Question for Ninja Gaiden 2

Hi I can't pass chapter 1 in mentor because of the bloody ninjas who keeps firing rockets and bullets can you guys give some hints how to defend against them.

When they fire the rocket thing or what ever it is, dodge the attack and use R2+forward+A and try to hit them.
