Missing Pet that's not actually missing?

Missing Pet that's not actually missing?

So My pet ran away, I reported it missing, and it turned up next to my sim away from the house. I tried clicking it but it won't let me. The cat has come home and is in the house, but it still shows up as missing. I can't click it at all, but it's there walking around and meowing and eating it's food. My sims don't have any negative moodlets from the missing pet, and even though the screen says to report it missing (again) I don't have that option under the drop down menu. I've tried quitting and coming back to it twice but it's still glitching. Any suggestions?

This sounds like a bug. You will probably have better luck submitting an official help request at the game website.
