Saruman can destroy the Mythril Lego blocks, he can be found in Rivendell for 50,000 studs.

If you get the big little character pack you can use baby smaug
That works fine for FreePlay in levels, but you can't FreePlay in middle-earth until you complete story mode. To blow stuff up in middle-earth before finishing story mode, get the Pine Cone Bomb or the Mithril Bomb Blade.
The Pine Cone Bomb requires a Morgul character to access. After The Necromancer, you can buy Sauron. Then FreePlay Out of the Frying Pan... "Climb the Trees" with Sauron. Go to the far right of the first area, use the railings to shimy to a small cave to get the bomb.
Or get the Mithril Bomb Blade design and forge it. Get the design by FreePlaying Flies & Spiders "Elves of Mirkwood". This is available earlier than The Necromancer.
