I've been trying to do this myself. You hit the BACK button, it's on the oppisite side of the START button. When you hit it go to the house that says BUILD AND BUY mode. When your there click a piece of furniture to move it, sell it, etc. Click X to go to the catalog.(TIP: if you want to build a room upstairs or go upstairs, click RT and the UP button below the JOYSTICK.)

Thank you so much! Its been real tuff trying to "take turns" sleeping on the couch, mom and dads bed, and the ONE kid sized bed. On top of that the wife keeps burning down our kitchen tops... Sorry for the loaded paragraph I'm just so happy I can make extra rooms and buy beds!!!

"Hit the BACK button which is the < button on your controller to the left of the Xbox 360 logo. Go into buy/build mode and hit X to open the catalog. Buy your stuff and if you want to change the colors, back out of the catalog and hit Y to open the panel on the right side where you'll see a customize option." -annoynomous (Extra help of you don't understand!!
