Question for Forza Motorsport 4

All I want to do is race my son in a split screen race. But only one of us can pick a car. How do I get both players to be able to pick a car? I'm tired of being in a Hyundai, racing a Lambo....

To do this change the game mode to Free Roam / Free Play then select Split Screen racing.
