Deathclaws are not DLC. They are mostly north because when you first start you are low level and most of the beginning quests are south.

GO TO OLD OLNEY IT WERE LIVE THERE IS ALSO A DEATH CLAW SANTURY BUT BLEAVE ME YOU don't WANT TO RUN INTO ONE WITH OUT PROPER WEAPONS ONE STRICE AND YOUR DEAD.
