Where did my gems go?

Question for The Sims 3 Pets
Where did my gems go? When I send a gem to get cut it just disappears! I looked in my backpack, mailbox, and household items, and it wasn't there. Same when I send a fish to get mounted... Someone help me? Where did it go?

Sweet! Haha, I didn't wait long enough. The next day a different mail lady came and dropped it off (x The special cuts take longer.
