SPOILER ALERT: Reading ahead of where you are in the walkthrough will
certainly spoil your play experience, and is not recommended. The checklists
will also ruin the surprise of what rewards are given for various
collections you might pursue while playing. If you want a truly spoiler free
experience, play through the story with no guide, then play a new character
using a walkthrough to earn everything you may have missed. Fable II
supports up to six characters per user profile.

=============================================================================|

This guide consists of a walkthrough, play tips, and a set of thorough yet
concise checklists of items that may interest you while you play. This guide
is intended to supplement the game manual and in-game help systems, which I
highly recommend you make use of.

The Power Gamer Walkthrough section is written as concisely and spoiler-free
as possible. The quests are listed in the order that they become available.
I point out collectibles as they become available, and recommend using the
corresponding checklists to track your progress for whatever interests you.

The Power Gaming Tips section is somewhat of an indulgence for me to share my
experiences, having played through four times. If I'm lucky my tips will help
you make more informed decisions and have more fun playing Fable II.

Fable II offers many sub-goals for you to choose from. It is important to note
that missing out on some or even all of these collectibles will not ruin your
play experience at all. For example, while the legendary weapons are cool, and
some may help you along the way, it is in no way necessary to collect even one
of them to have a fun and successful play-through.

The checklists are self-contained, so that you can use the lists to collect
items that interest you and skip those that do not, without missing relevant
information. I will precede each checklist with general notes, including any
relations to Xbox LIVE Achievements. I am not writing an Achievements section,
because the only challenging Achievements are The Completionist and The
Dollcatcher; the former can be earned by using the checklists, and the latter
by trading copies of the character doll you earn at the shooting range online.

A good way to make use of the checklists in this guide would be to select the
list you want to print, and use the "Print Selection" option. In this way, you
could print each checklist separately to use while you play.

(B) Walkthrough                                                       {WLKTHR}

(B.0) Prologue [Childhood]                                            {B0CHLD}
You begin as a child in Old Town. You can run back and pick up Rose's Diary in
the wooden shack that you reside in. Then follow your sister to see what the
commotion is all about. After the cutscenes you will be looking for work.
Perform each of the quests outlined below to collect the requisite 5g.
After collecting 5g, return to the peddler and buy the music box.
Continue to follow the game's instructions, and enjoy the story scenes.

..............................................................................
(B.0.0) Albion's Most Wanted                                          {B00AMW}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
The first quest you should take up is from officer Derek; collect the five
lost warrants. This will take a while and you will be doing some other quests
in order to complete it. Head down the alley and play through the dog intro
scene. Follow the glowing trail if you have it enabled, and pick up the
Warrant for Arson off of the alley floor. Just ahead on the ground is the
Warrant for Sneakiness, near the steps of the warehouse. The dog will show you
the Warrant for Burglary on the ground near stacked large crates in front of
the warehouse. The Warrant for Guntoting is on the ground across the street
from the warehouse. The Warrant for Assault is earned as a reward for the
Tramp's Treasure quest. Once you have all 5, return them to officer Derek for
the good of Old Town, or give them to Arfur to help further his criminal
efforts there. Either way you will earn 1g. The permanent results of your
choice can be found in the Consequences section [C00AMW].

..............................................................................
(B.0.1) Barnum's Image Capturing Device                               {B01ICD}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Barnum is testing his new device right next to the alley that Derek mentioned.
Strike a pose for him and earn 1g.

..............................................................................
(B.0.2) The Beetle Hunt                                               {B02TBH}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
In front of the warehouse up some steps you will find Balthazar, who offers
you 1g to exterminate the beetles on the second floor. As soon as you step
inside, Arfur will shout to you and offer you 1g to smash the boxes instead.
Either way you get paid and earn a tiny amount of Good or Evil points.

..............................................................................
(B.0.3) Tramp's Treasure                                              {B03TMT}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Pete and Betty are standing across from the warehouse. Pete will pay you 1g to
go and recover his bottle of wine from Magpie the thief. Betty will pay you 1g
to give it to her instead. Magpie is sleeping at the end of the alley. Sneak
up and grab the booze with note, then return it to whomever you choose.

..............................................................................
(B.0.3) The Love Letter                                               {B03TLL}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Across from the traveling salesman is a house where you will find Monty pining
for his love Belinda. Take his proposal letter and either give it to Belinda
upstairs or her mother downstairs.

=============================================================================|

(B.1) Adolescence                                                     {B1ADLS}
You begin adolescence in Bower Lake, on the bridge of the Gypsy Camp.

..............................................................................
(B.1.0) The Birth of a Hero                                           {B10BOH}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Collect the items from the chest at your caravan. I recommend sleeping here
for the bonus, then renting it out before meeting Theresa. She will walk you
out the camp gates and give you the (Bower Lake Tomb Seal). Before entering
the Bower Lake Tomb, explore the region. Priorities are the treasure hunting
books and silver keys.
-
Checklist: Potion of Life<01>, Silver Keys<01,02>, 1-Key Chest<01> (100g),
1-Key Chest<02> (Dog Tricks! The Bunny Hop), Treasure Hunting! Book 1 & 2.
-
Use the seal on the door to enter the old tomb. Dive down into the water and
proceed into the first large cavern. Meet the local Giant Beetles. Dig up the
(250g) and find the (Silver Key<05>) before moving on. There is a gate you can
open in the next room, with a chest (Mood Ring). Shoot the switch to proceed.
There is an immediate left to a room with a chest (Rusty Mace) and two dig
spots (Dye, 200g). Continue on to a watery area. Follow the tips and explore
to find (Brendan's Diary) and (Erik's Letter). Next you will come across
(Drake's Suicide Note). When you have all three, a dive spot will appear,
visible from the wooden bridge. Dive to collect the (Bewitching Augment) and
take note of Gargoyle<06> in this room for later. Continue across the wooden
bridges to the chamber with a shoot, strike, shoot switch. In the next passage
take the detour to the left to find two chests (Amethyst, Jet), as well as
bookshelves and a dig spot (250g). Finally you will cross a stone bridge into
The Chamber of Fate. Take note that the chest here can only be opened once,
and will give you your bonus items earned from playing at the game website
[www.fable2.com]. Step into the light to activate your Heroic powers, and
level up a spell to use on the switch; I recommend Raise Dead.

..............................................................................
(B.1.1) The Bandit                                                    {B11BND}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
100 Renown
Thag's Head
-
Head towards Bowerstone to learn that the road is closed until the bandit Thag
is defeated. Head to the northwest to find his camp. Choose to either give the
key to the slaver or set the hostages free. Or if you're a tricky one, give
the key to the slaver for the money, then kill him and set the hostages free.

..............................................................................
(B.1.2) The Journey Begins                                            {B12TJB}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Bowerstone Market:
Head to Bowerstone to arrive at Bowerstone Market. Take a left inside the gate
and dive down to the dive spot under the docks to get (Silver Key<06>). Enter
the furniture store in the northeast of the town square, head downstairs and
enter the cellar there to find (Silver Key<07>) behind a shoot switch gate.
-
If you have Fable II Pub Games XBLA loot, collect it from a gamemaster in the
Cow and Corset pub on the west side of the town square; I recommend earning
money and the (Championship Pistol) if you can. This gun won't be deadly for
very long, but it's built in Discipline augment gives a good xp multiplier.
-
Walk under the clock tower to begin a countdown of Theresa's arrival.
Spend some time working as a Blacksmith if necessary, towards buying the Cow
and Corset pub as soon as possible. When Theresa arrives, walk with her to
learn about the Tattered Spire and the plans Theresa has for you. Your next
story goal is to head to Oakfield, but I recommend exploring the Bowerstone
areas to collect treasures first. Head towards Fairfax Gardens and be sure to
get the 5-Key Silver Chest<06> (Potion of Life<02>) on the way.
-
Fairfax Gardens:
Go underneath the porch steps to Castle Fairfax to find (Silver Key<16>). This
area has several dig spots among the gardens. Go to Bowerstone Old Town next.
-
Bowerstone Old Town:
Make your way down the alley to the east and find a cellar entrance. Inside
you will find (Silver Key<09>). Next head to the warehouse, open the door and
find (Silver Key<10>) under the steps. The Invisible Hand house near the exit
to Rookridge contains (Silver Key<11>) on the second floor balcony. Next visit
Bowerstone Cemetery, and look for Demon Door<02> there.
-
Bowerstone Cemetery:
Kick two nearby chickens into Demon Door<02> to enter the Forgotten Keep, and
collect the three xp potions from the treasure chest therein. If you are
interested in Gargoyles I recommend learning the Aimed Ranged Attack skill at
this point. Find the shack in the northwest with (Silver Key<13>). Towards
the south is 1-Key Silver Chest<04> (Mood Ring), and an expression statue (use
"Vulgar Thrust") that opens a shoot switch for you to chase south and uphill.
Along this path are Gargoyles<14,15,16>, 10-Key Silver Chest<05> (1,000g) and
(Silver Key<12>). On your way out, there is another expression statue near the
first, to the west by the swampy area [use "Point and Laugh"] that opens a
door nearby - go inside to find an underground crypt with a chest (Dead Handy,
Dog Tricks! Play Dead). If interested, you can go northwest and shoot through
the trees at Gargoyle<13>.
-
You are now finally ready to head to Oakfield via the Rookridge exit.
You might want to upgrade your weapons and buy some healing potions. If you
can afford them, xp potions are extremely useful. I am saving my money to buy
businesses at this point, so I get by with the potions found along the way.
Also note that I did not backtrack to shoot Gargoyles yet, but I could have.
-
Just outside the exit to Rookridge is 5-Key Silver Chest<07> (500g).
-
 ------------------------------------------------------------
| STATUS REFERENCE CHECK:

 ------------------------------------------------------------
-
Rookridge:
Off the right hand side of the road is 5-Key Silver Chest<09> (Ruby). You will
come across an overturned carriage being picked by a shady character. You may
choose to loot the bodies or let the dead rest. Continue on and you will see
a walkway out to a round overlook area with a tall statue. Explore that area
and you will find (Silver Key<18>). Continue on the road and you will find a
Demon Door<04> that is amused by dog tricks. If you have five dog tricks to
perform you can enter and collect the treasure chest (Potion of Life<03>).
Recall that Thumbs Up, Praise and other simple expressions count. Next you
will reach a broken wooden bridge. Dive down and swim past the first beach.
At the second beach, you will find the entrance to Gemstone Grotto. Besides a
bunch of beetles, this place contains (Silver Key<23>) and a chest (200g).
Swim back to the first beach to find Gargoyle<22> and a sad, funny man who
wants you to go with him inside the Hobbe Cave. Besides the namesake Hobbes,
there are a few dig spots to look out for and Gargoyle<24> to shoot at on the
rickety wooden bridges. Immediately after the scene with your companion, when
Theresa talks to you, there is a dig spot with (Silver Key<21>), next to some
glowing mushrooms, before you step out into the stone walkways full of Hobbes.
If you start combat before digging up the key, I recommend clearing immediate
threats and returning to dig it up before finishing this area. After you climb
the ladder and exit, walk around behind the shed to find (Silver Key<19>).
Press on to Oakfield.
-
Oakfield:
Enter the Manure Manor house to find (Silver Key<24>). Gargoyle<26> lives on
the stone bridge in front of the pub. Activate the statue plinth near the pub.
Follow the road north to find (Silver Key<25>) among some bales of hay in
front of the Luminous Cottage. Head north and a bit east to find the sculptor
in a barn.

..............................................................................
(B.1.3) The Sculptor                                                  {B13SCL}
..............................................................................
OPTIONAL, REPEATABLE
-
This is an infinitely repeatable quest; there are statue plinths in various
locations, each of which must be activated to allow their use. The sculptor
will make a statue of your hero in the pose that you hold for her. You will
earn renown for each and you earn more for a perfect pose, and higher traffic
areas. If you fail a pose, you can return and retry for any location the next
day. The first statue attempt she makes of you in Oakfield is free of charge.
-
Fairfax Gardens 500g Plinth is in the fountain.
Oakfield 50g Plinth is in front of the pub.
Brightwood 75g Plinth is at an intersection of roads.
Westcliff 100g Plinth is near the shooting range.
Bloodstone 150g Plinth is in front of the pub.
-
Circle around behind the barn to find and shoot Gargoyle<27>. Enter the
Porridge Cottage to find (Silver Key<26>) on the second floor. Head towards
the eastern lake to find (Silver Key<27>) on its southwest bank, adjacent to
the road that winds up to the Temple of Light. Gargoyle<28> can be found on a
ruined archway on the northwest shore.

Golden Oak Leaf
-
When you enter the Temple of Light, you will learn of the ritual and be tasked
to build up your reputation to earn the abbot's trust. Head back to the pub to
find Barnum and complete his quest and as many others as you like before
returning.
-
After your renown is high enough, you are welcomed by the abbot and tasked
with serving as armed escort to his daughter through the wellspring of light.
Meet sister Hannah and enter the Wellspring Cave.
-
Travel through the sparkly cave to the central chamber, where Hannah will step
on a switch to open the first door. Escort her to this room and stand on the
plate while she collects water. Don't forget to collect (Silver Key<29>) from
behind the plate steps. On your way out you will face some Hollow Men.
Return to the central chamber and then the second path that Hannah opens.
In the second room you will have to stand on a plate up and away from Hannah.
This means you will be using ranged attacks and spells to protect her. My
preference is Time Control 1 and Inferno 2. Return to the central chamber.
Your dog pwns hollow men. Hannah loves it. Moving on, you will fight a few
waves of them, then a headless hollow man. Move on to the final chamber and
Hannah will bless the water. A monk arrives with bad news and this quest
becomes "The Hero of Strength". Follow Hannah to the temple.

Dash's Goggles
Barnum's Thesaurus
-
Barnum has need of your bandit handling skills in Rookridge. Follow the
bandits to the inn and wipe the floor with them. Cross to the wooden platform
and take out the next batch. Look at the wrong way on the tracks to find
(Silver Key<20>). Heading down the track in pursuit you will find 15-Key
Silver Chest<10> (5,000g) just before a third batch tries to mug you. Cross
the tracks over the water to meet and fight a gun-happy fourth batch of
bandits. At the end of the tracks you will fight a small group of elite
toughs. Gargoyle<21> is up on a wooden crane nearby. Speaking of things to
shoot, your dog has cornered Dash. Use your map and fast travel to Barnum.

..............................................................................
(B.1.6) The Temple of Shadows                                         {B16TOS}
..............................................................................
OPTIONAL
-
Head to the Temple of Shadows in Rookridge and accept the challenge of earning
your membership. Even on a good character this is not a problem to do and is
necessary if you want all of the silver keys or gargoyles. Once inside the
main gate, find Gargoyle<23> in the northwest corner high on a wall. Inside
the Temple of Shadows, beyond the chamber with the Wheel of Misfortune, you
will find Gargoyle<25> and (Silver Key<22>) in a round ritual chamber.

..............................................................................
(B.1.7) Sacrificing to the Shadows                                    {B17STS}
..............................................................................
OPTIONAL, REPEATABLE
-
Making sacrifices is only necessary if you are evil or going for all of the
expressions for the completionist achievement [Extort is unlocked at 100%
Evil, so better to do this now if you want to swing it back to good overall].
Sacrificing involves getting people to follow you [use "Follow" expression] to
the circle and pulling the lever. More points are given for monks of the light
and for your spouse. The special hour for the ultimate sacrifice is between
midnight and one in the morning. Three monks and your spouse will be special
enough to earn the legendary sword (The Maelstrom).

Find the ghost crying by the large statue. Use the book to learn the Seduce

to either break their heart with the letter or marry them yourself. If you are

the reward there is a free and nice quality house and (The Hammerthyst).
Getting married also gives you a renown boost as long as you remain married.

of the main storyline] you can participate in her final mission at the site
here in the gardens. It's cool, but like most things in the game not essential
for a fun play-through. Belle will give you a note with a clue for each one
and it is fun to guess where to go - when you get to the right region your dog
will lead you to the dig spot. Using the Quest menu and fast travel makes this
much faster in terms of your own real world time.

For the impatient, here are the solutions:

You will find the brothers Sam and Max arguing in Bowerstone Old Town near the
road to Bowerstone Cemetery. Accept the task of cleaning up their mess and go

OPTIONAL, REPEATABLE
-
Evil characters seeking to learn all expressions will need to reach 50% full
Good in order to learn the Laugh expression. Keep this in mind, you villains.
Making donations to the Temple of Light earns you Good, Purity and general xp.
Once you have donated at least 500g, you are eligible to make the harvest
benefactor donation, which means offering 10,000g between noon and one in the
afternoon. Becoming the harvest benefactor earns you (The Rising Sun).
The most cost effective use of this quest is to make 1,000g donations to get
25 good and purity points at a time. Potions are more effective for using gold
to earn xp - think of the xp here as a tiny bonus to the good and purity.

MAIN STORY
-
Return to the Chamber of Fate in the guild cave where Theresa will send you on
a mission to find the mage at Brightwood Tower. Exit the cave and go south to
the road east to Brightwood.
-
Brightwood:
Take a left at the first intersection and follow the path to a Hobbe ambush
and (Silver Key<30>) near some large horse statues. Return to the main road
and follow it until you reach a statue plinth in front of a closed gate.
Activate the plinth, then open the gate and continue through a Hobbe ambush to
find a second gate. Pass through to the Brightwood Tower where you will face
some Spire Guards. Fight your way up the terrace steps until you cross a patio
and take note of the inactive cullis gate on the ground. On your left from
here is a large pot like decoration made of four large demons. Later on this
thing will be gone and this is where you will jump down to enter The Archon's
Knot. Moving on you will find the steps blocked with flaming debris. After the
story scene, Theresa will tell you to return to the guild cave. However, a few
new quests open up, and so she will have to wait.
-
Exit the tower and take a left to access the area behind. Follow the winding
path of steps down and find 15-Key Silver Chest<12> (Discipline Augment). You
can find Gargoyle<30> on the tiny island tomb to the southeast.

OPTIONAL
750 Renown
-
Completing this quest removes "Red Harvest" and vice versa.
Retrace your steps to the main road and follow it to cross a stone bridge in
the northwest. Take a right and follow the road west to find a small wooden
hut with a man singing inside. Knock on the door to meet Giles. Accept the
task of bringing the bandits to justice, then head to their camp in the
south. After defeating the waves of bandits and their leader Ripper, Giles
will show up and consider killing Ripper himself. Choose to stop him for not.
See the Consequences section [C113CC] for more details on the results of this
choice.

OPTIONAL
750 Renown
-
Completing this quest removes "Cold Comfort Farmer" and vice versa.
Meet with Arfur at the docks in Bowerstone Market to learn about this quest.
Head to the south to meet the bandit leader Ripper at his camp by whistling
three times. Accept the task of killing Giles and his friends. Head to the
northwest expecting to be shot at. Once you have (Giles' Cellar Key) you may
either return the key to Ripper, which is the lame way to go, or use the key
yourself to access Giles' Cellar, which contains (The Enforcer). There are
three floor plates to press in the cellar to open access to (Silver Key<34>).
See the Consequences section [C114RH] for more details on the results of this
choice.

..............................................................................
 TIP: Brightwood Treasures
..............................................................................
Before you leave Brightwood you may be interested in Gargoyle<29> in the
southwest near (Silver Key<31>), and (Silver Key<32>) in the southeast near
the bandit camp.
-
At this point you should have enough money to buy the potion and book stores,
and when the (Treasure Hunting, Book 3) book is available, buy and use it.
Then go to Bower Lake to dig up (Treasure Hunting, Book 4). You can then go
to the alley next to the Cow & Corset to dig up (Silver Key<08>).

MAIN STORY
-
Return to the guild cave to hear Theresa's plan. Head to Bowerstone Market and
find Jeeves in the Cow & Corset pub's second floor. He wants 1000g in exchange
for the (Map to Lucien's Diary). Return to Bower Lake and head to the location
where you will encounter your first Troll. Ranged attacks and spells are the
way to go here - raise dead is also great against Trolls. Give (Lucien's
Diary) to Theresa in the guild cave. She will give you the translated pages.
Head to Brightwood.
-
Brightwood:
Follow the path south to meet up with Hammer and enter the Bandit Coast.
-
The Bandit Coast:
Carve a path through the bandits until you pass through a makeshift camp.
Farther down the road you will see (Silver Key<35>) off to the left.
Also within sight from here, off the road and over a short wall you will find
10-Key Silver Chest<14> (1,000g). At the next sharp bend in the road by the
cliff edge, follow the side path along the cliff to find the entrance to a
nameless cave with a chest and Gargoyle<34>. Return to the main path and you
will eventually come to the main bandit camp. Gargoyle<35> is hiding atop a
ruined tower in the camp. Beyond the camp gates lies the road to Westcliff.
-
Road to Westcliff:
Follow the winding path and defeat two pairs of Balverines. Just off the path
to the north is Gargoyle<36>. Proceed to meet the grieving widow. Take a right
up some stone steps and climb the spiral stairs. Look down to see Gargoyle<37>
and blast him. Jump down and follow the path across a wooden bridge into an
abandoned camp area. In a shed to your left is (Silver Key<36>), and in the
middle of the area is 20-Key Silver Chest<16> (10,000g). Proceed past Demon
Door<07> and through the freaky mist pond. Cross the large stone bridge and
then immediately to your right find a place to dive down. Swim to your right
to find (Silver Key<37>) on a small embankment. Swim southeast and around a
narrowing in the cliffs to enter a nameless cave with a ladder back up. Catch
back up to where you had just crossed the large stone bridge. Enter the ruins
but don't go into the Howling Halls yet; turn around and look up and to the
left of the archway you just came through to see Gargoyle<38>.
-
The Howling Halls:
Proceed through this charming tomb to the large chamber full of friends.
Dispatch your enemies and move around; look at the pillar and Hammer will use
it to open a new path for your escape. Cross the rubble bridge and look to the
right hand side of the room to see Gargoyle<40> up on the wall. Proceed up and
out until you reach a large circular room. At the top of the winding steps you
will see a recessed area with (Silver Key<39>). Collect it and exit.
-
Westcliff Camp:
You will emerge on a path a short distance from the entrance to the Westcliff
Camp at the foot of the Crucible. Head into the camp and make a left, open the
gate and start down to the beach. Ahead of you on the cliff wall you can see
Gargoyle<39>. Behind some crates by the docks you will find (Silver Key<38>).
Head back up and past the Crucible entrance, and wind around to the shooting
range. Along the way is a side path to the statue plinth. Participate in the
shooting range mini-game until you earn the (Red Dragon Pistol) for scoring
175+ if you can. This is also where you earn your character doll as a prize
for scoring in the range of 150-174. Using a flintlock pistol is easiest for
this challenge, and it takes perseverence and practice. Near the shooting
range is 5-Key Silver Chest<15> (Bewitching Augment, Diamond).

-
You will need to upgrade your weapons and look to your spell upgrades before
fighting through the Crucible. I recommend a Master melee weapon augmented by
the Discipline augment. This will help you earn experience faster. Also, be
prepared to buy xp potions of will between rounds from the vendors if you can.
When you are ready, climb the main steps and talk to Mad Dog. Don't worry
about getting perfect rounds your first time through this, because you won't
earn anything for it yet. This will become a repeatable quest later on. After
you win, exit the crucible and enjoy the scenes. Pay attention to the warning
from Theresa about getting on the boat; you will want to finish this section's
quests before departing.

Temple of Light Seal
-
Completing this quest removes "The Oakfield Massacre" and vice versa. Note
that this will be available whether you made donations or not. Go to the good
temple and speak to the abbot to discover that the Wellspring Cave is under
attack by the followers of the cult of shadows. Enter the first cave chamber
and dispatch the three highwaymen and the shadow worshipper that they are
guarding. I prefer headshots for the highwaymen - be careful of their thrust
attack as it is unblockable. Return to the central chamber and then on to the
second side chamber to face another trio of henchman and a dark monk. Proceed
to the final chamber to face Cornelius Grim himself. He will summon a pair of
highwaymen, then two waves of hollow men before being possessed by the shadow
and dropping his invulnerable shield. I killed him with sub-target headshots
before he could finish his lines. See the Consequences section [C119DL] for
more details on the results of this choice.

Temple of Shadows Seal
-
Completing this quest removes "Defender of the Light" and vice versa. Note
that this will only become available if you make sacrifices to the shadows.
Go to the evil temple and speak to Cornelius Grim; he will task you with the
slaughter of the people of Oakfield. Go to Oakfield and two cult of shadows
members will cheer you on. The guards are armed and fight back, but shouldn't
stand a chance against you. The civilians are helpless. Return to your brother
shadow worshippers when the grim deed is finished. See the Consequences
section [C120OM] for more details on the results of this choice.

TIP: For the sake of completeness
..............................................................................
Before you head off to rescue Garth at the Tattered Spire, you might want to
go back and collect some of the attainable treasures that I didn't point out.
These include 10-Key Silver Chest<11> (Slash & Burn Augment) and 5-Key Silver
Chest<13> (Slash & Burn Augment). You could find the Forsaken Fortress
sub-area in Brightwood to get to Gargoyle<33>, but I will point this out in a
later quest, and at this point the one Gargoyle won't make a difference. If
you have been checking in on the Fiction Burns and Potion In Motion stock once
in a while, and cleaning out xp potions and getting books you needed, you can
be in a very good position for "The Completionist" Achievement already.

Broken Spire Collar
-
Westcliff:
When you finally do meet up with Hammer at the door to the Westcliff docks, be
aware that in the next few scenes you may be drained of experience. It is
possible to avoid losing any xp, but you will have to be obedient throughout
to do so, which is less fun. You can lose abilities that you had earned in
this way, if you keep it up. This is perhaps the halfway point in terms of the
gameplay, so you will have plenty of time to max out your skills by the end.
-
The Tattered Spire : Day One
You disembark with a chatty gent named Bob. The guards push you around unless
you hold forward and A to move quickly. Enjoy the scene. You can't skip it.
-
The Tattered Spire : Week One
Your supervisor [or something] comes by to tell you about how things work here
in the Spire. Report to the Commandant. Exit the room you awoke in and turn
right. Explore the side chamber here to find a chest (Adept Skill Potion); the
contents seem to be a random potion. Move out past the doors that slide open,
and climb a wide staircase going up. Up ahead, look for another set of stairs
to your left, going up and away from the path to the Commandant. Take the side
stairs up and turn left to find another chest (Balverine Strength Potion); the
contents again seem random. Head back downstairs and continue on to pass in
front of a row of cells apparently sealed by magic. Bob is here and ready to
chat. Follow him until you see Garth in the last cell on your right. Press on
climbing several flights of steps to reach the Commandant. If you obey his
commands, you will not lose any xp. If you disobey you will be drained of xp.
-
The Tattered Spire : Week 38
After the conversation with Bob, a guard will approach with instructions to
report to the detention center. You will pass by Garth along the way - he will
describe the Spire a bit more. You will arrive to find six cells holding some
starving prisoners and a heartless guard taking a break for lunch. Your task
is to take over for him and watch the prisoners for 3 minutes. There is a
lever outside each cell that will drop food in for them. If you pull a lever,
you will be drained of several thousand general experience points and gain 30
Good points. Feeding them three times makes you lose about 16k and pass out.
If you let ~30 secs pass without feeding them, you will gain 25 Evil points.
-
The Tattered Spire : Week 137
Again you are summoned to see the Commandant. When you arrive you will find
Bob lying on the floor, babbling incoherently. Your orders are to take the
sword from the Commandant and kill Bob. Your options include not taking the
sword [10 Evil], killing Bob [50 Evil], or attacking the Commandant [50 Good].
-
NOTE: I lost about 70k general xp and my rank 4 Accuracy dropped to rank 3.
Totally worth it though - I'll earn it back in no time.
-
The Tattered Spire : The Hero of Will
You are summoned to see the Commandant once more. Notice Garth is not in his
former cell. The Commandant tells you to investigate a guard that has failed
to report in. Search the body to get weapons and 3 health potions. Set your
spells and bring your A game, the Spire Guards are non-trivial opponents. When
you reach the Commandant's chamber, you will observe a new shipment of men
arriving. The Commandant does not fight fair, summoning guards constantly. Use
your spells to their maximum effect and don't hesitate to use potions and stay
alive. After the showdown, follow Garth through the cullis gate. The fight is
not yet over. Shoot or blast the guards that stay at range and use magic to
quickly dispatch the waves that close in on you. When you finally reach the
ship and escape, you may well be out of healing potions - don't sweat it.

..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Find Hammer drinking at The Lucky Heather tavern in Rookridge. After the scene
Theresa tells you to take some time to recuperate before heading to the guild.
Travel a bit and she will call you. At the guild cave your team makes plans to
use Garth's cullis gate at Brightwood Tower. When you reach Garth and Hammer,
Garth decides to sneak around the back way. Follow him until you see that the
Spire Guards have the place surrounded. Defeat the lot of them and cross the
small stone bridge where you will meet another batch of Spire enemies. Repeat
this up and into the tower. When you reach the cullis gate, Garth will have to
charge it up while you guard him from waves of Spire attack. When the gate is
100% operational, and you get tired of killing Spire lieutenants, use the gate
and travel to Wraithmarsh.

(B.2.6) Stranded [becomes The Hero of Skill]                          {B26STD}
..............................................................................
MAIN STORY
-
Wraithmarsh:
You arrive in sad shape, and neither Garth nor Hammer got through the gate. On
the bright side, your faithful dog is with you. Once you are free to move
around, step inside the nearby house to take care of Gargoyle<41>. Then pass
under the sign that reads "Oakvale", cross some water and follow the path to
reach a house with Gargoyle<42> up on an outside wall. The path turns to the
southeast here. Follow the fork to the left and go into the house to find
(Silver Key<40>) on the second floor. When you enter the water you will face
your first banshee in combat. The banshee cannot be damaged until you slay her
shadow minions. Shoot her head to destroy her. Beyond the water the path forks
again. Follow the left-hand side uphill and across the wooden bridge. When you
come upon some broken ruined archways, look on the right-hand side to find
Gargoyle<43>, then climb the stone spiral steps and continue carving a path
through hollow men until you cross a large stone bridge and eventually fight
your first elder hollow man. Look to the left at the bottom of the steps here
in the semi-circle of small crypts to find (Silver Key<41>). As you walk away
from the circle of crypts downhill, turn around to find Gargoyle<44>. Continue
to make your way around to the northwest and you will face another banshee in
a watery area. Take the side path to the right through the fog and water to
find (Silver Key<42>). Return to the main path, pass the hut with the chest in
it and you will run into a swamp troll. Run around him at medium range,
dodging his projectiles and tunneling attacks, shooting his soft spots when
they show up. Continue on across the bridge, up the steps, and open the gate.
Defeat the hollow men and unlock the gate ahead, then enter the crypt passage
to Bloodstone.
-
Bloodstone:
Open the crypt door to your right to find an expression statue. Use the Pick
Up Line expression on it, then head up the path to find (Silver Key<47>) in a
sarcophagus in a small crypt on your right. Demon Door<09> is on your right as
you continue. You can't miss 15-Key Silver Chest<18> (Golden Touch Augment) at
the cliff-side overlooking the sea. When you reach the docks, dive into the
bay and swim to a tiny beach in the northwest to see Gargoyle<47>. Swim to the
southwest end of the docks to find a dive spot with (Silver Key<48>). On the
southern docks is a wooden loading crane with Gargoyle<48>. Head over to the
bard and then east on the uphill road a bit. Look to the south between the
buildings to see Gargoyle<49>. Follow the path east and look for a cellar door
next to the furniture shop. Enter the cellar and hit the strike switch on the
right and smash up the barrels to retrieve (Silver Key<49>). Now continue up
the eastern path and enter the mansion to meet Reaver. You will need 20,000
Renown to prove yourself worthy of his attention.

Complete as many side-quests as you like before returning to talk to Reaver.
I recommend completing all of B.2.7 through B.2.13.
NOTE: The Brightwood Tower quest will not disappear, which is why I am listing
it later in this walkthrough.
-
Once you have earned enough renown, Reaver will ask that you return (Reaver's
Dark Seal) to its rightful owners in Wraithmarsh. Fast travel to The Drowned
Farm and follow the trail to the entrance.
-
The Shadow Court:
Walk through the descending passages until you face some shadow hobbes. Keep
going down and use Time Control magic to run across the spike traps. Step on
the switch, then turn around and shoot Gargoyle<46>. In the next large room is
a breakable wall that leads to (Silver Key<46>). The exit gate is locked until
you defeat the waves of shadow creatures. After the gate opens, jump down the
hole. Continue to meet the crying girl and the shadow court. Choose to either
hold the seal and have your hero aged by the court, or give the seal to the
girl and let her be aged instead. Returning to Reaver will start the
Bloodstone Assault quest, so be sure that you finished all of the side-quests
that you are interested in first.

Captain Dread's Sword
-
Bloodstone:
Find the veteran pirate Salty Jack in the tavern. Buy him a drink. Hear his
account of a cave allegedly hiding Captain Dread's treasure. Accept the task
and head to the southwest edge of the docks. Chop the vines blocking the path
and follow the trail around to enter The Sinkhole.
-
The Sinkhole:
Take note of the silver key that you can't reach yet, then dive down. Follow
the passage to a large cave and climb up the wooden walkways. Enter the mess
hall and fight the ghost pirates. Proceed to the next room and smash the stuff
in the left-hand corner to step on the concealed floor plate, which opens the
next door. Climb the steps to Captain Dread's room and check the bedside table
to find (Captain Dread's Key). Open the chest to get the (Lever), then return
to the large cave and put the lever in place, then pull on it to raise the
water level. Jump on the ship and defeat the waves of ghost pirates and the
ghost of Captain Dread to get (Captain Dread's Map). Use the ship wheel to go
to Lion's Head Isle
-
Lion's Head Isle:
Find the first (1,500g) in a chest in the boat wreckage on your left as you go
up the beach. Kill the beetles, then swim out to a small beach with another
(1,500g) in a chest. Walk up the path and chop down the plants to your left.
Drop down onto the ship wreckage to get another (1,500g) chest. Head back up
the path and stop when you reach the dead end overlooking the large waterfalls
basin. Look to your left and jump down to find (1,500g) in a chest. Dive down
and kill the beetles on the central island. A dig spot there yields (1,500g).
Look for a dive spot (1,500g) and chest (1,500g). Swim behind a far waterfall
to find a chest (1,500g), then swim to the path that leads up and out of here.
Find Gargoyle<50> in the waterfall to your left. When you reach a passage door
don't enter - look to your right and drop down to get to (Silver Key<51>). Now
retrace your steps and enter the passage. Look to your left and smash the wood
to find a chest (1,500g). Drop down to the final chest (1,500g), then kill the
beetles and return to your ship and use the wheel. After hearing Salty Jack's
praises, don't forget to re-enter The Sinkhole to swim across, smash and grab
(Silver Key<50>).

Mutton of Eternal Hope
-
Find Toby in the house on the northwest side of town. For the first item, head
to the house on the docks, run upstairs and steal from the dresser to acquire
(The Mutton of Eternal Hope). For the second item, head to the house up the
street and again run upstairs, this time to the dresser farthest from the top
of the steps against the wall. Steal (The Wine of Forgiveness) and bring it to
Toby. For the third item, steal from the ground floor cupboard of the house
near the stylist shop. Return (The Sacred Pie of Kindness) to Toby. Next, get
a prostitute to follow you to him. Leave his house and walk straight ahead to
meet a man who tells you about Toby's scams. Knock on Toby's door twice, then
use scary expressions on him or outright kill him.

 TIP: Return to Wraithmarsh
..............................................................................
Head back to Wraithmarsh from Bloodstone to find the gate to the south is now
unlocked. At the end of a bridge here you will find 20-Key Silver Chest<17>
(Devastation Augment).

..............................................................................
 TIP: Archon's Knot
..............................................................................
Travel to Brightwood Tower and head up to where the cullis gate lies to see
that the big demon statue is gone and you can vault down from a crack in the
wall - jump down. Climb out of the water and turn around to see Gargoyle<32>.
Shoot the switch and proceed up the steps. Stop in front of the spike traps to
shoot the switch. Observe the candles' pattern to solve the spike puzzle. Hit
the strike switch and climb up and past the cage and expression statue, step
on the floor plate, and go back down. Use the Bloodlust Roar expression and go
back up the steps. Hit the switch and follow its movement until the next gate
opens - turn around and snag (Silver Key<33>) before heading out. Right next
to where you come out in Brightwood is a chest (The Daichi).

Open the sarcophagus (Looter's Note) and defeat the waves of hollow men. Fight
your way out of this place to find Granny waiting for you. She scolds Charlie
and gives you his birthday present (Gold Burden Augment). Alternatively, you
could let Charlie die and get (Charlie's Hat) to wear. You can fool Granny
using the hat and get the augment as well.

on the door. Accept the task of collecting body parts. Head to the Hobbe Cave
in Rookridge. Follow your dog to a dig spot, fighting Hobbes along the way,
and dig up (Lady Grey's Lower Body). Return this to the gravekeeper. Go up to
the second floor after speaking with him to get (Silver Key<14>). Now head to
Wraithmarsh at Bloodstone Road. Follow the trail to enter Twinblade's Tomb.
-
Twinblade's Tomb:
In the first room with a locked door, chop your way to the foot switch, then
shoot, strike, and shoot the orb to open the door. Proceed through to another
foot switch, then backtrack and shoot the orb. Continue through the opened
gate and step on the floor switch to activate the expression statue. Use the
Chicken expression, head to the right and step on the foot switch, then back
around and up to the next foot switch. Shoot the orb that appears and proceed.
Take out the hollow men in the circular room, then shoot the orb several times
to open the passage with fire traps. Get to the foot switch past the flames to
open the remaining door, then go through it. At the final room, look over the
doorway you came in from to see Gargoyle<45>. Open the sarcophagus to receive
(Silver Key<45>). Pick up (Silver Key<44>) next to the coffin containing (Lady
Grey's Upper Body). Break the wall and exit to Wraithmarsh. Move forward to
claim (Silver Key<43>). Now return to the gravekeeper and give it to him. Head
to Fairfax Gardens and enter Lady Grey's Tomb.
-
Lady Grey's Tomb:

your way out. Look for (Silver Key<17>) in a dark corner in the room with many
stone staircases up to the exit. Return to the gravekeeper and give it to him.

The Shelley Crypt:
Follow the passageways down until you need to jump down. Continue until you
reach and open the chest containing (The Stone of Myr'Bregothil). In the room
full of coffins, smash the wall to find (Silver Key<15>) before smashing the
other wall and proceeding out. Drop down and walk to the dig spot to trigger
three waves of hollow men. Up ahead the passage opens up into a huge cavern.
Strike the orb, then shoot it to activate a bridge. Repeat this to cross the
cavern. Stop at the exit and turn around to shoot Gargoyle<17>. Open the chest
to trigger more hollow men - be careful not to attack their leader out on the
stone bridge unless you intend to steal the gem you first collected. Once the
enemies are clear, you can approach and talk to the leader and choose to give
the gem back. The dialogue here is pretty funny if you care to stick around.

WARNING: Returning to Reaver to start this quest will take you through to the
final main story mission, I marked these as "CHAINED" for clarity.
-
After the scenes, follow Reaver through the escape tunnel.
-
Reaver's Rear Passage:
Follow Reaver through the basement rooms and across the wooden bridges in the
caves. You will be facing Spire Guards throughout. Reaver's dialogue in this
section is worth listening to carefully - very funny. Eventually you jump down
and look out to see Reaver's escape ship. Walk slowly at this part and let him
go first to see a great scene where Reaver kills six guards in 3 seconds. You
will emerge on Smuggler's Beach where Hammer and Garth are waiting. After the
scenes you will be fighting a great shard which summons waves of spire guards.
Look for the great shard to open its top and expose a white energy sphere for
you to shoot. Watch out for a charged up blast from the shard, which you can
see ahead of time as the ground glows beneath your feet. When the great shard
falls, there is more scene dialogue between the heroes, and Theresa teleports
you all.

NOTE: At any time, you can sleep in the bed to skip these activities.

MAIN STORY, FINALE
A Letter from Rose
-
You are back in the Spire. Advance to face Lucien. Use the music box to drain
his powers. With Lucien defeated, Theresa uses the Spire's power to grant you
one wish. See the Consequences section [C33RTB] for details and spoilers.
-
You will be returned to the docks in Oakfield.
-
Two of the remaining quests require large sums of gold; at least 1,250,000g.
While purchasing more businesses and renting out homes is the best source of
income, jobs are a good supplement and the most lucrative one is bartending.
Notice that the timing bar always turns green at the same fixed point along
the curve, and you should be able to rack up obscene multipliers. All of the
jobs are tedious, unfortunately.

Bowerstone Market:
Meet Gordon at the docks in Bowerstone Market, where he will give you some
items in exchange for agreeing to help his people: (Knothole Island, Vol I),
(One Burned Calorie Potion), (Assassin Gloves), (Knothole Knight Boots), and
(Solar Shielding Spectacles). Travel with him to Knothole Island.
-
Knothole Island:
Upon arrival at the Knothole Island docks, head up the path and into the small
town. I recommend buying the available shop, stall and pair of homes. Meet the
Chieftain in the small house near the grave stones. Follow the trail until you
collect the (Ice Key). Return to the town and head up the hill to reach the
entrance to the Ice Shrine; unlock and enter the shrine.
-
Ice Shrine:
Head up the cavern to an open area with igloos. Smash through the icicle wall
to reveal a hole in the ice, then vault down. Use the lever to melt the ice
block and proceed. Head down the left staircase to find a fun orb puzzle. Be
ready to follow the orb around and either melee, ranged, or magic strike it.
I recommend putting an attack spell in slot 1 for this purpose (e.g. Inferno).
If you are having trouble, be patient and keep at it. Here is the order:

Melee, Ranged, Will, Melee, Will, Ranged, Melee, Will, Ranged, Melee, Melee

The last Melee is up close to the lightning beams and can be tricky to reach
in time - again, be patient and anticipate this. When the beams are down, go
pull the lever. Return to the central chamber and cross to the opposite stairs
to reach a cave with four switches. If you hit the switches for a bit you can
get all four electricity beams turned off. Walk forward and pull the lever.
Before you leave, break the ice on the right hand side and vault down. Pull a
lever here, then climb up the ladder. Break the ice and look to your left to
see (Knothole Island, Vol II). Return to the main chamber. The chest in the
far corner contains a (Perfect Skin Augment). Pull the lever in the center of
the room. Now that all three blocks are melted, proceed to collect items from
the chests (Bandit Gloves), (Knothole Knight Trousers), and make your way to a
fiery cave. Vault down and defeat your enemies, then vault down once more. If
you like there is a path along the cave wall to your right leading to a chest
(Feeble Scar Vanishing Potion). Use the Sun Totem to be warped out.
-
Knothole Island:
Make your way back and look for (Knothole Island, Vol VII) next to the large
ruined tower along the way. When you pass under the wooden boardwalk, turn to
your left to find (Knothole Island, Vol VI) under the Warrior's Rest House.
Cross the boardwalk and go back up the trail as if you were returning to the
Ice Shrine and vault down. Head to your left and search in the trees near the
cliff edge to find (Knothole Island, Vol V). Follow the trail to the small
ruins and vault down to the graveyard. Turn left and return to the Chieftain.
Buy Greta's Cosmetics now that it is available, then explore the far end of
the graveyard overlooking the docks to find (Knothole Island, Vol VIII).
Return to the mainland to trigger the next Knothole Island quest.

Go to see the Chieftain again. Follow the trail to dig up the (Sun Key). Then
proceed to that stone tower you passed by during the ice quest; this is the
Sun Shrine. Unlock the door and enter.
-
Sun Shrine:
Head down the spiral steps and forward to a round chamber with a shoot switch.
Ranged attack the switch, then turn to your right - the switch will dance
around a while and then settle in front of you. Melee the switch and it will
cross the room and unlock a door to an expression statue. Use the chicken
expression to reveal another shoot switch. Shoot, chase, Melee to reveal yet
another expression statue. Use the laugh expression to reveal another switch.
This time Will, Melee, Ranged attack the switch to unlock the third door. Head
through the large sand and beetle filled cavern to find a little stream and
pick up a (Flame's Curse Augment) in a chest near a doorway. Slowly enter the
room, ready to back off when spikes jump up and hit the melee switch. The orb
flies back into the tunnel and becomes a ranged attack switch. Shoot it and
then turn back to the spiked room. The orb flies back in here to be shot again
two more times - success removes the spikes. Cross the chamber and ascend the
ramp. Ranged, Will, Melee the switch orb to unlock the next door. Pass through
to a large Hobbe hideout area with a chest (Knothole Knight Shirt) and a lever
to pull. Head through the now opened gate to find a small round chamber with a
breakable wall (Knothole Island, Vol III) next to a floor switch. Make your
way up the winding path, swim across the water, and look up the steps. At the
top is a floor switch, with a gout of flame that will fire down onto it, so be
careful. Walk across it to reveal a melee switch and a lever. Pull the lever,
shoot the switch and weave past the flame gouts to a gate on the right. Pull
the lever in here to turn off the flames. Walk across the floor switch to open
the door at the end of the hallway. Check the chest on the left for a pair of
(Knothole Knight Gauntlets) on your way through. Defeat your foes and use the
Storm Totem to be transported out.
-
Knothole Island:
Follow the path until you see a small round puddle to your left. Climb behind
the ruined column to find (Knothole Island, Vol IX). Continue on the path and
dive into town. You can now buy the Knothole Stonecutter shop on your right.
Return to the Chieftain. Leave the island to trigger the next quest.

MAIN STORY
3000 Renown
Storm Key
-
Knothole Island:
See the Chieftain again. Head up the path, dive and swim to your right. There
is a dive spot (Thug Augment) along the way. Climb the path and dig up the
(Storm Key). Follow the trail, swimming and up the path, then swimming to the
door to the Storm Shrine. Unlock the door and enter.
-
Storm Shrine:
Proceed until you reach a foggy cave with a statue of a lady holding out a
book - she is pointing to (Knothole Island, Vol IV) on the other side. Press
on and cross the stone bridge until you reach a melee switch orb. Strike it,
then follow to a small temple. Strike it again, and follow it across to the
second small temple. Collect the (Knothole Knight Armour) from the chest and
strike the flit switch, then edge around the outside of the small temple up
some steps to reach the switch at the end of a walkway. Return to the area
where you first found the switch at the base of the steps. Shoot the switch,
then retrace your steps across the stone bridge to another small temple. Hit
the switch here, then cross the bridge and ascend the steps to hit the switch
one final time. Pass through the doors and vault down.
When you splash down, turn around and swim through a small passage to a dive
spot (Untapped Potential Augment). Now swim to the steps up into a round room
with a breakable wall and chest. Proceed up more steps, past a locked gate and
into a room with a ladder to climb. At the top, melee attack the flit switch
and vault across to follow it, repeating this pattern until it floats up a
tube in the ceiling and appears on the ground. Climb back down the ladder and
strike, then shoot the switch. Follow it back to the gate and pass through.
Don't miss the chest (Energy Drain Augment) on your way to a room with another
ladder to climb. Cross past the air flows to a room with a flit switch above
some pipes. This is a bit tricky; move next to the locked door to make it a
bit easier. The order is:

 Ranged, Will, Ranged, Ranged, Will

Enter the unlocked door and pull the lever. Return to the now accessible side
passage to find a room with flit switch orbs popping into view. Use Ranged and
Will strikes until the door opens. Enter the passage and pull the lever. The
other side passage is now accessible. Climb the steps, nabbing the chest along
the way (Knothole Knight Helmet). Proceed into a huge chamber - show no mercy.
Push on to find and use the Ice Totem.
-
Knothole Island:
Take care of your welcoming committee, then look behind a nearby boulder to
find the last book (Knothole Island, Vol X). These are a fun read in your
items->miscellaneous menu section. Return to the large central area of town,
and make your choice. Consequences are outlined in [C52KHD].
NOTE: Dog lovers who miss their companion should check out the crypt near the
Cheiftain's house!

(C.1.13) Cold Comfort Farmer [vs. Red Harvest]                        {C113CC}
..............................................................................
This is the Good choice, as removing the strong bandit presence allows people
to farm in peace. Giles builds a large and beautiful home and acquires many
hired hands. This choice opens up a follow-up quest with Giles' son called
"The Blind Date", after which you may buy Giles' farm house. Buying the house
also gets you the key to Giles' Cellar, where (The Enforcer) and (Silver
Key<34>) are found. His 5 star Brightwood Farm rents out for a large income
boost.

(C.1.14) Red Harvest [vs. Cold Comfort Farmer]                        {C114RH}

This is the Evil choice, as removing Giles allows the bandits to have total
control of the region. Unfortunately, this means no awesome farm house to buy
and no follow up quests. Still, it's fun to kill tons of bandits, and you get
early access to (The Enforcer) and (Silver Key<34>) in Giles' Cellar.

(D) Power Gaming Tips                                                 {PGTIPS}
=============================================================================|

GOLD:
The best way to earn a fortune in this game is by saving up and buying all of
the businesses, then homes. You will get money every five minutes and not have
to spend time grinding the jobs for money, except early on to buy businesses.
The bartending job has the highest potential income rate of the labor tasks.
Having your dog as highly ranked in treasure hunting as possible helps also.
Remember to praise your dog every few times he finds things, or he might not
bark to help you until after you make him happy again.

EXPERIENCE:
One easily overlooked way of quickly earning experience points is by buying
potions. I can't recommend enough buying the Potions In Motion store for this
reason. With your owner discount and a big enough landlord income, you will be
able to have maximum abilities well before you finish all of the quests.
Using a discipline augment and running through the Crucible many times is also
a fun way to earn experience. The Fable II Pub Games can reward you with the
(Championship Pistol) which has a built in discipline augment that really is a
big help because you can get it with a new character as soon as you reach the
pub in Bowerstone Market.

COMBAT:
First of all, you should know that it is entirely possible to play your hero
as a specialist, using only melee or ranged or spells. Every hero should take
Toughness for the health bar boost. I also highly recommend Roll for anyone.
Earning Physique cranks up your melee damage and pumps you up - sexy for some,
not necessarily for all.

Melee Combat:
Try out different melee weapons. In the end game, a Master version of your
favorite weapon type, slotted with two of your favorite augments, will be more
fun than any Legendary melee weapon. With regard to abilities - I find that
Blocking, Flourishes, and Chain Attacks are always useful, while the controls
make Counters occur very rarely in practice.

Ranged Combat:
Try out different guns. Just as with melee weapons, you will find that your
custom-augmented Master firearm can be more fun than the Legendary weapons.
I find that using "Dextrous Style 4: Sub-Targeting" to shoot enemies in the
head is both fun and efficient. Together with a high Speed rating, you can
kill a Balverine with headshots before it can close to melee range. Seriously.

Spell Combat:
Every spell can be effective and entertaining, and you should really try
them all out for yourself. I prefer Raise Dead, Time Control, and Inferno.
- Shock : This spell damages and also stuns enemies, which reduces incoming
attacks as a bonus to the lethal light show.
- Time Control : I routinely use time control in levels 1 and 3, because
casting these in this order will buy you time to cast a level 5. Try using
the spell in its targeted mode for interesting melee attacks as well.
- Inferno : I use level 5 Inferno most often because of its nice radius and
high damage output. This spell works well in its targeted mode as well.
- Blades : This spell will home in on its targets and is brutal as a targeted
  attack.
- Vortex : This spell is a hybrid of damage and aggro management and is best
applied when allied with another player or story character.
- Chaos : This spell is an amusing aggro management tool that can turn enemies
against each other. However, the duration is short, thus requiring constant
  re-application in combat.
- Force Push : This spell is useful for pushing enemies off of ledges quickly.
- Raise Dead : I recommend this spell in slots 1, 2 or 4 as a fantastic aggro
redirection spell. Cast early in combat and your enemies will focus on your
summoned allies instead of you. Cast after killing some enemies and you will
raise the fallen foes which are more powerful. This spell does not earn you
evil points, so don't hesitate to try it out on a good hero character.

(M) Demon Door Checklist                                              {DMDLST}
=============================================================================|

Think of each Demon Door as a mini-game/puzzle. They contain fixed rewards in
chests in the dimensions that they reveal when opened. The order in which you
encounter the 9 doors is not typically the order that you will be able to open
them in. Opening ALL of the doors is a lot of work, and in my opinion, was not
worth the effort. Look at the rewards and what is required for each door, and
decide for yourself.

There is no achievement associated with the Demon Doors.
