I downloaded the exopansion and everything, But I never got a marker. I looked in the middle of the lake but the portal never appeared. What's wrong?

You need to wait 24 hours in game time then a sign will appear saying 'a strange door has opened in niben bay' or something like that then there will be a marker.

Yes you need to wait 24 hours but you also have to have the update for it. It wont appear if you don't.
