[1200] ______________________________________________________________________________ 1] INTRODUCTION [0100] ______________________________________________________________________________ FAQ/Walkthrough #33 Kameo: Elements of Power was actually the first official game to be released for the Xbox 360. An interesting note: the game was actually supposed to come out for the Gamecube when the system was first released. Once Rare (the game's developer, duh) was purchased by Microsoft, Kameo was then tweaked for the Xbox. Come several delays later, Kameo would finally be released on the 360. For me, it's kinda one of those games where it caught my interest for a while, but not enough for me to actually buy and play the game. I kept track when Kameo was being developed, but ignored it when it was finally released. I decided to pick it up recently at my local EB Games for a measly $10. I later found out that this was an incredibly good game, because I fell in love with the game. It is basically elves versus trolls in the game, and you are stuck right in the middle of this raging war. As Kameo, you have the ability to change into various monsters in order to fight baddies and solve puzzles. Platforming at its finest, I tell ya. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VERSION HISTORY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Version 1.0 (08/01/08) - FAQ/Walkthrough complete and submitted. ______________________________________________________________________________ 2] CONTROLS [0200] ______________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: For in-depth info on the controls for each Elemental Warrior, check out Section 5. .-----------------------------.----------------------------------------------. | D-Pad | N/A | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Left Analog Stick | Move | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Right Analog Stick | Move Camera | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Start | Pause, Open Wotnot Book | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Back | Pause, Close Wotnot Book | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | X Button | Morph Into Selected Elemental Warrior | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Y Button | Morph Into Selected Elemental Warrior | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | A Button | Talk, Interact, Morph Into Kameo | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | B Button | Morph Into Selected Elemental Warrior | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Right Trigger | Use Ability | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Left Trigger | Use Ability | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Right Bumper | N/A | |-----------------------------|----------------------------------------------| | Left Bumper | N/A | '-----------------------------'----------------------------------------------' - ADVANCED CONTROLS (KAMEO) - * Press the Left Trigger for Kameo to hover in the air. It is Kameo's only form of attack. ______________________________________________________________________________ 3] THE BASICS [0300] ______________________________________________________________________________ ============================================================================== SCORING SYSTEM ============================================================================== Your score will be tallied in each level. In order to earn points, you must attack and kill enemies. However, taking damage will decrease your points by one. You will be ranked at the end of each level. In order to achieve an A- Ranking (the highest rank), you must pull off various bonuses. You can earn unlockable content by getting a high enough score on the levels. For more info on unlockables, go to Section 9. There are several bonuses that will help increase your score and help you earn an A-Ranking throughout the game's levels: Brutal Bonus - To pull off a Brutal Bonus, you have to execute your enemies rather... brutally. Use the environment to your advantage: spike traps, fire, even knocking them off of a cliff or into a pit should suffice. Carnage Bonus - Simply put, killing an enemy will give you a Carnage Bonus. Easy enough, right? Frenzy Bonus - Killing multiple enemies in very quick succession will give you a Frenzy Bonus. For example, barreling through hordes of enemies as Major Ruin or impaling up to three monsters on Chilla's back. ============================================================================== FOCUS MODE ============================================================================== Also known as "Warrior's Focus" Focus Mode is activated when the bar near the top of the screen (right under the score) is completely filled. In order to fill the meter, you must attack enemies quickly in a short amount of time. An easy way to do this is to use Pummel Weed's Jab attack in quick succession. The meter will first fill up blue, then starts filling up white. Once it's filled up completely white, Focus Mode will begin. When you are in Focus Mode, everything around you slows down except you. You will move at normal speed while everything (including enemies) will slow down, giving you a major advantage when in fights. The only exception to Focus Mode is a rare enemy called Doomed Trolls. They are immune to Focus Mode. ______________________________________________________________________________ 4] WALKTHROUGH [0400] ______________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: This walkthrough is based on the Normal difficulty. ============================================================================== 4.01] THORN'S CASTLE [0401] ============================================================================== You're thrown right into the action as Kameo (in her Chilla form) escapes from the troll army. As Chilla latches onto the castle wall, move up and leap with the Right Trigger to avoid the cannon fire from the trolls. Climb up the wall and shimmy to the left to reach a balcony. After the scene, Kameo will change into Pummel Weed. Pull off some quick jabs by alternating between the Left and Right Trigger to kill the Trolls. A third Troll will appear out of a door after you get rid of the others. Kameo will morph into her third form: Major Ruin. Use Rush (Right Trigger) to barrel through the Troll brigade like a giant bowling ball. If they latch onto you, use Cyclone to twirl them off. Of course, you can always change to your other forms to fight with. Once all the Trolls are dead, break open the crates. If you want, you can kill the Dragons flying overhead (with Chilla's Ice Spike attack). In order to reach the door on the ledge, either roll up the ramp with Major Ruin or climb the stairs to the left. Once you're through the door, roll through the tunnel and read the scrolls along the way (they always give you helpful info). Use Major Ruin's Rush attack to blast through the gate. Treat this room as a giant half-pipe as you boost up the side and into the opening. You will soon fall into a large room. The room is divided into sectors by large iron fences. You will have to use Major Ruin to boost over the fences. Roll up the ramp and over the first fence, then defeat the beetles. Reading the scroll will give you some information on the Spirit Bar. Using abilities will drain it, but it'll refill if you stand still for several seconds. Boost over the second fence and proceed forward. A Shell Troll will hide under one of the metal shells on the floor. The shells have retractable spikes, so don't get too close. In order to defeat the cowardly monster, morph into Pummel Weed and use his Creeper ability. When used, you'll burrow under the ground. Press the Right Trigger to pull off a nasty uppercut, flipping over the shell and nullifying the Shell Troll's hideout. After killing the Troll, four more will drop down from a ramp. Dispose of them however you wish, but try and get Brutal Bonuses by knocking them into spike traps. Roll over the ramp with Major Ruin and take out the Trolls and Fire Troll. The latter may cause you problems with its annoying fireball attack. Try flinging them into the nearby pit with Chilla or Major Ruin. Use Rush to reach the upper floor and roll across the ramp. Kill the beetle, then turn towards the second ramp. Use Rush to boost over the ramp and into the ventilation pipe. Once you're in, roll through to the other end. Turn into Chilla and toss the Fire Troll off the edge, then use Major Ruin to enter the opening. Fall out on the other side to reach the castle wall. Go forward to trigger the entrance of a Roll Troll. Read the scroll to your right for some info on these strange creatures. Rush into the troll to make it retract into its metal shell. Now that it’s in its ball form, you can rush into it to push it around. Knock the Roll Troll right off the edge of the castle or into the lava pit in the middle of the area. A Cannon Troll will shoot out three more Roll Trolls. Dispose of them the same way as the first for a scene. A gem on the nearby gate will turn red. Morph into Chilla and hurl an ice spike at the gem. The gate opens slightly, but enough for Pummel Weed to burrow under. Run across the bridge as it slowly falls apart. Defeat the Troll on the other end and open the second gate using the same methods as before. As you continue up the tower, defeat the enemies that burst through the windows. Chucking them back out of the windows is your best bet. Open the gate and proceed onto the next bridge. Several Trolls beckon you from the other side, but get blown apart by cannon fire as you walk forward. Use Major Ruin's Rush to get across the gap. Enter the fiery room and look towards the ceiling. Switch to Chilla and throw ice spikes as the chandeliers hanging above. You will be able to kill a Troll from a distance using this method. Boost over the hole with Major Ruin and morph into Chilla. Destroy the crates here (except the extra-sturdy metal one) and toss the cowardly Troll nearby to his doom. As you walk up the ramp, bombs will roll down towards you. Avoid them by hugging the left side of the slope. Target the Cannon Troll causing this mayhem with an ice spike and take it out. Open the gate ahead with Chilla and enter. A horde of Trolls will descend from a tower. In order to get to the tower, you must defeat all enemies. Remember that Chilla can put up to three Trolls on his spiny back. Use him to kill 'em all (including a Fire Troll), which causes three Shell Trolls to drop in. Use Pummel Weed's Creeper attack to flip over the shells that they hide under. After that, it's easy pickin'. Approach the tower once the coast is clear and kill the Cannon Troll at the top. After, about two dozen Trolls will drop down from above (about three or four at a time). To avoid getting overwhelmed, switch to Pummel Weed and pull off quick jabs. You'll most likely enter Focus Mode, where you will be able to continue the chain and make short work of the group. Okay, the enemies are done for. Here's what we have to work with: a ramp leading to the tower and a climbable wall. In order to pull off this wacky stunt, you must use Major Ruins to roll across the ramp, then transform into Chilla so you can latch onto the wall. Climb up to the tower and look out the opening. Another gap, another ice wall. Do the Major Ruin/Chilla switcheroo again to reach the wall, then climb up. Defeat the two Trolls up here and look up the next wall. Toss an ice spike at the patrolling beetle and climb up to the top. Drop onto the ledge and read the nearby scroll. It tells you how to fight the Armored Troll up ahead. Walk towards the monster to catch its attention. Ignore the scroll's recommendation on how to fight this thing and look at the ceiling. Use one of Chilla's ice spikes to knock down the chandelier that just so happens to be right above the Armored Troll. The chandelier will fall on top of the Troll, producing an instant kill. Excellent. Break the crates and kill the Trolls hiding inside, then enter the large double door for a cutscene. ============================================================================== 4.02] ENCHANTED KINGDOM [0402] ============================================================================== Kameo wakes up in The Mystic's house and they have a little chit-chat. In short, he tells Kameo to retrieve the Wotnot Book. Before following the Warrior Trainer outside, open the dressers inside the hut for some Runes (the game's currency). Exit the house. You can toggle the map on and off by clicking the Left Analog Stick, but leave it on for now. Approach the green blip on the map for a scene. Go inside the nearby house and speak to the Warrior Trainer. Accept his offer and follow his list of simple commands. The test will conclude when the Warrior Trainer offers you an Elixir of Life. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #1 It is given to you by the Warrior Trainer after completing his test. Elixirs of Life increase your health meter by a small amount. Nevertheless, they are very important tools in your journey. The Wotnot Book will agree to travel with you. Open the book and flip through its pages for a sneak peek, then close it and exit the house. Return back to The Mystic's house to learn about Shadow Trolls and Elemental Sprites. The Mystic uses his eyeball (Yeah... I'm serious) to learn of the first Shadow Troll's location. Exit the house to find that the Shadow Troll is hiding in a well. Approach the well and jump inside. ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ The Shadow Realm? Really? Yeesh, sounds something right out of a lame Yu-Gi-Oh episode. In order to defeat the Shadow Troll, you must harvest and use light energy against it. Avoid the Shadow Troll until a Lost Soul appears from the ground. They look like giant skeletons; kinda hard to miss. Execute a Flip Kick to destroy the Lost Soul and harness its energy. Use the Left or Right Trigger while aiming at the Shadow Troll to fire the light energy, eliminating the menace. Walk up to the rather cute Elemental Sprite and absorb it. Once you do, it'll change into Pummel Weed. Open the Wotnot Book and click on Pummel Weed's icon. You can assign him to a selected button. Hit the designated button to morph into him. Next, press A on the icon to view a list of Pummel Weed's techniques. You can acquire new techniques by feeding your Elemental Warriors Elemental Fruit. Since we currently have one fruit, learn Uprooter. ----------------- Enchanted Kingdom ----------------- Return to The Mystic's house and ask him for info on the second Shadow Troll. He also gives Kameo the location of one of her relatives. He's found in the Forgotten Forest. The Warrior Trainer helps Kameo by offering to take her to the Badlands, but we have some unfinished business to take care of now. --- If you are willing to take some time to find Elemental Fruit and other goodies, then stick to the walkthrough. There are plenty of items to find here in the Enchanted Kingdom. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #1 Walk to the Warrior Trainer's house and head to the right side; near the well. A dancing flower with big lips lies back here. Shake the flower to make the Elemental Fruit fall out. Go south towards the town square, where you'll see the Warrior Trainer enter a building. Pass by and head to the southeast end of the village. Enter the house right behind the large unicorn statue. This is Typhoon's house. Talk to Typhoon inside (the blue creature) and challenge him to a battle of wits. All you have to do is answer a series of questions correctly. 1. Q: How many Shadow Trolls were recently released? A: 7 2. Q: How many runes for a tune in the Forest Glade? A: 5 3. Q: How many torches power the Shrine of Light? A: 8 4. Q: How many Snow Top children go to school? A: 5 5. Q: How many Trolls are held prisoner in the dungeon? A: 4 6. Q: How many children does Bluster have? A: 0 After you totally blow Typhoon's mind with your knowledge for seemingly random facts, he will award you with an Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #2 Beating Typhoon in a battle of wits will earn you an Elemental Fruit. Go up the ramp to the left of Typhoon's house to reach a pool of water holding Lenya's spirit. Examine the sign with the question mark on it. "#1 - To find my secret hidden sign, investigate an old man's shrine..." Walk down the path back to Typhoon's house. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #3 Walk onto the beach near Typhoon's house to find three shells. Notice how they are rustling around? Switch to Pummel Weed and use Creeper, then Uprooter on the shell in the middle. It'll flip over, revealing your third Elemental Fruit. A fourth shell is farther down the beach. Flip it over with Pummel Weed to find the green Crystal Eye: the Eye of Restoration. Crystal Eyes increase an ability at the cost of another. In the case of this one, your health will recover over time while your spirit will take longer to recover. Your choice. Next up, enter the shop to view their available items. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #4 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #5 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #2 Purchase an Elixir of Life from the shop for 20 Runes. You most likely don't have enough Runes for all three items, so keep them in mind when you do earn enough cash. Approach the gate to the left of the shop and use Pummel Weed's Creeper to travel under. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #6 After travelling under the gate near the shop, shake the dancing plant for the Elemental Fruit. Enter the door past the plant to enter the Chamber of the Living Portraits. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #3 Walk past the giant Thorn statue to find an Elixir of Life in front of the magic mirror. Exit the chamber and go down the ramp past the Dungeon of Eternal Life entrance. Head up the ramp. Once at the top, walk onto the grass and hug the edge to reach the second secret sign in the corner. "#2 - Gazing on the balcony will guide you to sign number three..." Balcony... hm. Use Pummel Weed to go through the exit and walk onto the bridge. Once at the fork, climb the large set of stairs to reach a -- yes, you guessed it -- a balcony. Walk to the back end to find the third sign. "#3 - You're doing well; the next sign lies near one who'll sell you some supplies." Return to the shop and you'll find the sign on the back end of the building. "#4 - the home of one who sees in time is near my fifth and final sign..." Return to The Mystic's house to find the fifth secret sign on the left. "#5 - Your brain's as sharp as any sword - take this fruit as your reward!" - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #7 A dancing plant will appear after completing the secret sign quest. Shake it to receive another fruit. --- Okay, we are officially done with the item hunting (for now). Return to the Dungeon of Eternal Life's entrance and proceed inside. The Warrior Trainer creates a warp leading to the Badlands. Before stepping inside, take some time to explore the other room of the dungeon. You can find some Runes inside the crates and even read about some of the prisoners here! When you are ready to move on, step into the teleporter. ============================================================================== 4.03] BADLANDS [0403] ============================================================================== A knight will stop Kameo and after talking, will lend her one of his horses. The Badlands is inhabited by tons of Trolls, and you'll be given a good perspective during the cutscene. While it may seem perilous, your horse has the ability to plow through the Trolls like stuffed animals. Press the Left or Right Trigger to execute a charge attack. After bulldozing through the first army of Trolls, some soldier will help you out. Ignore the Trolls from now on and proceed to the green spot on the map: the entrance to the Forgotten Forest. ============================================================================== 4.04] FORGOTTEN FOREST GLADE [0404] ============================================================================== We can go after the Shadow Troll right away, but we can also hunt this new area for more Elemental Fruits and such. It's up to you. --- - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #8 Shake the plant near the entrance of the Forgotten Forest for the fruit. Go up the path to reach a hut on the left. Go inside to find a creature named Dil being attacked by two Trolls. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #9 Use Pummel Weed to kill the two Trolls. As a reward, Dil will give you a large Elemental Fruit, which is worth three in total. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #10 Use Pummel Weed to kill the two Trolls. As a reward, Dil will give you a large Elemental Fruit, which is worth three in total. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #11 Use Pummel Weed to kill the two Trolls. As a reward, Dil will give you a large Elemental Fruit, which is worth three in total. Exit the hut after claiming your prize. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #12 Walk forwards past Dil's house to find a big stone tablet on the ground. Surrounding the tablet are five plants. Uproot each one; you will find an Elemental Fruit under one of them. Head to the southeast end of the Forgotten Forest Glade, where you'll find a plant creature named Creeper. He needs your help (as evidenced by the "?!?" above his head), but we cannot help him at the moment. Instead, walk behind his house. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #13 Shake the dancing plant behind Creeper's house for the Elemental Fruit. Go across the road from the house to find a secret sign. "#1 - More signs are hidden near, now think - where might the locals go to drink?" We've pretty much combed out the entire southern end of the glade, so now go north. Head down the hill to find a few more buildings. One of them just happens to be a shop. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #14 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #15 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #4 Purchase an Elixir of Life from the shop for 20 Runes. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #16 Walk towards the building to the left of the shop. Destroy the two crates on the side to reveal a hidden plant. Shake it to get its fruit. Go across the bridge and into the building. This is the Scholars' Dwelling. You can find some Runes inside, but nothing else of importance. Exit and follow the green-lit tunnel to reach a pub. Read the sign next to the jukebox. "#2 - The stream that is the water's source will lead you to sign three, of course." All we can do right now is find the third secret sign. Head back to the southern end of the Forgotten Forest Glade and walk towards the stream. Hop onto the tree stump on the left to find the sign right there in plain sight. "#3 - The branch that leads to Mushroom Cave will house my sign inside - be brave!" --- Return to Creeper's house and approach the tunnel. Vines will block the entrance, so use Pummel Weed's Creeper to get underneath. Once on the other side, follow the path and kill the beetles in your way. Burrow under the next set of vines to enter a circular room filled with beetles. A plant in the center will spit out a beetle every second, so make sure to eliminate it first to avoid fighting an endless beetle army. Clean up the scraps afterwards and go underneath the next set of vines. Defeat the beetles and you will find another secret sign just before the entrance to the Mushroom Cavern. "#4 - A home came under Troll attack - you'll find my next sign 'round the back." After reading the sign, enter Mushroom Cavern. --------------- Mushroom Cavern --------------- Walk down the spiral ramp to encounter a plant creature and a green shell. After speaking with him, use Creeper and Shredder to pick up the shell. Since it's explosive, place it near the wooden fence and wait until it explodes -- taking the obstacle with it. Alternatively, you can use Uprooter to knock the explosive shell near the fence. Enter the well to reach the Shadow Realm. ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ The second Shadow Troll is a bit tougher to defeat, but nothin' crazy. Two Lost Souls will appear at a time, so flip kick one to steal their light energy. Use the Right Trigger to shoot the Shadow Troll with the light energy. He will move around, so make sure you find him before you lose your energy. He'll also shoot bats out of his mouth, which can damage you. Two hits are all that's needed to put the Shadow Troll away. Once the Shadow Troll is defeated, absorb the Elemental Sprite to acquire Rubble. Set him to a button and use some Elemental Fruits on him right away. --------------- Mushroom Cavern --------------- Some mosquitoes have appeared in the cavern, and we must make it our first priority to make their lives a living hell. Talk to the plant man and accept his offer. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #17 Use Rubble's Chip technique to destroy all four mosquito nests. Three are in the main cave and the fourth is in the room with the well. After every nest AND mosquito are destroyed, he will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #18 Use Rubble's Chip technique to destroy all four mosquito nests. Three are in the main cave and the fourth is in the room with the well. After every nest AND mosquito are destroyed, he will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #19 Use Rubble's Chip technique to destroy all four mosquito nests. Three are in the main cave and the fourth is in the room with the well. After every nest AND mosquito are destroyed, he will give you a large Elemental Fruit. Enter the cavern behind the well to find two stone statues and two cages. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #20 Use Chip to launch a stone into the mouth of the statue on the left. The cage will rise afterwards, giving you access to the Elemental Fruit. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #5 Use Chip to launch a stone into the mouth of the statue on the right. The cage will rise afterwards, giving you access to the Elixir of Life. Exit the Mushroom Cavern. ---------------------- Forgotten Forest Glade ---------------------- Drop down from the ledges towards the four trees. Ya know, the ones with eyes and a mouth. As you plummet, repeatedly press the Right Trigger to cushion your fall. Head over to Dil's house to find the final secret sign to the left of the entrance. "#5 - You've solved the clues and found my sign... The fruit is yours that once was mine!" - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #21 A dancing plant will appear after completing the secret sign quest. Shake it to receive another fruit. Return to the four trees and stand on the stone platform. Use Rubble's Blast technique to launch rocks at all four trees. Hitting them all at the same time will give you access to the cave across the stream. Swim across and enter the next area. ---------------- Forgotten Forest ---------------- After watching your jerk of a sister take Halis away, speak with the plant man up ahead. Break open the chest on the right for some Runes and follow the main path. After a few feet, vines will trap you inside a grove. A Shield Troll lies up ahead. No matter how hard you try, you won't be able to get around him. Since his rock-hard shield deflects any attack you send at him, you'll have to try a new strategy. Use Chip to launch some rocks behind the Troll. After a few shots, a rock will hit the Shield Troll and he'll spin around. Now that his back is exposed, eliminate him. Free the plant kid by shooting a rock into the statue's mouth. He'll make a shell appear. Morph into Pummel Weed and use Shredder to dig under the shell. Now move it right into the barricade, blowing it to smithereens. Follow the trail to encounter two Shell Trolls. Dispose of them like normal. The barricade nearby is still in tact and there are no explosive shells around, so follow the southern road to a field. A Troll appears from the tall grass, so kill him. Next up, a Troll Archer will pop out from the grass. He likes to run away a lot in order to keep his distance, so turn into Rubble and use Sling to attack him. Next up, kill the Shield Troll and free the plant kid. His melodic voice somehow summons an explosive shell back in the previous area. Return there to find a Troll and a soldier duking it out. Help out the good guy and then wipe out the beetle generator. Use the explosive shell to destroy the wooden fence and proceed forward. Kill the three Shield Trolls blocking the road with Rubble, then head towards the green blip. It won't take long before you are stopped yet again by three Shield Trolls. However, these ones will move around as they try and pursue you. As Rubble, keep your distance as you use Chip to launch rocks over their head. As they hit the Trolls' backs, switch to Pummel Weed and finish them off. Some Trolls are hiding in the crates surrounding the area, so take them out as well. Continue along, defeating some more Trolls, until you reach your destination. Aside from the Shield Troll that always gets in your way here, three Trolls and a Troll Archer plan on putting you to rest. Use the spiked vines hanging from the canopy to score some Brutal Bonuses as you clear the area. After rescuing the plant child, another explosive shell will appear in the previous area. Return there and kill the three Shell Trolls. Once they are caput, a large group of Trolls will rush in out of nowhere. Use Pummel Weed's jabs along with the spiky vines to make short work of the horde. A Doomed Troll will also appear. They're short, blue, lanky things and are immune to Focus Mode. Make sure to take them out first. Go through the tree base to encounter a Giant Troll. And boy, are these things huge! They are surprisingly weak though, and the best way to take it out is by using Rubble's Blast ability. After you take down the Giant Troll and his minions, use Pummel Weed to destroy the barricade with the explosive shell. Go down the path to reach a stone bridge. Three Troll Archers are hiding underneath, so knock them into the spike vines or the spike traps. Once they are taken care of, the ramp leading up to the bridge opens up. Ascend up to the bridge and take care of all the enemies here: Shield Trolls, Troll Archers, you name it. I actually got two of the Trolls here to fight each other. Funny stuff if you ask me. After two waves of Shield Trolls have been eliminated, two final Trolls hop out from the ground. Use the spiked vine against them and walk up the stairs and into the Forest Temple. ============================================================================== 4.05] FOREST TEMPLE [0405] ============================================================================== Destroying the crates and pumpkins at the entrance will net you some Runes and Hearts. Use Pummel Weed to cross under the first set of vines and switch to Rubble. There is a mosquito nest nearby, so destroy it with his Chip ability. Use Pummel Weed to get under the second set of vines into a large room. The inhabitants wandering around are all that's left of the rescue squad. Needless to say, there weren't successful in rescuing Halis. First off, search the area for boxes and treasure chests to obtain some Runes. Next, climb up the stairs to the left of the entrance. Some vines will block your entrance into the tiny room up ahead, so transform into Pummel Weed to get by. Switch back to Rubble as you enter the room and destroy the two mosquito nests. Stand on the circular platform in the middle of the room. The stone statue will open its mouth... you know what's coming up next. Shoot a rock in its mouth to make the statue stand up straight. Doing so will cause a platform in the previous room to rise up. Backtrack to the "hub room" and step onto the platform. Notice that it's right in front of another statue? Once you step onto the platform as Rubble, it will rise up. Now that you're face to face with the stone statue, use Chip to shoot a rock into its mouth. A portion of a staircase will appear at the north end of the hub room. Repeat the same process with the second statue in the room to fully complete the staircase. Watch the scene and prepare for your first boss fight! =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- BOSS: Old Mawood =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- Despite being nothing but a mere tree, Old Mawood is quick on his feet (err, roots) and can be a threat. His primary attack is easy to avoid. Old Mawood will slam his fists into the ground, and a line of roots will radiate out towards you. All you need to do is dodge to the side; even Pummel Weed can walk away from the attack. Speaking of Pummel Weed, make sure to use him during the first portion of the boss battle. Explosive shells will appear periodically around the perimeter of the arena. When you see one, use Creeper, then Shredder. Now that you're underneath the shell, spin over to Old Mawood's base and use Uprooter. If used correctly, Pummel Weed should uppercut the explosive shell right into the tree's face -- just as it explodes. Once that happens, Old Mawood will shake and several Trolls will fall out of him. While you deal with the minor enemies, the boss will repeatedly laugh. Instead of focusing on the Trolls, switch to Rubble and aim at Old Mawood. When he starts maniacally laughing, use Chip to knock a rock into his mouth. He will cough and lose a small amount of his health. After knocking one or two rocks into his mouth, the first part of the battle will repeat. You'll recognize this when Old Mawood starts using his root attack. Morph back into Pummel Weed and repeat the process of knocking an explosive shell into him. Old Mawood's mouth needs to be clogged with five rocks in order for you to win. In order to hit him five times, you'll have to repeat the first part of the battle a few times. There are boxes around the edge of the arena that hold Hearts. You should have little trouble during this fight. =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- Old Mawood withers away as Halis is freed. ---------------------- Forgotten Forest Glade ---------------------- After the cutscene, Halis will give Kameo an Elemental Sprite: Ash. The Mystic also gives Kameo a new mission. The Warp Gate behind you leads back to the Enchanted Kingdom. Before heading to our new destination, we can use Ash to get some items. --- Return to the shop and pick up any new items that you haven't already, especially the money pouch. After, enter the house to the left of the shop. The owner of the house is afraid of the horde of beetles here. Three plants continuously spawn them, and they cannot be destroyed by conventional attacks. Instead, turn into Ash and use Inferno or Wildfire. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #22 Exterminating all the beetles in Nettle's house as Ash will earn you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #23 Exterminating all the beetles in Nettle's house as Ash will earn you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #24 Exterminating all the beetles in Nettle's house as Ash will earn you a large Elemental Fruit. Go back to the Warp Gate and step in to return to the Enchanted Kingdom. ----------------- Enchanted Kingdom ----------------- You will appear back near The Mystic's hut. Pick up anything at the shop if you haven't already (Elemental Fruits or the Elixir of Life) and follow the map to the green blip. You'll be back at the Dungeon of Eternal Life. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #25 Morph into Ash and enter the second chamber. See the two dragon heads on both sides of the locked gate? Use Wildfire to light them both. Doing so will not only open the gate, but the soldier nearby will give you a large Elemental Fruit for your good deed. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #26 Morph into Ash and enter the second chamber. See the two dragon heads on both sides of the locked gate? Use Wildfire to light them both. Doing so will not only open the gate, but the soldier nearby will give you a large Elemental Fruit for your good deed. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #27 Morph into Ash and enter the second chamber. See the two dragon heads on both sides of the locked gate? Use Wildfire to light them both. Doing so will not only open the gate, but the soldier nearby will give you a large Elemental Fruit for your good deed. Enter the newly-opened room to find another locked gate and another pair of dragon heads. Light them to open this gate as well, where you'll find Ash's Alternate Skin among some crates. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #28 Look at the ceiling of the room where you found Ash's Alternate Skin. You'll spot some cauldrons at the top. Use Ash's Wildfire to target them. They will turn over and spill once hit. Some drop molten-hot oil, but one drops an Elemental Fruit instead. Return to the main chamber in the dungeon (the one with the campfire in the middle) and enter the side room. Again, use Ash to light the two dragon heads and open the gate. Collect the Eye of Spirit inside and leave the dungeon. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #29 Walk to the entrance to the Chamber of Living Portrait and look in the grass for some plants with red bulbs. Pull the four plants out of the ground; one will reveal an Elemental Fruit as it flies up in the air. --- Okey dokey, we are done here. Head back to the Dungeon of Eternal Life and step in the Warp Gate to be transported to the Badlands. ============================================================================== 4.06] BADLANDS [0406] ============================================================================== An elemental shrine is under attack by some tanks. Mount the horse and ride down towards the red marker on the map. Two tanks will be circling the shrine. In order to destroy them, transform into Pummel Weed and use Shredder on the explosive shells at the base of the shrine. Use Uprooter when you get close to a tank to damage it. Three shots are all that's needed to destroy a tank. Take down both tanks before they can blow up the Elemental Shrine (pay attention to the shrine's health bar on the side of the screen) to win. The soldiers will take the rest from there. Return to your horse and start exploring the Badlands. If a Troll stole your horse (they can do that), either try hunting the thief down or travel on foot. --- Ride your horse to the northeast section of the Badlands. It's a small open area (just southeast of the green blip on your map). You will find two abandoned huts here. Ignore the southern one and go inside the other. Destroy the crates in the hut to gain access to a tunnel. Head inside and speak with the Warrior Trainer. Agree to play Beetle Brawl (it only costs 10 Runes, and there are plenty of Runes to find in the chests and crates here). You have one minute to kill 120 beetles. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #30 Win at Beetle Brawl to get an Elemental Fruit. The best method is to switch to Rubble and repeatedly use Blast. The initial hit, followed by the rocks rolling back to you, will wipe out many beetles in one shot. Not too hard if you use this strategy. Exit the hut and get back on your trusty steed. Return to the narrow road leading back to the Forgotten Forest. From the opening, go south until you reach a cliffside. Follow the string of pillars on the edge of the cliff to reach a hut. Go inside and enter the tunnel. Talk to the Warrior Trainer and pay him 10 Runes to play Pumpkin Panic. You have one minute to destroy 75 pumpkins. Think you got what it takes? - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #31 Win at Pumpkin Panic to get an Elemental Fruit. The best method is to switch to Rubble and repeatedly use Blast -- just like Beetle Brawl. The only real difference in this game is that the pumpkins don't move. Even easier than the last game if you ask me. Ride to the west side of the Badlands. You should encounter three more huts in the snowy area right before the path leading to the Snow Village (which you cannot even reach anyways). Enter the hut on the left. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #32 Destroy a stack of boxes to find a dancing plant behind them. Shake it for an Elemental Fruit. Exit the hut and enter the one on the right. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #33 There are four ice blocks in the corner of the hut. Switch to Ash and melt them with Inferno to find an Elemental Fruit inside one of them. Flip Kick the tables and gate apart and enter the tunnel. You will find another Warrior Trainer inside. Agree to play Troll Trouble for 10 Runes. You have a minute and a half to kill 40 Trolls. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #34 Win at Troll Trouble to get an Elemental Fruit. The best method is to switch to Rubble and repeatedly use Blast. Sound familiar? Again, this minigame is incredibly simple. Trolls may have high health, but Blast delivers one-hit kills to the Trolls. You have plenty of time to win. You cannot play the second game yet, so exit the hut. The third hut is farther away from the other two, but still in plain sight. Head north to reach it. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #6 The Elixir of Life is in the back of the hut, behind a downed table. Break the table apart and drink it. Return to the previous house and proceed up the ramp to the right of it. It's a little glitchy (for me at least), but you can get up. Follow the path east to find another hut at a dead end. Go inside. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #7 The Elixir of Life is in the center of the hut, right in front of your eyes. --- We better head to Mountain Falls now. It is the green dot at the northern end of the Badlands. Mount your horse and head there immediately. ============================================================================== 4.07] MOUNTAIN FALLS [0407] ============================================================================== Read the sign near the boulders ahead for some info on a boom-root plant. Switch to Ash and light the plant with Inferno, then back the heck up and watch the sparks fly. Now that the path is opened, you can enter Mountain Falls. Kameo also spots a Shadow Troll as it flees. Of course, we have to explore the new area for Elemental Fruits before we can proceed with the game! --- You will find three buildings near the south end of Mountain Falls. Squibble's Shop is the one straight ahead from the entrance. Don't go inside; instead swim in the water behind the shop. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #35 Swim behind Squibble's Shop. Jump onto the sandy slope behind. Repeatedly jump to get up the ramp, where you'll find another dancing plant. You know what to do; shake it for an Elemental Fruit. Follow the cliffside path to the north end of Mountain Falls. Just a little ways north is the shop. Pick up the Medium Money Pouch and the other goodies. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #36 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #37 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #8 Purchase an Elixir of Life from the shop for 20 Runes. Facing the shop, walk to the left to find some flat rocks. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #38 Turn into Pummel Weed when you reach the flat rocks to the left of the shop. Use Creeper, then Uprooter to flip them all over. An Elemental Fruit is underneath one of these rocks. There is a ramp near the south end of the area that leads up to the upper level. Once you reach the top, the rock bridge falls apart and forms into a rock creature. You can destroy them with boom-root plants, but don't worry about that right now. Instead, enter the building behind you and speak with the creature inside. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #39 You must light all eight dragon heads to illuminate the Shrine of Light. There are six dragon heads inside the shrine and two outside. There is a back door so you can reach a few of the hard-to-reach dragon heads. Once all eight dragon heads are lit, the elder will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #40 You must light all eight dragon heads to illuminate the Shrine of Light. There are six dragon heads inside the shrine and two outside. There is a back door so you can reach a few of the hard-to-reach dragon heads. Once all eight dragon heads are lit, the elder will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #41 You must light all eight dragon heads to illuminate the Shrine of Light. There are six dragon heads inside the shrine and two outside. There is a back door so you can reach a few of the hard-to-reach dragon heads. Once all eight dragon heads are lit, the elder will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #9 You can find an Elixir of Life in the corner of the Shrine of Light; you must enter the back entrance to reach it. Drop down through the hole where the bridge once was. The rock creature slithers around a boom-root plant. Ignite the plant and watch it blow up the rocks. Now that they are broken apart, you can use Rubble to tote them around. Switch to Rubble and stand near them to have the rocks swarm you. Slowly walk back up the ramp with the rocks and approach the bridge to fix it. Go across the bridge and approach the cave; it leads to Lobster Hollow. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #42 Before entering Lobster Hollow, walk around to the right to find a dancing plant. Shake it and take the Elemental Fruit. Enter Lobster Hollow. -------------- Lobster Hollow -------------- The Shadow Troll retreats into its well as all the dragon head torches go out. Walk down the ramp and speak with the squid creature. After talking to him, the screen points towards the dragon head. Guess that means we have to light them with Ash. The catch is that you have to light them in the correct order. There are four torches surrounding the well. If you mess up the order, crabs will appear and attack you. The first one you should light is on the pillar with the sword and shield on both sides. The second dragon head has an anchor next to it. The third torch is the one with the lantern nearby, and the final one has the skull next to it. You must light each dragon head quickly so that the previous one doesn't go out. Once all four are lit, the well will open. Time to enter the Shadow Realm! ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ We have a very familiar battle up ahead as we face off against the third Shadow Troll. Your offensive maneuvers are exactly the same: kill the Lost Souls appear and use their light energy against the Shadow Troll. At the start of the fight, the Shadow Troll will stand in the center of the room. He'll smash his fists on the ground, releasing a blue shockwave. If you are hit by it while you have collected light energy, you will lose it. Once the Shadow Troll uses the attack, jump over the wave. Kill a nearby Lost Soul and quickly use the light energy on the Troll. Sometimes, the Shadow Troll will sink into the ground and move around just like a shadow. Avoid his claw attack if he approaches you in this form. Finally, the Shadow Troll can still fire a wave of bats like the previous battle. Hit him with three bursts of light energy to win. You will free the next Elemental Sprite, who turns out to be Major Ruin. You should have enough Elemental Fruits by now to fully upgrade him! -------------- Lobster Hollow -------------- Now that you have more than three Elemental Warriors, you will have to keep one of them unassigned (since you can only assign them to three buttons, duhhh). However, you can now use the Warrior Wheel. To use it, hold down X, Y, or B. Once held down, a wheel with ten slots will appear. Four of them are filled with your current warriors, and you can use the Left Analog Stick to switch Elemental Warriors. Much easier than doing it through the Wotnot Book every time. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #43 Change into Major Ruin and put your girth to the test as you run down the six lobster cages in the main room. Use Rush to destroy each one; you will find an Elemental Fruit underneath one of 'em. Notice the boom-root plants surrounding the room? Use Major Ruin's Rush to knock them around. Use Rush to detach the plant from their base, then roll into them to move 'em around. Knock them next to the stone chests, then use Ash to light them. This will destroy the chests, which all contain Runes. Once you are done hoarding the place, leave. -------------- Mountain Falls -------------- Another Shadow Troll escapes through the northwest end of Mountain Falls. Ignore him for now as we put our newest Elemental Warrior to work. --- Go around the side of the mountain and pass by where you found the 42nd Elemental Fruit. Use Major Ruin's Rush to leap over the gap and read the sign at the dead end. "#1 - That starfish hold some pearls of fame - search there to start my treasure game." Drop down from your position and turn around. Go under the mountain past the starfish. We must be really close. Use Rush to shoot up the slope near the red starfish to find the second secret sign. "#2 - To find my sign and save some hassle, search behind the ancient castle..." Ancient castle... they must mean the Shrine of Light! Return to the shrine and head to the back to find the sign. "#3 - The lakeside hill near wise old squid is where my latest sign is hid." Look to the left of the sign down towards the ground. You can see the fourth sign on the ledge, right next to where the 35th Elemental Fruit was. Drop down and climb up the ramp to the sign. "#4 - The final sin's across the way, out from the ledge where Roctii play." Look straight across from the fourth sign to the east side of the area. You'll have to go there next. Drop down and head to the eastern end and head up the hill. Pass by the deactivated Warp Gate and the rock creature and go up the second hill to find a boom-root plant. Nearby is a cave blocked by three huge boulders. You can push the plant next to the blockade and blow it up. Doing so clears a path to Treasure Cave. Don't go in yet; we don't have to, but it's nice to have opened it for later, right? Instead, roll the boom-root plant down the hill and towards the rock creature. Light the plant as Ash to break apart the rocks. Next, gather the rocks with Rubble and bring them to the circular pad right next to you. The rocks will create a ramp, so switch to Major Ruin and use Rush to clear the gap. You should land on a tiny platform. Read the final sign here. "#5 - The game is done, you've won the day - now take this fruit and go away!" - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #44 A dancing plant will appear after completing the secret sign quest. Shake it to receive another fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #45 As Kameo, look across the gap to spot another platform and another dancing plant. Jump onto the platform and shake the plant for the fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #46 Look under the base of the first mountain; underneath where the Shrine of Light is. Three stone chests lie underneath. Proceed over to the chests and transform into Major Ruin. Roll the nearby boom-root plant over to the stone chests and switch to Ash. Light the plant and watch it go boom; an Elemental Fruit (along with some Runes) are the contents of the chests. --- That's all, folks! Lets chase after that dang Shadow Troll, shall we? Switch to Major Ruin and roll to the northwest corner of Mountain Falls. Use Rush to roll up the ramp and press the Right Trigger while in midair to shoot through the passage. ------------- Mountain Rise ------------- The Shadow Troll has captured Deep Blue and escapes. Also, a door next to you locks as some dragon head torches fizzle out. Switch to Ash and walk forward to encounter two Plant Trolls. These losers like to hide underground and pop up at the worst possible moment. In a battle between fire-breathing dragons and stupid plants, well... you know who wins. The red barrels in the corner are explosive, so you can use them to get some Brutal Bonuses. Light the dragon head torch next to the locked door. Instead of trying to avoid the Troll Archers on their wooden towers, burn 'em down with Ash's Wildfire technique. A very easy way to score a Brutal Bonus. Roll across the gap with Major Ruin and take out another group of Plant Trolls. Light the dragon head nearby with Ash. Avoid the boulders that roll down from the summit as you rush up the next ramp. As you are ambushed by another group of Plant Trolls, switch to Pummel Weed and punch them right into the stone grinder. Can you say "Brutal Bonus"? I can. Light the third and final dragon head torch, which is located just past the stone grinder. Return to the newly-opened door and continue through. Upon entering the mine, a Rock Troll will confront you. In order to kill him, you must use the two boom-root plants enclosed behind the gates here. You can destroy the gates and move the boom-root plant at the Troll, or you can lure him there yourself. Either way, an explosion from one of these plants will kill the Rock Troll in one hit. After his remains are used to create a ramp, other Trolls will drop down from above. Use the boom-root plants and the vines to get Brutal Bonuses. Change into Major Ruin and use Rush to get over the ramp and onto the other side. We have to light another trio of torches in order to open up the exit. There are more boulders and Cannon Trolls to annoy you along the way. Use Ash to light the first torch just before the step. Jump up the step and roll up the ramp with Major Ruin. Next, light the dragon head just past the ramp. To get over the stone wall beyond, morph into Major Ruin and use Rush on the ramp to fling over. Light the third torch on the other side of the wall to open the door just past you. Enter the next mine. Give the sleeping Trolls a rude awakening with some flames. Take out the Plant Trolls with Ash as well and target the two Troll Archers high on the ledges. Use Wildfire to have the fireballs climb up the wall and hit them. Once the room is clear, morph into Major Ruin and use Rush to cross over the ramp and onto the ledge. Roll up the next ramp and switch to Ash. Target the explosive barrel on top of another ramp. Doing so will cause a huge explosion and the opening of a secret chamber. Head inside and break open the treasure chest for some Runes. Return to the main path and follow it to a wooden bridge. A bridge that happens to be broken. Don't worry, just cruise on across with Major Ruin. You won't be able to make it with a single jump, so once you reach the peak of your jump, press the Right Trigger to float in midair and shoot across like a cannonball. Roll out into the open. A Stone Troll will get right in your face as you drop down. Not to be confused with a Rock Troll, Stone Trolls look just like Trolls that were chiseled from stone. They are incredibly sturdy and are best targeted as Major Ruin. Ash does nothing and Pummel Weed doesn't do much, so use Major Ruin's Rush to knock the Stone Troll around. Knocking him into explosive barrels should do the trick quite nicely. Go to the right and across the narrow walkway towards the dead end. Light the dragon head here and return to the fork. Now go left onto a grassy area filled with explosive barrels, stone grinders, and a second Stone Troll. Use the "appliances" here to take him out and head towards the ramp. Look to the left of the ramp. Across the gap, on the side of the path is a dragon head. While it seems out of reach, you can target it from here with Ash's Wildfire. Do so, then switch to Major Ruin and proceed over the gap (you may need to use a second Rush in midair to get across). Kill the two Plant Trolls and hop up the series of steps. Before jumping up the final two steps, look across the chasm to find the third dragon head on the side of the mountain. Light it to open the door up ahead. Jump up the steps and shoot over the gap as Major Ruin, then proceed through the door. Dispose of the Stone Troll pair in the tunnel and use Major Ruin to roll up the ramp on the other side. Back outside again! To the left is a stick-thin walkway with a chest on the other side. Carefully maneuver across and collect the Runes in the treasure chest. Now go to the right and use Rush to roll up the two ramps here. Enter the mine. A Rock Troll will come to life inside. You can locate a boom-root plant on the bottom of a platform. To reach it, shoot up the ramp next to it and you will roll through the plant, knocking it to the ground. Use it to destroy the Rock Troll. Before you can use its corpse as a ramp, take out the two Trolls that drop in to say "hi". Proceed up the ramp to the ledge and follow it to a ramp. Use Major Ruin's Rush to get up the ramp, then press the Right Trigger while in the air. Turn around to locate a pipe behind you. Shoot into the pipe and pop out of the hole at the end. Roll up two more ramps; as you go up the second one, hold down the Right Trigger again and spin around. Shoot into another pipe and head on through to the other side. Destroy the crates/chests up here, then leave the mine shaft. Talk to the squid thing outside for a confidence boost, then follow it into the cave. We're almost done here, I promise! ------------- Summit Spring ------------- The Shadow Troll disappears in the well as a strange pillar moves around. Talk to the squid thing again for some advice on this puzzle. You must activate all four pillars in order to open the well. To activate each one, use Major Ruin and Rush into the red jewel at the base of each one. Of course, you must do it in a specific order just like the puzzle back in Lobster Hollow. Pay attention to the number of skulls around the four pillars. Find the pillar surrounded by only one skull. Hit this one first. Proceed to the one with two skulls, and so on. If you mess up, prepare to fight against a wave of nasty (and incredibly weak) crabs. I'm shaking in my elven boots! Once the well has been opened, jump in to enter the Shadow Realm. ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ The Shadow Troll is identical to the last one, save for one new attack. He will summon giant spikes as they rise from under you. When you see beams of light appear from the ground, get the heck away. The Shadow Troll can use attacks seen in the last three battles as well. You should know the drill by now. Kill the Lost Souls to harvest their light energy, then shoot it at the Shadow Troll as you avoid his attacks. After hitting him three times, the battle will end. Absorb the Elemental Sprite to earn the power of Deep Blue. ------------- Summit Spring ------------- The spring has flooded, but Deep Blue has the ability to swim. After upgrading him and the likes, transform and test out the controls for swimming. Press and hold the Left Trigger to thrust with your jet arms. When using Thrust, use the Left Analog Stick to move. Moving down will make you descend and up will make you rise. I personally am not the biggest fan of swimming in this game, but all I can say is that you better get used to it. Sink to the bottom and use use Blast on the stone chest for some Runes. Swim towards the exit, which is boarded up. Each blue board has a red jewel. Hit each with your Blast technique to open the way out. ------------- Mountain Rise ------------- Despite being a weird octopus monster, Deep Blue can be used on dry land. Go down the slope towards the squid thing and aim at the gate. You can use the water wheel to open the gate. Aim at the wheel and try out your Spray ability, which causes streams of water to shoot out of Deep Blue's arms. Use Spray to spin the wheel and open the gate. -------------- Mountain Falls -------------- The entrance to the Water Temple is open. Well technically, it's always been open, but we can now access it with Deep Blue. But that's not what we're here for... just yet. We can use Deep Blue to find some Elemental Fruits and even an Elixir of Life or two. Get hoppin'! --- Go south of the shop to encounter a squid man. Speak with him to accept his proposal. You must find his three lost pearls and return them to the starfish holders. Each of the pearls are found underwater, which is now accessible as Deep Blue. Go to the walkway leading up to the Mountain Falls. Jump into the pool of water to the right and dive down. Shoot open the clams with Blast to find the first pearl inside. Now that you have found the first pearl, it will float up to the water's surface. Push it onto dry land as Deep Blue and then switch to Kameo. Push it past the squid man and into the small area underneath the mountain base. Push the pearl onto one of the three blue starfish. Facing the squid thing, turn around and jump in the pool of water. Blast open the clams to find the second pearl. Push it onto the next starfish holder. Now head to the southwest corner of Mountain Falls. Jump into the pool and swim towards the waterfall, then descend with Thrust. You will find two more clams near the base of the nearby building. The third pearl is found here, so bring it back to the starfish holder. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #47 Once you have found and returned all three pearls, speak with the squid man again to receive a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #48 Once you have found and returned all three pearls, speak with the squid man again to receive a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #49 Once you have found and returned all three pearls, speak with the squid man again to receive a large Elemental Fruit. After completing the quest, the squid man's wife will leave the entrance to her home. Head into the home to find out what she was blocking. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #10 Go inside Scooner's Shack after the pearl quest to find an Elixir of Life floating above the table smack dab in the middle of the house. Return to the house at the southwest corner of Mountain Falls and go inside. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #50 Defeat the two Water Trolls lurking inside Reefus' House. In order to damage them, use Deep Blue's Spray to make them vulnerable. When their body turns from transparent to solid, you are able to attack. Finish them off with a Pool/Snatch combo to win a large Elemental Fruit from the local. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #51 Defeat the two Water Trolls lurking inside Reefus' House. In order to damage them, use Deep Blue's Spray to make them vulnerable. When their body turns from transparent to solid, you are able to attack. Finish them off with a Pool/Snatch combo to win a large Elemental Fruit from the local. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #52 Defeat the two Water Trolls lurking inside Reefus' House. In order to damage them, use Deep Blue's Spray to make them vulnerable. When their body turns from transparent to solid, you are able to attack. Finish them off with a Pool/Snatch combo to win a large Elemental Fruit from the local. Leave and head to Treasure Cave (you should have opened it up if you are following my walkthrough). ------------- Treasure Cave ------------- Kill the crab generator with any basic attack. It will end up regenerating seconds later, and there is no way to put it out of commission for good. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #53 At the entrance, take the right path to find a dancing plant. Shake it for another Elemental Fruit. Return to the entrance and make a left. Switch to Major Ruin and use Rush to get over the ramp. You will wake up a sleeping Water Troll. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #54 Kill the awakened Water Troll to receive an Elemental Fruit. Locate the second ramp in this chamber and shoot over. Roll down the passage and talk to the squid girl at the entrance of the next room. Agree to rescue her boyfriend and enter the room. Temporarily eliminate the crab generator and destroy the chests for some Runes. Boost over the ramp to land in the other side of the room. Take down the pair of Water Trolls and use Rush to get over the next ramp here. Ignore the ramp leading across the next rock wall. Proceed through the crab-infested hallway to find yourself in a small room with four tentacle creatures. Stand in the center of the four tentacles as they each spin around in a circle. When they spin to the center of the room (facing you), use Spray to hit each one in the eye. Hitting all four will release the boyfriend. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #55 Freeing the squid girl's boyfriend will net you a large Elemental Fruit. Go back to her location and claim your prize. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #56 Freeing the squid girl's boyfriend will net you a large Elemental Fruit. Go back to her location and claim your prize. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #57 Freeing the squid girl's boyfriend will net you a large Elemental Fruit. Go back to her location and claim your prize. Return to the area where you dealt with two Water Trolls. Instead of taking the ramp back to the tentacle room, boost over the second rock wall to enter a chamber filled with three Water Trolls. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #58 Take care of the three Water Trolls here. One of them will drop a fruit. Break all of the wooden chests in this section to reveal a small niche in the wall. You can slide under with Pummel Weed's Creeper, but ignore it for the time being. Instead, use the ramp to gain access to the area where the squid boy was being held. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #59 Smash apart the treasure chest in the squid man's prison to find a fruit. --- Return to the hole in the wall and go through as Pummel Weed. Flip the shells and destroy the chests to find some Runes, but watch out for the three explosive barrels surrounding the room! Next, switch to Deep Blue and swim to the bottom of the pool. Blast open the clams for Runes and swim through the underwater tunnel. Once at the other end, float to the surface and jump out of the pool. Destroy the chests for some more Runes and Deep Blue's Alternate Skin. Exit Treasure Cave. -------------- Mountain Falls -------------- Morph into Deep Blue and head for the green marker on the map. Swim underwater to reach the entrance to the Water Dungeon. ============================================================================== 4.08] WATER TEMPLE [0408] ============================================================================== Upon entering the Water Temple, a submarine will appear. These massive machines will drop off Troll Divers and shoot torpedoes at you. Each shot from Deep Blue's Blast only takes off 50 health, so 20 hits are needed in order to sink this ship. Try to pursue the sub and shoot two or three times when it stops to dispatch another Troll Divers. Also spend some time to fight the Troll Divers. They'll kick the bucket after one Blast shot. Also pay attention to the mines chained to the bottom of the chamber. Shoot the chain to make the mine rise to the surface. If you're lucky, it might get in the way of a Troll Diver or the submarine. Once the submarine is taken care of, the exit will open up. Thrust through to reach the next area. Swim through the waterlogged hallway, blasting the two Troll Divers along the way. When you reach dry land, jump out and walk towards the middle for a scene. A Fire Troll will appear from the urn in the center. He will summon smaller Fire Trolls before disappearing. These guys are identical to the ones found back at Thorn's Castle. Use Deep Blue and spray them for the easy victory. After two waves of Fire Trolls, the big guy will rear his ugly face. He will summon some live boom-root plants. Shoot them away with Spray and also shoot the Fire Troll with a jet of water. With the Fire Troll extinguished, switch to Pummel Weed and knock his lights out. You can only damage him when his flames have been put out. Once the Fire Troll is out of the way, the nearby water wheel will be activated. Switch to Deep Blue and spray it to make a tower in the last room rise from the deep. A large army of Trolls will drop in from the windows in the room. I found Pummel Weed to be the best choice when fighting the vast number of Trolls. You can easily get into Focus Mode and earn Brutal Bonuses by punching them into the water. Entering the main waterlogged chamber will initiate another fight with a Troll vehicle. This one is a tanker that stays on the surface of the water, dropping bombs from above. The tanker also deploys Troll Divers to help with the annoyance. From the immediate start, shoot the chains of the three mines at the bottom of the room. They will rise to the surface and most likely collide with the tanker sooner or later (which results in a one-hit, Brutal Bonus kill). You can also resort to basic tactics and use Blast to slowly damage the ship. Once it is destroyed, a few Roll Trolls will appear at the top of the tower. Swim onto the side of the tower and switch to Major Ruin so you can roll up the ramp. Next, change into Kameo and jump over the hole. Roll up the second ramp and deal with the Roll Trolls. Shoot off of the nearby ramp and into the tunnel, then move on. A Fire Troll will summon a small batch of Troll Archers. Kill them as you proceed through the hallway and enter the room ahead. The door closes behind you (great... just great) and two Fire Trolls summon some smaller Fire Trolls to do their bidding. Things may get a little hectic here. Aside from the nice amount of Fire Trolls here, a few Plant Trolls are hiding in the vases around the edge of the room. Deep Blue's attacks can heal them, so immediately switch to Ash and roast 'em if they appear. Next, take down the Fire Trolls with Deep Blue. When a big Fire Troll appears, avoid the boom-root plants that it drops by running away. Don't worry about stepping on the grating: the lava underneath cannot hurt you. When you dodge the explosion, use Spray on the Fire Troll to put him out. Next, switch to Pummel Weed and sock him in the nose. Doing so can be a little difficult because the smaller Fire Trolls tend to run around and target you as well. Once both Fire Trolls are killed, switch to Deep Blue and activate the water wheel. Once spun, another tower will rise from the depths. Deal with the Troll army that appears and go through the door with the two red jewels at the top. Take down the Trolls in the hall and jump into the chute at the end. Now we have to deal with two tankers and two subs in this big room. Ignore the tankers and destroy all the chains holding the mines. It's only a matter of time when one (or both) tankers are destroyed by the mines. Next up, focus on the subs one at a time. The room is plenty big enough for you to escape from torpedo fire. Now that the coast is clear, an opening will uhh... open up. Look for the Troll Divers nearby to locate the opening. Blast them apart and go through to find a few more. Once ridding the earth of the pesky monsters, blast open the group of chests at the ocean floor. Swim to the surface and onto the ramp. Morph into Major Ruin and boost over the ramp and switch to Kameo. As you jump over the next few gaps, Cannon Trolls will fire boom-root plants down at you. Avoid the plants and kill the Trolls, then enter the doorway at the top. Head up the ramp and assist the soldiers in slaying the Trolls. After, walk across the stone bridge. Break the crates to the left and enter the room on the right. You will then meet up with the demon of the Water Temple: Corallis. =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- BOSS: Corallis =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- The battle against Corallis is a lot easier than the last boss, mostly for the reason that it's hard for you to lose. Corallis only has one main attack, and it is very easy to avoid. He will rub two of his tentacles and form a beam of electricity. Roll away as Major Ruin so you don't get shocked. If you are in the water while the electricity hits, you will slowly lose health. The best advice is to stay out of the water. Stay as Major Ruin and roll around the dry perimeter of the arena. Follow Corallis as he moves around. You may notice four ramps in the room and the boom-root plants that fall from the ledges above. Approach the ramp closest to the boss and look for some boom-root plants. Push them towards the ramp and send them off with Rush. Hopefully you will be able to connect. If Corallis is hit with a boom-root plant, he will sink into the water. Jump in as Deep Blue and go underwater. The four electric orbs on each of Corallis' tentacles will now be vulnerable. Fire at them with Blast to damage them. Each one takes four hits to be destroyed. If you're lucky, you will be able to take out two of the four orbs before Corallis regains composure and flies out of the water. The battle's first stage will repeat and you'll have to damage him with another boom-root plant. Corallis will now attack more frequently as the blasts last longer. If you need health, smash the crates around the sides. You might not need any hearts, because hopefully you have the Eye of Restoration equipped. Corallis will also spend less time in the water, so you may have to repeat the process three or more times. Once all four orbs are destroyed, the battle ends. =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- Well, that's the end of Corallis! Lenya is now freed from his slimy grasp. -------------- Mountain Falls -------------- Your aunt Lenya has been freed, and she gives Kameo Chilla as a token of her gratitude. The Mystic also gives you your next mission. Upgrade Chilla. Before entering the Warp Gate, we still have some unfinished business here in Mountain Falls. We're ALMOST done here, I promise. --- - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #60 From the Warp Gate, go down the ramp and jump onto the small island filled with three trees. As Chilla, aim at the trees and fire an ice spike at the green shell in the tree. The shell breaks open, revealing a fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #61 Proceed towards the north end of Mountain Falls. When you reach the bridge leading from the Shrine of Light to Lobster Hollow, look around to spot a boom-root plant. To the right of the plant is a tree with a familiar green shell in the leaves. Aim with Chilla and break it open to find a fruit. Make a last pit stop at the shop before going into the Warp Gate. ----------------- Enchanted Kingdom ----------------- From the start, go forward and transform into Pummel Weed. Use Creeper under the gold gate and go to the right. Enter the Chamber of Living Portraits. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #62 Once in the Chamber of Living Portraits, switch to Major Ruin. Use Rush to destroy the potted plants surrounding the room. The pot to the left of the mirror holds an Elemental Fruit. Leave the chamber and return to the area near The Mystic's hut. Talk to the flying blue creature to the left of The Mystic's house. After going on and on about his prize-winning crop, he subtlety ask Kameo for help. Change into Deep Blue and use Spray on the five buds to make them grow into marvelous plants. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #63 Speak with the farmer after supplying his crop with a necessary supply of water to receive a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #64 Speak with the farmer after supplying his crop with a necessary supply of water to receive a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #65 Speak with the farmer after supplying his crop with a necessary supply of water to receive a large Elemental Fruit. After completing the quest, proceed to the Throne Room and go inside. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #66 Once in the Throne Room, switch to Major Ruin. Use Rush to destroy the potted plants surrounding the room. The pot on the left side of the room holds an Elemental Fruit. Once you have the Elemental Fruit, enter the area on the right side of the Throne Room to reach the Ancient Tower. ------------- Ancient Tower ------------- Talk to the purple squid lady at the entrance to learn that her kids are lost in the tower. Approach the ramp behind her and morph into Major Ruin. Boost up the ramp, then immediately turn into Chilla to grab the ice wall. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #67 At the fork, take the left path. When you reach a dead end, press the Left Trigger to let go of the ice wall as you fall onto a ledge. Smash the chest next to you and walk around the perimeter. Turn into Kameo and jump over the gap. Turn into Ash and use Inferno on the ice block at the end to reveal an Elemental Fruit. Drop down to the ground and make your way back to the ice wall. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #68 This time, go right at the intersection. Pass by the beetle and drop off of the ice when you reach the end. Intentionally fall past the panel of ice below to land on another raised ledge. Break the chest here for a fruit. Walk around the ledge and jump over the gap to find another ice block. Melt it with Ash to locate one of the missing kids. Drop down again and return to the ramp. Launch back onto the ice wall and go left again at the fork. This time, latch onto the patch of ice below when you let go. Follow the ice as you avoid the beetles. When you reach the next drop-off point, fall onto the ledge. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #69 You will be on the next floor of the tower. Kill all the beetles and use Ash to destroy the obstacles in your way (boxes, ice blocks). Shake the dancing plant past the first ice block for an Elemental Fruit. Burn down the other ice blocks to find the second child inside. How he gets back down to his mother is beyond me. Also, don't forget to pick up the Eye of Protection in the center of the floor. Use Major Ruin's Rush to boost up the next ramp, then grab onto the wall with Chilla. Climb up, then go left when possible. When the path bends north, look down to spot another part of the ice wall. Drop down and grab back on, then follow the ice wall north to the next floor. Use Ash to melt the ice blocks here to find the third child. Defeat the beetles crawling around and pick up Chilla's Alternate Skin floating on the platform across from the entrance. Use the second ice wall here to descend back to the previous floor. Fall down the hole to the left of the ramp and clamp onto the ice. Slowly slide down to the first floor. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #70 For rescuing all three of her kids, the squid lady will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #71 For rescuing all three of her kids, the squid lady will give you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #72 For rescuing all three of her kids, the squid lady will give you a large Elemental Fruit. Once you have collected the fruit, leave the tower. ----------------- Enchanted Kingdom ----------------- That's all we can do in the Enchanted Kingdom for now. We can use Chilla to explore new areas in the Forgotten Forest, so ignore the green blip and follow the guide if you're up for it. Enter the blue teleporter to the left of the Warrior Trainer's house. ---------------------- Forgotten Forest Glade ---------------------- - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #73 From the Warp Gate, turn around and walk towards the river. Jump onto the island with the boom-root plant on it and change into Major Ruin. Knock it back onto dry land and push it to the left. Position the boom-root plant next to the rock blocking Creeper's house. Morph into Ash and ignite it. Blasting open the door to his house will earn you a large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #74 From the Warp Gate, turn around and walk towards the river. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #75 From the Warp Gate, turn around and walk towards the river. If you go inside Creeper's hut and inspect the music box to the left of the entrance, you can listen to a remixed version of the Banjo Kazooie theme. :P Exit the hut and use Pummel Weed to travel under the vines near Creeper's hut. Continue forward like you were heading back to Mushroom Cave. Go under the next set of vines and destroy the beetle generator with Ash. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #76 After destroying the beetle generator, switch to Chilla. Aim an ice spike at the pulsing green pods hanging from the ceiling. Burst each one with an ice spike; one of them will drop an Elemental Fruit. --- Okay, time to return to the Badlands. Exit Forgotten Forest Glade to return to the Badlands. ============================================================================== 4.09] BADLANDS [0409] ============================================================================== We have to protect another Elemental Shrine from Thorn's sea forces. A horse should be located near the entrance to the Badlands, giving you easy access to the shrine (the blinking red dot). Before you set off, we have one Elemental Fruit to collect nearby. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #77 Enter the hut near the entrance to the Forgotten Forest. Defeat the four Trolls inside and switch to Chilla. Destroy the three green pods hanging from the ceiling to find an Elemental Fruit. Defending the second shrine is a lot more difficult than the first. Your goal is to protect the human soldiers as they ready the cannons. Two soldiers will control the gears that position the cannon. Protect them from incoming Trolls while they position the cannon. The humans are weak and can be damaged by your attacks, so sometimes it can be hard to focus on just the Trolls. Use Rubble's Sling or Ash's Inferno to fend off the enemies (I found the latter to work the best). Also watch out for the Giant Troll lumbering around here; kill him early on to prevent massive damage to the shrine. Once the first cannon is in place, use Ash to light the fuse, damaging the Troll ship as the soldiers move onto the next cannon. Trolls will climb up from the cliff walls, so there's a virtually infinite amount of enemies here. Just keep protecting the soldiers as they ready the artillery. There are five cannons in total, and you must light all of them in order to destroy the fleet. Once the shrine has been saved, locate your horse (wherever you dismounted him) and ride off towards the green blip on your map. When you reach the snowy area, pass by the two huts you scoured through earlier. Walk up the rocky hill and use Chilla to scale the icy wall in front of you. Enter the cave at the top to reach Snow Top Village. ============================================================================== 4.10] SNOW TOP VILLAGE [0410] ============================================================================== A Shadow Troll disappears off at the far end of the village. Like the previous villages, it's probably best if we get the explorin' outta the way first. --- Turn to the right and scorch the ice beetles as Ash. Pass by the two tykes playing with snowballs to reach a circular area filled with more ice beetles. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #78 Kill the ice beetles here and ignore the dragon flying overhead. The ice blocks around the area hold nothing, so garner your attention to the tree instead. See that icy fruit/pod/giant acorn hanging from the tree? Morph into Chilla and knock it down with an ice spike to reveal a fruit. Target the dragon flying overhead and hit it with an ice spike to cause it to drop a bomb egg. Roll the bomb into the tunnel and towards the boulders blocking the exit. Light it with Ash (or wait for it to detonate on its own after a few moments) to create an opening. Talk to the bug woman nearby who's clearly shaken up. She says that a rogue dragon has kidnapped her daughter and is flying around aimlessly. Use Major Ruin to boost up the ice ramp across from the hut. While in midair, use Rush a second time to shoot into the log. Roll past the opening on the left to reach a pool of water. Enter the opening to the right and go inside the house. Once inside Chom's Den, talk to the man of the house and agree to play his game. Three ice blocks will be presented in front of you. You must use Ash to melt only one; you will earn the prize inside. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #79 Win at Chom's game to get an Elemental Fruit. Two of the blocks contain an ice beetle or Runes while the third holds a fruit. It is randomized every time, so try your luck and hope to earn the Elemental Fruit. Exit the den and read the sign behind the house. "#1 - More signs are hidden - find them all! Start search near the snobby stall.." - ELIXIR OF LIFE #11 You may notice that the fence to the right of the den's entrance is missing. Look across the gap to find an Elixir of Life resting in an alcove. In order to reach it, change into Major Ruin. Use a charged up Hop and jump off the edge. At the peak of your jump, use Rush to reach the alcove safely. Drink the elixir and use the same strategy to return to safety. Return to the inside of the tree and enter the next area. The dragon thief is flying overhead; hit it with an ice spike to have it relocate. Go back inside the tree and use Chilla to climb up the ice wall inside. Stop by at the shop in front of you to pick up some things. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #80 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #81 Purchase an Elemental Fruit from the shop for 30 Runes. - ELIXIR OF LIFE #12 Purchase an Elixir of Life from the shop for 20 Runes. Well, that's all 12 Elixirs of Life! Read the sign to the left of the shop for another clue: "#2 - It stinks of egg, it's quite a height, but down below my sign's in sight." - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #82 Look in the tree above the shop and use an ice spike to knock down the ice- covered acorn plant thing to release an Elemental Fruit. Adjust your attention towards the yellow plant the cutscene before alluded to. This is a hornflower, and you can use it to make loud noises. Trust me, it can come to use at times (most notably, right now). Shake the plant to make the instrumental flower fall off, then pick it up. Look above the entrance you came from to find a hole in the tree. Notice the "zzzz" coming out of it. Throw the hornflower so that it lands under the hole to set it off, waking up the dragon inside. Shoot the dragon with Chilla's ice spike to make it drop a bomb egg. Roll it into the tree and around the bend to the blocked entrance. Once the entrance is cleared out, walk through to find that pesky dragon from before. Hit it again with an ice spike to make it fly towards the girl's hut. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #83 Melt the ice blocks here on this plateau for an Elemental Fruit. Ignore the ice wall here for now and enter the tree. Drop down to the bottom and backtrack through the log to the girl's house. Turn into Chilla and throw an ice spike at the dragon to finally make it submit. It releases the girl and flies away -- this time for good. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #84 The distraught mother gives you a large Elemental Fruit once you finally rescue her daughter from the pesky dragon. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #85 The distraught mother gives you a large Elemental Fruit once you finally rescue her daughter from the pesky dragon. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #86 The distraught mother gives you a large Elemental Fruit once you finally rescue her daughter from the pesky dragon. Return to the area where you found the 83rd Elemental Fruit and climb up the ice wall. Speak with the bug woman with the familiar "?!?" over her head. She asks you to free her husband from an ice block. Hit the dragon flying overhead to get another bomb egg. Push it inside the tree and towards the boulder. Once the path is cleared, go through to find five or so ice blocks. Melt them all with Ash. All but one contains ice beetles, but the other contains the lost husband. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #87 Freeing the bug lady's husband from his icy prison will earn you another large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #88 Freeing the bug lady's husband from his icy prison will earn you another large Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #89 Freeing the bug lady's husband from his icy prison will earn you another large Elemental Fruit. From your location, turn around and cross the wooden bridge. Proceed towards the ramp and change into Major Ruin. Boost up the ramp, then use Rush a second time in midair to launch over to the ice wall. As you shoot onto the wall, switch to Chilla to grab on. Now intentionally fall off to the ground below. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #90 You will find a dancing plant on the ground below the giant ice wall. Shake it to receive an Elemental Fruit. Also read the sign here. "#3 - Across the void, along the branch, my sign lies near the avalanche." --- Go up the walkway to reach the ramp again. This time, climb up the ice wall as Chilla to reach a ledge (you may want to spend some time on the ground to kill the ice beetles before you try and climb up the wall). Switch to Ash at the top and melt the ice covering the cave entrance, then continue inside. ------------- Sulfur Cavern ------------- The Shadow Troll retreats in his well, but he can't seem to get it closed. Looks like we lucked out! Wait... no. A coincidental avalanche just so happens to close up the well. Great, just great. Turn into Ash and use Inferno or Wildfire to kill the Plant Trolls. Also watch for the plants on the ceiling that drip acid. You can temporarily stun them with a well-aimed ice spike from Chilla. Once the Plant Trolls are out of the way, turn into Chilla and hit the dragon with an ice spike. When it drops a bomb egg, roll it over to the well and watch the rock on top blow to smithereens. Before going inside, smash open the crates and wooden chests for some Runes. ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ Once again, we have to fight another Shadow Troll. He has one new attack: exploding skulls. When you see a large column of light appear, back away. A flaming skull will appear, then explode into three smaller ones. These will also blow up shortly after. Simply keep away so you don't get caught in the blast radius. The Lost Souls move around a lot faster in this battle. Still, kick them apart and steal their light energy. Hit the Shadow Troll three times to win. Absorb the next Elemental Warrior to receive Flex. ------------- Sulfur Cavern ------------- Upgrade Flex and test out his controls in the Sulfur Cavern. The main entrance/exit is currently blocked by blue tentacles. However, you can use the blue plants (that kinda look like Deku Babas from Zelda) to cover new ground. Hold the Left and Right Trigger to aim Flex's tentacles. Aim towards one of the blue plants and let go when their mouth is open. Flex will grab onto their tongue and fly over to their location. Kinda neat, huh? Locate the blue plant near the entrance of the cave (he's on the ceiling). Target him with Shot to fling past the tentacles. Exit the cavern. ---------------- Snow Top Village ---------------- Watch the cutcene to find another Shadow Troll. We have to do several things before we can hunt down the nuisance, though. Look to the right to spot a blue plant on a ledge above you. Use Shot to get up to the ledge and enter the cave. Drop down from the ledge and go up the slope. Boost up the ramp as Major Ruin and begin to cross the bridge. Ortho will get a bad feeling about the Badlands, as he thinks something bad is a' brewin'. I suggest listening to Ortho. As Major Ruin, roll across the bridge and into the tree. Burst through the wooden guard rail and down the shaft to the base of the tree. Roll through the log to view a scene. Looks like the third Elemental Shrine is under attack! We have to head to the Badlands immediately! Boost over the ramp and exit Snow Top Village. ============================================================================== 4.11] BADLANDS [0411] ============================================================================== Morph into Chilla and slide down the icy wall. You will find a horse below. Mount the horse and ride to the blinking red blip on your map. Make sure you have your Spirit Bar is full before you charge through the army of Trolls on the way up. Our mission is to destroy the Troll catapults below by using our own. Approach the ramp near the first catapult in front of you. Roll the molten rock up the ramp and into the catapult; watch as one of the enemy catapults is destroyed. The last two catapults also need to be activated in order to successfully win. The other two rocks are a bit farther away, usually being pushed around by Trolls. Locate one of them and kill the Troll moving it. It's probably easiest to use Chilla to move the molten rocks just because he is the biggest Elemental Warrior. Push the rock into the second catapult and do the same with the third. Once all three catapults are activated, the Troll defenses will be destroyed and the shrine will be saved. Find your horse and return to Snow Top Village. ---------------- Snow Top Village ---------------- Alrighty then, lets get back to business. Proceed to the base of the tree (right near the pool of water inside) and go straight ahead. Walk behind the Snow Top Schoolhouse and look at the log across the chasm. Turn into Flex and use Shot on the blue plant on top of the log. Repeatedly use Shot on the blue plants to get to the cliffside. Read the sign to the right: "#4 - Near Thyra's hair, the Great Ravine, you'll find my sign - know where I mean?" Morph into Flex and use Shot to spiral around the side of the mountain. Watch out for the giant snowballs that fall from the mountain's peak. There are small alcoves in which you can avoid the rolling snowballs. When you reach a seemingly dead end, turn around to find another blue plant. Shoot up to its location and continue your ascent. When you get to the top, use Ash's Inferno to burn a hole through the ice. Go into the cave. -------------- Crystal Grotto -------------- The Shadow Troll retreats into its well as some vines grow around it. An Ice Troll patrols on the floor below. Turn into Flex and go down the slope towards it. When the Ice Troll raises its shield and advances towards you, use Shot to pull the shield away. With the Troll defenseless, melt it with Ash's Inferno. Defeating the Ice Troll will give you access to the well. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #91 Transform into Chill and shoot the ice bulbs hanging from the ceiling with your ice spikes. One of them will drop an Elemental Fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #92 Melt the ice block behind the well with Ash to obtain a fruit. Jump in the well after the Shadow Troll. ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ Back at the Shadow Realm already! Same ol' crap here, you know the drill. He will use an energy shockwave attack seen before in previous battles. Once you hit the Shadow Troll once with light energy, he will create two clones. The clones cannot be damaged as you must target the real one. While you have access to light energy, target the real one; the two fakes are transparent. After you hit the Shadow Troll three times, he will dissipate and free the Elemental Sprite. Absorb him to receive 40 Below. -------------- Crystal Grotto -------------- Equip 40 Below and fully upgrade him; you have more than enough Elemental Fruits to do so. Use Frostbite or Blower to clear the grotto of ice beetles. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #93 Use 40 Below's Frostbite or Blower to destroy the two ice chests near the base of the hill. One contains Runes while the other contains a fruit. Exit the Crystal Grotto. ---------------- Snow Top Village ---------------- You can now use the giant ice paths scattered around the village when using 40 Below. Try it out on the slope to your left. You'll go pretty fast, but don't worry, the only way to fall off is if you actually tried to. Boost up the ramp as Major Ruin and cross the bridge. Enter the tree and fall all the way down to the base. Proceed towards the schoolhouse and slide down the ice path behind it. You will end up on a small island. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #94 There is a dancing plant on the island between the two ice slopes. Shake it to steal its Elemental Fruit. Change into 40 Below and ride the second ice path. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #95 Break the ice chest past the second ice path as 40 Below to find yet another Elemental Fruit. Morph into Flex and shoot up to the blue plant on the high ledge. Flex is one of the few Elemental Warriors that can swim... kinda. He actually uses his tentacles to glide on the surface like those incredibly annoying water skaters I always find in my pool. Anywho, use the blue plants to reach the top of the waterfall. Use Shot on the final plant to end up next to the entrance of the Snow Temple. Before you enter the Snow Temple, read the fifth secret sign to the left of the entrance. "#5 - You've trekked and climbed and stretched and balanced - this fruit rewards your many talents." - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #96 A dancing plant will appear after completing the secret sign quest. Shake it to receive another fruit. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #97 There is an ice path to the left of the Snow Temple entrance. Ride it as 40 Below to a large alcove. Shake the dancing plant inside for a fruit. Ride back across the ice path and go inside the Snow Temple. ============================================================================== 4.12] SNOW TEMPLE [0412] ============================================================================== Watch as your Uncle Yeros gets carried away by Trolls. Break the crates to the right and climb up the ice wall here. Climb up the wall until two Cannon Trolls try to stop you in your tracks. Climb to the left, then let go and grip onto the second patch of ice. Climb onto the ledge and focus your attention on the nuisances. Dispatch them both with some well-placed ice spikes and continue. Either climb up the ice wall as Chilla or use Flex to string between the blue plants. When you reach the top ledge, continue your ascent on the ice wall. You will have to dodge snowballs that fall from above. There are small alcoves on the side of the ice wall that you can use to avoid them, or you can just use your awesome wall jumping skills. When you reach the top, continue to the left. Drop down onto the second ice wall below and keep moving left. Dodge the final snowball and drop onto the platform. A Giant Walrus is held prisoner here. Shoot the base of the chains to free the big guy. Don't worry, he's with us. As the Giant Walrus pummels the massive drawbridge in front, Fire Trolls will try and stop him. Defeat them with Deep Blue until some Troll Archers appear on the ledge above. Break the crates on the side of the arena and climb up to reach 'em. Kill all three to start a cutscene. Queen Thyra will appear and try to stop your herself. Dodge the green circles that appear on the ground to avoid getting stabbed by ice spikes. By now, the drawbridge should be knocked down. Cross the bridge and wait for the Giant Walrus to follow. When Queen Thyra summons some ice beetles, put them away with 40 Below's Frostbite or Ash's Inferno. Follow the walrus to the next platform and use Chilla's ice spikes to kill the Cannon Troll on the nearby pillar. It's all about protecting the Giant Walrus. As he destroys the ice wall, eliminate the incoming waves of ice beetles. Once the wall crumbles, change into 40 Below and break the ice chests for Runes. Switch to Major Ruin and dodge Queen Thyra's ice spikes. Use Rush on the ramp and shoot over to the ice wall. Change into Chilla in midair to grab onto the ice. Climb up and take out the Troll that drops down here. Continue up the wall and dodge the two beetles as you drop down on the platform to the right. Help out the soldier and use Major Ruin's Rush to get across the ramp. Boost over to the wall and climb up as Chilla. Finally, some shelter from those dang ice spikes! Queen Thyra will jump to another building. A small group of Trolls will enter the building as the side of it falls to the ground... make sure you aren't standing on it when it begins to crack. After using Chilla to toss the Trolls to their doom, Queen Thyra will create some Ice Trolls. These ones are equipped with two swords each and aren't afraid to use them. Use Ash to melt them with Inferno. The two Ice Trolls standing on the pedestal come to life. Use Flex to take away their shield and switch to Ash in order to finish 'em off. The path will open after killing the pair. Before moving on, switch to Chilla and look off the makeshift balcony. Target the two Cannon Trolls on the adjacent building. Proceed through the doorway and watch out for the two Fire Trolls that burst out of the crates. Aside from them, there's also a never-ending string of ice beetles that crawl out from a small niche. Run past the hole and go up the ramp. Use Flex or Chilla to throw the Troll off the edge and climb up the ice wall. At the top, defeat the Trolls running amok and free the second Giant Walrus. Once the big guy starts tearing down the drawbridge, some Troll Archers will appear on the ledge above. You cannot reach them like before, so instead pick them off with Chilla. Also kill the two Cannon Trolls on the wall above the archers. Finally, two Ice Trolls come outta nowhere. Set them ablaze with Ash and let the Giant Walrus do the rest. Pass by the Giant Walrus and immediately kill the two Cannon Trolls (one is on a wooden tower and the other is on the same building Queen Thyra's on). As the green monster punches the ice wall, protect him from Ice Trolls and ice beetles. The former come in pairs while the latter are in small waves. Use Ash to deal with both monsters. Once the wall is knocked down, the Giant Walrus hides in his house. There are two ways to go right now (both are equally easy, so the choice is yours): --> LEFT SIDE Destroy the three boxes here and climb up the ice wall. In the alcove, smash the other crates and look to the left to spot a blue plant on the wall. Morph into Flex and latch onto it to reach a ledge and another wall Chilla can climb. Climb to the top and then change to Major Ruin. Use Rush on the ramp and use it a second time to go rolling right through the window of the tower. --> RIGHT SIDE Break the crates at the bottom of the ice wall and switch to Chilla. Start your way up the wall as you avoid the two ice beetles. When you get to solid ground, change into Major Ruin. Use Rush to get over the ramp, then use it again in midair. As you launch over to the ice wall, turn into Chilla. Climb up the wall into the tower. Once you are inside the tower, destroy the Ice Troll sculptures (trust me, they won't come to life) and use Chilla to hurl the normal Trolls out the windows. When two shielded Ice Trolls appear, switch to Flex. Take away their shields just before they use their ice blast attack, then use Ash's Inferno to roast them. When the door opens, move through. =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- BOSS: Queen Thyra =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- Start the battle as Chilla. You will have to destroy all five of Queen Thyra's eyes to win the battle. When the queen dashes towards you, sidestep to avoid getting stabbed by her ice scythes. When her hands are stuck in the snow, aim an ice spike at her eyes. Whenever one opens up, hurl a spear at it. Once an eye is hit, hundreds of tiny eyes will fall onto the arena and begin to bounce around. Switch to 40 Below and use Snowball, then follow up with Wrecker. When using Wrecker, run into the eyeballs to knock them off the cliff. While you're doing this, Queen Thyra will summon ice spikes. Watch out for the green pillars to foresee the attack. Once all the eyeballs are knocked off the ledge, Queen Thyra will drop down again. Turn into Chilla and repeat the same process again. With the second eye hit, change into 40 Below and knock the tiny things off the ledge. The queen will begin to shoot more icicles onto the ground, and in a much quicker motion as well. Destroy the icicles to receive some Hearts if you are low on health. Once the second eye is toast, do the same with Queen Thyra's third eye. You know, the whole "stab the eye, then knock 'em off the ledge" technique. The only real difference is that Queen Thyra will open and close her eyes much faster, making it harder to target her eyes. She does open them in a set pattern, so recognize the sequence and hit it. When you stab Queen Thyra's fourth eye, don't bother changing into 40 Below: the eyes will jump off the cliff themselves. Why? I have no flippin' idea. But at least it saves you the trouble of knocking them off yourself. :) Queen Thyra may look blind right now, but not for long as she reveals a massive eyeball on her forehead. She hops around the four corners of the arena and fires off some ice spikes. I counted 14 spikes are launched before the queen opens her eye (as did MysticWeirdo, as evidented by the strategy in his guide). She only keeps it open for less than two seconds, so pull out an ice spike and knock her eyeball out. The game plan changes a lil' bit, as the large eyeball starts chasing you! The eye sprouts spikes and starts bouncing towards you. Run away as 40 Below until the spikes retract. Now that you have an opening to strike, use your Snowball/Wrecker combo to knock the eye backwards. It should take two or three solid hits with Wrecker to send the eyeball off the cliff. As shown in the cutscene, it's hard to fight a battle without any eyes. Queen Thyra accidentally impales herself with one of her ice spikes and, needless to say, the battle ends. =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- Kameo rescues Yeros and the two return to Snow Top Village. ---------------- Snow Top Village ---------------- After a lengthy talk, Uncle Yeros gives Kameo the ninth Elemental Warrior: Snare. Fully upgrade him and test out his controls around town. Instead of taking the Warp Gate, exit Snow Top Village to the Badlands. -------- Badlands -------- From your location, get on your horse next to the skull post and gallop down the hill to the left. Pass by the two huts and go north towards a third. Enter the house to find 40 Below's Alternate Skin in a cabinet. Ride towards Mountain Falls and instead of entering the area, head to the small field southeast. There are two huts here. The northernmost hut holds Snare's Alternate Skin (inside of another cabinet). With those two skins in hand, enter Forgotten Forest Glade. ---------------------- Forgotten Forest Glade ---------------------- Proceed to the north end of the glade. Go past the Scholars' Dwelling and through the tunnel to the bar. The Warrior Trainer here might be of some help, but we need to jog his memory a bit. Walk over to the jukebox and play "Precious Memories". Talk to him again to make some Magmites appear outside. Go outside and morph into Snare. Bite a Magmite and aim at the target above the door across the river. Spit the Magmite at the target to open the doorway. In order to do so, use Root on the water's edge across from the target. Move the Left Analog Stick back to have Snare rock back and forth. Once you've built up enough momentum, press the Right Trigger to spit them out. If the Magmites hit the target, they will stick. Next, use Chilla to hit them with an ice spike; the Magmite will explode and open the door to Ogre's Swamp. ============================================================================== 4.13] OGRE'S SWAMP [0413] ============================================================================== Before we try and gain access to the final Shadow Troll, we have to clear the area out first. Use Ash to eliminate the five beetle generators and Chilla to destroy the five mosquito nests. We must plug the three vents in Ogre's Swamp to open the gate leading to the well. In order to do so, we must get some help from the Ogre (who I thought would be a little nicer than this). He won't stray away from beating you to a pulp if you get too close. Instead, use the hornflowers to get his attention. Shake a hornflower and pick up the fruit. Throw it next to a tree with an open bung fruit to get the Ogre's attention. He will charge at the sound and bump into the tree, knocking down a bung fruit. Remember, the bung fruit will only fall down if the green shell is open, exposing the orange fruit. They'll open and close periodically. Repeat this strategy until all three vents are bunged up. Go down the path towards the well. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #98 Go past the well to find a dancing plant. Shake it for an Elemental Fruit. Go inside the well. ------------ Shadow Realm ------------ I kinda hoped the battle against the final Shadow Troll would be a little more interesting than the others, but I guess I asked for too much. The Shadow Troll will summon flying skulls that dive-bomb into you. They aren't exactly hard to dodge. Just... not walk into them. They don't home onto you or anything, so there is little to no problem here. The Shadow Troll takes four hits in order to be destroyed. After getting hit each time, he will use more skulls to attack. Now, two to three skulls will attack you at once. He will also use his familiar energy shockwave attack. Use your light energy on the Troll four times to win. Absorb the Elemental Sprite to acquire the final Elemental Warrior: Thermite. ------------ Ogre's Swamp ------------ Kameo agrees to finally face Thorn, much to The Mystic's chagrin. He seems very interjecting as of late. Thermite may be the smallest Elemental Warrior, but he packs quite a punch. After fully upgrading him, approach the caved-in path leading back to the main area. Blow it up by using Mortar, then Bomb. Ignore the enemies and return to the Forgotten Forest Glade. ---------------------- Forgotten Forest Glade ---------------------- Go back inside Creeper's house and open the dresser to find Thermite's Alternate Skin. Now use the Warp Gate to return to the Enchanted Kingdom. ----------------- Enchanted Kingdom ----------------- Go inside the Chamber of Living Portraits. See the giant statue of Thorn in the center? Bomb it with Thermite's Bomb attack to dismantle the whole thing. The Eye of Strength will be in the wreckage. Now head to the Dungeon of Eternal Life and take the portal to the Badlands. -------- Badlands -------- You will witness a cutscene featuring an army of Trolls. Ya know, I don't even think "army" is the right word for them. You won't be able to find a horse, so instead use Thermite's Shield technique to get around. It's basically Major Ruin, but better. Return to the house where you found Snare's Alternate Skin (southeast of Mountain Falls). Go into the hut south of here. You will find four Shield Trolls inside. Instead of using the complicated technique earlier in the game, just blast 'em with Thermite's Bomb attack. - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #99 Blast the stone chest in the center of the hut to find an Elemental Fruit. Exit the house and head to the west end of the Badlands. Enter the house where you found 40 Below's Alternate Skin. From here, go south to reach two huts. Enter the one on the right. Make your way into the tunnel and talk to the Warrior Trainer. Agree to play "Elemental Evil" for 20 Runes. You have five minutes to kill 40 different Trolls (they appear in waves of ten). - ELEMENTAL FRUIT #100 Win at Elemental Evil to get an Elemental Fruit. For the first wave of enemies (Plant Trolls), use either Ash's Inferno or Thermite's Firecracker. Take out the Fire Trolls with Deep Blue and the Stone Trolls with Rubble. Use Ash to kill the Ice Trolls and use Deep Blue's Spray attack to push the Water Trolls off the cliff. Afterwards, two of each of the previously mentioned Trolls will appear. Repeatedly switch between Elemental Warriors to finish them off. We have collected all 100 Elemental Fruits! Since there is virtually nothing else to collect in the game, I think its time to head out to Thorn's Castle. Time to follow that green blip again! Use Shield to roll towards your target, right through the Trolls and soldiers. Stop at the bridge and fire away at the group of Trolls with Bomb. Also take out the tank behind you with Bomb; it should cut its health down to size in a jiffy. Run past the rubble and continuously bomb the wooden gate until it is destroyed (aim for the cracks and holes to break it down easier). This thing can take a LOT of bombs before it comes crashing down, so be patient. Once the gate is out of your way, enter Thorn's Pass. ============================================================================== 4.14] THORN'S PASS [0414] ============================================================================== An Armored Troll guards the entrance to Thorn's Pass. We've only fought one of these guys in the entire game, and it was at the very beginning. I will refresh your memory a lil' bit: attack his unprotected chin with Pummel Weed's Creeper/Uprooter combo. Once the Armored Troll is stunned, target his chin with Chilla's ice spikes. Four or five hits will put him away. Deal with the small Armored Trolls and the normal ones here as well (I suggest using Snare's Lockjaw, it's a one-hit kill). After dealing with several waves of Trolls, the gate behind you opens up. Head on through to upset a pair of dragons looking overhead. As you proceed onto the bone bridge, use Chilla to hurl the Trolls off. You can target the two dragons as well, but they can be fairly hard to hit. Aim at the chains covering the drawbridge and destroy each one with Chilla's ice spikes. Once the drawbridge lowers, step across to view a cutscene. Great, a colossal mechanical Troll?! He destroys the bridge, crushing your chances of escape. No time to look back, we must move on! Spray the two Fire Trolls with Deep Blue and take down the pair of Troll Archers situated on the wall. Next, switch to Thermite and blow up the wooden fence to the left with Bomb. Thermite's Shield technique can protect him from extreme temperatures, so rolling around in lava should be no problem for the little guy. Roll down the lava waterfall and position yourself onto the rock island. Now that you're safe from the liquid-hot magma, turn into Major Ruin. See the ice wall across from you? Do the ol' Major Ruin/Chilla switcheroo to reach the ice wall, then climb over the fence. You can find some fire scorpions scurrying around here. They are similar to beetles, except they explode after being hit. Destroy the three lava pots with Thermite's Bomb attack; aim the bomb so that it lands inside the pot to destroy it from the inside. Next, walk forwards to spot a ramp to the side. Look above to spot a sealed pipe. Destroy the gate on it with a bomb, then morph into Major Ruin. Use Rush to roll into the pipe and continue through to the other side. You will end up in some sort of tunnel. Break the crates for Runes and Hearts, then bomb the wall as Thermite. The lava pots up ahead spawn fire scorpions and Fire Trolls, so dispose of them with Thermite. Clean up the stragglers with Deep Blue's Spray attack. Follow the tunnel, destroying lava pots and enemies (and any rock wall that gets in your way) until you reach a statue of Thorn's nasty mug. Use Thermite's Bomb attack to blow open its mouth, then jump through to exit the tunnel. Defeat the Trolls picking on the helpless soldier and follow the path to reach a circular area surrounded by wooden towers. Instead of aiming for the Cannon Trolls at the top, use Bomb to destroy the entire tower. Destroy the three towers and take out the Cannon Troll on the cliffside to the left of the nearby ice wall. Next, use Major Ruin to boost up the ramp and to the wall. Grab on as Chill and climb to the top. Climb up the second ice wall here and scale the castle tower to reach a small walkway. Switch to Major Run and boost over the ramp in front of you. Aim towards the small, curved pillar to your right. The pillar is shaped like a backwards "C". Boost up the curve of the pillar to gain some hang time, then use Rush again to shoot onto the platform ahead of you. A scene will start where a gate closes down, sealing you in with four Cannon Trolls. You cannot reach them (as Thermite) due to clumps of metal crates, so target them from a distance with Thermite's Bomb. They are armored and extra tough, so two bombs each should do the trick. When you are in Mortar, keep strafing to avoid their cannon fire. Once all four are dead, the gate opens. A few Trolls will run through to halt your progress, so kill 'em quick. Next, boost up the ramp and into the pipe with Major Run. Drop down into the tunnel here. Either use Rubble or Thermite to destroy the Stone Troll here, then move towards the bend. If you creep around the corner, you'll spot two Stone Trolls conveniently standing right under giant weights. Shoot the chain to drop the weights onto their heads, giving you brutal bonuses. There is another weight hanging from the ceiling, but no one to be squashed. Switch to Deep Blue as you approach the end of the tunnel. Five Fire Trolls will break out of the crates; don't even give them a chance to attack. Jump into the mouth of the Thorn statue. Before you exit, stand in the mouth and look out the other end. Change into Thermite and ready your mortar. An Armored Troll and his lackeys stand on the other side. Clear the area of Trolls before dropping down (once you do, the gate will close behind you). Since the Trolls cannot reach you from here, you are perfectly safe as you pick them off. The doors in the arena will release Trolls, so there is basically a never-ending line of them on the other side. When the coast is momentarily clear, focus on the Armored Troll. Batter him with Thermite's Firework or Bomb attacks, then target his neck with Chilla's ice spikes. The wooden gate will open after his demise and a zeppelin will fly off. Since the Trolls never stop coming, leave them be and change into Major Ruin. Shoot over to the ice wall and climb up. The zeppelin overhead will fire at you, but there's no time to retaliate. Shoot over the series of ramps as Major Ruin until you reach a solid piece of land. That robot Troll is still following us, it seems. A few Shell Trolls run out from a gate, which closes behind them. You remember how to fight these guys? Switch to Pummel Weed and use Creeper. When the spikes on the shells retract, use Uprooter to flip it over. Kill all three Shell Trolls and the others that follow. Try to stay in the center of the area, because the robot Troll will destroy a portion. Two dragons appear after killing the Shell Trolls. Slay them with Chilla's ice spikes and hurl the other Trolls off the ledge if they get too close. After a while, some small Armored Trolls rush out of the gate. The best way to deal with them is to use Snare's Lockjaw technique or Thermite's Bomb attack. The gate will open after the three miniature Armored Trolls are killed. Proceed through for a cutscene and a boss battle. =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- BOSS: Lord Drok =-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=-=-=+=- We have to go face-to-face with this sinister robot. First things first: I am not sure if the chandeliers hanging around the arena have any use. I tried to see if I can knock them
