recently started this game (now at level 9)...how many times sho

I've taken it twice but it keeps allowing me to select it but I wanna make sure I'm not wasting time continually selecting it when I could be using it on better/more important skills...help!

I think I understand your question, even though it was cut off.

You can take some perks multiple times to improve their effectiveness. For example, you can take Intense Training 10 times, allowing for up to 10 extra SPECIAL points, you can take Animal Friend twice, changing it from animals don't attack you to Animals will assist you in battle.

Check the Fallout 3 wiki, it should give you a full description of the perk and what taking it multiple times will do.

But in reality, the only perk really worth taking more than once is Intense Training, take it two or three times, and MAYBE Animal Friend if you actually put the points into Charisma.
