If you are good at lockpick/theiving then there is an alternative very easy way to get empty grand and greater soul gems. Fast-travel to chorrol and go to the mages guild. Then wait until night time and lockpick the display cases the hard or very hard ones and you can get them easily but it will take determination and perseverence.
