Is there anywhy else to get gunpowder besides killing a creeper

You can find Gunpowder on Peaceful by finding a Monster Spawner underground. (Note: When you see cobblestone with green on it/Moss stone) then this is a sign that you are either in a monster spawner or right next to one) also don't worry Monsters will not spawn in them on peaceful.

Gun Powder is obtainable in three ways.

Kill a Creeper. I know you don't like this, but a bow and some arrows allow you to attack from a distance (even a safe height), also you could build a mob grinder.

Kill a Ghast. This is even more difficult. They fly, they shoot explosives, their drops can fall in lava or fire, and they have a range better than your bow.

Find it in a dungeon chest. Dungeons spawn underground (and sometimes at the surface) and are the only place where Mossy Cobblestone is found. Cobblestone is also found making the walls and other than lava flows touching water is the only place it spawns naturally. Dungeons can be found while exploring caverns. If you play on anything other than peaceful, you can listen for mob sounds while exploring but have to worry about the monster spawner (you can disable it with light). Not all dungeon chests will have gun powder.
