I have downloaded brokensteel I can not figure out how to get there please help

You need to complete the main story missions first and activate the water purifier at the end of the game, you will then instead of dying (or sarah dying depending on your choice) wake up in the citadel a few days later and the storyline continues with the broken steel missions.

Simply complete the main quest by activating the purifier. After that, you'll get your ending, and then wake up a few weeks later to continue the game.

It appears as a quest in your quest log - it may take a few minutes to appear on load. Simply select it and go to it's marker to begin that line.

Broken steel doesn't start until you complete the main quest line
