Stuck on Disc 1 - embarrassed

OK. I give up.
I just cannot kill the second Bogimoray at Grand Staff on Disc 1.
Kaim and Seth are on Lv17, Janssen also on Lv17 and has the Yellow Band anti-paralysis enhancement. I eventually found the 20 seeds I needed to give Kaim the Sword of Adamantis, they go into the battle with full HP anti-paralysis herbs and spells available. I can get past the first Bogimoray with the HP hardly touched for any of them, but as soon as the second one paraflares and they get paralysed it's the beginning of the end.
I see that Kaim and Seth supposed to learn anti-paralysis but I just can't get them to do it. They both have an empty skill slot and are linked to Janssen. They have fully learnt everything from him (Kaim Black and White magic, levels 1 and 2, Factual Analysis, Crisis Defence Boost, Stealing. Seth Black and White magic, level 1, Factual Analysis, Crisis Defence Boost, Stealing).
I've had them fight just about everything again this morning, to see if they will learn anti-paralysis, but no joy.
Formation is standard: Front Kaim (Sword of Adamantis, Adamantis Ring,Apprentice's Earrings) and Seth (White Fang, Flame Ring,Holy Knight charm), Rear Janssen (Saints Staff, Osmosis Ring, Yellow Band).

One thing strange. Inval1d's great walkthrough says paraflare
should cause 200 HP to the group. 'm getting 500 - 600. I'm obviously doing something wrong but can't see it!

I'm starting to lose my reason a bit over this :-) so any advice greatly appreciated!

Comment:(May 18 2008) Yep, thanks ds. I was just under-levelled. (Just difficult finding enough battles to level up. Boy does that change later on!).

Firstly if you equip Kiam and Seth with the Yellow Band they should learn that skill when you have aquired the specific amount of SP. Then once one has learnt the skill click on the empty skill slot and select Anti-paralysis. Then give the yellow band to the other immortal. Once both have learnt the skill give the Yellow Band to Jenson as he cannot learn any skills from accessories.

I had abit of trouble defeating this enemy so I went on a leveling mission and got my characters to level 19. Then give Kiam the ring that is effective against organic enemies. Now he should be able to take out one of the little insects in one perfect hit. Get Jensen to do the magic attack that attacks two enemies at once and get Seth to attack another little one. Leave the big one till last.
The tatic off removing the power source works, because the beast needs the little ones to asborb energy to power the Paraflare.
Have all the bombs, eg grounda bomb, for Seth to use against the big beast because she is weak against it.
If you have equiped everyone with Anti paralysis then when the second one comes along this will not do much. Use Seth for the healing, items and spells.
Then as each the big beast brings back the little ones take them out while bringing down the beasts health.

You have the formation right just make sure to equip them all with the Yellow Band and euip Kiam with the ring that is effective against organic enemies. (you may have to assemble it)

This worked for me, there was a big difference between level 17 and level 19 so that might help alot.

Hope this helps.

Also, above the other answer, do not kill all of the power sources because they will come back! Leave one alive!
