To compose this I just took the item info from my Achievement Guide. This was done because that guide is very long, so I wanted to give players a more convenient item reference guide. Happily, thanks to the hard work of Raimaro this guide has been upgraded to include the official English translations of item, monster, town, and various other names. So please give big thanks to Raimaro for helping to add true support for the English versions of Blue Dragon to this guide! WARNING: The item list includes every item from the beginning of the game to the ending, so some spoilers are present. Japanese text support is necessary to properly display this guide. This guide contains much of the item information from my Achievements Guide, which can also be found on GameFAQs. The main purpose of this guide is to be a quick reference to all 390 unique items that can be obtained in the game. Here is what you will find in this guide: - A complete list of all 390 items that can be obtained in Blue Dragon. - How to acquire all of the items. - Detailed stats on all equipment items, including bonus effects. - Techniques to allow you steal rare items from certain monsters. Here is what you will not find in this guide: - Details on item related achievements. - A list of the monsters in the game. (Monster numbers are still included) (Please see my other Blue Dragon guides on GameFAQs for more information on these subjects.) B. Techniques for Stealing Items Here are two techniques that can be very useful for stealing items from monsters that only appear once during the game. The first focuses on monsters that you can run from, and the second is for monsters that you cannot escape from. "Steal - Run - Leave" This technique is very useful in stealing rare items from monsters that you can run from. It is most useful against the following three monsters: - Corrosive Poo - 太ウンチくん (012) - King Poo - 王様ウンチくん (013) - Gold Mecha Robo - ゴールドメカロボ (074) To perform this technique first do the following: - Equip all your characters with the Assassin skill Steal - ぬすむ. - Equip the Assassin skill Treasure Hunt - トレジャーハント to any characters that have it. (This is optional, but it can help.) - Optional: Equip all the Shoes of Hermes - ヘルメスの靴 (296) you have on as many characters as you can. Once you are ready here is what you should do: 1. Enter the area where the monster party that you wish to steal from is. 2. Engage this monster party. (A Back Attack is recommended.) 3. Once the battle begins use the Steal - ぬすむ command on the monster until you steal an item. (It may not be the item you want.) 4. Use the Flee - にげる command until you are able to successfully run away. 5. Leave the area. You must move to a different area, not just to a different room within the same area. Warping can also be convenient. 6. Return to Step 1. You can repeat this technique as many times as you wish to steal a potentially unlimited number of rare items. Unfortunately, if multiple items can be stolen from the same monster you will not always get the item you want every time you steal, but equipping the Treasure Hunt - トレジャーハント skill can help. NOTE!!! - Step 5 is one of the most important steps in this technique. I have seen many posts in which people are having trouble with this technique and in each case the issue was that they were not leaving the area. (Also, keep in mind that you cannot carry more than 99 of each item.) (You may also use the Loot - ぶんどる skill to steal; however, this can be dangerous as you might end up defeating the monster by using this skill.) "Steal - Reset - Reload" This stealing technique is less of a technique and really the only option you have if you wish to steal a rare item from a monster or boss monster that only appears once in the game. It can be a painfully boring technique, but it does work. To perform this technique first do the following: - Equip all your characters with the Assassin skill Steal - ぬすむ or Loot - ぶんどる. - Equip the following Assassin skill Treasure Hunt - トレジャーハント to any characters that have it. (This is optional, but it can help.) - Make sure that you are properly prepared to defeat the monster. Once you are ready here is what you should do: 1. Prepare a save at the closest point possible to the monster that you wish to steal from. This save is the most important part of this technique. 2. Find and engage the monster you wish to steal from. 3. Once the battle begins use the Steal - ぬすむ command on the monster until you steal an item. (Use the Attack - こうげき command if you equipped the Loot - ぶんどる skill.) 4. If you were able to steal the item that you wanted then defeat the monster, as you are now done with the technique. 5. If you did NOT steal the item that you wanted then use the guide button to return to the dashboard. 6. Reload Blue Dragon, and then load the save that you prepared in Step 1. 7. Return to Step 2. Unfortunately this technique can be rather frustrating, especially if it is not possible to save near the monster you wish to steal from. Still, as potentially boring as it is, this technique does work. C. Complete List of Items Before jumping into the list itself here is a quick explanation of the items in Blue Dragon: Blue Dragon currently contains 390 different items, which can be divided into the following subsets: Base Items - The 380 items available in the game when it was released. Rare Items - Eight of the 380 Base Items that are very easy to miss. DLC Items - These 10 items are only available via downloadable content. The eight Rare Items will be marked with "WARNING" in the item list that follows. For more information on these items please see my Achievement Guide. As of March 2007 three pieces of downloadable content have been released for Blue Dragon. Each of these are available only on the Japanese Marketplace. The New Years' Present and Super Hard Chip content both add one item each to the game when downloaded, and a second item if deleted. The Six Treasures DLC adds 6 items to the player's inventory and logbook. These six items cannot be removed from the logbook by deleting the content. So although 390 total items exist in Blue Dragon you will never be able to have more than 388 in your Item Logbook at one time. (DLC Items do not affect the Item Logbook achievement.) At some point during 2007 an additional piece of downloadable content became available for Blue Dragon. This content allows the player to access a special dungeon, but I have not purchased this content myself, so I do not know that much about it. Only first shop that the item is available is noted) Stolen from: A list of the monsters that this item can be stolen from will appear here - Some items may be in additional treasure chests, available via additional events, or able to be stolen from monsters not noted in this guide. - Unfortunately the game does not display prices for spell books that you already own, so I was unable to include any prices for them. - Unless an item can only be found by searching objects in the environment no search locations will appear in this guide. There are just too many! But you should still be searching. You can use the "Find" function to quickly search for a specific item in this list. Just make sure to search using the following string: "Item ###" For example, searching for "Item 001" would take you to the first item in the list, the Medicine - 薬 (001).
