Question for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I am on the cure vampirism quest and am running into a small problem. The witch has asked me to get 5 Empty Grand Soul Gems. I already have them in my inventory. When I try to talk to her she attacks and I have to beat her up until she stops. Is there a difference between Grand Soul Gems and empty Grand Soul Gems. Now if there is a difference how can I find the empty one's or make the one's I have empty. I thank you ahead of time for your help.

There is no item called "Empty Grand Soul Gem" only regular grand soul gems with a soul level of "None" are considered empty. I don't have any idea why she would attack you unles you stole the gems you tried to give to her. Gems that have soul levels in them can't be set back to empty. They can only be used up by recharging items and then they dissappear.
