Question for Halo 3

I need help on Tsavo Highway, I am playing it on Ledgendary by myself and I can't get past the part where you first encounter a Plasma Wraith. I need some tips on how to kill all the Brutes the Phantems drop and how to destroy the Plasma Wraith when there is a gunner in it and a dozen Brutes around it. Oh and one more thing what is the quickest way to kill Brute Captains armed with a Fuel Rod gun????
Can somebody help me please!!!!!!

If you have 2 controllers well then make use of the other one.
Go on in co-op keep one player back and you go do the fight, if you die you'll spawn back to your co-op and you can get back and finish the fight. You can always ask friends too if you have Xbox live.

Save the sniper rifle for last. Snipe the brute thats in the gunner. Wait because they will keep hoping in. Snipe or battle rifle them all or save a few sniper rounds and kill the captain. Then get a fuel rod cannon and unload it onto the wraith. You could also get close and chuck down the equipment that takes down shields and then it should be simple to take out the driver.

Think long range. Need sniper rifle. So you should bring one with you. If you stay on top of the entance the tank will keep shooting at you so take a shot then move. With the machine gunner gone that tank will not target you as quickly. Use the rifle on the brutes especially the machine gunner. There is and extra rifle on top of the entrance. If you kill all the brutes then sneak up on the tank and jump on. Malay it three times and that should kill the driver. You now have a tank. Generally you can get one round off from the hill to the right of the tank before he will see you.

Cybertron answered:

You have to use a sniper and a shotgun for the wraith. As for the Brute captains I am unsure.

Get in the Wraith and keep shooting at it.

Great question, What I have found works really well is- FROM THE BEGINNING OF LEVEL- to give every single marine you see, a fuel rod cannon (or a sniper if that’s available. But once you find enough fuel rods, give everyone fuel rods.)

If you pause after you defeat enemies in a certain area, especially in the beginning, you can grab the beam rifle and the fuel rod cannons and give it to you guys.

The most important guy obviously, is your passenger and your warthog, as well as the other passengers in the other vehicles.

If you do it right, then by the time you get to the part you’re talking about, at least about three of your guys have fuel rod cannons. And they’ll DECIMATE the brutes before they even jump out of the covenant drop ship 😂

As for the wraith, there’s a trick: If you stand right at the crest of the hill, but slightly under it, you can continually shoot the wraith with different weapons and it won’t be able to shoot you back. You can “borrow” a fuel rod gun from your guys, but make sure you return it with 1 ammo piece left so that they have the unlimited ammo on it.

You also can try your luck jumping in the wraith and beating the guy up/doing a grenade to try to steal the wraith. It’ll help preserve your marines with fuel rods for the later sequences, BUT, it’s difficult and you can’t take it over the final bridge where the 3 wraiths and 6 of those other covenant vehicles are.
