Delete items in your household inventory. Delete large unwanted items; they take up the most space. Also delete useless decorations like magazines and blinds all over your house. You could also move into the largest house because I think it will allow you to place more objects. (I hate the fire meter)

make a smaller but more modern house so that way you can add more stuff into it. if you know how to contrast your home you will be able to make it look bigger without it actually having to be.

Hello. I know I'm a few years late but I've recently started playing sims 3 again and noticed my fire meter growing. I tried all the other suggestions with little success and was about to quit when I decided to sell the food I had harvested. After doing so my fire meter dropped drastically. I hope this helps

Remove too many walls or fences as you can to lower the fire meter Smile

If you have other games like I did if you just delete them but not the one you like to use it goes down quite a bot

There needs to be something you can buy to add space, like a sculpture that adds a little to you fire meter everyday

Why on earth did you add a fire meter it spoils the whole game. Why should we have to demolish a beautiful house you've designed because of that dam fire meter. I've been doing this game for at least 4 years and I know so many cheats I've learnt myself , except how do get rid of the fire meter. It wants blowing up its spoiling this game.

It does work if you save and quit, you fire meter can't be completely filled it needs to have a little open space for it to work I do it all the time trust me it work for xbox 360 irk about other consoles though

Well it didn't ! This is bullshit
Guest answered:

If you have a house in one if the larger lots you can add more stuff with out taking up space on the fire meter. Also, if you have a little bit of space on your meter (it may only work for xbox360) and you leave (back to the active game screen, not the starting screen) and go back to build and buy mode, it should go down a little. Hope this helps!😄

I literally deleted everything in my house and my fire meter didn't go down

In Sims3 on XBOX360, the quit & save thing DOES work. I have never tried it like that, but I have noticed that it is true. Whenever I start a house (whether it is on my game/console or someone else's,) after saving and coming back to it, the meter goes down a little bit probably because the game can't generate properly if the meter is too high. The game automatically does NOT let you set your house on fire like you can with other Sims games.
Depending on what you want to design your house like, you can delete/sell certain things in one click with the SLEDGEHAMMER in the Build & Buy section. You may find a garden, trees, ect that you can delete that automatically come with a new house.
If you deleted everything in your house and your meter is still full and apparently this didn't work for you, then your game is either glitched or you did not sell everything that you could have.
The fire meter depends on the exterior & interior of your house. If your house is larger, the less you can put inside of it. If your house is smaller, the more you can put inside of it.
I hope this helps people. I play this game all the time, play with many of my friends, and on their consoles. I have been playing this game almost non-stop for a very long time.
However, I HAVE A QUESTION!
I make all different types of houses/families because then you really can do everything in the game. I made the richest family that I have ever made with a large house, but am having trouble putting anything in my house. I am half way there! I have made huge houses with the exterior being over 200k-300k unfurnished but I can't seem to understand why the richest family I have made is only just over 100k unfurnished and I used a very expensive exterior design. I am not sure why this is, but I am trying to find some kind of cheat or something for this certain 'rich' family file that I have made to reduce the fire meter even just buy a little. I am going to try the whole quit & save thing and see if it consistently reduces it or not, but if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear!!

All you need to do is do the following glitch.
First go onto the build mode if the bar is all full that is good it will not work otherwise.
After that go straight from the build mode onto the town map.
Stay on the map for 2 minutes then go onto the live mode.
Next you have to go onto the build mode again.
Now go straight from the build mode into the town map .
This time stay on the town map for 12 minutes exactly.
Then go onto live mode.
Tell all the sims to do two things ONLY.
Then go onto the build mode.
And the fire meter shouldn't have gone yet.
But after that do the whole thing again.
This works for me 100%.
All the time and it will definitely work fine for all you guys too.
Leave a like me tell me if it works or not.
Love you all!!!!!!!!!😍😍😍
