Question for The Adventures of Tintin

Did the screen writers come to Honolulu to study the 1929 Bellanca Pacemaker currently being flown by Hawaiian Airlines?

Do those of us that fly her have bragging rights in this respect?

I cannot answer your question fully but I am fascinated by that airplane and as a result I did some research. It is more likely that the animators traveled to lithuania to study the replica of the Lituanica:

The paint scheme and cowling cover are identical, they just stuck floats on the airplane in the movie (and added machine guns). Interestingly enough, this airplane is on Lithuanian currency.
