Stealth tips

Well, this game is very difficuly, even on easy mode, so here are some tips to help you get past those darn guards!

-Always crouch. This makes you less visible, and also lets you move much more quietly if standing. You should normally be crouched all the time.
-Hug walls. By clicking the left thumb stick in while next to a wall, you'll put your back to it. This is a very useful trick for watching enemies around corners, and staying out of sight. In addition, if you're looking around a corner while crouched, and a guard comes, you can grab him when he gets close enough. Be careful, as this method is noisy.
-Stay in the shadows. Shadows may seem like just another thing the team who wrote the code for the game had fun with, but it's actually a good hiding spot! Let me be blunt, the guards in this game are stupid. Really stupid. Especially on easy mode. If you're in the shadows (You'll know it's sufficient when the light on your shoulder turns green) a guard won't be able to see you unless you make noise or touch them.
-Make noise! This may sound stupid, especially because the last tip just told you NOT to make noise, but it's a good may to distract a guard or set him up to be killed! If you make a noise and the guard can hear it, they'll be attracted to it, allowing you to move in for the kill, or sneak around them. There are several "appropriate ways" to make noise. Obviously rattling off rounds from your rifle will only get you killed, but that doesn't mean you can't use your rifle! By using the sonic grenade attachment, with a pull of the left trigger, you can fire a noisy grenade to distract guards. Also, you can fire a sticky camera from your rifle, and use it to make noise. Beware however, if you make too much noise with it, the guard will figure it out and shoot the camera. Also a good way is whistling. The guard will be drawn to wherever you whistled from, and if you're near a crate, loop around and catch him from behind! Your hand sonic grenades also work, but if you're out, you can always pick up a bottle or a can and throw it. Not as good of a result, but good none the less. Lastly, the Ultrasonic Emitter. This gadget is present even during the JBA HQ missions, and can shoot a blast of noise to distract guards.
-Hide the bodies. If you knock out or kill a guard, it's best to pick the body up and hide it the shadows, or behind a chair or something. The last thing you want to do is put a guard on edge from finding a body.
-Close the door behind you. This may seem pointless, but it defiantly helps. If you open a door and forget to close it, a guard will get suspicious if they see it and wander inside. It doesn't help to attract unwanted attention and get guards off of their regular patrol pattern.
-Turn off the lights, save electricity. No, but really, with the lights off, it becomes very difficult to be noticed. You can turn lights off with several methods. You can firstly use the EMP function in your pistol. This will temporarily turn off a light or another electronic device, and, minus the light, you're much less noticeable. This will only last ten or fifteen seconds, so be careful. Next, your can actually go over to a light switch and turn the lights off. It may take more effort that simply EMPing it, but it not only makes guards have to turn it on, but it gives you plenty of cover. Be sure you're not around when the guard turns the lights back on. Some lights also have a power source. By cutting a wire, you can dim any light permanently. This takes time, so make sure you have time to cut the wire before a guard sees you. Lastly, the most obvious way is to shoot the light and dim it permanently. However, with this method, it's noisy, and guards can very easily notice the broken light, attracting that unwanted attention mentioned earlier.
-Use cover effectively. This may seem obvious, but before going into a room, check the structure of it first. Some paths may wield better results than others.
-Lastly, mind the difficulty you're on. On easy mode, if you're crouching, it becomes impossible to hear you walking, but on hard mode, when you're crouched, that isn't enough. By moving as fast as you can in the crouch position, you'll alert guards, so move very slowly.

By following these tips, you'll be the invisible man.

Files, files everywhere...

Okay, I decided to come back with the locations for all the files. Lucky you. They can all be found on JBA HQ 4, but it makes it easier on yourself later if you sneak around and get them before then. There's only one file that can only be found on JBA HQ 4, and it's on the way to the bomb, so that's pretty easy. I apologize for the bad spelling once again.

Medical Files: Everyones medical files are in one cabinet, and they can be found in JBA HQ 1! Fun. Go to the medical bay to find Enrica there. She'll talk to you for a bit before retreating into the office. Pick the lock on the room that she just went into. Before opening it, crouch, use the stealth open and open it as quietly as possible. Slowly creep forward and open the cabinet right in front of you. If you're really quiet, Enrica won't notice. All the medical files are there. Now for the other ten files...

Enrica: I'm not sure which is which for all of them, but here's where they are. The first is in her office. In JBA HQ 2, sample Emiel's voice and open the door Enrica left you to do the mines through. Pass the first door up, and the hallway you come across will have a camera in it. Grab the pipe overhead and swing your legs up before going past the camera. This door will be Enrica's office. The passcode is 1337 (Yes, yes, I know it's Leet.) You'll immediatly see Enrica's back, so hug the desks to your right and squeeze between the desks. I've heard that you'll want to turn the computer off, but I never noticed a difference if you didn't. Do it if it makes you feel safer, and creep forward to lift the files. The others are in her room. Head back the way you came and go through the door you passed up earlier, and sneak around whatever way is easiest for you and break into Enrica's room, closing the door behind you incase Jamie decides to pay you a visit. Lift the files.

Emiel: After Enrica's files, there are two ways to get to Emiel's office. The safer route is to climb out her window and make your way to Emiel's balcony. Make sure to stay away from the safe at first and lift the files farther up in his office. Go towards the safe to trigger the checkpoint, where Emiel and Jamie will cme into his office. If you haven't sampled Jamie's voice yet, go for it. Hide in the shadows until Emiel comes and gets the blueprints from his safe. Creep after him and go into his room while he shares the files with Jamie, closing the door behind you. Quickly go into his room and lift the files. I'll even help you get out. Leave his room and close the door behind you. Wait until he's put the blueprints back and walked back to his couch before sneaking back out and scanning the prints. If you want to end the mission early, go back through Enrica's room and smooze her to keep her quiet. If not, wait for Emiel to go to his room and sneak out the front door.

Dayton: The first can actually be found in JBA HQ 1. (GASP!) Go to the gate right next to where the mine assembly will be in the next HQ mission. Turn off the lights for cover and hack the data pad. Wait for the guard to head back to the room and squeeze between the desks and wall, positioning yourself so that you can see the camera. Wait until Jamie comes out and leaves, and until the camera is pointing towards where you came in. Creep into the room and wait in the shadow of the machine right in front of you for Dayton to stop scolding the guard. Wait until that guard leaves and turn off the lights. I was able to pull this off once without Dayton getting up to go get the lights, but if he doesn't get up, it's better: creep up next to him and search the cabinet right next the the computer. He won't see you, so don't worry. The next is in the room right across the hall from Enrika's room. Pick the lock and close the door behind you so Jamie doesn't get suspicious, assuming that you're doing this in JBA HQ 2. If not, it's 4, and no one is in this room. Scan the files in both cabinets. One for Jamie, and one for Dayton.

Jamie: For his first file, see Dayton. His next is the only file that HAS to be found in JBA HQ 4. Get to the core area with Enrica's retinal, whether you had to take it or she was there to let you in. The first room you get to should have three doors (One being a double door) Including the one you just came in through. Kill or avoid the guards, and find the single door that you didn't come through with the data pad on it. Hack it, and Jamie's final file should be in there.

Moss: Moss's are the most fun to get. Get Emiel's fingerprint scan, go to the second floor, and through the fingerprint scanner. Moss will be there yelling at Jamie. If you don't have Moss's voice scan, now is a great time to get it. Wait until they leave, and sneak forward and to the left. (To the right is a retinal scan that you'll be able to get through to stop the bomb in JBA HQ 4) The first door that you'll see is Moss's room. Pick the lock, and go in. Don't forget to close the door behind you! Start scanning his files, keeping an eye on the window. Eventually, before you're finished, Moss will come towards the door. Don't worry. Finish the scans, because it'll take him a few seconds to get through the door for some reason. Hide in the locker right next to the cabinet, and wait for Moss to finish grumbling about you and beating on his punching bag. Once he leaves, climb out and leave his room. Moving farther on is a room with a camera. Get creative with the camera; sneak under it and wait in the shadows for it to move away, sneak around it through the room with guards with their backs to you, whatever works. Move farther on, and at the end of the hall on your right is a door. Hack the pad, and sneak in, hiding behind the open door. Wait until Moss leaves and sneak up to get visual proof of the bomb with the computer next to the guard if you need it, and slowly back away. Move in the direction Moss went to the door that leads to his office. Wait until his back is to you, and sneak forward, hugging the right wall to get behind his bookcase. Sneak behind it and up to his cabinet to get his files. If you don't have his prints yet, they're on the table behind where you were stealing the files, to the right of the computer. Sneak back to the door, waiting for the guard to walk away, and sneak out, squeezing between a machine and a table to get to an open window. Jump out of it and down to an unrestricted area, and you're in the clear!

Happy hunting! Follow these tips, along with those in my other three hints, and you'll have the Agent of The Month achievement before you know it! Good luck spies!

EYE see you...

Alright, bad pun, I know, but regardless, this is the locations of all retinal scans in the game. Once again, I apologize for bad spelling.

NOTE: All scans, with the exception of Moss, must be gotten in JBA HQ 4. Also, I put them in the order that you usually get them. Sometimes, you get Dayton before Enrica, but this is the order than I got them, so meh.

Jamie: Easiest to get. At the beginning of the level, you're given the choice to kill Lambert, or spare him and kill Jamie. Shoot Jamie. Your JBA trust is now all gone and you have to go get your rifle and goggles to have even a chance of getting to the end, but you'll have a better chance of getting the best ending, and you'll get Jamie's retinal. When Lamber finishes talking to you, just walk over to Jamie and scan his retinal. If you kill Lambert, Jamie is probably somewhere on the level, Then, just knock him out or kill him and scan his retinal. (NOTE: By killing Lambert, you have NO chance of getting the best ending, and therefore cannot get Moss's retinal scan.)

Enrica: Pretty easy. If she got killed in the JBA HQ 3 mission, go down to the furnace where you put the pilot's body and she'll be there. Scan her retina, because you'll need it for later. If she didn't die , and you destroyed the ship, she'll appear later on in the level (Right after the fingerprint scanner door) to give you your rifle and goggles, as well as open a door for you. I guess you can just knock her out or kill her to grab her retinal at that point.

Dayton: Go to the surveillance room where you uploaded the trojan virus to the JBA mainframe. Assuming that you're in JBA HQ 4, like I told you, Dayton should be working on the computer you used to upload the virus. Kill him or knock him out, and grab his retinal.

Emiel: In the final room with the bomb, Emiel will be in there with four other guards. Kill and/or knock them all out, and Emiel should be easy pickings. Then, snag his retinal, and go save New York.

Moss: The only retinal scan outside of JBA HQ 4. First, get the best ending of the game. This is achieved by saving Lambert, and saving both the Ship you put the bomb on and Hisham, or saving Lamber and one of those two, as well as having an NSA trust of over 33%. Once you've saved what you needed to and have the necessary trust, finish the game as normal. The SWAT team then comes in, and here's where you know if you did it right. The SWAT team will look into the room. If you just see yourself standing there in their sights, you got the bad ending. If you have your hands up, you got the Okay ending, and if you're not there, you got the best ending. Then, wait for the credits to end without skipping them, and you get a bonus mission. You show up at the ladder of a boat out in the sea next to The Statue of Liberty. Moss and a group of guards are on the boat, and talk about how Emiel was three hours late in contacting them (How convenient...). They decide to, rather than give the bomb away, blow up New York with it. Wait until Moss and the guards walk away, then sneak up to a small air vent on the hip and crawl in. Open the door on the right and turn right to a ladder. Go up it, and you'll see Moss's back to you. The quietest way to take hi out is to grab him. You'll also get a cool mini-fight between Sam and Moss, with you ending up breaking Moss's neck. Scan his retina, stop the bomb, walk out of the room and take a dive, you got your last scan.

Now go forth and scan my spies. I might come back for file locations, but they're a pain because there's so many of them. I'll think about it...

Scanning voice...

In my last hint, I told you how to get the fingerprints around the JBA HQ. This time, I'll tell you where to get their voice scans. (yeah, yeah, I KNOW I spelled some names wrong, but you should get the basic idea anyways...)

Emiel: Probably the easiest, right there with Enrica, just start JBA HQ 2. When Enrica leaves you to do the mine assembly, immediatly move into the shadows and pull out your microphone. Look at the glass of the hallway Enrica just went into, and you'll see two outlines. The one on the left in Emiel, and the one on the right is Enrica. They'll be having a conversation, so suck up their voices and get to those mines! You can't really get any more "daring" than this, considering that you need Emiel's voice to get to his office where he'll talk again.

Enrica: See above.

Jamie: I only really know of one way to get his. When going to Emiel's room in JBA HQ 2, Emiel will invite Jamie in to show him the blueprints. Right when he comes in, the second thing he says that begins with "Yeah, you're probably right" is the best shot at sampling his voice; right after he sits down. Be careful, because sometimes, he can see you in the back of the office if you walk too far from cover.

Dayton: Three chances I believe. During JBA HQ 2, 3, and 4. In 2, get Emiel's voice, sneak upstairs and break into Dayton's room (Close the door behind you, or when Jamie comes by, he'll get suspicious and come in.). He'll be asleep, and you'll probably want to grab the two files, but keep your mike ready, because he shouts in his sleep, and that's a great chance for a voice sample. In HQ 3, break into his room again. This time, he'll be awake and talking to Emiel on the phone. Wait until he turns into his room, and follow him in. Youll be ale to get a nice voice sample while his back is to you. Finally, and I'm not entirely sure abut this, in HQ 4, go into the computer lab and Dayton will be working on the computer you uploaded the Trojan onto. He may be mumbling to himself. Hopefully, he is, because that'll probably be your las chance at his voice sample, because you probably came to knockout/ kill him for his retina.

Moss: He's a little tricky, but nothing a great spy like you can't handle. Three chances, in HQ 2 and 3. In HQ 2, after stealing the blueprints, leave Emiel's office through the front door after he goes to his room rather than go to Enrica's room to end the mission early. Find Moss and follow him around until he begins talking to a radio or phone or whatever. Hide in the shadows in the corner and sample his voice. Lastly, two chances in HQ 3. First, after snagging Emiel's fingerprint scan, go to the second floor and open the fingerprint door. The first thing you'll see is Moss's back. He's talking to Jamie, so slink inside and sample his voice before waiting for him to walk away. The final chance is in the room before Moss's office. He talks to someone about the bomb, and you can edge your way into view and scan his voice.

Good luck spies! I'll be back with Retinal scans next.

Let's get them fingerprints!

Alright, if you're like me, you've wracked your mind around until you have to scower the internet for hours looking for all the easiest places to find the fingerprints. Well, I found the best, easiest places to get them, and the harder places to find them, if you're daring.

Emiel: Pretty easy. After Emiel asks you to decode the E-Mail, wait for him to leave, and then scan the desk to the right of the computer, where he so genorously left you his fingerprints. If you want to be more daring, sneak into his office and scan them from the right side of his safe. Don't let Emiel see you!

Enrica (Or however you spell it...): She's pretty easy too. Go into the medical bay and pick the lock to get into the room. Don't get caught picking the lock, or it's game over. Turn off the lights if it makes you feel safer, but it'll attract attention. Scan the area near the Microscope for her prints. Wanna be more daring? Break into her room and scan her night stand.

Moss: Lots of prints from this guy. I haven't tested it, but I've heard that his prints are near the scanner for the interogation room where you kill the Pilot. For more daring people, break into his room. I'm sure you'll steal the documents first, and when he comes in, hid in the locker. Wait until he leaves, and then scan the locker you were just in. What? You're even CRAZIER than that? Alright... Go to his office, where he'll be mulling around if it's JBA HQ 3, and, once you've lifted the files, turn around and scan the area to the right of the computer.

Jamie: This guy was most annoying for me. I haven't tested, but his prints should be on the nightstand next to his bed in his room. The safer approach is to go to the fridge in the unrestricted area. Make sure the coast is clear, and scan next to the handel.

Dayton: Easy. Go to the gate with the keypad that you went through to upload the NSA Trojan onto the JBA mainframe, and scan to the left of that keypad. Don't forget to turn off the lights so as not to be seen! I don't exactly know where his harder prints are, but I'm guessing that they're on his nightstand.

Easter egg; well, sort of

On JBA HQ mision 2, Note: this is on the XBox 360. You will see Carson Moss walking around the compund asking if everything is secure around the compund. Do yourself a favor and follow Moss for a while. I was just going to the server room to "check" on my old pal Stanly Dayton. Note: this is by the mine building machine. He talks on his radio and says,"Is anything good on TV?" He is asking if everything is as normal on the cameras. If you listen very close, you will hear the man on the radio say," Nothing but Carl picking his nose again. He forgot that we had cameras in the compound." I laughed so hard that I think I lost my voice that day!

Hints

Here are some hints for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent:

Your pistol has an electronic disable device, aim at a light or camera, press the left trigger and the light or camera will be temporarily disabled. You have to aim properly otherwise you'll have to try again.

Your machine gun has several attachments that you can use, here is what each what does:

Airfoil round: Fire one at an enemy and it will temporarily disable him, he will stay standing up and he will not move, making it easier to grab him from behind, kill him, ect. Firing two will render the enemy unconsious, he will drop to the ground.

Sticky shocker: Firing one at an enemy will send a powerful electrical shock that will render him unconsious and he will drop to the ground.

Shotgun attachment: Firing one at an enemy will kill him, it will not kill him if you fire from a long distance.

Sticky camera: You can fire them at a wall and distract guards, blow them up, gas them so they are rendered unconsious and if you are not allowed to kill anyone on a certain mission, you can fire them at a fish tank and attract guards and keep making a noise with the X button, keep doing that and the guards will eventually shoot the camera, the camera will make a small explosion that will break the glass of the fish tank and the guards will be killed by the shattering glass. The fishes will die but they are probably better off dead and free than alive but stuck in some crappy fish tank.

There are probably more attachments but I can't be bothered to tell you about them... Bye.

Bonus Level

~FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVEN'T BEATEN THE GAME, DO NOT READ THIS~
There is an actual last level of the game. Some of you might not have found it because in order to play it you must NOT kill Lambert. If you killed Lambert you know that after you difuse Emile's bomb the SWAT arrive and capture you. Well, in order to get the last level you MUST NOT kill Lambert. After finishing the level the credits come up, so it seems the game is over, but it isn't. I waited through the credits but you might be albe to just skip them. Just to be safe save before the SWAT arrive so if you skip the credits and the level doesn't load then you can simply load the game and not have to redo the level. After the credits you see the "Checkpoint" screen come up and the last level begins. It's a simple level really and once you complete it you get an acheivement.
