Thanks for this.
Just needed the word COMMAND to figure out how to solve it.
Weevil answered:

In the puzzle screen, click the S. Import the 2 documents from the Spartaca Encyclopaedia: Animals (from Pet Shop) & Plants and Spices (from Barnes' bookstore).
Now at the bottom of the screen are Roman numerals, from I to XXVI, representing the alphabet.

Look at the coded message. There are Roman numerals under the spaces that need to be filled. But there doesn't seem to be any X's there, right?
So, assuming that any V or / can be either a X or V (and knowing the basic rules about Roman numerals)...
I, II and III can't be interpreted any other way, and would be A, B and C, respectively.
/ can be either V or X (E or J). Taking into account the letter possibilities on either side, E must be the correct choice (for first word).
V / can be either XX or XV (T or O). VIII can be either H or M (XIII). VI / can be either XIV or XIX (N or S). I / can be either IV or IX (D or I).
Splitting the second word into two halves, and writing out all letter combinations, COMM+AND is the most logical assumption.

And so on...
Once you solve the first two words, you can practically guess the third and fourth words, then make an educated guess for the last two words.

Argh! All my backslashes (in front of /) are deleted!
Now my forward slashes (/) have no meaning, and don't represent the "V" shape with a gap in between.
