Question for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
On the mage's guild quest for the "ring of burden" I went into the well behind the house and grabbed the ring, but I didn't have a feather potion on me at the time, so I dropped the ring and left. I played several different quests, but I finally returned to the well in order to complete the "ring of burden" quest, but when I got there, the body and the ring had dissapeared. The quest marker shows the ring is next to the wall by the ladder exit but I can't find it at all. How do I get the recommendation?

I did the same. You don't have to get the ring after all. When you go back into the mages guild, you have to talk to a lizard person(forgot name) and she says the guy who give you the quest has gone. So she writes your letter
