How do you save I go to sleep some where and it doesn't say saving game and also does cheats interfere with saving??

Cheats does interfere with saving. Turn them off. It says that saving is turned off when you enter the cheats menu. It's actually a warning that you can't get achievements when cheats are activated and saving is turned off.

The game autosaves -- it is supposed to autosave after significant events and when you drop to the main menu, but there are reports that it does not always do so. There is no action you can take to force it to save.
