Question for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Does this happen to everyone because am doing the shrine to get the umbra sword after I get the sword I travel back to the shrine talk to the statue and keep the sword.
After I did that seconds later the game always freezes it always does that on the umbra quest.

Try clearing your xbox 360 cache by holding a when you start game, or just load a different save

I had the same problem.Either just don't give it to him(it stays weightless this way) or give it to him and see what happens or try cleaning the disk and re-surface it.If this doesn't work try it again and clean the cache before you do(hold A when you turn your 360 on).I also heard that if you give him the sword and immediately drop the masque it'll work.If this doesn't work then you just have to get by without completing this quest.

I get this as well. I have looked into it and could find no way to fix this. You'll just have to carry on without the quest.

That's a glitch in the game. Fixed by downloading the patch from Xbox Live. Just connect to Xbox Live, start the game, and you'll be prompted to download. It's free, so go ahead.

you have to go and get the sword before you go to the shrine because the dog in your inventory is a glitch.If you cannot restart shrine quest you could try teleporting to a nearby city as soon as the dog starts talking and when you arrive if he is still talking fast-travel again and again until he finishes and it shouldn't crash(well it didn't for me anyway).Also don't keep the sword because it weighs 45lbs if you do decide to keeep it. the Mask is cool you get +20 personality
