initial two missiles did. Take out the south missile and the fighters first, then take out the two in the north to win the mission. Interesting note, a third missile spawns just at the mission start, and is scripted to slam into a destroyer right in front of you. What's interesting is, it takes it a second to hit, and you can, with the Divider, take it out, and get a kill credit for it(.5 megatons and 500 points, I believe) though the destroyer dies regardless. (9/9): Destroy all Missiles and Enemies, here's one the other guide got wrong. You need to take out everything in this part of the mission to get this objective, and that's no mean feat on Hard, though on Easy it's a cake walk. First, take out the first two missiles, then turn towards the base. You should see a fighter swarm of some 20 enemy fighters in front of you, so take them out. Next, choice, you can either take out the fighters mixed in with the allied fleet, risking some friendly fire, or take out the enemy fleet. I typically choose the fleet, since the allied fighters will deal with the mixed in enemies on their own. The fleet consists of several Frigates, about 8 Destroyers, and 3 Cruisers, which are easy pickings for a Divider, though you may want to restock in the middle, taking out the Destroyer harassing the Acropolis while doing it. Once everything is dealt with, the solo missile should spawn, and you can take it out easy, then time to cool your heels while waiting for the next spawn. Turrets will spawn with the two missiles, and I recommend taking them out first, as they appear bunched together. After that, you wait again, getting a few laughs as the battle chatter makes this sound like a hard fight, and then finally the last 3 missiles spawn. The single missile to the south spawns with fighters, again, take these out first, and finally deal with the last two, and boom, you win. (Interesting note, this is one of 3 missions where its possible to get S rank on Easy mode, which is simply impossible on most missions due to the reduced score. Not important, but interesting, especially if youre having trouble getting S rank and all objectives for this mission on Hard mode) _______________________________________________________________________________ 6.) Mission 3, Black Squadron Part 1 (1/9): Destroy Turrets in a Short Time, I think the limit of this is about the 3 min mark, meaning you do have a bit of leeway here. Best bet, first, take out the 9 OB targets in front of you as you start, easy since theyre all grouped together. Once theyre dealt with, turn and face the space elevator (The big object thats part of the scenery this mission), and look a bit up to find Bird Flight has engaged some Turrets. Press A to cycle through your targets till youve got one of them, then charge them, taking them all out with stagger fire. Quickly shift around to target the enemy Destroyer, and take it out, then the next group of non OB Turrets should pop up, take them out with your Divider, and boom, youve got this one, now just sink all the remaining targets, as an advisory, remember to take out the frigates from the side, not the front. (2/9): The Allied Destroyer Survives, just follow the idea above, and taking out the enemy Destroyer protects this one. Part 2 (3/9): Destroy the Destroyer Attacking the Transports, this is on the map from the start, in the extreme corner of the map. Just take it out in the course of the mission. You should be able to do this without the transports even getting in sight of it. (4/9): Destroy all Enemies, from start, use the Divider to take out the fighters and Destroyer right in front of you, then target the Cyclopes that are coming in from the north, before going after that lone Destroyer way out. At that point more Cyclopes should spawn to the north of the transports, and you can take them out easy. Just keep doing that, and when you hear theyve made it to the half way point, wait for one final group of Cyclopes to spawn, before going south of the transports, where a group of 9 Turrets and 4 Cyclopes spawn. Take them down quickly, and then go north again, for one final group of Cyclopes. (5/9): All 3 Allied Transports Survive, just follow the strategy above, with the Divider this is one of those missions where your primary job is to wait for enemies to spawn. Part 3 (6/9): Destroy Elan Fighters in a short time, these are what spawns after you take out the initial group of Night Ravens, along with the first Ace, who spawns a lot lower, and much closer to the transport group. (7/9): Destroy both Enemy Aces, easy enough, and can be done in seconds with the Divider, but check the next entry for a good strategy for them, though my biggest tip is take out the first ace as soon as he spawns, to prevent your allies from getting the kill. (8/9): Destroy all Enemies, alright, as soon as you start, dive down a bit, and then pull back up, that should have gotten the cursor for the target away from the groups of allies in the distance, and made it much, much easier to see. Now, boost forward until youre about 15 distance away, and then let go, maybe even putting on your brake to give you some more breathing room, as, once you get within 10 distance of the Night Raven squad your pursuing, theyll start to come for you, and scatter at about 5 away. Luckily, your Divider can make short work of them at this range, and take them all out in a few seconds. Now wait for the next spawn right where you are. To the north, away from the transports, a mixed group of Night Ravens and Elans will spawn, but lower down and to the south, closer to the transports, the first of the Aces will spawn as well. Take him out first. Where the Night Ravens Leader can take a licking and keep on ticking, this guy is a wuss, and goes down way too fast, stealing the above sub-objective from you. Once hes dealt with, spin around and take out the enemy squadron, ignoring the ace for now, as your allies can only get him down to about half health before he just starts dodging everything. With that first squad gone, another should spawn to the south of the transports, and you need to haul your butt to them quick. Luckily, theyre pushovers at range, and you probably wont even need a recharged Divider to take them out. Now wait, after a while two more groups spawn, one to the north where the mixed Elan/Night Ravens were, and one to the south, where the other group was. Take both squads out, then wait a moment, as about a min or 2 later, they spawn again. Destroy this final push, then take out the Ace, and youll get this one. (9/9) All Allied Transports Survive: Just follow the above strategy and nothing should get within sight of the transports, let alone take them down. _______________________________________________________________________________ 7.) Mission 4, Reunion Part 1 (1/4): Destroy all Enemies in a Short Time: Heh, this ones fun with the Divider. Use its power to devastate the squadron in front of you. The goal for this is about, Id say 3-4 mins, so youve got plenty of time, and you might even make this one your first time through this mission on Easy, but with the Divider, you should be able to take them out in seconds. A good tactic, if you get mixed in with the enemies, is to boost in any direction away from them for a moment, then quickly turn. Youll have clear shots at the enemy, and sometimes take them all out before you can even be told to push them in range of the allied destroyers(Less than a minute) Part 2 (2/4): Take out both Enemy Aces, same as the last mission, take out the first ace as soon as you start this part, the second is in almost no danger even on Easy from your allies, who can only get him down to about half health. Heck, I even saw him almost take out a destroyer, on his own, making him really your opposite on the enemys side. (3/4): Take out enemies attacking the Allied Destroyer in a short time, now this time goal is a bit harder, probably about 2-3 mins, and these are Night Ravens were talking about you have to take down. Again, best strategy with a Divider/Fire Control combo is boost away, then turn around and blast them. These are the initial fighters that spawn, BTW, though more groups come later. (4/4): Destroy all Enemies, okay, start and take out the enemy ace, then turn your attention to the fighters that were flying with him. Boost away and turn to take them out. Then turn your attention to the Destroyers, as theyre in a position to do some damage. Once youve got them out of the picture, you should only have the ace and the Frigates left, take them out(Remember to come at them from the side), and wait. 4 groups of Night Ravens will now spawn, in flights of 3, so youre playing a waiting game now. If none spawn for about 2 mins, take out the enemy ace to win the mission, or do it if your allies look like theyre getting close to killing him on their own. Not likely, but who knows, it might happen? _______________________________________________________________________________ 8.) Mission 5, Star System Escape Number of Enemies Part 1 (1/3): Destroy all enemies targeting Bird Flight, this mission is all OB targets, so just go about your business. You Divider can take all the fighters and bombers out in a single stroke. When two groups spawn at once near the end of this part(Which is how you know youre getting close), take out the north group first to get this objective, then take out the southern one too, then it's just a matter of keeping destyoing enemies to end this part. Part 2 (2/3): Destroy Hellfires, easy, just walk through the enemies, taking out the Destroyers first, then the fighters. Once youve taken out the initial attack, another group spawns, take them out too to get a third group, this time, take out only the bombers, and leave the fighters to your allies(Bombers have 2 exhaust trails, fighters have 1, as a reminder), and now wait. Eventually, the Hellfires will spawn to the south of your current position, wherever that is, and you can take them down before cleaning up the remaining fighters. Be sure to leave them all, BTW, otherwise your allies might just kill the OB targets before the Hellfires spawn, preventing you from getting either of this parts Sub-Objectives. (3/3): Destroy Hellfires in a short time, meaning take them out in about 1 min, not hard with a Divider, as even on Hard mode, they take only a single volley of its lasery death. _______________________________________________________________________________ Mission 6, Rendevous Planet Part 1 (1/8): Destroy the Invasion Force, this one is a frustrating one at first, as you have no idea what to do. However, once you figure it out, its easy. Just destroy all the non-OB target enemy fighters that spawn. This is actually pretty easy here, as keeping your radar window open(D-pad Down, as a reminder), will tell you when any new groups spawn, and you just check them, if theyre OB targets, just ignore them until youve dealt with what youre dealing with, if theyre not, hit them hard. Once you destroy the last group(The spawn in 3 groups of 9 fighters), youll get this objective. (2/8): Destroy the Hellfire Squadron, these spawn really late in the mission, but due to the number of enemy squads, you typically wont destroy them all before they spawn. However, to be on the safe side, always leave at least 8 OB targets alive at any one time, to ensure that fact. (3/8): Destroy the Hellfire Squadron in a short time, again, about 1 min, and again, the Divider takes these guys to task without any trouble at all. Part 2 (4/8): All Reinforcements Survive, Divider=Dead enemies. No tips here, youve seen all these guys before, and should be able to take them down in no time, heck, I can get through this part in under a minute now, and with practice, you will too. (5/8): Both Escort Destroyers Survive, if you get the above, you get this one. Part 3 (6/8): Rescue Raymond, okay, well start off this one with the simple advice of, take out the small ships around the Battleship first, especially the carrier behind it, then take out the big gun on the front of the Battleship that gets that big flashy intro as this part starts. Luckily, unlike what the other guide says, this is just a normal Battleship, and thus, can be destroyed rather easily. However, since you actually need to wait a while, take out only its big gun, and then fly to the nearby Bird Flight to help them with a Cruiser and its battle group, then wait. Eventually, a huge(50+) fighter swarm spawns on top of Raymond, and you have to take them all down. Luckily, with your Divider, you can do that in less than 20 secs, if they all gather up on him, which they do. Though do be careful, as sustained fire here has a good chance of hitting Raymond, and thus, preventing you from getting this Sub-Objective. Once you get the message pop up that you got this one, take out the Battleship, which should be highly damaged, and you win the mission. (7/8): Ally Cruiser Survived, just follow the strategy above (8/8): All Enemies destroyed, same, just do what I say above, and you get this one. _______________________________________________________________________________ 10.) Mission 7, Operation Nebula Blaze Part 1 (1/5): Destroy all Enemies in a short time, once again, youve fought all these guys before, and no surprises crop up. Heck, they dont even spawn anything else, as long as you take out the Carriers first, and then it just becomes a waiting game, for the Hellfires to spawn, which they do at about 5 mins. (2/5): Destroy the Hellfire Squadron, easy, take them out, same as before, theyll spawn slightly to the north and west on the map from where the enemies start. Still not hard though. (One more thing the other guide got wrong, there is no 3rd objective in this part, instead there are three in the next part.) Part 2 (3/5): Destroy the Enemy Fighters attacking the Carrier in a short time, heres a unique one, when you start, turn on your minimap, and look to the left side of the enemy fleet. See that squadron of fighters coming right at you? Those are the ones youve got to take out. There are about 12-15 of them, and with your Divider, you can take them down with no problem whatsoever, well within the 3 min timer for this objective. (4/5): Destroy all Enemies, okay, this ones fun. Basically, you see that huge line of enemy ships? With 3 Battleships, 5 Cruisers, 9 Destroys, 2 Carriers, and 6 Frigates, as well as all those fighters? Well, your job is to take them down. No strategy to help here, since, as with part one, nothing spawns save for fighters from Carriers, and you can take out both Carriers, and get the above objective, with a single charge of your Divider, so this is fun. Just be sure to start taking them out quickly, when you allies say theyre almost through, as at about 10 mins after you start this part, it auto ends. Still, doable on Easy or Normal without must trouble, though pretty difficult on Hard. (5/5): 17th Independent Fleet Takes no losses, just take out the line of ships from left to right, and you should be fine, as the more distant ships dont fire at your allies often, if at all. Note, that fleet on the left side of the battlefield isn't included, and can take losses, but it does give one a nice feeling to know you saved everyone. _______________________________________________________________________________ 11.) Mission 8, Fortress of ADAN Part 1 (1/7): Destroy the Guilty Rose Squadron, oh boy, these girls. Theyre the aces, and possibly better than the Night Ravens, as they actually can kill you, if all 4 hit you at once. However, with a Divider, theyre easy, as long as you hit them as soon as they spawn, otherwise, just use the boost away and turn trick. Since they tend to bunch up to make a run on you, this can take them out pretty quick with a few staggered shots of the Divider. (2/7): Destroy the Guilty Rose Squadron in a short time, same as with the Hellfires, just laser them to death as they spawn, and youll get this one. Seems to be a bit more lenient than the Hellfire though, giving you about 2-3 mins to kill them to earn this. (3/7): Destroy all enemies, basically, ignore the Mines. Theyre the OB targets of the mission, and thus, when they die, this part is over, but despite what the cutscene and level opening show, they never actually hit your ships. Just ignore them, take out the enemies as the spawn(Killing one group seems to trigger the next, rather than being on a timer), and thus you should never miss this one. (4/7): All Allies Survived, again, just take out the enemies, and ignore the Mines, interestingly the ASF Frigates in this mission can actually destroy the allied destroyers, so take them out as soon as youve cleared away their Fighter escort. Part 2 (5/7): Destroy all Enemies, big fleet battle, but smaller than Mission 7s, so same strategy applies of just going down the line one at a time. However, fighters do spawn here, 4 groups. One behind the line of ships as the mission starts, one behind that at about 2 mins afterward, and then a second to the north of that one a min later, and then a final group, actually under the line of ships, at about a min after that. Still, just destroy all fighters, then take out ships, the destroy fighters that spawn, until mission ends, and you should get this one. (6/7): All Allies Survive, I got this one on my first play thru on easy, as only the Cruiser and Frigates are able to do any real damage, and you can take them out pretty quickly, especially with the Divider. (7/7): Caliban takes no damage, same as above, as long as you dont let the Fighters get close, this one is almost automatic. _______________________________________________________________________________ 12.) Mission 9, Abandoned Planet Part 1 (1/8): Destroy all Enemies in a Short Time, not all that hard, just take them to the mat. This first part is all Fighters and Frigates, the former of which are easy, and the latter being annoying. Still, nothing too bad here, and though the time limit seems to be only 3 to 4 mins here, as opposed to the usual 5, the Divider allows you to take them all down with ease. (2/8): All Allies Survive, I have yet to fail this one, no matter what I did, so, just play the mission normally, and youll win too. Part 2 (3/8): Destroy the Guilty Rose Squadron, spawning at about the 4 min mark after this part starts, theyre still pretty forgettable with the Divider on your side, though first time through, its best to ignore them, only boosting to get away and firing some missiles, as they seem to target only you here. Other than them, this is all still pretty small enemies, biggest is a Cruiser, and with the Divider here, nothing lasts long, again, no spawns as far as I can tell, but a lot of enemies, so it should take a bit of doing to destroy them all, but not difficult. (4/8): Destroy the Guilty Rose Squadron in a short time, again, about a min or 2 after they spawn, but, easy as always. (5/8): All Allies Survive, as above, I have yet to fail this one, as nothing seem to do enough damage to matter, luckily, like yourself, allies heal between parts, so no worries there. Part 3 (6/8): Destroy all Enemies, okay, when this mission starts, take out the Night Ravens ahead with stagger fire, before moving onto the ships behind. Priority target is the Carrier, though even without it fighters will keep spawning every min or so for some reason. Once the carrier is down, take out either the smaller ships, or the Battleship, before going to the tanker to refuel and arm. Once youve dealt with the fleet, take out a few fighters, and then quickly get behind the big umbrella thing in front of you. Behind it are some more enemies, another Carrier, 2 Destroyers, a Cruiser, and a Battleship, luckily, all of them are easily dealt with this time, as they seem to have been hiding for a reason, and thus, dont fire often. Only problem here is the time limit, as there seems to be only an 8 min limit on how long you can fight, meaning speed is important here, but as long as you take out the Carriers, Fighters only number a hundred or so, and you can take them out without too much trouble. (7/8): Destroy Enemies Hiding Behind the Terraforming Unit, as stated above, this is a small battle group, and nothing to worry too much about, just go around the umbrella thing, and take them out. (8/8): All Allies Survive, harder here, as the allied destroyers have a tendency to die about halfway through this part, if you havent taken out the Frigates they pass by, and even then, continuous attacks by the Night Ravens wears their armor down. Luckily, if you take your time, aim carefully, no one should die, and as long as you can get the 6th Sub-Objective for this mission, than this one should come easy. _______________________________________________________________________________ 13.) Mission 10, Traces of Nightmare (1/3): Defeat Enemy Ace in a short time, if youve got the Divider equipped, this can take less than a second, but if you want the third objective, youre going to have to forgo that pleasure, and focus on the other enemies. Luckily, this one is a 5 min or so goal time, and thus, easy to get. (2/3): Defeat Enemy Ace taking no Hull Damage, just dont stand still, and take the Enemy Fighters out from a distance. None of them seem to have weapons with better than C range rating, so your Divider can hit them from far away without them being able to return fire. (3/3): Defeat Many enemies, note, not all enemies, just a lot. In this case, about 54, which is 6 groups of 9, all divided into 3 flights of 3, and then further divided into wreckage by your Divider. Easy thanks to that laser weapon, though, of interest. Night Ravens arent infinite as one might expect here. Only 72 spawn in the level, meaning after taking out the first 54 which give you the objective, you only have to take out 2 more groups to leave only you and the ace. _______________________________________________________________________________ 14.) Mission 11, Flaming Clouds (This is yet another one that the other sub objective guide got wrongthough honestly, Ill be danged if I can figure out the other Sub-Objective, as Ive done everything I can think of, from searching for other hidden enemies in both parts, to making sure the Acropolis takes no hull damage, and still havent gotten it. If you know what the final Sub-Objective is, email me at the contact info below, and Ill give credit where credit is due.) Part 1 (1/4): Destroy the Guilty Rose Squadron, okay, as this one begins, go forward and take out the enemies, focus on those Bombers(Theyre Gargantuans for the first time, Fighters than can actually take more than a single stagger fire of the Divider on Hard mode, luckily, only just so a second hit with stagger fire takes them out) as, with about 25 hits, those guys can take out the Acropolis. Once the first group of Bombers are destroyed, shift focus to the fighters, and you should take them out with no trouble. Another group will spawn behind them, at about 25 distance, so you should boost to get closer to about 20, before just kind of drifting closer. Take these guys out too, and another group of Bombers only this time, will spawn about 15 away from them. Go take these guys out, and a group of Fighters will spawn now, and you should take them out as well. Finally, another group will spawn, this time to the side, and away from you, with the Acropolis just a slight detour out of the way to get to them. Go restock on ammo if you want(Though you should still have about 13 secs of fire left), and then go take out the bombers. Leave the fighters though, as you want to let your squad deal with them, as this is the final group. Instead, once youve dealt with them, go west from the Acropolis, and about a min or 2 later, the Roses spawn, and you, being in this position, can take them out in a few seconds, proving the other guides wrong about the whole take them out quickly thing. Oh, and you get the achievement for killing them finally, if youve done it every other time before this. Part 2 (2/4): Destroy Enemies Launched from the Hidden Carrier, alright, this part of this mission is, to most people, the single most frustrating part of the game (For me, thats actually Score Attack, but well get there later). Anyway, the idea here is that theres a large fleet above you raining death on the Acropolis, and some pretty heavy death at that. Theres a group of Fighters above, Elans, so yeah, they can damage the Acropolis, and while normally their level 1 bombs are no problem, here, theyre a massed group, and go straight for it. With the Divider you can take them out in short order, but then the ships come down and start to blast your home base as well, so it seems like you need to be quick, which you do. The way to get this Sub-Objective is actually to ignore these threats for the first minute or so, and instead turn to the left, and a bit above the Acropolis, and spot a Carrier in the distance, take out it, and the fighters it launches quickly, and then return to the Acropolis to protect her from the enemies. Luckily, with the Divider, this is pretty easy, though on your Easy Mode runthru, you will want to ignore these objectives, and just take out the OB targets before they sink the Acropolis. (3/4): Destroy the Hidden Enemy Carrier, okay, you get this with the above, just take out the hidden enemy Carrier, thats it. Its easily visible from the Acropolis starting position, just look above and to the left, though it wont show up on radar until you take it out, though, if youre having trouble finding it, just look for a group of fighters away from the main fight, those are the ones it launched, and they do appear on the radar. Part ? (4/4): Again, I have no idea what the fourth objective here is, so if youve got some info, please pass it along. _______________________________________________________________________________ 15.) Mission 12, Impending Chaos (I hate to do this two missions in a row, but again, the third Sub-Objective is one Ive yet to find. Taking out both enemy S Battleships in less than a minute has proven ineffective, so I dont think its actually to protect everyone, however, I havent figured out what it might be, so if anyone has any idea, please email me. Again, Ill give you credit.) (1/3): Destroy the Second S Battleship, okay, what you have to do here is ignore the fleet in the front, and take this big boy out as part of your initial attack. Luckily, if youre playing on Easy with the Divider, this guy takes all of 10 seconds of concentrated fire, and once he falls, you can then start to tear apart his fleet. A few seconds later, you will be informed the second one is jumping in, and it takes up a position behind the enemy fleet. Just be the one to deliver the finishing blow to that behemoth, and you win the mission. (2/3): Destroy all Enemies, a bit harder here, but actually, not by much. Big idea here is to kill the first S Battleship, then take out the big gun on the front of the second one, before taking down the Carriers, who seem to spawn more fighters every 2-3 mins. Once theyre gone, its just a task of taking down all the enemies, before you allies take out that second S Battleship. This is only made difficult by the Fighters, all Elans, who have a tendency to fly into the middle of your own battle group, forcing you to take your time aiming from a distance, rather than risking friendly fire by going into the middle of the furball yourself. Luckily, the S Battleship takes your fleet a good 8-10 mins to take out if youve taken out its bow gun only, and thus, you have time to deal with everything, and get the kill on it as well. (3/3): Again, no idea what this one is. If anyone does know, I would love to hear from you. _______________________________________________________________________________ 16.) Mission 13, Beam of Doom (1/3): Destroy all Enemies, ah, a breather after that last furball. No spawning enemies, and no Carriers, so all you have to do is take out all the ships on your radar. Id go right to left this time, however, as the Cruiser right beside the Acropolis is a big target, as shown by the lightning icon on it. Just go through tearing apart the enemy fleet, mostly Destroyers, with a few Frigates, and 2 Cruisers, as well as a bunch of fighters, and youll be fine. Note, once youre down to a few targets, wait a second, and leave them be. Luckily, your allies are pretty slow to kill big ships this mission, as it actually takes a while for the Hellfires to spawn. (2/3): Destroy the Hellfire Squadron, again, just wait, theyll spawn shortly after the Cruiser Pandora(The lightning target above), jumps out, meaning theyll be the second lightning targets this mission. Luckily, as always, they spawn close together, are in slow Bombers, and fly straight for the Acropolis. Well, that last is only lucky cause their slow, and a heavy Delta Saber can get to them boosting from literally the other side of the battlefield before they get in range. As with the Guilty Roses, taking these guys out this time, as well as the two times before, earns an achievement. (3/3): All Allies Survive, hard? No, just like before, this one seems to be pretty automatic, as its hard not to kill all the enemies in the time the mission gives you(Something like 15 mins), so just take them all out, and youll get this one. _______________________________________________________________________________ 17.) Mission 14, Two of Destiny Part 1 (1/3): Destroy the Night Ravens in a short time, hard here, as short time is only 3 mins, not the typical 5, but not that hard with a Divider. They start with 24 in front of you, in 6 groups of 4, and 3 more groups of 4 spawn in as you kill certain numbers of those, making it 36 in total. Anyway, just boost away, turn, and Divide them into dust, theyre fighters, and not strong ones, though your first time through, just use missiles and make sweeping runs through the center of their formation. Part 2 (2/3): Defeat the Enemy Ace in a short time, Divider, meet a single fighter target, player, meet sitting duck. Interestingly, the Aces HP is about the same as a Destroyer herenot tough at all, but just note, you do have to hit him for a second before he dies from the Divider. Still, not that tough, though on first play thru, you might want to get used to some jousting runs at him, as he tends to just fly right at you, firing missiles, and you can do the same. Time limit for this one appears to be a single minute, and thus, you dont have time to mess around. However, Ive beaten the whole mission, including part one, in about 55 secs, so its not that hard with the Divider. (3/3): Defeat the Enemy Ace with no Hull Damage, if you can defeat him in less than a minute, you can get this. _______________________________________________________________________________ 18.) Mission 15, Into the Light (Next to last mission, and once again, I have no idea for one of the Sub-Objectives, if you know what Im missing, do email me, and Ill give you credit for it.) Part 1 (1/6): Destroy the Warship Escort of the S Battleship, okay, only kicker here is, you have to take these ships out BEFORE, you take out the S Battleship to earn this one. Not that hard, but it is annoying when you take it out first, and then find yourself unable to get credit for this one, even though you take out all the other ships. (2/6): Destroy the S Battleship, just one here, and an easy one at that, as it focuses itself forward, and rarely fires at you unless youre right along the hull. Just use your Divider to take it out, watch out for overheats, and do your best. (3/6): Destroy all Enemies, again, no real tips here, since nothing spawns at this part of the mission, excepting those fighters that naturally come out of Carriers, making them priority targets. Once the Carriers are dealt with, move on to the smaller ships, start with the 2 normal Battleships, then shift to the Cruisers beside them, then take out the Destroyers scattered about the battlefield. That should earn you the first Sub-Objective, and then taking out the S Battleship gets the second. After that, just take out al the fighters. Time limit is your only real enemy in getting this one, but at about 15 mins, this isnt a problem for a Divider. Part 2 (4/6): Both Escort Destroyers Survive, an easy task. Your goal is to destroy the two S Battleships in front of you, theyre your only OB targets here, just take out their big guns, and maybe the bridge for good measure, and theyre helpless, and you can start to take out their escort if you want. Do be aware, a few Destroyers like to jump in right on top of the Acropolis, and on the other side of the rear of your fleet. Still, theyre not that strong, and you can take them out too, rather easily. Sad, since this is the big epic fleet battle we want, just needs a bit more enemiesthough technically it has that, read my entry for this missions (6/6) to find out what Im talking about. (5/6): The Allied Fleet Escorting the Vinison Survives, same as above. Part ? (6/6): Okay, Im pretty sure Ive done everything I can think of here, like trying to take out all the Phantoms in part 2 of the mission, which, BTW, is impossible, they spawn infinitely. Interesting note there, these things are annoying multi role planes(Basically able to move like Night Ravens, but they have bombs as well as guns), and thus, can take out your allies if you let them. However, they rarely will if you ignore them, as they spawn not based off a time, but based off how many you destroy, spawning in groups of about 21, rather than the usual 9. Unluckily, they spawn for every 10 of them are destroyed, meaning, the more you destroy, the more there are, and that can lead to problems. After about 10 mins, and over 300 kills this mission, I had so many on the battlefield at once, my Xbox crashed, one of only 3 times thats happened to me, so do make note of that, and for the most part, ignore them. _______________________________________________________________________________ 19) Mission 16, Lonely Blue Planet (1/1): Destroy the Final Boss: As stated in my entry on this enemy in the enemy list, this guy isnt necessary to beat, just disable him and take out the OB Target behind him. However, this is also the only mission where I suggest switching out your Divider for something with more punch, as, at every 500 points of damage, this guy folds up, and becomes invulnerable for 30 secs, which means the Divider, which is a continuous damage weapon, rather than an all at once type, cant kill him in the time provided, somewhere around the 7 min mark. Still, get the Gravity Gun, or the Maelstrom Bomb, and it doesnt take long for this guy to go down. I really suggest the former, as the Gravity Gun is an A ranked damage weapon, that charges, boosting its damage high enough to take the Final Boss down in one hit on anything below Hard, and even then, he wont have much left, and you can take him out with a shot from it once it opens. Then just take out the OB target which ends the mission, and t he game. Aww, cheesy anime ending. _______________________________________________________________________________ 20.) Tips for Extra Missions _______________________________________________________________________________ Time Attack This one is easy enough. It plays a lot like Flaming Clouds, but without the enemy fleet, just a bunch of hidden Carriers, which are constantly sending out Fighters. Note, thats Fighters, not Bombers, so it takes a massed attack of these things to take out the Acropolis. That means just bring some fire power to take out the Carriers, and your best missiles, and you should get by fine. Best tip here is take out the Fighters, and literally beat them back towards their Carrier, and then take it out too. My Setup Nose: Saber LG1 Main 1: Condor 105AM Main 2: Booster(So you can get back to the Acropolis fast) Main 3: Glaive 120MM Cannon Reward for this part Thrush 220AM Weapon Type: Multipurpose Missile Mount Point: Lower Range: B Damage: C Speed: B Weight: Heavy Ammo Capacity: 1000 Sight Homing: Yes Max Lock Ons: 40 Lock On Overlap: Yes _______________________________________________________________________________ Score Attack Argh! This part. This is, to me, the most annoying mission in the game, and one I personally had to attempt 27 times before finally beating it, often getting within a min or 2 of the ending, before the Acropolis blew up, or, more likely, I got deadified by the big ships, something that, oddly, I never remember happening in the main game. Anyway, theres one important tip I can give here that will make your life a thousand times easier. Ignore the ships, merely take out the fighters. Why? Well, because when you destroy a ship, it gets better, up to two times. Whats that mean? Well, see those Destroyers, well, first they get replaced by Cruisers, and then Battleships. Those Frigates? They becomes Destroyers and then Cruisers, and that Cruiser goes from Battleship, to S Battleship. Interestingly, if you destroy the Carriers, the fighters get better too, going from Turrets, to Turret Pluses, then to Elans, then Night Ravens, and finally Phantoms. Obviously then, destroying ships makes your job harder, but destroying Fighters? It just makes more Fighters spawn, infinitely, so you want to bring in missiles, missiles, and more missiles, and take out only the Fighters. Luckily, your fleet can barely be scratched by the initial fleet(The Cruiser is actually out of range to use its attacks, and thus, just sits there unless you get close), and as long as you keep destroying the Fighters, eventually, the mission ends. 20 mins is the limit on this one, BTW. My Setup Nose: Saber LG1 Main 1: Eagle 120AM Main 2: Hawk 75AM Main 3: Thrush 220AM Reward for this part Divider L3GP(A.K.A. The Hammer of God) Weapon Type: Laser Mount Point: Lower Range: A Damage: A Speed: - Weight: Heavy Ammo Capacity: 20 s Sight Homing: No Max Lock Ons: - Lock On Overlap: No _______________________________________________________________________________ Extra Mission 1 This one is hard too, but no where near as hard for me as Score Attack. This is basically a super version of Mission 3, Part 2, namely the whole, protect the transports thing. This time, theyre incoming, not outgoing, and youre escorting them through the heart of an enemy fleet, rather than fending off a few Fighters. Saddest of all though is you dont get to play with that new Divider you just won, as it wont work in any mission but Score Attack and Mission 4. Still, you arent completely helpless, as youve still got some fairly decent weapons to use, and for the most part, all you have to do is keep the Fighters off the transports, only taking out a Destroyer here and there, to keep them alive. Best advice here, multitask. Set your squad to breakaway, and which should sic them on a few Fighters, while you take out the rest with Missile swarm, and take out a few ships as well. Oh, and bring no weapon with low ammo, since, it wont actually be possible to make it to the Acropolis and back again, even with a Booster, without the transports taking massive damage, so youll need lots of shots to make this work. Also, just a you make it to the station, a single Inter Stellar Cruise Missile, the ones from Mission 2, Part 3, jumps in, and you need to take it out fast, as it will take out a transport about 60 sec after entering the fray. Luckily, it is only one, and if you have more than one transport with it, you can still make it, barely. Honestly, this one I won once, but with a single transport surviving at a sliver of health, so all I can really say is good luck. My Setup Nose: Saber LG1 Main 1: Condor 105AM Main 2: White Shark T53R Main 3: Thrust 220AM Reward for this part Mace GP25H Weapon Type: Gun Mount Point: Lower Range: B Damage: D Speed: - Weight: Heavy Ammo Capacity: 3000 Sight Homing: Yes Max Lock Ons: - Lock On Overlap: - _______________________________________________________________________________ Extra Mission 2 One of the more interesting missions as it not only disallows the Divider, but its the only mission where missiles arent allowed either, so you have to rely on your weapons that fire straight forward. Luckily, the Fire Control System is allowed, and you just got the only gun that does good damage, and mounts somewhere other than the nose, so slap on the Mace, the Fire Control System, and youre set, as theres really only Fighters in this mission, the Enemy Ships just kind of sitting there, doing nothing, and the goal is to take them out as fast as possible, not something all that hard to do, and since they dont really attack your allies, you dont have to worry about the Acropolis for once, just keep moving forward, and this mission is a cake walk, especially when compared to the hectic Extra Missions that come before. My Setup Nose: Saber LG1 Main 1: Needle L1GP Main 2: Fire Control System Main 3: Mace GP25H Reward for this part Thor Gun System Weapon Type: Cannon Mount Point: Lower Range: B Damage: B Speed: - Weight: Heavy Ammo Capacity: 100 Sight Homing: Yes Max Lock Ons: - Lock On Overlap: - _______________________________________________________________________________ Extra Mission 3 Say remember that training mission that Rhino Flight was on in the opening cutscene? The one where they all got their butts kicked by Major Raymond? Dont you just wish you could play that mission? Me neither, but someone obviously wanted you to do it, since thats what this one is. Training mission. Oddly, other than Score Attack, this was the only Extra Mission I had to attempt more than once, in fact 4 times, getting blown up the first 3. Well, heres a few tips. First off, bring high ammo weapons, this is one mission where reloading is impossible, and youre gonna want lots of ammo, since youll be facing off against fighters galore here. Once youve picked your weapons, the mission starts. As an advisory, there are 4 mission areas, first is just some Fighters, use your missiles, and take them out of the picture pretty quickly, then find some ringser checkpoints, and fly through them to get to area two, which adds stationary mines to the mix, as well as Fighters, but like Mission 8, they just sit there, so take them out, then take out the Fighters. My best advice is use a cannon to take these things out quick. After that, its the check points again, then some more Fighters and some dummy ships, and these things, despite what others say, do have some fire power, so be aware, they can, and if you ignore them will, shoot you down. Luckily, they are stationary targets, and only a few Anti Ship Missiles and some Cannon fire takes them down, and you move onto the final area of the mission, a fight against Bird Flight and Raymond, and despite his skill in the opening cutscene of the game, hes a push over here, just missile him to death, and with the setup below, you should come out with ammo to spare. My Setup Nose: Saber LG1 Main 1: Condor 105AM Main 2: White Shark T53R Main 3: Glaive 120MM Cannon Reward for this part Ballistia 24 Rocket Weapon Type: Bomb/Rocket Mount Point: Lower Range: C Damage: C Speed: - Weight: Heavy Ammo Capacity: 1200 Sight Homing: No Max Lock Ons: - Lock On Overlap: - _______________________________________________________________________________ Extra Mission 4 And finally, this one. I actually, despite myself, find this one fun. I cant really give you tips here, since, in reality, there are dozens of combinations on how this mission can go. You have a 15 min timer, and at the start, at 5 mins, and 10 mins, Enemies spawn, Ships and Fighters, right in front of you, in one of 6 formations each time they spawn. Well, because of that, this is one of those fun missions, as nothing spawns outside of those 3 times, that you just have to go to town, and this is, as stated above, another mission where you can use the Divider, so it is to laugh, as you plow through the enemy fleet, maybe even having a min or 2 where nothing is threatening your fleet, before it spawns in again. BTW, here the Carriers are low priority targets, as the whole point of this mission is the high score, and thus, you may want to leave them for last, and then take out the Fighters they spawn. Other than take, slaughter them all with your own beam oh doom, and have fun.
