Question for The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles

Is this game the same as oblivion because I don't want to go through the part were you have to stop oblivion. My point, is how do you start off.

You hav 2 wait 24 hours in game time and then a message will appear(its not the same as oblivion, you get lots of quests and new food, armour & weapons)

Start, then wait 24hours then you'll get a messege to start the Shivering Isles quest.

All it contains is a door to an island. You use your current character to play so you don't have to start over.
