How do you adopt a pet/child?
My Sim can't have children because he's a male..
Is there anyway I can adopt children and a pet at the same time?

Adoption is accomplished via the PC or phone - but there are rules that the game uses for which Sims can adopt. I am pretty sure it requires a couple.
