I have never played a FF before either but since I borowed my friends copy, iv wanted to play the othere 12 games. It really suckes you in right fromr the begining, but if you don't like linear gameplay than it is a gamble. I could change your mind.

I would say it's worth buying. If you haven't played the other games yet than it might be a little difficult to understand right away. I've played them all and I seen the movies. They really are interesting. But yeah one thing that turns most gamers off is the linear gameplay.

Persanolly I love ff but I wish the battle system would go back to more ff10 style that in my oppinion was the best I actually own almost eveery ff game made and this one isnt the worst the battle system is noobish you can mainly get away with just hitting a/x the whole time but the story is always fun and leveling up completly is always a challenge overall good game but only if you like rpgs
