You have to destroy ALL the big thing s that fire cannon balls at you (the thing at the front gate). Defeat it with Thremite then use him again on the gate.

If it's the gate in the first level you switch to chilla then use ice spears on the button on the top of the gate the button is a red thing then use pummel weed
Go go in the ground then go under the gate I hope I helped
