Sunnyvale Tagging Location Problem

I found the tagging location in Sunnyvale, but whenever I try to tag it the buttons I need to push don't show up on the screen. This has happened before, though I've managed to figure out the buttons to push by myself. This one won't budge at all. The first two buttons are 'A', but I've tried every single button and thimbstick control and it just won't work. Does anybody know how to complete the tag?

When that happens to me I just press the "A" button as fast as I can untill the tagging is complete.
